Pilot Episode:

It began as always with the desire to explore. In the mid-21st century, the first colonies were established on Mars followed by a wave of colonization across the inner planets of the solar system. In the next few centuries, mankind would expand rapidly across the solar system including a multitude of settlements across planets, moons, and stations. To facilitate faster travel, a new type of engine was needed. This incentive led to the creation of the technology known as the Interspace Drive. An engine using principles of Alcubierre's theory of warping space. This eventually lead to the development of an engine that would allow a spaceship to travel at 1 percent of the speed of light. This speed would eventually increase as research and development continued. With the invention of this drive system. The outer solar system was now available to humanity, triggering a new wave of colonists.

But that was never enough, as mankind in its very nature was always greedy for more. From that greed grew the increasingly tyrannical control of those who held power safely protected within the inner system. As a result, a rebellion would break out that would see these colonies become independent and the inner system in ruins. In the aftermath of this short and quick war, the inner planets had few options. They can either attempt to take back their colonies, engage in trade or try something new. In the end, they choose the latter due to the latest advancement of spacefaring technologies, and thus began the next era of mankind. This era was known as the stellar exodus. The day when mankind made their first journey outside of the solar system and set foot on a completely new but alien world.

It was a monumental achievement for mankind, but also for the inner planets. With the ability to set foot on a completely different star system also came the incentive to colonize and extract resources to feed the ever-growing industries of the solar system. Moreover, seeing these efforts make a it worthwhile investment. Mankind needed a new way to travel quickly to these distant star systems. Thus, began the next series of technological development. The Interspace Drive proves insufficient to allow faster-than-light travel, with the newest model only allowing for 20 percent of light speed and a massive amount of energy needed to achieve such speeds in the first place. Man needed a new way, method, and technology to travel. This development was a long and slow progress. During this time humanity would rely primarily on slower-than-light ships. For example, generational ships, sleeper ships, seed ships, to Embryo space colonization. All in an effort to colonize these distant star systems. By the 4th millennium, mankind had colonized star systems within a three-hundred-sixty light-year radius from sol.

This method would continue for some time, as during the 4th and 5th millennia. A series of interstellar wars would erupt between the various powers back on Sol for control over these distant colonies. Emboldened by the success of their counterparts. The outer planets had also begun to explore the idea of interstellar colonies. But these ventures were often too expensive or too draining to their respective economies. Thus, they began to wage war with little they had against their more successful brethren in the inner planets. It was only after this great war that mankind realized that they can not continue this path. Therefore, it begins a new era, known as the cooperative era. This was also referred to by the majority of humanity as the First Golden Age. Taking place across the 6th to 8th millennium. It was during this time, megastructure projects began in earnest. The concept of constructing a massive construct of such scale was explored. Structures such as orbital rings, ringworlds, and Dyson spheres were explored in detail to their feasibility.

Moreover, it was also the period that the first development of faster-than-light travel was achieved. Using an ancient theory known as the Krasnikov tube. Using this theory mankind was able to construct massive megastructural "tubes" or portals of transit that connected one-star system after the other. It allowed for the first time to allow mankind to travel quickly and efficiently across their interstellar possessions. Moreover, began a new wave of interstellar expansion expanding the current territories by ten times. However, this technology didn't come with a few problems though. One of these issues nearly caused the destruction of the Sol System almost causing the complete collapse of human civilization. Due to some freak accident, Sol was hit why a massive gravitational displacement event that saw waves of destruction sweep across the Sol system. It ended the first golden age of man, as humanity struggled to recover from its man-made apocalypse. With help from their interstellar brethren mankind was able to rebuild Sol. But things have changed. The Solar System was different, transformed from a single star to a quaternary star system that consists of another G-type sun-like star just 0.16 light years away. Another G-type sun star system is just only 3.92 light years away. And a small red dwarf is currently in orbit the current original solar system.

