NOTE: Yeah, I forgot Bulma was in the Super Broly movie. Tbf, she did NOTHING of worthy note in that movie for me to bother remembering she was there. I'm too lazy to go back and fix that. The beginning of this chapter is kinda...yeah.

No fan animations, fanfics, or whatever is in that category is going to be included. OFFICIAL DB CONTENT ONLY.

Chapter 5: Attack of the Saiyans (Part 1)

"I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!" Goten declared, disrupting everyone in the audience. Trunks and Marron gave him confused stares.

"Goten?"

"Yeah?" He turned to Trunks.

"Why did you shout that?"

The youngest Son didn't blink for a few seconds, genuinely mulling over his response. "Ah, yeah, I was just thinking about Luffy."

"Luffy?" Marron raised a brow. There was something familiar about the name, but she just couldn't place her finger on it.

"Yeah! Luffy, the pirate guy we met way back some time ago! During that whole race competition!" Goten reminded everyone. "He would shout that all the time, remember?"

Goku perked up, grinning at the memory. "Oh yeah! He was pretty strong, so was that Toriko guy! I really wish I could fight them again!"

Vegeta huffed, crossing his arms. "They were nothing special." He thought back to his fight with Zoro and Zebra, they never got to reach a conclusion due to Bulma and some loud-mouth orange woman getting in the way.

Hercule puffed up his chest. "And I remember winning the fight in the end! The World Champion remains undefeated!"

"Yes, because you didn't do anything at all…" Videl sighed at her father.

"Buu doesn't remember, though." Buu mentions.

"Because you were asleep!" Videl huffs.

Gohan tries to help his wife calm down. "They were all pretty interesting, their skills and abilities were something we've never seen before. Especially Luffy and his friends."

"Luffy's powers kinda reminded me of Buu's." Goku said. "Stretching his body all over the place!"

"Kinda like a cartoon character!" Goten exclaimed.

"That's ridiculous." Mai said, crossing her arms.

"No way! He totally was like one! He even has a giant robot on his crew, right, Trunks!?" Goten turned to his best friend.

"Yeah, he-" Trunks saw the disinterested look on Mai's face, and quickly composed himself. "C'mon, Goten, that stuff is pretty childish, right?"

"No, not really. You have a bunch of robot figures in your bedroom-GMHMH" Goten cried as popcorn got shoved into his mouth by Trunks.

"Shut up, idiot!"

Goku hummed, thinking back to his fight with Luffy and Toriko. The Saiyan from Earth turned to his best friend, staring at him intently. Krillin felt Goku's stare, looking nervously at his best friend. "Uh… Goku? Why are you staring at me?"

"AH HA!" Goku grinned, laughing to himself. "I was right!"

"Right about what?" Bulma asked.

"Krillin sounds just like him!"

"Who?"

"Luffy! Don't they sound similar!?"

"No way! First it was Yajirobe and now it's Luffy! I don't sound anything like them!" Krillin exclaimed, feeling a bit self-conscious. However, none of his friends believed him, all contemplating Goku's revelation.

"Now that you mention it…" Gohan begins. "Luffy and Krillin do sound pretty similar."

"Almost like an exact copy." Bulma agreed.

"I can see it." 18 added.

"Not you too, 18!" Krillin cried.

Goten, after swallowing the mountain of popcorn, ran over to Krillin. "You gotta say it, Krillin!"

"S-say what?"

"Luffy's line!"

Krillin huffed, crossing his arms. "Fine! If it'll get you guys to move past this, then I'll say it!" Taking a deep breath, Krillin raised his arms and shouted with everything he had. "I'M GONNA BE THE KING OF THE PIRATES!"

"Yup, exactly the same."

"DAMMIT!"

"Can we start now?" Beerus asked, twirling a donut on his finger.

"Yeah, yeah, hold your horses." Bulma waved her hand. She turned her machine back on to start the next viewing.

Two round white pods are seen descending towards Earth, crashing into a city. The confused citizens stared at the craters, slowly stepping close to them.

Vegeta took a deep breath, realizing what was about to be shown. He wasn't the only one as most of the audience became aware of the time period that they were seeing. "Of course…this would eventually happen." The prince sighed.

