Chapter 1: A Fated Witch and a Warden

"Oof!" A young woman grunted while falling through the air as she was about to crash against the ground when suddenly a young man swoops in and caught her mid-air as they landed on the ground, and he places her down gently.

The young girl is a medium-size 17-year-old beautiful Witch with tan skin, long teal-colored hair, gray/greenish eyes, and a dark beauty mark below her left eye. Her outfit consisted of a white top with flared half-sleeves surmounted by a purple yoke decorated with a yellow star over a dark grey long skirt, dark grey leggings, and black boots. On her head, she wears a floppy, white, pointed, broad-brimmed hat surrounded by a gold coronet. She also carries a white staff with a huge blue crystal at the top. Her name is Azura.

The young warlock is a tall, handsome, 18-year-old Warlock with emerald green eyes, Caucasian skin, long black hair tied up into a ponytail, a muscular built, and a chiseled chin. His outfit consisted of a long black duster with gold, a crimson shirt, black cargo pants, a black Stetson hat, and carries a long wooden staff with a red crystal on one end and a blade on the other. His name is Ordan.

"Are you okay, Azura?" Ordan asked worriedly as Azura smiled at him.

"I'm okay, Ordan." She says before growing serious as she and Ordan saw a giant, purple snake-like monster named Gildersnake glaring at them with his glowing yellow eyes.

"Foolish, humans! I could swallow you both whole!" Gildersnake says with a terrifying hiss, but the duo wasn't afraid as they smirked at him.

"Don't underestimate us, just because we're humans, Gildersnake." Ordan says while crossing his arms as Azura nodded firmly

"That's right because we are the warriors of peace! The Good Witch Azura and the Good Warlock Ordan!" Azura says determinedly as she and Ordan suddenly crouched down, and slammed their staffs together, merging them into a huge wooden staff as they grabbed it and aimed towards the giant snake's mouth.

"Now, eat this, sucker!" Azura and Ordan yelled as they fired a giant fireball that raced towards the terrified-looking snake monster.

"No! My only weakness...dying!" Gildersnake yelled as the giant fireball collided against his body, and a big explosion occurred.

"...and that's the end." A young teenage girl says cheerfully while sitting in a principal office with another teenager, two adults, and the principal as she and the teenager were holding a couple of dolls resembling Azura and Ordan and the young girl had a small snake wrapped around her neck.

The young girl is a 16-year-old Dominican-American with tan skin, C-Cup Breasts, a thick ass, dark brown hair, and hazel-brown eyes. Her outfit consisted of a pair of ebony earrings, a white/indigo hoodie with cat ears attached to the hood, a gray top underneath, high-waisted gray jean shorts, dark gray leggings, and a pair of white slip-on shoes. Her name is Luz Noceda.

The teenager is a 16-year-old boy with icy blue eyes, Caucasian skin, and short blonde hair. His outfit consisted of a grey hoodie with dragon horns attached to the hood, a black T-shirt with a gold dragon design on it underneath, ripped blue jeans, and converse shoes. Over his ears are a pair of large headphones. His name is Ardyn Pierce.

The adult is a 36-year-old Dominican-American with tan skin, dark brown hair kept up in a bun, and light brown eyes. Her outfit consisted of a Health Care uniform with thick, red-framed glasses and has stud earrings on both of her ears. Her name is Camila Noceda, Luz's mother.

The other adult is a 40-year-old man with green eyes, Caucasian skin, and short, spikey blond hair. His outfit consisted of a purple T-shirt with black jeans and brown shoes. His name is David Pierce, Ardyn's uncle.

The principal is not that important to the story, so let's move on.

"The end to what?" Camila asked, referring to what Luz was saying as the young teenager smiled at her.

"Our book reports. I think we really knocked it out of the park, eh, Ardyn?" Luz asked while nudging Ardyn's side as he nodded before flinching as he noticed the adults glaring at the duo.

"Guys, your book report is the reason why you both are in trouble," David says with a tired sigh as Luz tilted her head confusedly.

"What do you mean about that?" Luz asked as she then heard screaming in the background and turned around to see multiple students running around panickily with snakes biting their heads. "Oh, that's where the backup snakes were."

"I told you using real snakes was a bad idea. We should've used fake ones." Ardyn chided as Luz smiled.

"But that wouldn't have been as fun," Luz says as Camilia coughed, getting their attention as she kneels and holds up a firecracker.

"And what were you going to do with this?"

"...That was for the Act Three closer." Luz and Ardyn said sheepishly as the principal gave the parents a disbelief look, and they smiled at him sheepishly before turning to their children as they gave him stern looks.

"Mija, Ardyn, we love your creativity, but it's getting out of hand," Camila says as David nods.

"Yeah, and this isn't the first time that your imaginations got you both in trouble. Do you two remember the time you both tried out for the school play?" David asked while crossing his arms as the teenagers flinched.

~[Flashback 1]~

We then see Luz and Ardyn trying out for the part of Romeo and Juliet in their school play...but they were taken their roles a little too seriously.

"Juliet! No!" Ardyn yelled while running across the stage while wearing a Romeo costume as he kneels to a 'dead' Luz, who was wearing a Juliet costume. "I have no reason to live anymore!" Ardyn screamed as he chugged down a vial of deadly poison, Hawaii punch, and pretended to choke. Spooking the heck out of the other students as Ardyn ran around the stage while gagging dramatically as he took a deep breath, and his eyes rolled to the back of his head as he fell on the stage, and 'died'.

"Ugh, Romeo?" Luz asked while waking up as she saw Ardyn laying on the floor with his eyes closed and gasped in horror as she crawled over to him. "Romeo, no! I was only faking my death to see you, I didn't mean for this to happen, my love!" Luz cried out while hugging Ardyn 'dead corpse' close to her body, causing Ardyn to blush slightly as Luz began crying. "Oh, my Romeo, I'm so sorry!" She sobbed before noticing Romeo's wooden dagger laid on the floor as Luz's eyes narrow in determination.

"I will see you in Heaven, my love! Oh, heavy dagger give me death!" Luz yelled as she stabbed herself with Romeo's dagger and ripped open her shirt as her 'guts' spilled out. Everyone in the theater room screamed in horror as they ran out of the room, and Luz opens her eyes as she looks around. "Huh, you were right. The fake guts were a little too much."

"Told you so!" Ardyn mumbled beside her.

~[End of Flashback 1]~

"Or what about your little science project?" Camila asked as Luz and Ardyn shuddered at the memory.

~[Flashback 2]~

We then see Luz and Ardyn standing in front of their science class as they were presenting their new science project, which was a fake hybrid between a pigeon and a squirrel, to the class.

"Now for the final anatomically correct touch...spider breath!" Luz says while opening the chimera's beak as it spewed out hundreds of spiders that crawled around Luz and Ardyn's bodies as their classmates screamed in fear.

"Don't worry, the spiders are harmless! We made sure of that!" Luz says reassuringly as Ardyn nodded before noticing something odd about the spiders as he looked at one closely, and his face paled.

"Luz, what kind of spiders did you get?" Ardyn asked frighteningly as Luz raised an eyebrow.

"The rose hair tarantula, the most friendly and docile spiders around, why?" Luz asked as Ardyn pointed his trembling hand at one of the spiders.

"Then why do they have crimson red markings like the ones Black Widows have?" He asked as Luz blinks at him, and looks down at the many spiders crawling around her as she noticed that nearly all of them were Black Widows.

"Just relax and they won't bite. They will only bite if you freakout."

"...AAAAAHHHH!"

~[End of Flashback 2]~

"Or the time you tried out for the cheerleading squad?" Camila asked Luz, who groaned at the memory.

"And the time you tried out for the football team?" David asked Ardyn, who winced at the memory.

~[Flashback 3]~

We then see Luz standing in the school gym while wearing a cheerleader outfit as she was participating in the school cheerleading tryouts. After watching a girl doing a perfect backflip, it was finally Luz's turn as everyone glanced over at the Dominican-American girl, who grinned at them as she tossed away her pom-poms.

"You think that's an impressive trick? Look at this." Luz says as she pulled back her eyelids, much to the disgust of everyone around them as she grins at them. A few minutes later, Luz was tossed out of the gym as she landed on the ground, and the cheerleaders promptly shut the doors closed.

"I wonder if Ardyn is having better luck than I am," Luz says before yelping as a group of football players ran past her while screaming in fear as a distraught Ardyn appeared. "What happened to you?"

"Well, remember that fake vampire head you gave me for my birthday?" Ardyn asked as she nodded. "Well, I may have pulled a little prank that went a little too far."

"Yeah, my thing didn't go so well either. Do you think we'll get in trouble?" Luz asked just as the principal appeared as he glared at them, and they flinched.

