Cyberpunk: Less than Human
"You know the mission?" Tanaka said from the front of the van.
"Get in, Kill the target, get out." Six spoke tapping their foot on the van floor, their optics checked the time in the corner of it's vision, 11:30. The G.P.S pointed to them outside a no-tell motel in Watson. The back of the van had no windows, and the driver was some random Arasaka suit. It was Tanaka who opened the back of the door, revealing the trash fires, bathed in a pink neon light. Six stepped in a puddle, disturbing the reflection of a sex shop. Six slammed their fists into each other with a loud clank. Tanaka held his hand out to stop the charge.
"No. Run a diagnostic. I'll go through the brief again."
"Doc, I'm fully functional."
"Your opinion and fact can differ wildly." Six pressed into their metal palm, a wire ejected from their wrist, they plugged into Tanaka's phone. The doctor scrolled through, everything was operational, as the mission brief appeared in Six's vision, overlaying with reality. Turns out Arasaka Counter intelligence was counter, counter intelligence for Kang-tao, but Araska's Counter, counter, counter intel in Kangatao had discovered them thanks to counter counter counter, counter, whatever. Six was given a target. Easy capture, job done collect whatever scraps were left after the taxman took his cut. Six was given a budget arms slaught-o-matic, finish the clip, and leave the evidence in the trash. Six's manipulators were unable to leave fingerprints. Tanaka stepped back, and Six's vision cast itself on The doc's phone screen. Six placed the pistol in the pocket of their trench coats. They looked like any wannabe solo, dark long coat, old black army boots, giving off the impression of a mercenary, contrasting with the black pants and white shirt of a corpo, giving Six a better dress sense than the filth on the side of the road. Six's optics could see in those huddling around the warmth of a fire, wires poking from shot up cyberware, pathetic. Tanaka snapped his fingers in front of Six.
"Focus. We've tracked our culprit down to room 417, our netrunner's say he took someone, a woman, there's also two others in there, maybe buyers."
"What do you want me to do?"
"Keep the death to a minimum."
"It's probably just some joy toy."
"Body count to a minimum. Only kill if they're a threat. Keep in contact." Six nodded and stomped towards the entrance, past the prostitutes, all wearing clothing that showed their skin, winking to passers bye. Six's optics gazed at them, most had been arrested, Their files showed in Six's vision. Most had been arrested, some even twice, that didn't deter them from their work. Six saw one Hubert Smith, delivery man, married, taken inside by a woman with bright neon eyes. The lady of the night stuck out her snake like tongue, pushing it through Hubert's lips. Six's thumping steps and glaring red Iris' meant very few humans propositioned him. Not all of them though. One hooker dared to step in front, pouting her plastic lips.
"Hey there big boy. You look like you work hard." The prostitute's hand reached down, feeling between Six's legs grasping at air. "More a midnight lady kinda freak huh." Six shoved the lady to the side, her faceplate banged against the cracked tile floor, having to stand up some of the fur from her coat stuck to the ground. She raised her voice, irrelevant complaints about being pushed. She put up enough of a ruckus for an Animal to impede Six's advance. The hunk of meat and metal stood in front of the escalator. The animal's voice artificially deepened with the hunk of chrome strapped to his neck.
"My Boss wants to talk. I'd listen if I were you." Six turned their neck to see a man in a white coat, and sunglasses, despite it being now 11:43 P.M and inside. His cane clicked on the floor, and his voice autotuned to sound like one of Lizzy Wizzy's songs, speaking in a melody.
"Ya' can't just throw the bitches around. You see, Her pretty face cost an equally pretty penny. Now, normally I ask for eddies before the customers get rough with my girls, and well… I'm going to need you to pay for that, and any damages of course. or my friend can crack you open, see if you have any spare parts to help us repair lil Ol Barbie here."
"She was in my way."
"Tha's her job. Invite you in for a good night."
"I'm not here for a good night."
"Not my problem, what is, is the fact you banged up the bimbo, only fair you compensate." Six looked up to the animal, giving them a scan. They were meat mostly. Limbs were enhanced but their organs were squishy and only one heart. "Look at me when I'm talking to you." The pimp's cane rebounded off of Six's shoulder with a loud ping of metal against metal. The pimp looked at their bent cane, stepping back. Six turned around, their vision seeing through the sunglasses, the quivering eyes. Six's vision began to glitch. Six's finger twitched their hand, launched out, digits reached inside the pimp's lower mouth, while Six's other hand reached inside un-hinging the skull, with a snap, a fountain of red confetti erupted from the new statue, decorating the floor below, making the bland grey tiles have some colour. The animal couldn't react in time, Six unholstered their pistol, One bullet caused an eruption of red paint on the walls, decorating the canvas. The sound of static filled Six's mind, blocking out everything the static had the resemblance of rapid gunfire, making music filling the dead air and drowning out the screams. Only one voice pierced the static.