Bulma turned to her husband. "Vegeta…we don't have to if you-"

"It'll be fine. The only ones unaware are those who don't know and the younger children. We'll explain whatever needs explaining. I'm not gonna hide from my past." Vegeta declared, staring his wife in the eyes.

"If you're sure."

Stepping out of one of the pods was Vegeta, dressed in older Saiyan battle armor. The prince observed the area, whistling a tiny bit.

"Wow, Vegeta! I forgot how short you were!" Goku laughed.

"Shut up, dumbass!" Vegeta's sour mood dissipated to yell at his rival.

Vegeta's power level was instantly felt by the Z-Fighters. Piccolo and Gohan, who were in the middle of training, stared at the direction the power was coming from. "Looks like they're finally here!" Piccolo growled.

"They have incredible KI…" Gohan muttered.

"Oh, Gohan! I forgot how cute you were at the size!" Chi-Chi gushed, smiling at her oldest son. She was trying to ignore the uneasy feeling of knowing what was awaiting her son.

Gohan blushed from his mother's compliment. "I-I don't think-"

"She's right, you are pretty cute~!" Videl added to his embarrassment.

"Cute, Papa!" Pan didn't help matters either.

Standing behind Vegeta was his companion, Nappa, a large bald Saiyan dressed in similar armor.

"Nappa…haven't thought about him in years." Vegeta said.

"Who is he, Papa?" Bulla asked.

"An old…colleague." Vegeta answered, unsure of how he should address Nappa.

"Do you miss him?" Bulma wondered.

"Not really. Good riddance in my opinion."

"Earth, wasn't it? Not a bad planet, wouldn't you agree?" Vegeta addressed his partner.

"Heh, heh, heh. Why don't we say hello to these noisy pests?" Nappa suggested before lifting up two fingers. In an instant the city was utterly decimated in smoke and rubble. The explosion was even visible from space.

Everyone turned to Vegeta, staring at the back of his head. The prince felt his irritation grow, knowing he'll be receiving looks the entire time. "You all got something to say!?"

"N-not really…" Krillin said. "It's just that we kinda forgot how you used to be."

"And? I'm not like that anymore!"

"We know that, Vegeta!" Goku grinned, jumping over to the prince. "You're a big old softy now, aren't ya!?" The hero hugged Vegeta, causing the prince to thrash about in embarrassment.

"Get the hell off me, you oaf!"

Nappa celebrated the destruction he caused, much to Vegeta's annoyance. The prince reminded his partner of their goal of obtaining the Dragon Balls. Nappa's reckless actions could've destroyed their ticket to immortality.

Trunks stared at the younger version of his father; he knew his dad wasn't always the best of guys. His parents haven't told him the full truth after the whole Majin Buu debacle. Still, it felt weird to see him look so…evil?

"You okay, Trunks?" Goten asked.

"Hm? Yeah, just gotta get used to seeing my Dad like this." Trunks said.

"I'm sure it'll be fine!" Goten grinned, not seeing any issue. "Your Dad isn't a bad guy."

"Yeah, you're right, Goten." The two shared a small fist-bump.

Vegeta activated his scouter, picking up the two largest power levels on the planet. "There we go! Two readings, and they're close together! Alright, Nappa. Let's go have some fun with them."

"Ha ha! This is great! The gravity here is so low, it feels like I'm weightless!" Nappa yelled as the two blasted off towards the Z-Fighters.

"What does he mean? Is he referring to Planet Vegeta or a different planet." Bulma asked her husband.

"Likely, because the gravity on Planet Vegeta was much higher than here on Earth. Other planets also have stronger gravity than Earth, regular humans wouldn't survive." Vegeta answered.

The viewing skipped ahead to the Z-Fighters confronting the Saiyan invaders. Smoke cleared from the battlefield, revealing both Vegeta and Nappa covered in dirt. Neither of the two had been damaged by Krillin's earlier attack that had destroyed the Saibamen.

"We're skipping to this part?" Krillin questioned, slightly surprised.

"What? What happened?" Dende asked.

"Nappa and I placed down several Saibamen to test the power of you all, and only one of you died." Vegeta's eyes shifted to Yamcha.