"That's a yes." Ardyn said in deadpan tone, annoyed as Luz shrugs sheepishly before yelping as she and Ardyn were dragged over to the principal's office.

~[End of Flashback 3]~

"Okay we get it."

"Kids, we all love that you express yourselves, but if you two can't learn to separate fantasy from reality, then you two may need to spend your summer here," Camila says while pulling out a pamphlet of a summer camp named, Reality Check.

"Wha- Summer camp?! Oh, hell no!" Ardyn asked in horror as he turned to his uncle for help, only to frown as his uncle shakes his head.

"I talked about it with Camilia, and I think it's a good idea that you and Luz go to this summer camp," David says as Ardyn was about to protest but promptly shuts up as David continues. "Now, I know you don't like sudden changes, thanks to your condition, but you have to go. It's for the best." David says as Ardyn groans before smiling as Luz wrapped her arm around his shoulder.

"Ah, don't worry, Ardyn. You will not be alone, I will be there for you every step in the way." Luz says, causing Ardyn to smile as Luz turned to the adults. "And don't worry, Mom, Mr. Pierce, we won't let you down. No more weirdness!" Luz exclaimed just as the snake suddenly sprang into life as he leaped towards the principal and began biting him as he screamed in terror.

"...That doesn't count, right?" Luz asked sheepishly as the adults shake their heads exasperatedly, and Ardyn rushed in to help the principal.

A few hours later, we see Luz and Ardyn standing in front of Luz's home with their parents as they were waiting for the bus to show up.

"Uncle David, isn't there any way out of this?" Ardyn asked, still not wanting to go to summer camp as David sighed and went down to his nephew's eye level as he gave him a stern, yet loving look.

"Ardyn, I know that this is a big change for you, but just think all of the great things that you learn in Camp Reality Check. Heck, you may even learn how to socialize better with people and make new friends." David says cheerfully as Ardyn still looks doubtful, causing David to sigh as he rested his hand on his shoulder. "Just promise me that you will try your best and at least try out the camp for me? If you don't like it, you can return anytime you want." He says reassuringly as Ardyn sighed but nodded as his uncle ruffles his hair. "Atta boy," David says with a smile as Ardyn smiled back and turned his head to see Luz talking with her mother.

"Oh, my baby!" Camila says while hugging her daughter as she gave her a kiss on her forehead. "Now, don't worry. Summer Camp is only going to be for three months. You'll be so busy balancing checkbooks and learning to appreciate public radio, the time will fly by!"

"But Mom, I don't like any of that stuff. I like editing anime clips to music and reading fantasy books with convoluted backstories." Luz says while showing her mom her Azura and Ordan fantasy book as Camilia frowns.

"Mija, your fantasy world is holding you back. Do you have any friends?" Camila asked as Luz opens her mouth. "Who isn't Ardyn?" She asked as Luz closes her mouth with a pout.

"See what I mean? Summer Camp is a chance to make some friends, but you must try. Can you do that?" Camila says as Luz frowns sadly, but nods.

"Yes, Mom," Luz says as she walked over to a nearby trash bin and, with a heavy sigh, dumped her book on it.

"There's one more thing that I would like to give you before you head off to summer camp, sport." David said as he pulls out a small box from his bag. The box was made from the sturdiest of wood is decorated by metal Norse outlines in a silver coating. "This belonged to your mother. Before her passing, she told me and my brother/your father that when you turn at 17 this summer, We should give this to you, but since your father passed away in Syria, I believe now is the right time."

Ardyn was shocked that he has a memento from his mother whom he didn't know much about her and now he received a gift from her as he slowly takes the box from his uncle as he gives him a small smile of appreciation. "Thanks Uncle David. I will give this place a try…"

"You're making the right choice, you two." Camila says to Luz before hearing her phone vibrate as she pulls it out. "Oh, I got to go to work." She says before walking over to Luz as she kisses her cheek repeatedly.

"Your bus is coming soon. Text me when you get there." Camila says before walking away with David as both adults waved goodbye at their children.

"Bye, Ardyn! Look after Luz!"

"Bye, Luz! Look after Ardyn! Cuidansen muchos niños! Espero que te vaya bien el viaje!" Camila yelled out the last part in her native language before she and David left for their respective jobs.

"Bye, Mom!" Luz yelled as she waved at her mother.

"Bye, Uncle David!" Ardyn shouted as he places the box in his backpack before turning to Luz as he raised an eyebrow at her.

"You're going to get your book back, right?"

"Heck yeah, now help me find it," Luz says as Ardyn nodded, and they ran over to the trash bin as they rummaged through it but couldn't find the book.

"Where is it? Where is it?" Luz asked frantically before hearing a hooting sound in front of them as the kids poked their heads out and were surprised to see an owl carrying Luz's book in a bag filled with other junk on his beak. "Tiny trash thief!" Luz shouted as the owl turned around and clumsily flew into the forest near Luz's house as the young girl narrowed her eyes in anger.

"Get back here, you little thief!" Luz yelled while chasing after the owl as she entered the forest.

"Luz! Wait!" Ardyn shouted as he chased after Luz and managed to keep up with her as they ran across the forest before arriving at a small, abandoned house placed in the middle of the woods as the owl flew in through the door. The kids were a bit spook about the house, but then Luz steeled her nerves as she tightened her fists and ran into the house.

"Luz! Ugh, damnit!" Ardyn yelled as he ran in after her, and they both entered the house as the door closed behind them, and the whole house was covered in a yellow glow before dying down. The kids didn't notice the glow as they were still chasing after the owl, who had somehow opened a door with a huge eye on it as they followed him.

"Stop adorably flying away, you-Huh?" Luz says before stopping as she noticed that she was inside of a tent filled with all sorts of weird items. "Whoa, and I thought Ardyn and I had a lot of weird stuff. But this is impressive." Luz says while admiring a weird doll with a coat hanger stuck to his head as it has a fake lizard body attached to it.

"Luz, there you are!" Ardyn says, running into the tent as he glared at her sternly. "You can't just run into a house like that-wait, where are we?" Ardyn says while appearing behind Luz as he looks around in awe. "Whoa, and I thought we had a lot of weird stuff, but this is next level," Ardyn says as Luz smiled.

"That's what I said!" Luz says just as the doll suddenly sprung into the life, and tried to bite Luz, who yelped as Ardyn reacted quickly and bashed it away with a nearby fake leg.

"What the hell was that?!"

"Finally, you're back." A woman's voice rang out, causing the teenagers to flinch as they dropped down to the floor, and crawled over to the front of the tent as Luz pulled back the flaps, and the duo was surprised to see a tall, white-skinned woman inspecting the bag that the owl was carrying with a disinterested look on her face.

The woman is a 45-year-old, tall, slender, Witch with ivory skin, pointy ears, maroon lips, a single golden fang, orange claw-like nails, an oval amber gem on her sternum, and golden eyes. She also has long, thick, untamed white hair and is layered with two shades of grey. Her outfit consisted of a sleeveless two-tone maroon dress with a ripped-like hem design, two orange spherical earrings, an amber spherical ring, grey leggings, and marron high-heeled boots. And she also carries a long brown staff. Her name is Eda Clawthorne.

"Now, let's see what we've got here," Eda says as she held out her staff, and the owl perched on it as it turned into a statue. Eda tightened the owl into her staff as the children gasped in wonder and Eda began rummaging through her bag.

"Garbage," Eda says as she pulls out a smartphone and throws it away.

"Garbage," Eda says as she pulls out a ring with a huge diamond on it and tossed it away.

"Garbage," Eda says as she pulls out what looks like to be the Holy Grail, and promptly poured the contents into the ground as she tossed it away.

"What's this?" Eda asked herself as she pulled out a small vial filled with purple liquid as she noticed that there was a note attached to it and opens it as she reads it. "Cure to the Coronavirus...what the hell is a Coronavirus? Meh." Eda says in a bored tone while tossing the vial away as she rummages through the bag again, and gasped.

"Now this..." Eda says as she pulls out...a pair of goofy glasses with fake eyeballs and puts them on as she smirked. "This will make me rich! And this..." Eda says as she pulls out Luz's book, causing the duo to gasp as Eda stared at the book unimpressively.

"And this… Well, this'll make good kindling," Eda says as she was about to burn the book with a nearby candle but stopped as Luz suddenly stormed out of the tent and ran over to the startled witch.

"Excuse me, sorry, it's mine, thank you!" Luz says rapidly as she grabbed the book from out of Eda's hands and ran back into the tent as she grabbed Ardyn's hand. "Quick, let's get out of here!"

"You don't have to tell me twice!" Ardyn says as they turned around and were about to run out of the door but stopped as it was promptly closed and disappeared. "Oh, that's not good," Ardyn says meekly as he and Luz turned around and trembled in fear as they saw Eda glaring at them through her goofy glasses.

