Idol-
Namine could swear she was starting to sprout feathers as Kairi threw another boa around her sister's shoulders.
"Oh Namine! You look so, so,"
"Bird-like? Is that what you were gonna say Kairi?" Xion asked glibly, standing with her hands in the pockets of her black jeans.
"Knock it off Xion! I'm just trying to help Namine find a spectacular look for our upcoming concert," Kairi explained.
"Alright fine. Just put the boas away, please!" Xion pleaded,
"nightSILK isn't going to make a big impression if we can't stand out! We gotta have something about us that's different!" Kairi explained.
"And that thing is feather boas?" Xion asked, raising a manicured brow skeptically.
"Well, it's better than either of your ideas so far! Which are, oh let me think - nothing!" Kairi shot back.
"Ok, ok. We all need to take a deep breath and calm down," Namine placated, ever the pacifist of the group.
All three girls took a moment to recompose themselves before they dove back into their discussion.
"Now, I think what could make us stand out, instead of odd wardrobe choices," Xion began, sending a glare at the redhead. "Would be if we did a collaboration with some other group, someone popular,"
"That's not a bad idea Xion! But instead of someone popular, what if we did a collab with a group that's just like us? Up and coming and rather new to the idol scene?" Namine said, receiving a thumbs up from Xion.
"Someone like them?" Kairi pointed at the tv in their dressing room, a brunette newscaster speaking while a group of teenage boys were shown as a smaller picture to the right.
"Turn it up!" Xion exclaimed, Kairi diving for the remote and pressing the volume button.
"….and has now reached the billboard hot 100 with their latest album, 'Butterfly Effect' featuring the hit song 'Try My Luck'. The group's popularity in Korea and the United States is soaring, but sales have been plummeting slowly throughout the rest of the world. In other news the Prime Minister of," Kairi turned off the television, the screen fading to black.
"You think our big break is Quantum?!" Xion asked, her hands landing on her hips.
"Why not?" Kairi asked.
"I agree with Kairi. Quantum is one of the best up and coming groups at the moment, but they struggle with their overall worldwide image. We probably have a better worldwide image than they do in fact," Namine pointed out. "I think we could both benefit from a collaboration. I'll talk to some people I know,"
"Still think feather boas are the way to go?" Xion teased the redhead.
"Oh be quiet!"

"These girls are just what we need to boost our boys' popularity," a blonde woman said, dropping a newspaper into her husband's lap.
He looked over the article on the open page with raised eyebrows. "I don't really think that'll be a good idea Larxene," Axel said as he put the paper back on the table.
"These girls are in the top 30 bands in over 25 countries, while our boys have popularity only here in the US and the Koreas. They could help our boys increase their overall impact and worldwide footprint while our boys could help them get higher up the charts overall. It's a win win," Larxene said bracing herself against the tabletop.
Axel looked skeptically at his wife for several minutes and surprised her when he rose from his seat, sliding his hands into his pockets. "Alright. We can try it. But you owe me," he said, jabbing her in the chest with a finger. "Big time,"
"Oh, I think I can come up with something!"
——
"Gingham? Seriously?" Ventus asked his eldest brother as he looked down at the outfit said sibling had designed for him.
"What? Larxene wanted a cohesive look for the six of you since this is your first big performance as a combined group and we didn't want anything over the top, so I chose gingham. It's really in right now!" Sora explained through his ever-brilliant smile.
"But why blue?" Riku asked, pulling on his zip up vest.
"Blue goes with literally everything and you all look great in it too," Sora explained.
Roxas joined the group and adjusted his cropped jacket to his liking. "These outfits are pretty on point bro," he praised the brunette.
"Case in point," Sora said, dropping an invisible mic.
"Alright boys, time to get out there and prove you can perform just as legit as you look," Larxene ordered, the guys heading out towards the stage and meeting up with the other part of their recently formed collaboration.
"You all ready for this?" Riku asked the girls with a charming smile.
Xion smirked back at him while Namine simply nodded.
"Let's do this thing!" Kairi said excitedly, jumping up and down, her skirt fluttering slightly with the movement.
"You doing ok, Namine?" Roxas asked her, slight concern in his voice.
"Absolutely! Let's rock this!"
He smiled nicely at her as the curtain started to rise.
"San Francisco are you ready?" The announcer asked with a reply of excited screaming and shouting. "Please welcome to the stage the one, the only - DAYBREAK!"
The crowd screamed even louder - if that was even possible - as the group made their way underneath the multicolored lights.
"HELLO SAN FRANSISCO!" Ventus yelled into his mic, greeted with more shouting fans.
"What time is it?" Xion asked, cupping her hand to her ear for show.
"DAYBREAK!" The crowd cried out, the six teenagers on stage smiling at each other as they heard the music for their first song begin.
This was gonna be fun!
——-
"I think I broke my wrist," Kairi complained as she finished up writing her final autograph.
"Here, let me see," Sora said, taking her wrist gently in his hands and probing it with his fingers. "It'll be ok. Just sore. Just massage the forearm muscles before bed and that'll help,"
"Wow! That's super helpful Sora! How did you know about that?" Kairi asked, amazed.
"I've had to deal with this enough for my brothers that I'm pretty used to it by this point!" Sora replied, rubbing the back of his neck and grinning like a fool.
Kairi giggled behind her hand at his goofy charm.
Namine watched her sister and Sora as they connected, grinning sadly at how quickly their relationship had taken off. Her gaze shifted over to Xion and Riku as a boisterous laugh from the dark haired girl alerted her to their own blossoming relationship, the pair obviously laughing over some of their more, unique fans from the recent autograph signing.
"You ok?"
Namine saw a hand from the corner of her eye, holding out a bottle of water to her. Her eyes trailed up the the arm to a shoulder and soon the concerned looking face of Roxas.
"Thank You Roxas," She said, politely taking the bottle from him, cracking it open, and taking a sip from it.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Roxas probed again, shifting a smidgeon closer to her.
Namine nodded slowly. "It's just kind of,"
"Hard to see everyone else developing relationships and you're still the single one? Join the club," Roxas finished her thought, causing her to blink owlishly at him. "I know the feeling Namine. The whole world expects us to be thrilled to pieces with our lives, but it's not that simple. Being an idol is hard work and then people expect you to find love on top of it,"
"Well it seems to have worked out for Sora and Kairi. As well as Riku and Xion. Not to mention that Axel and Larxene met in this business,"
"That's true," Roxas conceded, taking a sip of his own water.
"Then that just leaves you, me, and Ven," Namine ticked the names off on her fingers.
Roxas shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot as she listed the single people in their group.
"I have been wondering though, what would it feel like if that list turned from three names to just one," Namine said, jerking Roxas out of his thoughts, his eyes snapping up towards her.
"You mean?"
"What if Ven and I dated?"
The question thew Roxas for a loop, uncertain how to take her nochalant attitude about it until he caught the sly smirk on her lips.
"Don't tease me like that!" He warned, Namine laughing as she shoved his shoulder playfully.
"So, what do you say? You wanna go out on a date?" Namine asked honestly, all révise ce of teasing gone from her voice.
"I might know a little place that the paparazzi don't know about," Roxas added.
Namine slipped her hand into his a smiled.
"Sounds perfect,"
For this chapter, just imagine them all as looking like they normally do, but they are all partially of Japanese nationality for this chapter and this chapter ONLY. They are a Japanese-American pop group. Axel and Larxene are American. Sora is the older brother of Roxas and Ventura who are twins. This chapter isn't my favorite, but I liked adding more relationships into this one! Please enjoy!