The ex-bandit didn't even bother turning to Vegeta, he groaned as he caught the sight of his corpse in the background. "At least I don't have to watch myself die again…" Paur patted his back, hoping to help his friend feel better.

"What are Saibamen?" Hedo asked.

"Small planet creatures designed to be used as tools for the Frieza Force. Mostly used for training younger Saiyans, but most soldiers had them used in battle." Vegeta explained. He looked over to Broly's group. "When you were still working for Frieza, were there still any in use?"

Lemo shook his head. "I don't remember any Saibamen, but I was never really put on many missions."

"Nope, nada." Cheelai added.

Krillin couldn't believe that the Saiyan invaders were unharmed. The little monk had put everything he had into that blast, fear creeping back up inside of him.

Nappa stepped up, cracking his knuckles. "Let me do it, I'll kill all five at once!"

"Suit yourself." Vegeta allowed, stepping back.

As Nappa powered up, the Earth started to quiver in fear. Power never seen before, surpassing that of King Piccolo was felt by all of the Z-Fighters. Hope continued to drain from their bodies as Nappa finished charging his power. Energy wrapped itself around his body like a mighty suit of armor. "HAAAA!"

"WATCH OUT!" Piccolo's warning was too late. Tien could only watch as Nappa's large fist descended upon him, easily tearing through his left arm like tissue paper.

"WUAAAAAHHH!" Tien's bloodcurdling scream echoed loudly.

Tien grimaced at the sight, holding his left arm instinctively. The martial artist cursed his powerlessness at this moment. If he had been stronger, then Chiaotsu never would've had to die here.

Some of the queasier members of the audience had to keep their food in at the bloody sight of Tien losing a limb. Videl had to keep her father steady from passing out, giving him some water to help him feel better.

Vegeta laughed. "What fragile people."

Bulma hummed slightly, catching her husband's attention. "What?"

"Nothing." Bulma sipped on her tea.

"You want to say something?" Vegeta glared at her.

"Not at all."

Tien managed to dodge Nappa's follow-up attack by flying into the air, but Nappa was quick to the chase. He flipped in the air and devastatingly kicked Tien back into the Earth. The three-eyed fighter slowly crawled off the ground.

"Is there a reason none of you are helping?" Mai asked, baffled by how the others just watched Tien get pummeled.

"It's his fight." Piccolo responded with agreements coming from Goku and Tien.

"I wouldn't like people jumping into my fights unless I was fine with it. Best to see what I'm able to do on my own!" Goku replied.

"Even in a situation like this, I wanted to do everything with my own power. My honor as a martial artist demanded as much." Tien added.

The teenager stared at them as if they were idiots. "That's so…dumb…"

Krillin spoke up, chuckling nervously. "Well…there's one other reason."

"What's that?"

Krillin tried to jump in to help Tien, Piccolo warning the monk to not get involved. The Namekians' words rang true as Nappa instantly put a fork in Krillin's plans. "STAY OUT OF THIS!" He roared, swiping his fingers through the air and blasting a massive crevice between his fight and them.

"That's why." Krillin answered, receiving a small, stunned nod from Mai.

"He left a creator so deep; I can't see the bottom…! What an amazing wave of KI…!" Piccolo was stunned by Nappa's power. Gohan could be seen ducking for cover behind him.

"C'mon, Gohan! Kick that guy's butt already!" Goten exclaimed.

"It was my first fight, Goten, cut me some slack." Gohan sighed at his little brother. The scholar did have to admit that he was a bit embarrassed from how he was back then.

Krillin looked around, not seeing a certain someone. "Where's Chiaotzu!? Where is he!? Was he near the blast!?"

"He…he's gone!" Tien cried, also searching for his friend.

"Nappa! Behind you!" Vegeta warned, having noticed Chiaotzu sneak up behind the elite Saiyan. The tiny warrior latched onto Nappa's back, refusing to let go as Nappa fought to get him off.

Fear coursed through Tien, the triclops struggling to his feet. "Chiaotzu! What are you doing!? Get away from him!"