"You brats aren't going anywhere," Eda says while taking off her stupid glasses as she got a good look at the kids and raised an eyebrow at Ardyn. "Huh, why does that kid look so familiar?" Eda thought to herself as the kids yelped, and Ardyn thought quickly as he raised the flaps of the tent, and he and Luz then proceeded to escape through it as they ran a few feet away from the tent before stopping as they gasped at the sight before them. What lays before them is something right out of their fantasy books as they saw a small village with a castle looking over it, and all kinds of magical beings and monsters were seen walking around the village.

"Oh, no, no, no, no! What's going on, Ardyn?" Luz says while hugging Ardyn in fear as he did the same.

"I have no idea, Luz, but this is freaking me out!" Ardyn says just as a small cute purple fairy fly in as the teenagers slightly calmed down at the sight of it.

"Oh, hello, little fairy. Are you going to tell me this is all a fantastical dream were having...at the same time?" Luz asked hopefully as the fairy smiled at them before smiling evilly as she opened her mouth, exposing all her sharp teeth.

"Give me your skins!" The fairy shouted cutely as Luz screamed in fear, and Ardyn quickly reacted as he smacked the fairy down the cliff.

"Where are we?! Did we die!? Are we in Heaven...or Hell?" Luz asked nervously as Ardyn was about to speak up, but screamed as Eda suddenly appears behind them, and grabbed the kids by their hoodies as she glared at the frightened teenagers.

"You wish," Eda says as she dragged them over to a pair of small chairs and tossed them into it as they hugged each other in fear.

"We're so sorry! We just wanted my book back! If you're going to eat my skin, just make it quick! Just do it now!" Luz says while closing her eyes as she raised her hand.

"No! Eat mine!" Ardyn screamed while holding Luz protectively as Eda eyed the cowering kids oddly.

"Eat you? Why would I eat... potential customers?" Eda says cheerfully while showing off her stand with a sign that says 'Human Collectibles' as the teens slowly blinked in disbelief. "Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes?" Eda asked while showing Luz a pair of green crocks before turning to Ardyn.

"Or maybe offer you a bar of candy for your little girlfriend?" Eda suggested while pulling out a deodorant for men as the teenagers blushed heavily.

"She's not my girlfriend/He's not my boyfriend!" Luz and Ardyn said in embarrassment as Eda rolled her eyes with an amused grin.

"Sure, whatever you say. Anyway, can I offer you lovebirds this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?" Eda says while showing them a portable small TV as the teens blinked before laughing as Eda raised an eyebrow. "What's so funny?" Eda asked, slightly annoyed as Luz and Ardyn stood up, and walked over to her.

"That's not all it can do. Ardyn, give me a hand with the TV."

"On it." Ardyn says as he grabbed the TV from Eda's hands while Luz grabs some nearby batteries from a small bowl marked 'Human Candy' as she then placed the batteries into the TV and Ardyn, turned it on as the TV sprang into life and showed a man exercising as dance music rang out.

"Huh?"

"What's that?"

"The sound, it's so...alluring!"

"I'll pay 40 snails for the screaming box!"

"I'll give you a hundred!"

"Can I eat the tiny person inside?" Numerous monsters said as they crowded around Eda's stand and threw hundreds of dollars at her face, causing her to slowly grin as she turned to the smiling teenagers.

"What did you say your names were?" Eda asked as the teens beamed.

"I'm Luz. Luz Noceda."

"And I'm Ardyn. Ardyn Pierce." Ardyn says as Eda raised an eyebrow at him.

"Ardyn Pierce...I swear I've heard that name before, but I'm drawing a blank." Eda thought to herself before shrugging as she begins collecting all the money from her customers.

"Well, Luz, Ardyn, that was a pretty clever thing you did...for a couple of humans," Eda says as Luz and Ardyn tilted their heads confusedly.

"That's kind of a weird thing for another human to say," Luz says as Eda grinned and showed off her pointy ears.

"Oh, dear child, I'm not like you at all," Eda says before leaping into her table as she raised her hands dramatically. "I'm Eda the Owl Lady, the most powerful Witch on the Boiling Isles!" Eda exclaimed as Luz gasped in wonder while Ardyn's eyes widen in shock.

"A Witch?" Luz and Ardyn asked in unison as Eda smirked and nodded.

"I am respected, feared-"

"Busted!

"Ah, crud." Eda cursed as she, and the teens turned around and saw one of the Boiling Isle Guards glaring at her as he smashed her TV to bits.

"Run! It's a guard!" One of the monsters screamed as they all ran away in fear, leaving behind Eda and the teens with the guard as he marched over to the ivory-skinned witch.

"Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors!" Guard#1 shouted while showing a wanted poster of her and some weird dog thing as Eda scoffed.

"Whoa! Witch criminal!" Luz says with stars in her eyes as Ardyn grabbed her and pulled her down as they watched the confrontation unfold.

"You are hereby ordered to come with me to the Conformatorium!" Guard#1 says while grabbing her arm as she rolled her eyes.

"Would you guys quit following me around? I haven't done squat!" Eda says while pushing him off as she crossed her arms.

"And you two are coming too..." Guard#1 says while grabbing a startled Luz and Ardyn as Eda narrowed her eyes at the guard. "...for fraternizing with a criminal." He says as the kids panicked.

"W-What?! That's not cool!" Luz yelled as Ardyn squirmed in his grasp and glared at the guard as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pepper spray as he aimed it at the guard's face.

"Have some spice, sucka!" Ardyn shouted as he pressed the trigger and sprayed the guard's eyes as he screamed in pain.

"MY EYES!" The guard yelled while letting go of the kids as he held his face in pain before grunting as Eda suddenly appeared and knocked him down to the floor with her staff as she then turned to Ardyn, and smirked.

"Nice one, kiddo." Eda complimented as Luz gave her a friend a congratulative pat in the back, and Ardyn smiled as he rubs his neck shyly. "Now if you excuse me," Eda says as she raised her hand and suddenly her stand glowed bright yellow as it levitated off the ground.

"Whoops. Can't forget this." Eda says as she pulls out a key with an eye on it from her hair and pressed the eye as a briefcase with an eyeball flew in, and Eda swallowed up her stand into a small green bag as she picked it up. "Follow me, humans!" Eda screamed before running off as the others followed her.

"This is crazy!" Luz yelled as she and Ardyn were barely able to catch up with the surprisingly fast Eda. "If we die here, our parents are going to kill us!"

"I honestly don't know which is a worse fate," Ardyn says nervously as Eda laughed.

"Ha! I won't let them hurt you, kids!" Eda says reassuringly as the kids smiled. "A pair of humans like you are much more valuable to me alive than dead!" Eda says as Ardyn sweatdropped.

"Well, that's reassuring," Ardyn says with an annoyed tone as Luz raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Wait, what's that supposed to-," Luz says, but Eda didn't let her finish as she threw her staff in the air and grabbed on to the kids as she then leaped towards the staff and landed on it.

"Whoo-hoo!" Eda cheered as they took off into the air just as Guard#1 appeared, stumbling his way through the village as he was still affected by the pepper spray.

"You won't get away with this, Owl Lady!" Guard#1 screamed into the heavens as he tried to reach out to grab them blindly, only to touch air as he screams in frustration. "WHEN THE HELL IS THIS STUPID SPICE SUPPOSED TO WEAR OFF!?" He screamed as he ran around madly before hitting a nearby post, knocking the poor guy out.

Meanwhile, with the gang, we see them soaring across the sky via Eda's staff as the witch looks down and smiled in amusement as she saw Luz and Ardyn hugging each other in fear with their eyes closed.

"You can open your eyes now humans," Eda says as the teens slowly opened their eyes and yelped as they realized that they were flying hundreds of feet in the air.

"Okay, so we're in a world filled with flying staffs, crazy monsters, and you're a witch criminal?" Ardyn asked Eda, who nodded as he smiled. "If this was a dream, I'd be disappointed when I wake up." He says as Eda laughed.

"Sorry to spoil your little bubble, kids, but this is as real as you can get! Welcome to the Boiling Isles!" Eda says while raising her hands in the air dramatically as Luz and Ardyn soak up the environment before them. "All myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours," Eda explains as a griffin, who looks exactly like the science project Luz and Ardyn made, shows up and screeches as Luz smiled.

"A griffin!" She exclaimed as the griffin screeches again and barfed out a colony of spiders. "See? I told you they spew out spiders, and you didn't believe me." Luz says to Ardyn with a smug tone as he playfully rolled his eyes and turned to Eda.

"So, everything the human race had made up is real?" Ardyn asked curiously as she nodded.

"Oh, yeah, totally. Griffins, gargoyles, vampires, werewolves, dragons, giraffes-"

"Wait a moment, giraffes? But they're from our world." Ardyn says as Eda shakes her head.

