Sakuras traumatic past takes hold of her, she battles depression. Rape and sex will be mentioned in this fic, if you don't like then please don't read. I will not be editing out all the hard core stuff, it's rated M for a reason.
It's been one year since that day, the day things all came to an abrupt halt. Can Sakura fight her own wills to get past the loss of her best friend or will a silver hair copy nin have to help her balance her life again? Or Will her new ANBU captain force her back into action? Sakuxkaka SakuxItachi Naruxhina
I do not own Naruto. First and foremost you should know that cannon here, will be thrown out the window. Let me explain. I love the story, I love the ideas, I just want to AU the whole thing from the beginning. I want stronger characters, that being said, I like my Sakura strong, and I like her a total badass. Also, this is non-massacre. Well we all start somewhere though. So here we go, read and review please, this will be the only time I ask.
Chapter one
Sleepless
"Sakura,….you have to run" a voice was croaking, blood oozing from blueing lips "tell….him….tell him…. I'm sorry…..leave….me…"
'No. No tell him yourself' she tried to say, but words wouldn't come out. Her green medical chakra illuminating from her hands but the blood kept flowing freely. Pulsing from cuts all over. 'No no no please kami please' tears poured down her face. Her long pink hair caking to her cheeks.
Please kami. Please don't die.
Her tears trailing down her lashes mixing with blood as the darkness crept in on her trying and failing to staunch the blood flow. Her heart beat slowing every second with the pumping of red liquid. Gods. No please no. She tried to scream. As the body in her arms became a corpse. Her hands shook, her screams loud and silent at the same time, sobs racked her body as she clutched the form to her chest, pouring her chakra into it.
The corpse in her hand started to rise, pale blue eyes open and widening, white spreading through the irises. Skin matted with open wounds and blood. Her mouth opened. Black tar seeped through, pouring over her hands. Sakura screamed. Blood curtling screams. Trying to push the body off her. But it's hand tightened on her forearm. Drawling closer to her face. Tar washing over her as she cried out harder. Chakra still pouring out of her hands.
"Sakura!" A deep voice shook her awake, sweat lining her brow. Her door shook as a fist pummeled the wood. "SAKURA OPEN THIS DOOR!" Her body felt heavy. Sheets tangled around her bare legs, hands still glowing with medical chakra raked through her hair pulling at the roots, as she tried to stop the tears.
It had been awhile since she had a good nights sleep. She had hoped todays meds would keep the terrors at bay.
She quelled the aching in her head with a pulse of the med jutsu, and expelled the tremors
'Breathe, sakura, breathe' she chanted to herself finally stopping the sobs that overcumbered her as she pulled the thin sheets from her legs to free herself. At that moment, her front door flew open. Her bedroom was directly across from the living room. Her line of sight on the splintered wooden frame. It would only be steps until the annoying blond entered her chambers and found her. As if on cue with the creaking floorboards came naruto, his loose white tee shirt and baggy shorts showing he had heard the screams.
"Sakura! What happened?!" He jossled her, both hands coming to her face to pull her red lined green orbs into focus. "Where's the danger?!wait…..Why are you crying?" He looked into her face tear stained and puffy.
"Night terror. I'm fine naruto, please don't break down my door again. I just replaced that too..." She ripped her face out of his grasp and pulled herself up from the mattress. Glancing at her clock on the bedside table the ditgits read 4:17 am. Her spaghetti strap tang top hung tight to her sweaty body, the shorts she wore loose on her thighs.
"Still?" He sighed. "Sakura…it's been a year." As he spoke he took a seat on her bed. Pushing aside the sweat stained sheets. "You haven't spoken to anyone. You hardly talk to me and we're not just team mates. We're neighbors, the only time I see you is when you are leaving for work, or your leaving for a mission…"
She shrugged. Biting down on the taste of guilt and bile rising up her throat. Taking deep breaths. "It's….it's not easy to talk about it naruto." Her voice was barely above a whisper. But in the silence that surrounded her friend, he heard her. "It's not like I can easily forget what happened either. Talking about it doesn't help. It just brings it back up." She shook her head trying to wipe blood images out of her mind.
"At least talk to granny-tsunade about it.." naruto trailed off. She strode over to the wardrobe and opened it. Grabbing out a change of clothes. She walked out of the room the creak of her bed told her that naruto was following her.
"Naruto. Stop. I'm fine," she waved him off. "I just need space, And time." Reaching for the door to the bathroom, blond still on her heels.
"Sakura, seriously. I miss your smile, most of konaha misses your smile…." He walked into the bathroom behind her. "All you do us mope when your home." He flinched, as if remembering the way she used to be when he would poke and prod her. No fist came. No yelling.
She sighed, shrugging. "I hear you ok?" She turned to face him, her dim green eyes meeting bright blue. "Now if you would, I'm going to shower and go to the training grounds to get a workout in before the meeting with tsunade-sama this morning." Turning the shower handle on and starting the hot water for a heat soak. Naruto stared at her. Not moving an inch.
So she did the only thing she could to remove him from her bathroom. She started taking off clothing. His face blushing bright red before he turned out the door, closing it behind him. "Hey dim wit!" She yelled out to him, "I expect that door working before you leave!" As she stepped into the hot pulsing magic to clear the sweat and horrors of her dream delírium.