Chiaotzu didn't look away from the screen, knowing exactly what he was about to see. He didn't regret his actions here, because no matter what he wanted to protect Tien as much as he could.

"Goodbye, Tien. Please don't die." Tien heard his friend's final words through their mental link.

"You're not…thinking of…DON'T DO IT, CHIAOTZU!"

BOOM!

"Ch..Chiao…CHIAOTZU!" Tien wailed, mourning the loss of his best friend.

Seeing Tien's reaction to his death was a different matter, because he hadn't seen the full extent of his friend's pain. Even though they talked about this battle during their training with King Kai, Chiaotsu hadn't thought too much about how Tien must've felt. "I'm sorry, Tien."

Tien placed a hand on Chiaotzu's head. "Don't worry about it, Chiaotzu. You did what you did, because you wanted to protect me. I also wanted to do the same in keeping you safe, but I wasn't strong enough. I hope you can forgive me."

"Of course, I can! Everything managed to work out in the end!" Chiaotzu exclaimed.

"Yeah…yeah it did."

Piccolo smirked a tiny bit. "He blew himself up in order to take out his opponent. A little drastic, though a great strategy."

"Th-thanks?" Chiaotzu wasn't sure if that was a compliment.

Unfortunately, Chiaotzu's plan was pointless, because Nappa was completely unharmed from the attack. "Heh… That was a pointless thing to do. I guess you don't realize just how terrifying we are…!"

Goku felt a bit of anger build up, the lives of his friends weren't pointless, nor were their efforts pointless. Even though everything worked out, Goku still wished he had been there from the beginning, then none of his friends would've died.

As Nappa declared the order in which he was going to slaughter them all, Tien's focus was still on the loss of his friend. "The Dragon Balls have already restored his life once… He won't be able to be wished back ever again!"

"That's right…" Bulma frowned. "At this point we only had Earth's Dragon Balls…if it wasn't for Namek." She didn't even want to think about the idea of none of her friends being able to come back.

Yamcha really wished he hadn't died so pathetically, even though his death wasn't shown, the way he went out was avoidable. Maybe if he hadn't died, then Chiaotzu could've survived much longer than he did.

"Don't worry, I'll be sending you off to meet him shortly!" Nappa declared.

Piccolo started to devise a plan with Krillin and Gohan. "The instant he moves to attack, he's wide open. We'll attack him then."

"That's a good plan. Best of luck to you." Vegeta overheard them, when Piccolo stared at him, the prince grinned. "Don't look at me, you'll miss your chance."

"This really was just a game to you." Piccolo couldn't help but be annoyed.

"None of you were strong enough to pose a challenge to me." Vegeta shrugged.

"Confident…you won't be making that stupid face once Son Goku gets here."

"Oh? And who's that? Your ace in the hole?"

"Wow, Piccolo! Thanks for having faith in me!" Goku appreciated it.

"Tch, not like I had a choice. You really were our best bet of winning in the end." Piccolo responded.

"How did you forget uncle Goku's name, Papa?" Bulla asked, pulling on Vegeta's arm.

"I forgot they referred to him as Goku, because I only recalled the name Kakarot." Vegeta grunted.

When Nappa went in to attack, Piccolo and Krillin started their plan. The two intercepted him before he could reach Tien, ping-ponging him down towards Gohan, who was frozen in fear. "GOHAN! SHOOT HIM NOW!" Piccolo roared, but the boy was too scared to do anything. "DAMN YOU!"

Piccolo actually hid in fear as Chi-Chi's murderous gaze bore into him. "Why do you people keep expecting a 5-year-old to know how to fight!? Are you all insane or something!?" She asked before realizing she answered her own question. "Nevermind… I forgot who you all are for a second…"

"I-it's okay, Mom. I should've attacked when I had the chance." Gohan tried to calm his mother down.

"No, Gohan, I have to agree with Chi-Chi here. Something like that was no place for you to be even if your power was essential or something." Videl said.

"THANK YOU!" Chi-Chi exclaimed, before settling back down in her seat. She then saw Goku offer her a piece of cake and took it without thinking twice.