"No, we had banished them to your world because they are a bunch of freaks," Eda says with a sneer as she suddenly dives them down and landed in the middle of a forest as Eda jumped off her staff, and accidentally detached her hand as the kids freaked out. "Oops. That happens sometimes." Eda says, more annoyed than horrified of having her arms detached as she grabs her hand and attaches it back to her body as the kids recover from the sudden scare.

"Well, I can safely say that me and my friend had enough adventure for today. This is clearly not the PG fantasy world we've always dreamed about." Luz says as Ardyn nods.

"Yeah, so you can take us home now?" Ardyn asked as she smiled.

"Sure..." Eda says as the kids beamed. "...but only after you two help me first." She says with a cackle as Luz and Ardyn glared at her, and she winked at them teasingly.

"Now, come along, humans," Eda says before turning around as she begins to walk away.

"Hey, wait! You forgot your bag!" Ardyn says while pointing the green bag in front of him as Eda nonchalantly used her magic to levitate the bag over to her.

"Whoa." Luz and Ardyn said in unison as they turned to look at each other and grinned as they followed the Owl Lady. After a few minutes of walking, the gang had arrived at a small house with an owl plastered on the door as they walked up to it while dodging a laughing owl that flew past them as they arrived at the perch.

"Aren't you worried about those guards finding us?" Luz asked worriedly as Eda waved off her concerns.

"Nope. My house has a state-of-the-art defense system." Eda says before turning to the door as the owl sprang to life and begins talking.

"Hoot-hoot! Password, please-Aah!" The Owl Door says before yelping in pain as Eda stabbed his eyes with her fingers.

"We got no time for this, Hooty. Let us in." Eda says as Hooty glared at her.

"All right, all right! Geez! You never want to have any fun! Ow! Hoot!" Hooty says as he opens his mouth and it expanded it as he opened the door, and the gang walked through as Hooty closes his mouth with a burp.

"Humans, welcome to..." Eda says before pausing a bit as she snaps her fingers. "...the Owl House..." Eda says before pausing again as the house light up to show off its interior as the kids gasped in wonder. "...where I hide away from the pressures of modern life...also the cops...and also ex-boyfriends." Eda says with a chuckle as Luz and Ardyn explore her house.

"This place is beautiful," Luz says as Ardyn nodded numbly, and turned to Eda.

"Do you live here all alone?" Ardyn asked just as thudding footsteps were heard as the kids panicked while Eda rolled her eyes.

"Actually, I have roommates," Eda says blankly.

"Roommates? Does that mean-"

"Who dares intrude upon, I..." A deep demonic voice rang out, spooking the heck out of the kids as they turned to the doorway and saw a large shadow slowly making its way to the door. Luz hugs Ardyn tightly, causing him to blush madly as the thing crept closer to the doorway to reveal...a small dog-like creature appearing in front of them as he looks like he just got out of the shower. "...the king of demons?" He asked in a normal voice as he squeezed his rubber duck, and the teenagers slowly blinked at him in surprise.

The small being is a canine-like creature with mostly dark grey fur, although his torso and the tip of his tail are covered in light grey fur. He has pink eyes with yellow sclera, three fingers, and two toes (Excluding his thumbs) that look like white claws. His outfit consisted of a red collar with a yellow tag and a dog-like skull with horns with one of them being broken. And since he got out of the shower, he had a couple of light blue towels with duck-like designs on them wrapped around his head and torso. His name is King.

"Well, that was anti-climatic," Ardyn says with a sweat drop as Luz gasped and lets go of her friend as she stared at King with hearts in her eyes, and a blush.

"!Ay, que lindo!" Luz exclaimed in her native language as she rushed over and grabbed King as she brought him into a hug. "Eda, he's so cute! Who's a widdle guy? Who's a widdle guy? Is it you? Is it you?" Luz asked King with a baby-like voice as he panics and tries to escape from her grasp.

"No! I don't know who your little guy is!" King exclaimed, scared/confused about the situation as she snuggles against his cheek, and coed. "Eda, who is this monster?" Kind asked Eda, who was amused with seeing her roommate squirm as she walks forwards and grabbed Luz as she pried the human off the small demon.

"This is Luz," Eda says while gesturing at Luz, who was trying her best to reach King and hug him to death as Eda then gestured over to Ardyn. "And that is Ardyn. They're both human, and they're both here to help us with our little...situation." Eda says while putting Luz down as both teens looked confused about what she said.

"Oh! hooray!" King cheered, but the teens shake their heads as they turned to Eda.

"Wait, wait, wait, I don't like the sound of this 'situation'," Luz says as Ardyn nodded, and glared at Eda suspiciously.

"Yeah, what are you planning?" He asked as Eda smirked and was about to explain until…

"KING! What have I told you about leaving water tracks in the house?" A voice spoke out as a man in his late twenties with orange hair that was tied up and pointy ears show up thought the hallway. His appearance is that of a doctor with a pair of white pants, shoes, gloves, and coat with a green t-shirt underneath it. "You don't want me or Eda to slip-Oh I'm sorry! I didn't know we had guest tonight. I would have drinks prepared."

"Don't sweat it, Roman! I was about to explain something to the kids but since you're here might as well introduce you to them. Luz and Ardyn this is Romani Archaman, but you can call him Roman. Roman this is Luz and Ardyn. They're new to the Boiling Isles." Eda introduces the whole group to each other as Romani chuckles as he raises his hand towards the kids.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you two. Welcome to the Boiling Isles." Romani said as Luz and Ardyn shook his hand respectively.

"Pleasure to meet you, Roman. Now Eda what were about to say? About a situation?" Ardyn said as Eda smirked.

"You two don't have to worry your little heads about it, just let me explain," Eda says as she held out her hand, and created a swirling yellow circle that showed the surprised teens a couple of visions. "King was once a mighty King of Demons until his crown of power was stolen, alongside a friend of mines magic item and King became...well, that," Eda says while pointing at King, who was once again being hugged by Luz.

"You mean this little bundle of joy?" Luz says while snuggling an annoyed King's cheek causing Romani to chuckle as Ardyn coughed.

"Luz, can you please pay attention here?" He asked as she nodded and put a relief-looking King down as they turned back to Eda.

"The crown is being held by the evil Warden Wrath and locked away behind a magical force field that only a human can breakthrough, humans like you," Eda says before turning off her magic circle as she smiled at the kids. "If you help us retrieve King's, and my friend's things, we'll send you two back to your realm. So, what do you say? Plus, who could say no to this cute little face?" Eda says while picking up King, who squirmed in her grasp.

"No! Please don't encourage her!" King says as Eda then promptly dropped him to the floor.

"So, will you help us?" Eda asked the kids, who gave her unsure looks.

"Well, seeing as we're trapped in a magical realm with you being the only one able to transport us home, we kind of have no other choice, but to join you, right?" Ardyn asked with a deadpanned look as Romani nodded with a smile.

"Yep, you catch on pretty quick young man. You guys have fun." Romani says as he heads back into his room while Eda grabbed Luz like she weighed nothing and walked out of her house with Ardyn following them.

"Soon, Mr. Ducky, we shall drink the fear of those who mocked us!" King says to his rubber ducky before tossing it away as he followed Eda.

"Where are we going?" Luz asked.

"Somewhere super fun," Eda answered vaguely as she closes the door behind her.

"The Conformatorium!" Eda announced while hiding behind a wall with King and the scared kids as they were standing in front of a huge building near the outskirts of the village. "A place for those considered 'unsuitable' for society," Eda says while rolling her eyes as Ardyn looked at her with a deadpan expression.

"You have a very odd way of saying that this place is super fun." Ardyn said in a deadpan tone as Luz spotted another one of Eda's wanted posters.

"Whoa. These guys really have the hots for you."

"Yeah, but who doesn't?" Eda asked arrogantly while winking at the kids as they stared back at her, deadpanned. "But we were never caught because we're too slippery." She says as King nodded while perched on Luz's head.

"Try to catch me when I'm covered in grease. I'm a squirmy little fella." He says before jumping out of Luz's head as King landed on the ground.

'Yeah, until you get lit of fire.' Ardyn thought darkly as King pointed to a tower of the Conformatorium.

"You two and I will sneak up to the top of the tower, where they're holding my crown."

"And my dear friend's stuff, remember?" Eda asks while glaring at him as he waved her off.

"Yeah, sure," King says as Ardyn turned to Eda curiously.

"That reminds me, who is your friend exactly?" Ardyn asked, causing Eda to freeze up as she glared at him.

"None of your damn business!" Eda shouted, spooking Ardyn as her gaze soften. "Ah, sorry for scaring you kid, it's just that...she passed away a couple of years ago, and it's a sore subject for me," Eda says with a solemn look on her face as Ardyn nod understandably.