When Sakura Stepped out of the shower, her mind had finally refocused. The nights dream had been vivid. She could almost feel it this time. She waved her hand over the mirror, pushing away the steam. Her dark circles were back in full force. I guess it was something you lived with when you slept a total of five hours a night.
She dried her hair with the light towel and pulled it back into a pony tail. It was long. A lot longer than she had ever let it get. Waist length. Her heart wrenched.
Fingertips glowed green as she healed the dark circles. If she couldn't hide the truth as well, she could at least hide the pain.
She pulled on the black spandex shorts, and her white med skirt. And started to wrap the bandages over her thigh. Strapping her kunai pouch in place. She wrapped her Breast bindings, before pulling a skin tight black sleeveless turtle neck into place. Her white anbu vest in both hands as she looked at it. Hands trembling a bit.
She tossed it to the side, and picked up her black sleeveless zip top. Zipping it up half way. Pulling on her black elbow length gloves as she left the bathroom and entered the living room. To be honest, she wasn't sure what she was going to find. A broken door, an 'I'll be by to fix the door later Sakura Chan!' Note maybe. She doubted she'd see Naruto. That's for sure.
But what she didn't expect to find a silver haired copy nin in the middle of repairing her frame, and putting in a new door and threshold.
"Sensei…" she started, looking at him. He wore a sleeveless dark blue turtle neck that covered his lower face still. His hair was poking lazily about. Hitai-ate brought down over his left eye. His eye crinkle all that showed through.
"You should really give him a key." He bantered. Smile evident on his face through the mask.
She sighed. "Yes, I do suppose I should. This is the third door this year." She picked up the splinters off the ground. "How did he rope you into it this time?" She looked up into his one visible dark coal iris.
"Mah. Sakura. I didn't exactly get roped into it." He said, sliding the new jam into the frame, and starting to nail the pieces into place. "I just seen it broken and didn't want to leave your place open to the world. I'm guessing it was naruto."
"Well, yes. Who else would leave me in this state of disarray? But Seen it broken? What were you doing in this side of town?" She pulled her wrist up to lay over her shoulder. The one with the anbu tattoo.
"Checking in on someone." He said, blatantly.
"Who sensei?" She had a feeling.
He looked at her. Popping the last nail in place, before measuring where the strike plate would go.
"Well, for your information, I do just fine without people checking in on me sensei." She crossed her arms, walking into the kitchen. Looking at the stove clock. Five twenty two am. "Would you like breakfast?" She called over her shoulder.
"One. Sakura, we know you don't need it. We care, and we never see you anymore. Plus, I have some news to share, and I figured you'd either be up or be up soon. Secondly, yes." He said looking over to her kitchen pass-through. "I'd love breakfast."
She put the left over rice in the pan to cook, and starting the water to boil for some tea. Adding her boiled vegetables from last night. When it browned a bit she added an egg. "You said 'we'" she stated, "who is 'we'."
"Hn. We is we, Sakura. That smells amazing." He stated, finish the holes for the hinges.
"Who is 'we' kakashi?" She stated again. Looking over at the silver haired nin as he placed the door upright and aligned the door.
He exhaled loudly. "'Mah. We' is myself and the pups Sakura." He made a quick hand sign and clone popped up, holding the door in place as he started screwing it in place.
"Ah." She huffed out. Stirring the rice and shutting off the burner. She started to pull out plates and cups, and the tea kettle started to sing. "Green or English?" She stated.
"English." He said as he finished the install. The door handle being next as she played the food and grabbed chop sticks, Kakashis clone came to help bring it to the table.
"Arigato."
A puff of smoke and she sat waiting on her sensei. He walked the two steps to her table and pulled out a chair. Jingling a new set of keys in his hands.
She reached for them. "How much do I owe you for the door sensei?"
"Nothing. Just promise me you'll give the dope a key." He smiled up at her. She turned away from him to give him some privacy to eat. Jiggling the keys in her hand. She peeled one off the ring and set it aside for naruto, and pulled a second one off for her work set before attaching the other one to her normal everyday key ring and putting it in her hip pouch.
Eatting slowly she pushed the fried rice around on her plate. Mind winding about.
"Leave…me…"
Her head spun.
"Sakura?" His voice was smooth as he placed his hand over Hers. She flinched. Then turned her head to him false smile plastered on. His mask back in place.
"Sorry sensei, just had a rough night." She continued eatting. Pushing the intrusive thoughts out of her head.
As she finished she collected the plates. Walking back into the kitchen, and depositing them in the sink.
"Sakura." He said coming into the kitchen behind her, resting a hand on her shoulder. "Let's go for a run. Maybe a few laps around the village will help? I can invite pakkun. It could be like old times?" He gave her the age old eye crinkle as she finished scrubbing the plates and rested them on a drying rack. Turning in spot to face him.
"I thought you had news for me." She said. Her green orbs looking tired. Hands immediately going to her hips.
"How about this." He scratched the back of his neck looking at the ceiling. "Three laps, and we can get coffee and gossip."
"You know what, I'd like that." Her false smile was back. "Let me get my shoes on." They walked to the door. Her eyes coming to rest on the photo hung by the living room counter that served as her breakfast bar. Stilling on the two in picture. The blond and pink brightly showing in anbu gear. Smiles stretching their faces. She tipped the photo down, shielding it from view.
She couldn't do that today.
"You ready?" He managed after opening the door. "We can drop the key off to naruto on our way out." She pushed past the counter and grabbed her sandals.
"Hai, sensei. Lead the way."