It also included new planets already present in the original star system such as four habitable moons, one orbiting venus, and two orbiting two new habitable planets in the asteroid belt. And a physics-defying habitable moon in orbit of Jupiter. The red dwarf system also has nine new planets while the other star had six and five planets and hundreds if not thousands of moons and other bodies. The newly arrived star systems, planets, and moons gave mankind what it needed to rebuild Sol. But also allowed them to expand their current core domain. With Sol, the rebuild began the next era of exploration and the golden age. Having been stagnate for thousands of years after the disaster. By the 13th Millennium, mankind quickly revised their current FTL technology, learning the lessons of the previous disaster. Mankind was able to utilize it without any problems this time around. Technologies that were put on hold after the disaster were brought back in full force. Such as the creation of synthetic stars, Stellar Engines, Dyson Spheres, and their variants, and artificial megastructures such as ecumenopolis, artificial worlds, habitats, orbital rings, ringworlds, Alderson disks, stellar lifters, Artificial Intelligence, Advance computing, and robotics, harnessing the power of black holes, vacuum energy, etc.

It didn't end here, with the early periods of interstellar colonization also giving birth to a new type of ship design. One is the massive city-ship to the equally massive craft worlds. Moving ships the size of planetoids, moons, and entire worlds. Mankind was unstoppable, with a standard of living of humanity that was comparable to that of the gods. Man lived longer than ever, medical technology was the best of the best. By the 18th Millennium, mankind just as the other age had entered. They had already entered another Golden Age of technological advancement and human improvement. But one question still eluded mankind. Were they alone? The existence of aliens has been in the minds of human imagination for thousands of years. But no definitive proof had ever been found. Thus, mankind continued on without giving it much thought.

By the 26th millennium of the unified human calendar. Mankind is at the crossroads of its history. As mankind quickly reach the peak of its expansion into the cosmos. ... By this point, mankind had colonized an area of five thousand seven hundred light years from Sol. Most of these colonies were sparsely inhabited. Mainly due to the fact that a majority of humans find the core of humanity. Being the Sol System more at home than they were out in deep space. Sol was home to all of mankind's megastructure and astronomical projects. Holding countless quintillions of humans in massive megastructures or in virtual space powered by a matryoshka brain built around an artificial star. Therefore, mankind had no real need to colonize the distant star systems unless it is to extract resources. The star system they colonized was filled with people who either wanted to get away from the busiest such as Sol. Or wanted to live a simple life of solitude. But despite the living standards offered by the Sol star system, these systems were colonized nevertheless for resources, to fuel the countless mega projects of Sol.

Some planets and moons were privately owned by individuals or corporate entities. While some were massive resorts, paradise, and sites of wonderous entertainment, which welcome trillions of visitors per year. Therefore, mankind's population spread was considered unique when they came into contact with other alien races of the galaxy. By the mid-26th millennium, mankind had undergone a major change. With the need to grow and the demand for resources increases. Mankind eventually opened up a new wave of colonization efforts. Expanding their five thousand seven hundred light-year territory to eight thousand nine hundred and then thirteen thousand light-years. Bringing in mankind new resources, new worlds, and new opportunities. At the same time, new series of megastructures began popping up all over Sol and the human interstellar empire from the Alderson Disk, Arcology, Artificial Sun, Bernal Sphere, Bishop Ring, Ceiling City, Cloud City, Discworld, Dyson Sphere, Ecumenopolis, Floating City, Fusion Candle, Gas Giant Refinery, Hoopworld, Interstellar Highway, Krasnikov Tube, Launch Loop, Matrioshka Brain, Megatall Skyscraper, Movable City, Nicoll-Dyson Laser, O'Neill Cylinder, Orbital Ring, Polyhedral Habitat, Ringworld, Rung-world, Shell World, Shkadov Thruster, Skyhook, Space Elevator, Space Farm, Stanford Torus, Star Lifter, Star Tram, Topopolis, Underground City, Undersea Habitat, Warp Gate, and the Worldhouse Roof.

All of which, had only increased mankind's prestige and power. As it only showcases the fact that man had advanced the match the power of the gods themselves. However, this expansion and this power came at a cost. As mankind expanded deeper into the stars, the people of these interstellar colonies wanted more autonomy from the Solar Government and had begun imposing strict restrictions to control the colonies and ensure a steady stream of resources. This disagreement led to conflict and that conflict soon spiraled into all-out war. As diplomatic solutions had failed to satisfy the growing anger amongst the colonies. Which only led some hardliner rebel groups to take action. Fueled by the momentum of the surprise uprising and the inability of the Solar Government to respond to the crisis. The rebels managed to seize vast territories from the Solar Government, thereby igniting the spark that would cause the greatest war ever known to mankind. It was called the Sundering, and what began as a small dispute turned into an apocalyptic war. A struggle between the rebels of the colonies and the government of Sol. Initially, the rebels had the upper hand as it had been many millennia since the last known war that mankind had fought. The Sol-Gov military arm, Sol Force couldn't respond quickly or effectively to contain the growing rebellion. As such gave the rebels precious time to develop the industry to face the industrial juggernaut that is Solar-Government.