Piccolo and Krillin quickly fired beams themselves, but Nappa had recovered enough to dodge it. "You almost had me there…all that you two managed to do is shorten your own lifespans!" Nappa growled. "I'm gonna kill you all at once! I hope you're ready!"

Tien watched from the ground, his window of opportunity presenting itself. "Chiaotzu… I promise to avenge you…and then I'll join you in death, and we'll never be apart again…"

"A-are you crying?" Trunks looked at Marron, who was trying to dry her tears.

"I'm sorry, okay!? This is a super emotional moment!" Marron defended herself.

"But they're right there." Trunks pointed down at Tien and Chiaotzu. Marron slapped him on the arm, making him cry out a little.

"Doesn't mean I can't be sad, you jerk!"

Building up all of his life energy, Tien gave his last hoorah. "TRI-BEAM!" The massive energy blast eclipsed Nappa before he could realize, everyone was surprised by the powerful attack Tien had fired off.

Tien sighed, knowing the outcome of the battle. Still, he doesn't regret giving it everything he had to try and avenge his friend.

Once again, Nappa survived the attack, but actual damage had been dealt this time. Tien cursed his own misfortune as his body gave out. "I…failed…"

"He gave it everything he had, and still died in vain." Vegeta unnecessarily added.

Krillin turned to the sky, fear having consumed him completely. "GOKU! WHERE ARE YOU!?"

"Sorry, guys." Goku apologized. He doesn't remember if he ever actually apologized for arriving as late as he did, but seeing the pain they went through really put it into perspective how close he was to losing everyone.

"It's not your fault, Goku. You don't have to apologize." Tien said.

"Yeah! You showed up and handled everything and that's what matters." Yamcha added.

"Yes…handled everything." Vegeta muttered, earning an elbow from Bulma. "Dammit, woman!"

Vegeta raised a brow, wondering why they kept saying that name. Nappa couldn't care less and was ready to put them down, but was going to save Piccolo for last, so that he could tell them about the Dragon Balls.

"So…do you have any confidence that you can win this…?" Krillin asked Piccolo.

"None! I never dreamed that someone could possess such power. He far outclasses the Saiyan who came before him." Piccolo responds, sweating a bit.

"A Saiyan who came before…?" 18 asked.

"Goku's brother arrived first, he revealed Goku's true heritage, and then kidnapped Gohan. Piccolo and Goku teamed up to fight Raditz, and Goku sacrificed his life to stop him." Krillin explained.

"We barely managed to beat him too!" Goku added.

"Do you ever think about him, Dad?" Gohan asked.

"Not really, no."

"I see…"

As Nappa was about to beat their brains into mush, Vegeta stopped him. "NAPPA, WAIT!" Everyone turned to the shorter Saiyan, wondering what was about to happen. Vegeta turns to the Z-Fighters. "This "Goku" you keep shouting for, he's Kakarot, isn't he? I'm right, aren't I?"

"That's right…so what if he is?" Krillin confirms.

"I see…so he really did come back to life with the Dragon Balls, just as we heard. Though… I have to say it's rather sad. To think that all this time, Kakarot has been your last hope." Vegeta mocked them.

"He does always manage to do the impossible." Bulma smiled. Goku has saved their lives since the very beginning, and she's certain Vegeta thinks differently now.

"Goku's different than he was last time, you'll see! He'll be much stronger than he was before!" Krillin defends his best friend.

"Whenever it comes to Goku, you always seem to grow a spine." 18 notes, making her husband chuckle.

"Well…it's Goku, I can't help but defend him when I can. He's done so much for us all these years that whenever people talk bad about him, I just feel the need to fight harder for him." Krillin explained.

"Son Goku isn't someone you want to underestimate." Piccolo added.

"I learned that lesson the hard way." Piccolo grunted. His fight with Goku during the 23rd Tournament came to mind.

Beerus thought back to his fights against Goku, smirking. He underestimated him even after he achieved the power of a Super Saiyan God, but that guy was something else. He felt no fear or shame in his defeat, simply upset that the fight had to end. The God of Destruction wondered if Goku could one day give him the fight he's been truly waiting for.

Nappa laughed mockingly. "Oh, is that so!? Then where is he hiding at!? Maybe the reason he isn't here yet is because he's afraid!"