"It's okay, I understand how you feel. My Mom died when giving birth to me, and my dad died in battle overseas." Ardyn says sadly as he looks down, and Eda gave him a sympathetic look as she placed her hand on his shoulder comfortably.

"Sorry for your loss kid," Eda says before shaking her head as she clapped her hands. "Alright, enough mushy talk, let's get this train rolling," Eda says before walking over to Luz, who was too distracted with King to hear their conversation as Ardyn followed the white-skinned witch.

"Humans, you two will enter the Conformatorium while I will make sure to keep the Warden distracted," Eda says as Luz turns to her, and gasped in excitement.

"Will we need disguises?"

"Uh..." Eda says while looking away unsurely as Luz beams.

"I will take that as a yes. I've been waiting to use this." Luz says as she puts on her hood and showed off her cat ears. "Meow, meow. Now, you try Ardyn." Luz suggested as Ardyn puts on his hood, showing off his horns as Eda and King stared at the teenagers awkwardly. He gave of a deep growl from his throat at what he was doing.

"...It's hideous." King says, breaking the silence as Ardyn glared at him, and bonked him on the head as he yelped, and Eda smiled.

"Oh, you'll fit right in," Eda says before slamming her staff on the ground as she created a circular, yellow platform below Ardyn and the others as she smirked. "Hang on tight," Eda says as she mentally raised the platform and watched in satisfaction as King and the Teens were sent flying to the top of the Conformatorium as the platform disappeared, and they screamed as Ardyn grabbed on to a nearby window, and Luz and King held on to him tightly.

"Meet you guys later!" Eda hollered before flying off with staff as Ardyn grunted, struggling to pull him and his friends up as Luz thought quickly and climbed up his body as she landed inside the building, and King did the same.

"Oh, thanks for helping me, guys. Really appreciate it." Ardyn says sarcastically as Luz quickly went to help her friend and pulled him inside. "Uncle David was right, I do need to exercise more," Ardyn says to himself as King laughed at him.

"Ha, ha, you're weak!" King says as Ardyn glared at him and bonked him again while Luz ignored the boy's antics as she looks around the building in awe.

"Hey, cat lady, dragon boy. How did you two get out of your cell?" A female voice asked, bringing the trio's attention as they turned around to see a woman with pointy ears smirking at them. The pointy-eared girl is a 25-year-old non-human creature with dark skin, a slim built, black hair pulled back into a ponytail, and small fangs. Her outfit consisted of a purple shirt/dress which bares her shoulders and covers all her upper arms and about half of her forearms, and she also wears a golden band around her neck. Her name is Katya.

"Oh, no, no, no, I'm not a cat, and my friend is not a dragon," Luz says as she and Ardyn took off their hoods.

"And we're also not criminals, I might add," Ardyn says as King smirked at him while perched on Luz's shoulder.

"Not yet, but stick around with us, and you will. You're hanging with the right crowd." King says as the teens rolled their eyes, and Katya scoffed.

"Neither are we, sweethearts, the stupid Warden likes to lock up people who don't fit in. Like, I write fanfics of food falling in love." Katya says while showing them a book with pictures of food falling in love and doing other things which caused an embarrassed Ardyn to cover a blushing Luz's eyes.

"I like food, I like love...just let me write about it, dammit!" She yelled while kicking the wall in frustration. Before they can ask what, he meant by that, another prisoner spoke up. The prisoner is a 24-year-old monster with light blue skin, light blue eyes with orange sclera, pointy ears, and wears a pair of red pants with no shoes. But the most interesting part about him was that his head was covered with eyes. His name is Eye-eating prisoner.

"I'm here because I like eating my own eyes." Eye-eating prisoner says before taking out one of his eyes as he gulps it down and spawns another eye.

"We are agents of free expression! They will never silence us!" Another monster yelled out as the gang eyed her confusedly. The monster is a 20-year-old small round creature with large blueish eyes, a rather prominent nose, and reddish hair. She's practically just a head with no body as she had tiny limbs coming out of her head. Her name is Tinella Nosa.

"Yeah, she's really big into conspiracy theories." Katya explained to the confused gang.

"Our world is simulation! Everything you know is a lie! He doesn't even exist in the show. He's an OC created by a guy from Fanfiction named, FinalReviewer!" Tinella Nosa yelled while pointing at Ardyn, who raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Who's she talking about?" Luz asked as King shrugs.

"Don't know, but if he writes fanfic, then it means that he has no life whatsoever-Ow!" King says before feeling an invisible force kick him in the butt as he looks around. "Who did that!?"

"Wait. These aren't crimes. None of you actually did anything wrong." Luz says before pausing as she pulled out Eda's wanted poster and stared at it. "You're all just a bunch of weirdos...like me and Ardyn," Luz says softly as Ardyn placed a hand on her shoulder and was about to say something when suddenly the ground started shaking as they heard incoming footsteps.

"It's Warden Wrath! Hide!" Katya yelled as Luz thought quickly and pulled Ardyn into an open cell as she closed it.

"Don't need to tell me twice." Ardyn praised as Luz smiled, and nodded just as the doors were flung open, and Warden Wrath stepped out. Warden Wrath is a 40-year-old humanoid creature with a large muscular built, and his outfit consisted of a hood and a mask with yellow button-like lenses, resembling a medieval doctor. Underneath that, he wears a white sleeveless tunic with brass buttons, a brass badge, a leather belt with a brass buckle, and black trousers tucked into dark purple shoes.

"I can hear you." Warden Wrath says ominously, causing Luz to whimper in fear as Ardyn held on to her protectively.

"Just what are you fools whispering about?" Warden Wrath asked while taking a step forward as he felt something under his feet and looks down as he saw Eda's wanted poster which Luz accidentally dropped and tightened his fist in anger.

"Ah, the Owl Lady." Warden Wrath says with a snarl as he raises his fist, and it formed into a hammer as he then slammed it against the jail cell near the kids, nearly causing them to scream in fright as the warden crushed Eda's wanted poster with his foot. "I'll get my hands on her soon enough."

"Fight against the oppressor! We will resist! We will conquer!" Tinella Nosa yelled as Warden Wrath slowly turned to her and walked up to her as the small monster glared at her. "We will never be afraid of you, you old creep!" She yelled as Warden Wrath stared at her blankly before opening her jail cell as the small monster smiled.

"Hooray! I'm free!" Tinella Nosa says before yelping as Warden Wrath grabbed her and squeezed the life out of her as her muffled pained screams were heard.

"Let this be a lesson to all of you. There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in." He says before walking away with a struggling Tinella Nosa as he locked the door behind him. After the warden left, the gang had come out of their hiding spot as Luz and Ardyn turned to the prisoners and rushed over to free them.

"Don't worry. We can get you out." Luz says while trying to open Katya's jail cell while Ardyn did the same with Eye-eating Prisoner. "I...can't...budge this thing!" Luz yells, failing to pull down to lever as she was too weak to do it herself. "Ardyn! Help me out here!" Luz says as Ardyn nodded, failing as well to open Eye-eating Prisoner, and rushed over to help Luz as they both pulled down the lever, but even with their combined strength, they failed to do so as they cursed in frustration.

"Dang it! Curse our weak nerd arms!" Luz and Ardyn said in unison as Katya sighed softly and gave them a calm smile.

"Just get out of here while you can, kids. Enjoy freedom for us and continue nurturing your love with each other." Katya says passionately as the teens blushed.

"We're not in love with each other!" They yelled as she smirked knowingly.

"Sure, you are." She says as they glared at her for a few seconds before sighing sadly as they walked out of the prison hold and walked through the hallway just as Eda shows up as she flew beside the sad teens.

"Hey, I just checked. The warden is distracted tormenting some tiny creature. He won't be coming around here anytime soon." Eda says with a smirk before frowning as Lucy and Ardyn walked past her without saying a word, and reached a door marked, 'CONTRABAND'.

"My crown! It's close! I can sense its power!" King says while rushing over to the door and trying to open it but failed as Eda smiled and walked up to the quiet teens.

"Aw, he gets so cute when he's thirsty for power."

"It's not fair that they're all in here, they just want to be themselves," Luz says, acting serious for once as Ardyn nodded.

"Yeah, what's so wrong with that. I thought creativity was a good thing, why is it so frowned upon so much?" Ardyn asked Eda, who didn't know what to say to the teens as they heard a grunt and saw King opening the door as he runs in, and Eda sighs as she turned to the teens.

"Come on, let's go help him before he hurts himself."

"Ow!" King says from inside the room.

"Too late," Ardyn says amusingly as he and the others entered the room and saw King ramming his into a giant magical force-field that held all kinds of mystical objects, and other random junk.

"Stop hurting yourself, dingus. We have a couple of humans with us, remember?" Eda reminded him as King blinks.

"Oh, yeah," King says as Luz and Ardyn glanced at each other and nodded as the Dominican-American girl took a deep breath, and entered the force-field first.