In this cataclysmic war, fearsome weapons of highly advanced technology were unleashed by both sides. Massive thinking machines called Mechanivores were deployed, which tore open great chasms in a planet that extended to the core and were capable of lifting entire continents into space. The Mechanivores absorbed space-time itself as if it was data. The sun snuffers were incomprehensibly vast serpentine machines that devoured stars. In the void, the sun snuffers uncoiled into colossal structures that dwarfed Saturn's rings. The most pervasive and perhaps most dangerous of the terrible weapons were the Omniphages. Which were swarms consisting of intelligent nano-machines, that in less than a solar day consumed everything on a planet's surface. The war lasted for years, lasting over seventeen hundred years in total. Causing widespread devastation and destruction to humanity. In light of the vast destruction caused to themselves, mankind began the long process of rebuilding and healing. Hoping to avoid the mistakes of the past. In time mankind would finally rebuild and once again thrive as it entered a new age of peace. It is now the 29th millennium, mankind had once again continued to expand its territory. After the delay caused by the cataclysmic war millennia ago.

Humanity had once again continued on, marching into the future of the progress of time. In this latest golden age, newer and newer technologies and upgrades have been appearing without any pause or any sign of slowing down. Technologies such as the development of wormhole generators had hoped to bring about a new revolutionary way of space travel. A technology that would hope one day to bridge the gap between the inner and outer colonies. To the vast world creators or also known as Genesis machines, vast moon size Dysons spheres with the ability to fulfill mankind's ambition to create their own solar system and bring life to a planet. The improvement of current Interspace drives reaching speeds that would allow it to fulfill the role of intergalactic travel. Allowing mankind to reach and explore distant galaxies and further their learning of the universe. It was an era that would usher in the greatest period of development following the massive war that took place. But one thing still remained, since the start of the 29th millennium. One thing still remained in the heads of man. Were they alone? Since the end of the war mankind had expanded its sphere of influence to nearly sixteen thousand light-years. And yet the unequivocal proof of sentient alien life still hasn't been discovered. Until now, the first proof of alien life was not found in the stars. But in a place somewhere very close to home.

On one faithful day, back on Earth in the Ancient lands of Egypt, once a center of the earliest known human civilization in history. A shocking discovery would be made. Hidden for tens of thousands of years, in the harsh sands of Egypt, a mysterious ring-like device would be discovered. It was an alien device shaped like a ring, almost immediately the purpose of the device was guessed by the stunned scientific community. It was a form of wormhole generator device, a ring designed to create a stable wormhole for interstellar transit. With a coordinate dialing system built into its chevrons. It was estimated that the ring had the ability to connect to ten to the thirty-seven other rings, scattered throughout the galaxy or the universe itself. Fearing the threat of hostile aliens, the ring was moved to the Lunar base where tests and experiments were conducted on it to see how advanced the ring was. Too much of the surprise of many, the rings were little to no more advance than their own current wormhole technology. Humanity's current wormhole technology mainly consists of various stations which allow generations of wormholes in all systems within its range radius. All a ship had to do is get within range of the station coverage and then contact the station via the Quantum Entangled communication or QEC for short, giving the coordinates for its intended destination.

From there the Station will open a wormhole to the destination which the ship will then travel to. The reason for the creation of this system was the major problem and limitations associated with this nascent technology. For one is that a wormhole can only be opened in one direction. Anyone attempting to traverse an incoming wormhole will be disintegrated by the energy of the oncoming wormhole. The only exception to this limitation is radio waves and laser communications. Therefore, in order to make use of this technology to the maximum ability, a series of stations were built all equipped with wormhole generator technology. These stations would be capable of opening thousands of wormholes allowing for the transit of hundreds of thousands if not millions of ships simultaneously. Allowing for rapid transit, between far-reaching colonies, better than what the original Krasnikov could do. After confirming the technology of the Ring a debate was held on whether or not to explore what was beyond the ring. With coordinates gathered from the stone tablet and buried pedestal that the ring was once held on. The debate about going to the area of the coordinate had only increased mankind's curiosity about what was on the other side.

