Chapter 1: Unfair Pair

Some people say having a twin is great. You have someone to do things with, tell your secrets to or go to for advice, and have some for support. But that couldn't be said about Amy and Samey Paxton. The girls were identical twins, but while they both looked nice on the outside, Samey was, but Amy wasn't.

Ever since they were kids, Amy had always treated Samey unfairly. For one thing, Samey name was actually Sammy. But Amy called her "Samey" because she felt like her sister was beneath her, and she knew her sister hated when she called her that.

Amy would steal Samey's toys, books, and clothes. She'd constantly teased her, and put her down. Whenever Samey would go to her parents and complain about her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Paxton would tell Amy to stop.

But they didn't really punish her severely. As they grew from kids to teens things only got worse. Amy constantly belittled her, bossed her around, and continued to steal her things.

And things weren't just like that at home, it was slightly worse at school. Amy was part of the cool mean girls clique at school which consisted of her, Courtney, and Heather. They went around bullying others, acting like they were so much better than everyone else, and acting like the usual mean girls.

While they picked on everyone, Samey was their favorite victim. Amy would force her to pretend to be her in order to take tests for her, made her act like her group's servant, and did all sorts of nasty things to her.

Though she was horribly treated, Samey did have some good things in her life. She had two friends, Jasmine and Cody. Jasmine was a strong tall Australian girl and Cody was a dweeby yet nice guy. They helped Samey during school, and tried to cheer her up by taking out on weekends.

While her life wasn't fair, Samey had small hope that maybe things would change.

One average morning, Samey had just woken up to the sound of her alarm clock. After turning it off, she rubbed her eyes, and left her room to go to the bathroom. Just as she put her hand on the doorknob, a voice called out to her.

She turned around and saw Amy.

"Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?" Amy asked rudely.

"Uh, using the bathroom?"

"You know, that I always get first dibs on the bathroom."

And with that, Amy shoved Samey out of the way and went in. After spending a good thirty minutes in there, Amy finally came out.

"It's all yours, by the way I used the last of your toothpaste."

Samey just sighed, and went to get cleaned up.

Once she was finished, she went back to her room and got dressed. In the kitchen, Amy was already eating her breakfast, Mr. Paxton was reading his newspaper, and Mrs. Paxton was just putting a plate on the table.

"There you are Sammy. Your breakfast was almost about to get cold." Mrs. Paxton told her.

"Sorry, Mom."

"You shouldn't sleep in like that." added Mr. Paxton.

"I didn't sleep in." Samey protested.

"Sure you did Samey. I was the one who had to wake you up." Amy shot back.

Samey just rolled her eyes and sighed. Of course her parents believed Amy, at least they called her by her actual name. So she just sat down and ate her breakfast.

At school, Samey was walking to class with Jasmine and Cody.

"So what do you say we hang out at the mall after school?" Cody suggested.

"That sounds fun, what you say Samey?" thought Jasmine.

"I don't know..." Samey replied.

"Is this about Amy?" Samey looked guilty.

"Samey, you've got to stop letting your sister treat you like a doormat."

"Yeah, you're her sister not her servant." added Cody.

"I know, but I don't know what to do."

"Uh oh, here they come."

Down the hall came Amy, Courtney, and Heather. The three stopped in front of the other three.

"Samey, I hope you didn't make any plans for lunch because we need you to run some errands for us." Amy told her.

"Yeah, you have to clean out our lockers." Heather added.

"And wipe down our desks for our next classes." Courtney mentioned.

Before Samey could open her mouth, Jasmine spoke up.

"Actually she does have plans for lunch."

"Yeah, she's eating with us." Cody shot back.

The three mean girls glared at them, but Jasmine glared right back at them. Then they got a little nervous. While all three were mean alpha females, Jasmine was taller than all of them, and was very strong.

"Fine, but don't think you're off the hook." Amy informed her sister.

And the three walked off.

"Thanks, guys." Samey told them.

"No problem Samey." said Cody.

"But you've got to stand up for yourself. You're your own person." Jasmine said.

Samey looked down. She knew her friends were right, but she just couldn't stand up to Amy on her own.

When the girls got home, their mom greeted them.

"Hey girls, how was school?" asked Mrs. Paxton.

Samey was about to say something, but Amy cut her off.

"Oh, Mom you won't believe my day."

"What happened?"

Amy then began talking about how her and her friends were doing well on the cheer leading squad, and how she was crushing on one of the school's hot guys, Justin. The two were so busy chatting, they forgot about Samey, so she just went to her room.

"(Sighs), I'm just as good as Amy." she told herself.

Samey was a kind, smart, and generous girl. But whatever she did or had Amy took it or took credit for it. Would things ever change?