"Six. Six" Tanaka. "Six. Stop daydreaming." Six's fists un-clenched, speaking through bared teeth. "How much…do I owe you?"
"Couple Thou." A yellow bar, appeared in Six's vision the five thousand above the bar decreased, transferring the pimp his money. The pimp nodded and the animal stepped out the way, leaving Six to ascend. Six looked down from each floor towards the animal, watching as their body began to contort, Six's eye twitched, reality altering to reveal A bloodied stump where the head used to be, their hand inside their coat, around their weapon. Tanaka's voice echoed through Six's head.
"A public fight will only spook our target. Head to the top floor." Six stepped back, this creature was beneath them, as Six ascended higher to the top floor of the building.
The cherry red light invaded all parts of the hotel with pink light, As Six wandered down the hallway, scanning the numbers for room 417 Standing in front of the locked door at the end of the corridor. Tanaka's voice crackled over the radio.
"Let a Netrunner open it." Six waited, tapping their foot.
"How long?" Six felt along the door, finding a crack for their fingers to pop through, sparks flew as Six wedged his fingers further in with a screech, Six's digits dented the metal as circuitry was torn apart, the door forced back, revealing a group of men crowded around a bed where a woman lay, all suits without ties. Six's optics observed Arasaka property. The target turned around, seeing Six and his jaw dropped.
"Scatter." One of the gonks reached for their pistol, aiming at Six. Their synaptic accelerators sent a pulse through electrical receptors, surging through the nervous systems. As the pistol took aim at where Six was, The machine was already too close, grabbing onto the closest threats arm, Six forced the elbow the wrong way, bone erupted though skin, the hinge was only meant to move one way, A swift kick to the knee delivered a similar blow to the leg, giving the room some more colour aside from pink. The symphony of screams filled the small room, compact the acoustics of the room meant that there wasn't an annoying echo, only pure un-adulterated screams. The loud cacophony ended when Six lifted the broken body, by the neck in front of them taking the bullets intended for them. Six burst forwards to the other meatbag whose fight or flight instinct was clearly broken. Six's hand mashed the two's skull's together, blasting fragments of bone across the room. Six wiped their bloody hand on the wall, leaving the sleeping doll on the bed, covered in money. Six's target had reached the fire escape, scrambling down the exterior ladders A fifteen meter drop. Six's ears could single out the quick shallow breaths among the constant whirr of air conditioners outside. Six hopped over the railing and slammed into the floor, their reinforced body shrugging off the sudden stop. Six turned to see the target back against the steps. He Starred upwards meeting the metal titan's red Iris', shaped like bullsye's ever-gazing as Six pulled out the pistol, aiming it at the target, wrapping their finger around the trigger, feeling all strength sap from their arm. Six's mouth opened but Tanaka's voice spoke.
"Arasaka can negotiate. We know you stole from R&D Spencer. Just tell us where I will personally see from your exile from the company." Spencer covered his face, as if that would save himself from getting shot.
"I…I dunno. I sold it to a guy."
"Who?"
"I don't know. Look, don't you have enough money? C'mon I just needed some scratch. I found it in an envelope under my desk. I didn't take it I swear."
"Then who did you sell it to?"
"I don't know."
"Are you even aware of what you stole?"
"I just got a message. I tested it on a doll. I got money."
"Baka." Tanaka's voice cut out as the van swung around the car park. Tanaka opened the side and stepped out, giving the order for Six to throw him in the back of the van, an order taken too literally, Spencer went hurtling towards the van, slamming into the wall, and breaking a rib was one way to restrain a prisoner. Tanaka locked the van door, lighting a cigarette, stepping towards Six who's grip tightened around the pistol.
"Warn me before you do that." Six looked at the pistol, shaking their head and holstering it.
"I wasn't sure if you were going to let him live, after that little display in the motel."
"They drew weapons."
"Let's not argue. They were unimportant. After this I want you to report to be to get your berserk checked on." Six shrugged their shoulders. Tanaka took a long drag of his cigarette. He ascended the fire escape
"What are you doing?" Six-pointed towards the van. "We got the target."