After a long period of debating a decision was made to open and explore the other side of the ring and the gate the coordinate led to. A massive effort was undertaken by the Solar Government and the military to ensure the success of the operation. A small drone was sent to the other side, fitted with a QEC locator which would allow them to track its current position somewhere in the galaxy. After confirming the location, the Government then had the stargate team be able to acquire a station wormhole generator. To allow for a way back home once they surveyed what was on the other side. It was supposed to be clockwork, being a quick exploration and then returning back to inform the rest of humanity. If there were aliens then the team would stay and they would attempt communication. The hope was there were friendly aliens willing to talk to them. However, they were very far from the truth and optimism of the situation they were about to walk into. Instead of a friendly alien civilization, they encountered a hostile alien empire hellbent on their subjugation and destruction.

What the humans of Sol didn't know at the time was that the portal lead to a backwater colony world of a massive alien interstellar polity known as the Goa'uld Empire. To matters worse, on the planet was the Supreme system lord Ra who had just happened to be there at the time. After an encounter with the stargate exploration team. Supreme system lord Ra had the team brought to him. Where they tried to negotiate and communicate with him. However, it was all for naught as the Supreme system lord decided that they were a threat. He attempted to force them into submission by threatening the destruction of their world with a Naquadah-enhanced explosive device. Now convinced of the threat the Stargate team quickly worked out a plan to call for help while attempting to fight back against the system lord. They managed to stage a rebellion on the planet, prevent the bomb detonation, managed to kick Ra out and force him to flee. But not until he captured Dr. Daniel Jackson, a civilian scientist who was responsible for translating and activating the long dormant stargate. Fleeing back to the capital of his star-spanning empire in order to rally the other system lord against the threat of the humans of Sol.

He fled just as a Sol Force naval task force arrived in the system to secure it. With High Command and the higher echelons of Sol-Gov now aware of the ongoing situation. A plan was launched in order to rescue Dr. Jackson and kill or capture Ra. Using their wormhole technology the naval task force was sent to where the doctor was taken. As indicated by his still-functioning tracker. When the task force arrived, they were greeted by an armada of one hundred and fifty thousand warships of the Goa'uld navy. It would have appeared that the meager Human fleet of one thousand ships had fallen into a trap set by Ra. Unfortunately for him, while many races in the galaxy would have surrendered or fought to the death to beg the Goa'uld for mercy by now, once they are in sight of the massive fleet above the capital world of their empire. The humans of Sol were no ordinary enemy they had faced in the countless millennia of their long rule. The battle was for a lack of a better word, a one-sided slaughter mainly for the Goa'uld. They had severely underestimated their foe, from the capability of their ships and the technological level of their civilization. The mission for the Humans of Sol was an astounding success as they grew confident now that their enemy are weaker than they had initially expected. However, in the closing act of this incident, the mission ended in a major strategic fiasco.

One that they hadn't realized until they got the bigger picture of the wider galactic situation. What happened was during the ensuing chaos of the battle above their capital. The chaos caused by the one-sided slaughter of their fleet caused the Goa'uld to panic for the first time in tens of thousands of years. What's more, during that battle not only Supreme System lord Ra was killed, but the entire Goa'uld High Council was as well. Combined with the complete destruction of the empire's capital world killing billions of its inhabitants. For the humans of Sol at the time, they had thought the world was an important colony and after retrieving the doctor the naval task force quickly retreated to prepare for the inevitable retribution that followed. But no retribution followed, instead what they got was a political disaster and a galaxy now consumed in all-out anarchy. Before the encounter with the Humans of Sol. The Goa'uld empire was an empire that was the dominant force in the Milky Way galaxy for tens of thousands of years. They were a power unchallenged by all and ruled the galaxy as gods. Until sometime around twenty thousand years, the empire was originally fragmented and divided amongst numerous competing and rival system lords for control.