"Go ahead, don't be shy," Eda says to Ardyn while waving her hand as he nodded, and stuck his hand into the force field, only to yelp as he pulled back his hand. "What's wrong?" Eda asked worriedly/confusedly/impatiently as Ardyn rubs his hand and giggled.

"It tickled, you didn't tell me that the force-field will tickle me," Ardyn says to Eda confused as the young witch blinks in surprise.

"It's not supposed to tickle-I mean, yeah, it will tickle a bit, but you can power through it. Go on, champ."

"Okay, I will try." Ardyn says before taking a deep breath as he walks through the portal while giggling as King looked up at Eda.

"I thought humans who enter that force-field won't feel anything, what gives?" He asked as she shrugs.

"Don't know, but there's something odd about that boy, and he looks so familiar," Eda says while rubbing her chin in thought as she stared at the force-field suspiciously.

When they made it through to the other side of the light, the two teenagers opened their eyes and saw a mountain of various stuff in front of him. At the top was something shining. The two looked at one another and nodded. Together, they began to climb up the mountain.

Along the way, Ardyn grabbed onto something, and it became loose. Losing his balance, he pulled it out and nearly fell to the ground but managed to grab onto something from the pile.

"Ardyn! are you okay?!" Luz called down, having gotten ahead of him.

Still holding onto what almost made him fall, he looked up to her. "I'm fine! Just go on without me, I'll catch up!" She nodded and continued up. Ardyn then looked at what was in his hand and his eyes widened with amazement and awe to see it was a two-handed battle axe.

The battle axe is that of Norse design with a long-curved handle with leather wrappings at the center, a wooden carving of a sea serpent at the end of the handle, a sharp curved blade that has several runes on it and shines like it was still brand new. Next to it is a shoulder guard that has a holster on the back of that makes it look like it was designed to carry it.

"Oh ho, I'm so keeping this," Ardyn said with a smirk. After putting on the shoulder guard and placing the axe between his back and backpack. He continued to climb with the sword as his new weapon.

It wasn't too long before he and Luz made it to the top together and looked down at the crown with big smiles. However, those smiles disappeared when they saw the crown. "Wait a second," Luz said, "Is this a..."

"...You've got to be kidding me," Ardyn said.

"You stupid, pellet-eating, owl lady!" He shouted at Eda the moment he and Luz stepped out of the barrier. Pulling out his newly found battle axe, he marched up to Eda as she raised her hands in the air. Shocked to see him so angry and with an axe. "We came all this way on this dangerous quest so that you could send us back to our world! Risk our lives! Almost got killed! And you're telling me that it was for THIS!?"

He held out the crown to reveal it was nothing more than a Burger Queen paper crown.

"My crown! Give me! Give me! Give me!" King begged the blonde boy, jumping up and down to try and grab for it. Ardyn glared at him before tossing the crowd aside. King rushed over to it and picked it up. Raising it over his head, he slowly placed it on for dramatic effect. "Yes. Yes! I can feel my powers returning!" He then pointed to a stuffed rabbit. "You, there. Nightmare critter. I shall call you Francois, and you shall be a minion in my army of darkness. Ha‐ha!" He giggled after picking it up.

He then yelped in fear with Ardyn slams the axe into the stone floor. Ardyn took a moment to breathe and catch his breath. Luz then took the moment to ask, "That crown doesn't give him any powers, does it?"

"Uh, no." Eda snicked. Suddenly Ardyn swung the axe at her head, and she ducked down to dodge it. "Whoa, hey! Easy with that thing. Someone could get hurt."

"That's kind of the point of me swinging it at your head!" Ardyn shouted, pointing the blade of the axe at her neck. Furious at the witch as Luz stared at him with wide eyes. "What the hell is wrong with you?! You lied and used us to get a stupid crown that's nothing but paper! Were you ever going to let us go home!?"

"Of course, I was, Ardyn!" Eda exclaimed, pushing the axe blade away. Ardyn wasn't having it and placed the tip between her eyes. Seeing that he wasn't going to lower it, she and held up her free hand and looked at the two teenagers with a serious, but saddened expression. "Oh, look at us, kids. King and I don't have much in this world. We only have each other. So, if that dumb crown is important to him, it's important to me. And besides, us weirdos must stick together, you know?"

Luz looked at Eda in amazement. As for Ardyn, his death glared softened to a sad expression. In a lot of ways, he could relate. He had no one. All he really has is Luz, and even she's all alone in the world. So, with a long sigh, he lowered the axe to the ground. The curved blade dinging against the floor as his shoulders slumped.

"Well, we owe you two one. Now, let's get out of here before the warden finds us and loses his head," Eda said, before a familiar dark familiar came up from behind her. Towering over the witch.

"Too late."

Wrath turned this hand into a scythe and cuts her head off.

Time slowed down for the two teenagers as they watched the head fly in the air, before Luz caught it. She screamed, staring into Eda's face. But then she suddenly came to life again. "Ow! Oh, I hate it when that happens," she said with an annoyed expression.

Ardyn and Luz started to scream.

"Eda! Are you okay?" Luz asked worried as she and Ardyn tried to calm down from the shock.

"Yeah. This just happens when you get older."

"I don't think that works for humans." Ardyn whispers to Eda who looked at him in confusion.

"It doesn't?"

That's then the group noticed Wrath walking towards them

"Finally, I have you cornered, Eda the Owl Lady," he said. Reaching down, he grabbed King's crown off his head, surprising the little demon. Ardyn stood in front of Luz and Eda with his new battle axe as the warden stepped closer to them. King jumped up and down to grab back All the while, the witch's body was trying to find its head. "My guards could never get you, but I knew if I took your pet's toy, you'd come running."

He then crushed King's crown right in front of the demon.

King's eyes widened as his pupils shrank as he watched his crown fall to the ground. "No! My power!" Ardyn scooped him up and held him close with one arm, and the little demon quickly wrapped his arms around his neck. Ardyn then felt something wet on his skin and knew that it was King. He was crying. It saddened him, but it also made the young man want to cut the warden in two.

"What do you want with me?" Eda demanded, also angry for he did to King. "I've never actually broken any of your stupid laws... in front of you."

"I want you..." Wrath walked closer to them, before getting down on one knee and pulled out a...

...a bouquet of flowers?

"...to go out with me."

Eda blinked. "Wha...?"

Luz blinked. "What?"

Ardyn deadpanned. "Are you freaking kidding me?"

"Go, boss!" One of the guards in the room cheered, all of them giving their warden thumbs up for support.

Wrath returned the thumbs up before turning back to Eda. "You've always eluded our capture. You've always been the one who got away. I found that alluring."

"Geez, I thought that little girl was exaggerating when she said you're a creep. You people are messed up," Ardyn said in disgust.

"I hate everything you're saying right now," Luz said, also feeling the same way.

"You brats stay out of this!" Wrath threw the flowers over his shoulder and then shapeshifted his arm into a mass of tentacles. He launched them at the kids.

Ardyn pushed Luz and Eda out of the way, before stepping to the side, dodging the tentacles. He then swung down and chopped off the tentacles. Blood spewing out and onto the floor. Wrath screamed in pain as he stumbled back a bit, clutching his injuries arm as it turned back into a hand. His injury healed. He the growled and glared at Ardyn and looked at the battle axe.

"So, you found the Leviathan Axe," he asked with a snarl. "Never thought I would see that cursed thing again."

At first, Ardyn was confused until realizing that he was talking about his new axe now known as the Leviathan Axe. "Yeah, I did!" He boasted, twirling the Leviathan Axe in his hand. "What're you going to do about it?"

"I'm not going to do anything," Wrath said, before pointing to his left. Ardyn turned and gasped in shock when he saw the guards had captured Luz, King, and Eda's head. "But I can't promise they wouldn't snap your friend's little neck."

Luz's eyes widened before the guard holding her grabbed her head. Making her scream.

"Stop! Okay!" Ardyn begged, placing the Leviathan Axe on his back. "Just, please..."

Wrath turned to the guard holding Eda's head and King and nodded. The guard then tossed Eda's head to him, and the warden caught her by her hair. "So how about it, Owl Lady? The most powerful witch of the Boiling Isles and the feared Warden Wrath. We'd be the strongest power couple ever."

"Dude, that's just wrong in so many ways," Ardyn yelled, before suddenly he was grabbed by Wrath with his tentacles and held high into the sky. This caused the headphones that was covering his ears to fall off revealing slightly pointed ear. Grunting in pain as the warden's grip tightened on him.

"I knew that smell around you was off! Don't think you're getting out of this, hybrid. You're much more valuable alive than dead, but that doesn't mean I can't torture you," said the warden before turning his attention back to Eda. "So, what do you say? I mean, it's‐‐ it's not like you can say no right now."