"Checking if the girls alive." Tanaka looked down to see Six tailing. "You can wait in the van."
"She could be dangerous."
"She's out cold." Tanaka stepped through the window, seeing the extent of Six's work, and recoiled, The strong smell of Iron wasn't going to come out of the stained curtains. He looked back to the borg, their hands still dripping blood, rolling off those ebony fingertips. A few gunshots wouldn't cause too much alarm at least, not in a no-tell motel. Six looked over the room, only a few corpses, Ex-arasaka and the girl. The two gold strips around her neck told Tanaka everything. Six prodded the doll, seeing if it would move, A child poking a bug, checking if it was alive.
"She's ganic, got a doll chip though…Something's interfering." Tanaka took off their coat and threw it over the girl, N.C.P.D records showed up in Six's vision, it was a mystery, no mugshot, or criminal record. Six didn't even get a name. Curious. Tanaka's hands moved to feel the nape of the doll's neck, a small click. Tanaka removed a black bio-chip with red wires on the inside and an R engraved on the metal. Tanaka lowered his head, staring at the woman. He tried to pull her out of bed but being fifty, he managed to get her to sit up, out cold she slumped in the bed.
"Leave her." Six looked out the window for any sign of the cops, or other hostiles. "We have what we need."
"She shouldn't wake up here. Six. Please." Six looked at the doll and threw her over their shoulder.
Tanaka lead them to the roof.
"Cold air should help calm her, as much as it can." The door to the roof had the suicide prevention hotline with the words inscribed on it to 'Never give up' The no-tell motel's other use aside from prostitutes. Six pushed past the door, met with the dry chill of late-night California. Six placed the doll on one of the plastic chairs, while Tanaka added to the already full ashtray on the table. The roof of the no-tell motel wasn't used as often as the rooms undecorated. The concrete of Watson buildings it was chipped and cracked, but only Six could tell with their optics able to see. They looked out on the water to see the bridge connecting the island to Japantown with skyscrapers shooting advertisements into the sky. Tanaka didn't wait to light up another cigarette, staring at the doll.
"What's on your mind Tanaka?"
"The chip. It's a mistake." Tanaka dropped it on the floor and crushed it under his shoe. Tanaka sighed and sat on the edge, placing his head in his hands. "She won't survive the night. Six, I need to ask a favor."
"No."
"I'll cancel the session with your life coach tomorrow."
"Deal."
"Help get the doll home."
"Why?"
"I worked on what was in her head. If she dies, it's my fault. We need to keep an eye on her, any side effects. Please." Six shrugged their shoulders.
"So long as I'm not in the coach's garden, I'm happy."
"Thank you." The sound of shuffling came from behind, followed by screaming. Six turned towards the doll as she rubbed her eyes, gathering her surroundings, this wasn't where she was meant to be. Her eyes widened and she nearly fell back stumbling against the chair. Her finger pointed towards the corpo's
"You two, who are you, Tyger claws? Look I'm just a doll, you wanna get to clouds, you kidnap someone else. I ain't anyone special." Six turned to Tanaka and zipped his mouth shut. The doctor did up his tie stepped closer to the doll and bowed.
"I am Sojiro Tanaka. We are not Tyger claws, me and my…friend here are Arasaka."
"If one of my clients is a corpo, my chip wipes my memory. I got no idea what they told me please don't kill me."
"We're not here to kill you Madame, we are here to take you home…wherever home is." The doll, looked back over the water to Japantown. She shook her head and turned on her heels, nearly falling over in maid's heels.
"I can get home on my own." The doll patted down her clothes, but nylon leggings and the maid outfit she was wearing had no personal belongings, no money, no phone. Her hands began to quiver holding onto her dress, to try and steady them.
"Please, Madame. We have no intention to harm you. Watson is dangerous at night, please. We just want to help."
"I don't care enough to kill you, if that helps." Six spoke up, not even seeing the ladies horrified reaction.
"You see. My friend here. You won't remember because of the doll chip, but well a less respectful client used something on you, and well. I just want to make sure everything is ok. We can't let one bad salesman ruin Arasaka's reputation."
"I thought you already did that with the secure your soul." The doll stood up getting a small chuckle out of Six.
"She's got you there." Six slapped Takeshi on the back. "Doll, we've got a van."
"My name is Jade, Not doll."
"Jade's a real name?"
"What's yours?"
"Six."
"I'll give you my real name when you give me yours."