Until a change by Supreme System lord Ra decided to embark on a campaign to unite the system lords as one and made the empire extremely cohesive in a process that took tens of thousands of years. The sudden unification had upset the relatively calm status quo of the galaxy. Independent powers such as the Tollan and the Tok'ra were forced to admit that the Goa'uld was now a significant major threat to everyone in the galaxy. Even the ancient Asgard federation, which was on the decline but still very much powerful today, was now threatened by the increase in power from the Goa'uld. The unification of the system lords had several drastic effects that would make many including the Asgard federation cause of concern. For one was the consolidation of power into the hands of a collective few System lords. Allowing for more effective governance which was their primary weakness in responding to changes in events relatively quickly. The other was the increase in inventiveness and the incentive to create. Which allowed the Goa'uld to create unique technology for the race. Rather than use salvage technology from the ancients who once walked this galaxy. All of these issues have made Asgard and Tollan very concerned for their well-being. For the Tollan it was about survival and the independence of their isolationist way of life. For the Tok'ra it was the greatest failure of the situation that they sought to prevent in the first place. For Asgard, it was the threat of being defeated, now that their civilization was on the decline. Making them unable to fulfill their promise to countless worlds under their protection.

For a time, it would appear the Goa'uld would once again emerge victorious. With over half the galaxy under their control, they were unstoppable. System Lord Ra had intended to wage war once again upon the Asgard as revenge for their humiliation suffered thousands of years ago. But as it soon turned out, fate had other ideas for the Goa'uld for better or worse. The appearance of the advanced civilization from the Humans of Sol has single-handily broken the promised era of Goa'uld dominance. With Supreme System Lord Ra dead along with the High Council. There was nothing holding back the other system lord and a few dissatisfied Jaffa and other factions to start filling in the power vacuum caused by the event. What followed was a descent into chaos and anarchy as wars broke out between rival system lords for control. Which only further fractured the crumbling Goa'uld empire. To the other factions who were now watching, their attention and question were now turned to the force that cause this event. Who was already predicted to become a major player in the ever more chaotic galaxy?

The Humans of Sol, now face a massive challenge before them. The galaxy is now in flames due to the action over the planet of that decisive battle. The Humans of Sol must somehow navigate the ever more chaotic galaxy as they quickly sought to control it. Quickly taking up the mantle as the galaxy's new rulers, the Humans of Sol must prove themselves to be up for the task. To become and earn the title of the fifth great race. However, it is easier said than done. As they now quickly find out, it is not the players of the galaxy that they should be worried about. But because of their action, they had revealed themselves to outside forces from beyond the galaxy. Forces who now sought to control take over and use the highly advanced humans for their own agendas. And forces who the humans of Sol are unsure whether or not they are allies or they are enemies. Only time will tell if the Humans of Sol will succeed in their goals and bring about a new golden age not only for them but for the galaxy in need of change. This is their story.

A/N:

So this pilot idea came out from a story that was under consideration. But after having a burst of inspiration I decided to write this pilot down here first before I can finalize the planning for this story. But the idea here had been around for quite some time. I had tried to find fanfiction on stargate that would have advanced humanity. But I never really saw one that would have humanity on the same tech level as the ancients or even surpass them. So I decided what if I have a go at it?

A little disclaimer here: this isn't going to be a single story like my other stories. But instead a collection of different stories which are all in chronological order and tell a main storyline. The reason for this, as you can tell, the existence of advanced humanity has the potential to rock the boat quite a bit. This means that a lot of things and plotlines from the original stargate saga have been butterflied out of existence. With some resembling the series, but nevertheless changed. Moreover, to make this not a full and complete or outright HFY fic, I have decided to use creative liberties to include enemies that will be on par with this humanity AU.

One is the appearance of a militaristic faction of the Ancients, similar to the Ori, my original OC. And the existence of a hidden Ancient and Lantean civilization to the existence of different factions of Ascended. With different agendas that may impact the storyline featured here. Of course, I cannot forget about the Wraith and the Replicators along with the Asurans. They will play a major part in the storyline, although less with the Wraith and more with the Replicators and Asurans.

There will be several human factions within the Humans of Sol, or rather I should say the Tau'ri, who would be looking for a way to exploit the situation for their own purpose. As you can see the galaxy is really in chaos. As for updates, I don't this to be updated regularly unless something drastic happens which will make me change my mind.

Anyways,

That is all that I have I hope you enjoy this little pilot.

And I will see you again in the next chapter, whenever that might be.