Eda frowned as she looked worriedly at the kids. Ardyn struggled to break free but stopped when one of the tentacles shapeshifted into a blade and was placed between his eyes. She then looked to Luz, as she was struggled to get out of the guard's hold, just as King was.

Seeing no other alternative, Eda let out a sigh. "All right, Warden. You win. I'd just like to say something first. Come closer." Wrath leaned in a little. "No. Just come a little bit closer." He leaned in closer. "Just..." He got even closer to her head. "Yeah, that's good."

She then stuck out her tongue and blew a loud raspberry in his face. The warden grunted as Eda's spit got on his mask, causing him to loosen his grip on Ardyn. Eda started laughing as he wiped the spit off his mask.

"Impudent wench! Don't you know how many germs are in your mouth?" He complained as he gagged.

"Get over it. You had your guards stalk me, and then you cut off my head. I am not going out with you," she fumed.

"If you don't accept, then I have no choice but to des‐‐" He was cut off when Ardyn grabbed Eda's staff and whacked him in the back of the head. Knocking him down to the ground, unconscious.

At the same time, Eda's body got behind the two guards holding Luz and King, grabbed their heads, and slammed them against each. Getting them to let go of Luz and King.

"Luz!" Ardyn tossed Luz the staff and she caught it. "Grab King! We're leaving!" He shouted, picking up Eda's head. Together, they got on the staff as the owl's wings opened. Luz was in the front, holding the witch's head on her lap. Ardyn was behind her, having King on his shoulder. Eda's body was in the back.

"Expecto... flying? Magicus... escapicus!" Luz exclaimed, trying to get the staff to take off, but it didn't.

Eda looked back at Wrath and saw him getting back up again. "Gun it, magic stick!"

The staff lifted off the ground and started flying out of the room. Just as Warden Wrath stood back up.

"Owl Lady, I won't let you get away again!" Wrath yelled, transforming both of his arms into large masses of tentacles, and used them to carry his body forward. Chasing after them at fast speeds.

Ardyn looked back and saw Wrath following them. He then turned back and as they passed multiple other cells, he saw they were coming upon three familiar ones. "Luz, look!" He yelled, pointing ahead.

Luz saw what he said and nodded. "Eda, lend me a hand!" she exclaimed, raising her hand up. Eda placed her hand on the back of Luz, and together, the two of them pushed up the levers to the three cell doors, releasing the prisoners.

Soon, they slammed the tower entrance doors open and flew out of the prison. The staff pitched up, before nosing down in a dive. Warden Wrath rushed out of the tower and jumped down to follow them. He lashed out his tentacles at them, and hit the back of the staff, knocking them off and sending them crashing.

Ardyn yelled in pain as he's back hit the wall, while holding King tightly to protect him. "Ardyn! Are you alright?" King asked worriedly as he sets him down.

"I'm fine," Ardyn muttered. Warden Wrath landed on the ground and transformed his hand into a scythe.

Eda dug into her hair and pulled out the interdimensional door. "Ardyn...Luz... go back to the human world," she said, tossing them the key.

"What about you guys?" Luz asked worriedly. The rest of the guards were starting to come out to watch the fighting.

"If you think this guy is bad, you should have seen her last boyfriend," King said as he ran to help Eda as she dodged some attacks from Wrath.

"Not my boyfriend." Eda grabbed King and rolled out of the way from a double attack from Wrath. She then rushed over to the teenagers and pushed them onto her staff. "Go! Go!"

"But‐‐ But I‐‐"

Eda didn't give them a chance to speak as she slapped the back of the staff, and it took off with the kids on it.

"Eda!" Ardyn yelled as they took off into the sky. From up above, they watched the fight as Wrath removed his mask, revealing a huge mouth of large sharp teeth, as well as almost tiny eyes. From that mouth, he fired from his mouth a breath fire. Eda countered this by forming a ring of light before moving to the left. The fireball entered the first ring and disappeared, before Eda made a second one. From the second one, the fireball came out of it and hit Wrath in the chest. Knocking him back, into a wall.

The teenagers watched as Wrath got right back up, shapeshifted his hands into scythes, and rushed at Eda. However, from that wall, Ardyn and Luz saw the prisoners they met peeking out.

"Get the others out of here," Ardyn told Luz as he directed the staff to the ground. When they landed, he got off and turned towards where Eda and Wrath were fighting.

"Wait!" Luz rushed over and grabbed his arm. "What are you going to do?" she asked worriedly.

Ardyn turned to her and smiled. "Whatever I can," he said, pulling out Leviathan Axe.

Eda grunted as she was thrown against the ground. He was too powerful. King was tossed to her by the warden and she safely caught him. "No more running away, Owl Lady," said Wrath, raising both of his scythe hands. "Today I capture you once and for all!"

Ardyn let out a battle cry as he slashed the back of the warden. Making him scream in pain and fall to one knee. He then turned to the teenager and swung one of his bladed hands at him, but Ardyn parried the attack. He lunged to attack the warden when he was hit in the chest by his hand turned into a hammer.

Pain shot all throughout his body as he hit his back against the wall. Wrath then turned his hand into a fork and lashed at Ardyn. Pinning him by his neck against the stone wall. Walking towards him while shrinking his arm back to normal length, Wrath said, "I've grown tired of you, hybrid." He raised his scythe hand. "It's time to put an end to you-"

"Go, go, go, go!" Shouted a familiar voice. Ardyn turned to see Luz flying towards them with her cat-ears hood up, leading the other prisoners to attack him. Together, the misfits tackled him to the ground and tried to pin him to the ground.

However, it would prove to be in vain, as his tentacles lashed out and knocked them all back. "You little brat! Who do you think you are?" He growled at Luz

"Do not underestimate me, Warden Wrath, for I am Luz, the human, warrior of peace," Luz said dramatically as the wind blew in her hair. "Now eat this, sucker!" She pulled out the fireworks from her backpack, threw it into the air, and then hit it with the staff towards Wrath. The fireworks landed in his mouth as the heat from his breath cause the fireworks to heat up and explode in his mouth, as he somehow survived that!

Seriously, HOW?!

While Warden Wrath was still coughing, Ardyn took the chance to run over to him as he pulled out the Leviathan Axe, which glowed bright blue as there seem to be runes engraved on the blade. Not noticing the light show that the sword was putting on, Ardyn charged over at the warden bravely as he swung his battle axe, only for the warden to block it as he formed his hand into a sword. Both parties glared at each other as they jumped back, only to charge again as Ardyn bends down, and slashed his leg, causing Warden Wrath to screech in pain as frostbite begins to build up around his leg, then he angrily swung his blade at the teen's weapon, and Ardyn was barely able to block it as he struggled to push him off.

"Wow! I didn't know that the kid was good with an axe!" Katya says in shock/awe as Luz stared at her friend in disbelief.

"I didn't know either," Luz says as Eda stared at Ardyn in shock.

"He's using the axe's magic, but only one able to fully utilize its magic was Anna, and even though he is a human! Who the hell is this kid?" Eda asked herself mentally as she watched Ardyn push the warden back, and then charge at him as the warden glared at him and then joined his hands together to form a giant tennis racket as he whacked Ardyn away.

"Ardyn!" Luz screamed worriedly before narrowing her eyes as she turned to Eda. "Yoink!" Luz says while grabbing a surprised Eda's staff as she flew over to the boys, and Luz used Eda's staff to trip up the warden.

"Ugh!" Warden Wrath grunted as he fell on the floor and growled in annoyance as Luz flew over to Ardyn and landed beside him while clutching Eda's staff tightly. "You two! Who the hell do you think you two are?" He asked as the teens grinned and puffed out of their chests dramatically.

"You underestimated us, just because we're children, Warden Wrath," Ardyn says as Luz nodded.

"That's right for we're Luz and Ardyn, the warriors of peace," Luz says before she and Ardyn suddenly charged over at the warden as they raised their respective weapons in the air.

"Now, eat this, ya S.O.B.!" They shouted as Luz swung the staff, and it collided with the warden's chin as she surprisingly sends him flying into the air. Ardyn then leaped up as he gripped his battle axe tightly and let out a battle cry as he swung the Leviathan Axe at the scared warden and cut off his head.

"Ugh! Ow!" Warden Wrath grunted out while landing on the floor as his head bounced across the ground before stopping as his body landed beside him. "This isn't over! I will have my revenge!" Warden Wrath yelled to the teens just as he saw his headless body standing up and ran around like a wild chicken as he sweat dropped.

"But it might take a while-Aah! Back of the Head!" He says before screaming as King suddenly appears and kicked his head into the building.

"That's for destroying my crown, ya jerk!" King shouted while shaking his fist in the air angrily as the prisoner cheered, and Ardyn landed beside Luz as Eda walked up to them.