"I'll tell you when I remember." Jade turned to Tanaka. "I don't need a ride, just money for the N-cart station. if you're feeling like my knight in shining armor." Tanaka nodded and reached for a cred chip, offering it to Six.
"Six will come with you and pay, I'll compromise." Jade folded her arms. Public transport in the dark, she had to get there looking like…this.
"Fine. He's taking me to my floor though, nothing else."
"Sounds good to me" Six was already leaving through the motel
"There's a bonus on the card for you." Tanaka left down the fire escape and Jade headed back inside. The blood had rolled off Six's fingers yet heading down the steps back into the lobby. The pimp stayed in a corner, and the woman of the night moved to the side of the door to let the two out. Jade's stomach rumbled along the street. A human need. She looked up to Six.
"When was the last time I ate?"
"You don't know?"
"It's the doll chip, black out and pray I don't wake up any cuts." Jade managed a grin. "Joking, Clouds stops anything too freaky." The jokes didn't make Six laugh, the two waited for the light to turn green on the road, leaving the two standing on the side of the road, dead air with the occasional sound of cars going past the streets of Watson. The second most run-down place in N.C, though the winner of that prize was Pacifica because in Watson there was the occasional N.C.P.D patrol car, and the abandoned skyscrapers weren't falling apart, yet. Large concrete and glass monoliths lay with no lights in their windows, all while the Arasaka waterfront acted as a beacon, the largest corporate structure, in Watson, Arasaka kept it that way. Six stepped down an alley past the trash fires and raggedy homeless ganic's unable to afford the cheapest cyberware, probably for the best. Six emerged at a hotdog stand. Jade would be useless without nutrition.
"Here's food."
"Not food." The brown meat substitute floating in oil seemed edible as Six tilted their head. "It's a hotdog." Jade had to tug on Six's arm to get them moving.
"No one ever tell you to trust N.C hotdogs?"
"I don't eat."
"Well…before then."
"Don't remember."
"You weren't kidding, back at the motel?"
"Why'd I joke about that?" Six had to be pulled away from the hotdog stand, noodle stand, curry stand. Fish stand taken all the way to the N-cart. The doctor had a point, Jade could spot open carried weapons on half the people in the city, hearing gunshots. If any were to go off near her, Six would be an asset, at least until she got home. The N-cart suspended above the city, it was a metal rail, where boxes hung from it. N-cart, staring at the carriage hanging from the rail enter the station, one working buildings in Watson. At this time of the night, the type to use public transport were in bed, there wasn't a queue for the machine Six bought two tickets with the tap of a card against the screen. Up the stairs and Jade lay back feeling her stomach rumble, watching Six, who was leaning against the wall, reading the N-Cart map, having to be stopped from getting on the wrong box, lead in by Jade.
Jade was able to get a seat, Her feet were black, and walking in heels was impossible. She rested her head against the window of the N-cart, she couldn't close her eyes. There was no hope of sleep on the cheap plastic chairs, even less while the dull thud of boots paced up and down the box. Six pushed their head against the window. Staring at the lights of Japantown. The illuminated walkways between buildings, made a second floor to the district, an urban spider web, with flickering neon signs. Six ran across the cart, they still breathed, Jade could see the perspiration on the plasti-glass. Six watched the little people below, and the red streaks left by fast cars, Japantown was alive. The N-cart station opened and Six ran outside, nearly pushing people to the floor, heading to the ground floor. Outside the N-cart station there was J-pop banging loudly from a club across the road as a door opened letting the beats of Ponpon shit slip out. The street awash with fashion. Bomber jackets, mohawk's taller than they should be. The colour variation in the city centre was black, or charcoal grey suits. Yet here there were pinks and blues the whole spectrum humans could see. Six had lost Jade. Six's optics snapped through the crowd of people. Tanaka's coat was the only piece of formal clothing, Maid outfits were really only relegated to fetishwear since the nineteenth century. The heels in Jade's hands could be useful as makeshift shiv's though. Six shoved past the multi-coloured gaggle, catching up to Jade, who turned away, buttoning up the coat.
"I can get home from here."
"I was told to get you home safe." Jade jerked her thumb to the massive obelisk down the road. A holographic H-8 large enough to be seen from another city district.
"I know where I'm going."
"Good, lead the way."
"You can go."