For the first time since the fight started, Gohan worked up the nerve to talk. "He'll be here! My Daddy will be here for sure! And he's gonna beat you guys up!"

"Yeah! Dad's gonna kick your butts!" Goten cheered too.

"Goten!" Trunks hissed.

"What? Your Dad is evil here."

"...Right…" Trunks relented.

Vegeta decided to humor them by saying that they'll wait three hours for Goku to arrive. Nappa was against it, choosing to try attacking the Earthlings again until Vegeta ordered him to stop. Nappa remembered his place in the pecking order. "S-sorry, Vegeta. I guess I got carried away."

"Stupid buffoon." Vegeta hissed. "The idiot always had the habit of getting too ahead of himself whenever he started fighting."

Beerus picked some food out of his teeth. "Hm, reminds me of all Saiyans. The lot of you were always a headache to deal with." Then he looked at Goku. "Still are."

"Huh? Did you say something, Lord Beerus?" Goku tilted his head.

"Yeah, I said handover those grilled fish, Goku!" Beerus yelled, yanking the food away from the Saiyan.

With their three hours, the three last fighters were working to come up with a plan. Gohan apologized to Piccolo for his cowardice. Piccolo growled at his student, disappointed in him. "I was a fool for expecting so much out of you. Run along, we have no need for a coward."

Piccolo tried to ignore the heated glare Chi-Chi was sending his way.

Krillin defended his best friend's son. "Go easy on him, it's his first fight after all."

"Thank you, Krillin!" Chi-Chi exclaimed.

Vegeta and Nappa were having their own discussion as well. The brute was confused as to why Vegeta would buy time for those three to wait for Goku. "He's a traitor to the Saiyan race." The prince responded. "A traitor deserves to see his son and friends die before his own eyes…we're going to show him how powerless he is as he writhes around in agony. And after, say, three or four hours, he'll be begging us to send him to hell."

The entire audience was silent after Vegeta's dialogue of torturing Goku. Cheelai stared down at the prince, legit baffled. "Wow…you really were a straight up villain, weren't you?" She genuinely wondered as to how Vegeta managed to change so much.

"Tch!" Vegeta didn't give a response. However, the prince did see the way his son was staring at his past self, he made a mental note to talk to Trunks privately after all of this was done. Looking down at his daughter, Vegeta could see the way she was analyzing him. She didn't seem afraid, just confused. "Troublesome." Vegeta thought.

Krillin suggested running away, but Piccolo turned the idea down instantly. Even if they were to run, the Saiyans planned to exterminate humanity, so they'd end up dead either way. All Krillin could do was pray for Goku to hurry up and save them.

Once three hours passed, Vegeta grunted in disappointment. "Three hours wasted, and for nothing. It seems that Kakarot is not only a traitor, but a coward as well."

"What took you so long anyway?" Vegeta had to ask.

"Snake Way was pretty long, so all that time I was flying at top speed to get back to King Yemma's station, so that Kami could teleport me back to Earth." Goku explained.

"You weren't just wished back to Earth from the beginning?" Vegeta asked again. "Didn't you all do that on Namek?"

"Shenron at this point could only grant one wish, so they couldn't add anything extra onto the wish of bringing Goku back to life." Piccolo answered.

"M-my Daddy's not a coward!" Gohan yelled.

Nappa cracked his knuckles, having discarded his broken armor. "Finally, we can get down to business! I'm just sorry that Kakarot isn't here to see it himself!"

"I guess we're about to die, huh? I've never been this afraid in my life…" Krillin gulped.

Piccolo had one last plan left. "We only have one chance of being able to beat this guy. However, it's a long shot and assume that everything will go as planned." Piccolo explained to them that a Saiyan's tail is their weak spot, Krillin remembered Goku's tail being his weakness back when they were kids.

"T-this time I won't run away!" Gohan promised.

"See that you don't. The fate of the Earth rests in your hands." Piccolo responded.

"A lot of weight you're putting on him there." Hercule gulped.

"We had no choice, if we failed here, then everyone would've died." Piccolo said.

"Believe in yourself, Gohan. Brush aside this childish doubt and you'll discover a power even greater than my own." Piccolo advised.