"Nice job, kids," Eda says while grabbing her staff from Luz's hands as the kids beamed at her praise.

"Thanks," Luz says as Ardyn inspected the battle axe.

"This is an awesome axe, Eda. Your friend was really lucky to have it." Ardyn says as Eda stared at him silently before gasping as she saw a vision of Ardyn being replaced by a woman who looks oddly like him as she smiled softly.

"Well, you can keep it, kiddo," Eda says as everybody stared at her in shock.

"Really, Eda? I mean, this was your late friend's weapon." Ardyn says as Eda nods and ruffles his hair.

"You were pretty good with it back there, kid. Besides, my friend wanted to pass her sword down to someone else anyway. I'm sure she wouldn't mind." Eda says as the boy nodded and beamed as he and Luz inspected his new axe.

"Why did you give him Anna's axe? And to a random human nonetheless." King whispers to Eda in confusion while perching on her shoulder as the kids were too distracted to listen to their conversation.

"Oh, my little furry friend, our friend Ardyn is not exactly who he seems," Eda says, confusing King even more as Eda rolled her eyes and whispered into his ear as his eyes widen.

"Oh, wow, is he really-"

"Shh!" Eda shushed him before composing herself as she walked over to the teens. "Well, kids, it's been fun, but let's bounce before any more monsters fall in love with me." She says before turning to Luz. "You're lucky, kid, you already have a cute boyfriend around, so you don't have to worry about all the other boys chasing you around," Eda says as the teens blushed.

"We are not a couple!" They shouted as Eda snorted in amusement.

"Sure, keep telling yourselves that," Eda says while turning around to walk away as an embarrassed Luz and Ardyn followed her.

Ah the joys of youth. It's always good to have a good tease.

"Welcome home, Eda. How did you raid go?" Romani said as he was drinking a cup of coffee as Eda, King and the kids enter the room. The young man was surprised to see the Leviathan Axe on Ardyn's back, but he didn't question it.

"Well King lost his crown, but we got my old friends axe back from the Warden. Anyway kid, a deal's a deal," Eda says as she and the others arrived at the Owl House with what they came for.

"Let's get you two home now." Eda says while snapping her fingers as the Eye-Key that Luz was holding flew out of her hands and landed in Eda's hands as she pressed the eye, and the Eye-Door appeared. Luz and Ardyn stared at the door mystically as the Dominican-American girl turns to King, and noticed how sad he looks as she frowns and walked over to him.

"Before we go, I wanted to give you this," Luz says while rummaging through her pockets as she pulled out a small toy golden crown and handed it over to a shocked King. "I know it's not the same, but...a king shouldn't be without a crown," Luz says with a smile as King smiled slightly and grabs the crown as he puts it on.

"This shall suffice," King says before spotting a house plant as he pointed at it. "You there, plant! You are now under my command!" King yelled while marching over to it as Luz watched him go in amusement, and Ardyn smiled at her.

"That was a good thing you did," Ardyn says, causing Luz to smile with a blush as Eda and Romani smiled at the kids before remembering something as The Owl Lady pulled out Luz's book from her dress.

"Don't forget this," Eda says as Luz smiled and grabbed the book as she and Ardyn slowly made their way to the world, but stopped as Luz stared at the door doubtfully, and Ardyn noticed this as he smiled lightly.

"Let me guess you don't want to leave, right?" Ardyn asked while whispering to her ear as she nodded. "And you want to stay here for a while and not got to some boring camp?" Ardyn asked as she nodded again and gave him a pleading look as he looks away and thought carefully before smiling as he turned to her and nodded as she beams.

"Eda, Romani, King, we actually want to tell you something." Ardyn says while he and Luz turned to the trio, who raised an eyebrow at them.

"Huh? What's going on?" Eda asked confusedly as the teens stepped forward.

"Okay, we know that you got your head cut off, we nearly died a few times and started a prison riot, but this was the most we've ever had in our entire life!" Luz says surprising the duo as Ardyn rubs his neck nervously.

"We don't exactly fit at home, and you don't fit in here either, so we thought that if we stay here, we could, uh, not fit in together, I guess," Ardyn says as Luz nodded with a determined look.

"Yeah, we are going to summer camp!" Luz says as Eda chuckled.

"What's summer camp? What are we talking about here?" Eda asked, not following along as the teens grinned at her.

"We want to stay and become magic users like you, Azura, and Ordan. I want to be a witch!" Luz says firmly.

"And someone needs to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't get into bigger trouble!" Ardyn says in a joking tone causing Luz to giggle and Eda laughed in disbelief.

"What? Hate to spoil your bubbles, kids, but humans can't become Witches. It's just impossible."

"Have any tried?" Ardyn asked curiously as Eda opens her mouth and promptly closed it as the teens smirked. "Then we will be the first ones to try."

"Yeah, if you teach us how to use magic, we will do anything you want," Luz says as Ardyn nods.

"Yeah…wait, what?" Ardyn asked as King suddenly popped up.

"Let them stay! They could make us snacks and clean for us." King says, causing Romani to chuckle.

"Well, it would be nice to have company over, Edalyn. Let's let them stay and see how it goes." Romani said with a smile on his face, causing Eda to smirk widely as Luz continued smiling while Ardyn gulped.

"Well, I could use a hand or two to help us around the house," Eda says to herself before nodding as she turned to the teens. "Humans, you have convinced me. I'll teach you Luz how to be a Witch and you can join in if you want Ardyn." Eda says to both kids, respectively, as they beamed. "But you two have to work for me before you do any spells and don't be disappointed if you can't learn any spells. I never taught any humans how to use magic before, so try not to get your hopes up too much." Eda says as they nodded, and rushed over to hug her, and King.

"Too tight! Too tight!" King grunted out from their grip.

"What's going on?" Eda asked, mildly uncomfortable as the teens continued hugging them as Romani laughed at Eda's discomfort.

After escaping from their hug, Eda had led the teens to a door as she opens it, and the teens saw a room big enough to accommodate both as Eda raised her hand and conjured a couple of beds and a giant red sheet that divided the room.

"There, some beds for you two, and a giant sheet to give you two some privacy," Eda says as Luz looks around her new room in awe while Ardyn wasn't really impressed but didn't say anything to not be rude. "We don't have a lot of room in this house, so you two have to share, and I don't want to see any funny business here. I do not want to live in a house with teenage parents." Eda says sternly, causing the teens to blush madly as Eda then walked away before they could retort and close the door behind them.

"Well, let's get changed," Luz says to Ardyn, who nodded as they walked over to their sides of the room, and made sure that the sheet concealed them as they changed into their nightwear. Ardyn's nightwear consisted of a white shirt with black sweatpants and no shoes, while Luz's nightwear consisted of a grey sleeveless top, purple shorts with an orange moon and star stickers, and white/indigo socks.

"Whoa!" Luz says while jumping onto her bed as she jumped into the air before landing with a smile as she noticed Ardyn writing something in a book as he had his mother's box near him. "What are you doing, Ardyn?" She asked as he beamed.

"Oh, well, while I was changing, I thought that our experiences in our new home will make for a killer fantasy adventure book, so from now on, I'm writing everything that we experience in the Boiling Isles." Ardyn rambled as Luz smiled.

"Oh, that sounds awesome! I'm doing that too." Luz says as Ardyn nodded before hearing their phones vibrate as they pulled out their phones and smiled as they saw their parents checking in on them. After writing a response of how much they're going to love summer camp, the teens hid their phones as they were about to go to sleep until they heard their door opening as King poked his head in.

"Your sleep cocoons look fluffy. Is it okay for me to…?" King trailed off with an embarrassed look on his face as Luz and Ardyn nodded and motioned him to get on one their beds. King beamed as he rushed over to Luz and jumped on her bed as he slept near her feet. The Witch-in-training and hybrid smiled softly and closed their eyes as they all went to sleep, not noticing a black eagle staring at them through a window as he flapped his wings and took off as he flew across the night.

At an undisclosed location, the black eagle landed on a window seal as it left off a series of chirps and calls as a hand reached out to it and pets as the black eagle disappears. Black mist begins to enter the arm as the mysterious entity begins to learn what the bird knew.

"So…the Son of Anna Bronwyn has arrived with the box…this will be fun. Hehehe…"

We find ourselves in front of an old house where the Leviathan Axe was lodged in the ground when suddenly a powerful gust of wind blew the battle axe out of the ground through a glowing door.

Through the door we find ourselves in the Boiling Isles as the Leviathan Axe flew into Ardyn's hand and the Owl House Title logo appeared.

As Eda struggles to fight off the curse she briefly fights off the feathers before we see Romani chained up against the wall before a large shadow grows.

Looking up they saw Emperor Belos glaring down at them with staff at the ready and all his coven ready to attack. Standing behind him is a shadowed figure with a demented grin on his face.