"Choice isn't yours." Jade sped up to a walk and Six did the same, with less strides. Outrunning wasn't possible, pushing away was neither, talking to it? Not a chance. Jade sighed and shook her head, reaching the base of the megabuilding. past Brendan's mural, the outline of an S.C.S.M machine painted with a heart inside the box. Six shook their head, stepping into the concrete corridors of a megabuilding. Ganics were strange.
Six was assaulted by smells. A mix of body odour, fried synth-meat and alcohol. Six was the best dressed, even with flecks of blood on their clothes. Overlooked when it was the Tygerclaws running the place. Heavily tattooed each one branding the mark of their gang on their right hand. A scouting party it was only two of them eating noodles, though their eyes lingered on Six. New faces weren't uncommon in a megatower. Clean faces with military-grade cyberware were. Six stepped in someone's vomit, as a drunk stumbled through, with a cheer on the lobby floor, seating themselves on one of the stools outside a window, two thugs half way through what constituted a mild disagreement broke out with a circle, creating a makeshift coliseum around a drunken fight. The ball of fists hit the floor. Six clapped their hands watching this gladiatorial sport, waiting to see who'd win, Six snapped back, having to tear themselves away from the show.
"I need a drink." Jade stood in the elevator, while Six watched the fight, it only ended when one of the gladiators were unconscious. The elevator. Six attempted to whistle but just blew out air. The elevator jerked. In a corpo tower, this would have been on the exterior of the building. large enough to lift tens of people, and the walls made of crossing metal wires. It looked more like a construction elevator. Jade was stuck in the corner, as it stopped at multiple floors. Residents got on and off, but even when the elevator got busy, they bunched together at the other side of the metal cage, and as Six followed Jade to her floor, the residents practically hugged the wall.
"Alright, I'm home."
"No, you're not."
"Close enough."
"I was meant to get you home."
"Look, It's less than ten metres."
"Tanaka told me to get you home."
"I am home."
"No, you're not." Jade groaned and placed her fingers on her temples, rubbing clockwise. She inhaled deeply and turned away.
"I think I preferred it when after I woke up, The clients left." Jade took a step forward and so did Six. She looked over her shoulder and walked in a circle, Six did the same, tracing her steps. "Jesus Christ, how old are you?" Six shrugged. Jade's twisted face managed a shallow chuckle. It didn't seem real. "If I get home safe, will you leave me alone?"
"That's what Tanaka wants."
"What do you want?" Six shrugged again.
"I guess. I like to have fun."
"So go off, do drugs, bang chicks do whatever you like." Jade continued forward, seeing a red light over her door. Her eyes widened, breaking into a sprint. Jade banged her hand on the door, 'Rent due' scrolled atop the door. She smashed on the door with her fist. The door refused to budge. Six had to break into their second room of the night. There was no light in the old megabuilding room though. It had been stripped, lacking any decorations, there weren't even covers on the bed. Jade placed her head against the door frame and closed her eyes, to not let the water leave her eyes. Six pressed called the elevator, tapping their foot on the floor. There was still a fight going on downstairs, if they were quick they might be able to see who won. Tanaka's face appeared in the corner of Six's vision.
'She's not home.'
"She's homeless."
'At least help her with a motel.' The elevator appeared and Six lurched their body to move forwards, but their feet became heavier than they could lift, appearing to be doing reverse limbo. Six, reached for their legs, trying to manually lift them up.
"She's home Doc. The deal is done."
'So help her find one. I'll give you a bonus.' Six stood up straight.
"How much."
'Enough to pay off a foot.'
"Including the interior?"
'Fine yes.' Six turned their head a hundred and eight degree's their body followed suit, seeing Jade hadn't even moved. Six loomed over her.
"Can't you just…pay the rent, any money stash?"
"I'm a doll. I barely made enough to pay rent."
"Borrow the money?"
"I could, i dunno check in with Clouds. Ask for my pay in advance, maybe a client." Jade lifted her head up, with wet eyes. Jade had to pick herself up, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. She saw from her balcony Clouds, the double doors with guards on either side and an outline of a neon girl on a pole.
"Just a little detour." Six was already pressing the button to descend repeatedly, the, machine wasn't fast enough.
Guards would be a generous term. The dolls outside were armed with Budget Arms guillotine. The slogan of the company was 'Better than bringing a knife to a gunfight.' Plastic, Six would prefer a knife. They lacked body armor, unable to afford it maybe, it made no sense if they preferred torn tank t-shirts and shorts in the California weather, with ammo sashes around their waist the style of a dissident, or night city rioters when they got serious. Their hands tightened on the grips of their weapons seeing Six, the doors slid open to reveal clouds. The music was slow the slow rise and fall of Synths from the speakers in the corners equally dripped out into the dark room, making it harder to recognize faces, all while pink neon signs illuminated certain spots for moments of clarity, like behind the receptionist. The doll's face behind the computer with a smile.