Gohan smiled, knowing what Piccolo meant. At the time he had been scared to the core of fighting guys who could exterminate humanity, but there wasn't time to be scared. Everyone was counting on him to save them, so he had to swallow his fear time and time again to push forward. Their battle at the Red Ribbon base against Cell Max proved that once again that he still had unbelievable power to protect those close to him.

"OKAY! HERE GOES NOTHING!" Krillin declared, charging in first. As Nappa prepared to crush him, Krillin blasted the ground to propel himself upwards. Giving Piccolo the chance he needed to grab Nappa's tail.

"NOW, GOHAN!"

"HYAAA!" Gohan charged in to deliver a powerful blow, but he stopped dead in his tracks. Nappa was completely unfazed by his tail being grabbed, landing a bone crushing elbow onto Piccolo's head, knocking him out.

"Not a bad plan, I will admit." Vegeta said. "But any elite Saiyan warrior has long since trained their tails to stop being a weakness. Things like that only work against the low-class and children."

Nappa held Piccolo in his arms. "Hey, don't die yet! We still need you to tell us about the Dragon Balls!"

"Th-this can't be happening…!" Krillin muttered.

"Ha! What fools do you take us for!? Did you think we'd leave our weakness untrained forever!?" Vegeta laughed.

"How disappointing, not even your planet's best can stand up to the first class." Nappa dropped Piccolo's body. "Well then, if he's gonna take a nap, I'll just play with the little ones instead." He slowly made his way to the terrified Gohan. "I'll start with Kakarot's son! You have Saiyan blood, don't ya!? I'm counting on you to give me a real challenge!"

"Gohan, run, please!" Chi-Chi demanded, not realizing the younger Gohan couldn't hear her.

Pan held her Papa's hand, scared for her younger dad. "Fight, Papa!"

"It's alright, Pan." Gohan tried to comfort her.

"What a Father you've got, leaving his son to die alone."

Goku's fork shattered in his grasp, the Earthly Saiyan's glare boring into Nappa. He would never leave Gohan to die, not now or ever.

Nappa brutally kicked Gohan before bitch-slapping him into a rock, but amazingly, Gohan got up to keep fighting. "Heh, heh, that's the spirit, kid! HAAAAA!" Nappa charged to deal the finishing blow.

"YOU BASTARD!" Krillin jumped in, landing two strong attacks on Nappa. He was forced to dodge Nappa's retaliation, then backflipped to gain some distance. Raising one arm to the sky, a disk-shaped KI attack generated to life. "DESTRUCTO DISK!"

Nappa didn't fear the attack. "What a useless technique-"

"NAPPA, DODGE IT!" Vegeta warned him in time, causing Nappa to turn his head to dodge the disk. He watched as it sliced the mountain behind him in half, realizing the attack would've killed him.

"If I didn't warn that dumbass…!" Vegeta growled.

"I really wish you didn't…" Krillin groaned.

"Y-you little-How dare you put a scratch on me! GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!" Nappa unleashed a strong blast of KI that blew Krillin into the air.

"Daddy/Krillin!" 18 and Marron couldn't help but worry. They did not like seeing Krillin get hurt in any way.

"I-I'm fine, guys! Don't worry!" Krillin reassured them.

"NOW, YOU DIE!" Nappa was gonna finish him off, but Piccolo woke back up to blast him in the back. "YOU AGAIN!?"

"The Earth…isn't something to be underestimated!" Piccolo declared.

Hearing that come from Piccolo, especially during that time, brought a smile to Roshi's face. The old King Piccolo never would've declared such a thing as believing in the Earth. He would've simply had faith in his own power, disregarded the idea of working with others, and would refuse to acknowledge the strength of his enemies. But, this Piccolo proved that he was different and that the chance to be good existed within him.

It just took the efforts of Goku and Gohan to truly bring that change in him.

Before the fight could start again, Piccolo and Gohan felt an energy source coming their way. "W-what is this KI!? There's a tremendous KI heading here from far away…!"

"I-It's true…an amazing yet familiar KI…!" Gohan gasped.

"Hey! What are you guys going on about!?" Nappa demanded.