"What are your desires tonight?" Jade rolled her eyes and leaned over the desk.
"I'll get to the chase. I'm a doll. I need some money. Pay in advance, or just. Anything."
"Do you have a meeting?"
"It's Jade. Jade Jewel."
"There's no meeting for a Jade Jewel. Her next opening is in two weeks. Would you like to schedule one with her?"
"I'll be dead by then! I need the money. I just need my paycheck a little early that's all."
"According to this, you quit a month ago."
"A month!" Jade's voice filled the room. Her hands quivered, retreating from the desk. "I was just here yesterday"
"Your last client was a month ago. You left with him." Jade leaned over the desk, the cameras couldn't be denied, there she was in lingerie covered by a fur coat, doting. The date in the corner. The 5th of May. In the right-hand corner of the screen, the current date only proved the receptionist wasn't lying. Jade ran her hands through her hair, inhaling and exhaling at rapid speeds. Six's optics could notice the pulse quicken, an expected reaction as she reached out for the receptionist only to be grabbed by security. "You've gotta' help me. My doll chip broke." There was only so much Jade could get out before security grabbed her and threw her out the door. The receptionist dusted herself off turning to Six.
"Any pleasure we can offer you tonight? We have a wide variety of dolls. I imagine you're looking for someone with a full body sculpt." Six was already out the door. Jade was curled into a ball against the barrier, hiding her face behind her knees. Six had to crouch down
"How do we get you a home then?"
"I need money. I need a job." Jade's eyes glanced at a thug's tattoo's on the way past, a baseball bat in one hand, as they banged on the door.
"You're still a doll, maybe someone could pay you?"
"And get murdered? No. I don't want that." Jade turned away, wrapping her arms around herself, looking over the edge of the megatower.
"If I make sure no punk does anything?"
"No. I don't…I lost a month. I can't remember jack, I don't If that happens again. Oh God.". Six tapped their foot. This was taking too long. Humans always this difficult?
"We could start sending your application for jobs at an internet café?"
"Then wait a day to get a rejection, that's even if they get back. Even if I do get a job. A month for my paycheck. Enough time to die on the street. I need money now."
"Rob people"
"Do I look like the kind of person who can mug people? I don't even have a gun." Jade saw the matte plastic of a pistol in Six's coat, averting her eyes.
"You though…you're like a merc right?"
"I work for Arasaka." Jade stood up only to instantly slouch down again and groan. The mention of the corporation got a little attention as the kid with the baseball bat ceased knocking on people's doors. They dropped the weapon and left, as those within listening distance retreated behind a door.
"Ever thought of merc work?" Jade looked up to Six up and down, the broad shoulders, the coat, the fact they were taller than most men, the unblinking optics. "You're intimidating."
"Thank you? I guess?"
"But you're Arasaka."
"And?"
"You saw the elevator, no one wants to work with a Saka suit.
"Your point?"
"What if I helped you get a job? On the streets. I'll split the money, I get a room for the night. You keep the money, half and half." Jade wiped her hand on her jeans and held it out to Six. It was more money for Six as they took her hand. Cold metal against warm skin. Jade winced, making a hiss of pain from Six's grip, as they had to pull their hand back leaving a mark, but she had no other safe options.
"After seeing the display on the ground floor, street life could be fun. One question. Where do we look for work?" Six pressed the elevator, Jade behind him, as he tapped his foot and checked his watch.
"We're heading to JigJig Street." Jade held her head up, for a second. She slouched in the elevator, turning her eyes to look at Six who stared forwards, staring down, as Jig Jig street was at the bottom, It was a fitting place for Fingers to work. Fingers would definitely have something. Clouds had broken dolls and Fingers always needed cheap parts.
Author's note
So I decided to do a reboot and give My Title a less edgy name, you'll find a few things the same, a few things different if you're a new reader Hello if you're old. I guess I'm a coward and decided to start again. We learn from failure and I learned not to rush things out. I've been trying to read this through, but as I have no proof reader. I'm afraid of my usual flaws get in the way, I just hope my reading has been thorough. I'm trying to be a bit more descriptive, while still keeping my fast paced writing out there. It's hard to get this balance between, showing not telling and telling what I can't show.