Piccolo grinned, feeling confident in their chances once again. "It can only be him…it's Son Goku! It's Son Goku! He's finally here! I should have known that fool would make us wait!"

"I've never seen you so happy, Piccolo." Dende laughed.

"Such a hopeless situation was looking good in our favor for the first time. I couldn't help but look a little happy even if it was about Goku." Piccolo smirked.

"Ah yeah! I would've just left Kami's Lookout by this point! I was using Nimbus, so that I could conserve my energy for the fight, Korin didn't have too many Senzus left." Goku explained.

"Still…it felt great knowing that you were on your way, buddy." Krillin smiled.

Gohan felt like a kid in a candy store. "It's my Dad…! Dad is finally coming!"

"Kakarot!? Where!?" Nappa looked around.

Vegeta picked up his scouter. "They seem to be able to sense KI…let's see…" He activated the device, picking up Goku's power level. Nappa asked him if Goku was truly on his way. "I'm not sure if it's Kakarot or not, but we'll find out in about four minutes. And if it's him, his power level exceeds 5000!"

"5-5000!?"

Vegeta barked out his orders. "Nappa! Kill those two now! We can't risk having all four team up on us; They may prove to be an issue! They'll help serve as an example to Kakarot!"

"I think that's the first time I've seen you look so flustered in this." Bulma said.

"Tch, even I had to admit that all of them fighting at once would've been an issue, but knowing Kakarot now…he would've fought us 1-on-1."

"True, I would've!" Goku overheard them.

"Of course…" Bulma sighed.

Nappa questioned about the Dragon Balls, but Vegeta reassured him that they'll just go to Planet Namek to get their wish for immortality.

Dende really didn't like what happened to his home just for some dumb wish for immortality. Though, of course, if it never happened then he wouldn't have met his friends here on Earth. So, some good came from all of that.

Nappa refused to believe that Goku's power was so high, but decided that it didn't matter as long as he got to kill the Z-Fighters left.

Gohan turned to his mentor. "Mr. Piccolo! I'll keep them busy somehow until my Dad gets here! After all, Mr. Piccolo, if you die, Kami dies too, and the Dragon Balls will be…!"

"Look at you, getting all brave." Videl gave Gohan a small kiss.

"If being brave means more kisses, then I'll keep showing it to you." Gohan returned the kiss.

"Oh, you-"

"Ew! Mama and Papa are being all lovey dovey!" Pan gagged.

"N-no, we're not!" The adults blushed, embarrassed by their daughter.

"Nonsense, there's no way you can keep them busy all by yourself." Piccolo said.

Nappa welcomed the little challenge from Gohan, charging straight for him, but he didn't expect the kid to land such a quick and powerful strike to his face. The force of it sent Nappa flying to the opposite rocky wall.

"Yeah, Gohan! That's my big bro, for ya!" Goten enjoyed seeing Gohan kick some ass. His praise caused his brother to blush even brighter.

Nappa burst from the rubble, extremely pissed off. "You wretched brat! I've had enough of you!" Pulling back his arm, the dangerous KI was ready to explode. Gohan was frozen in fear from the killing intent aimed at him. "NOW, YOU DIE!"

"GOHAN!" Audience members screamed his name, fearing for his life.

Piccolo and Gohan were silent, knowing how this was going to end.

Piccolo is seen rushing to the space between Gohan and the blast, the Namekian almost tripping as he desperately tries to reach the boy. He put himself right in front of Gohan to protect him as the attack slammed into him like a bullet train. Gohan and Krillin watched in horror as Piccolo's body was burnt and brutalized by the KI blast.

When the dust cleared, Piccolo was barely able to stand, his clothes destroyed, and body extremely damaged. Gohan fell to his butt, shocked by his mentor's actions. "M-Mr. Piccolo…"

"Thank you, Piccolo." Chi-Chi said to the Namekian. She knew Piccolo had protected Gohan, but she had never actually thanked him for doing so.

"You don't have to thank me." Piccolo said, before turning to Gohan's family.

"G-Gohan…run away…" Piccolo choked out before collapsing.

"Piccolo…" Pan muttered, not expecting to witness such a thing. Her eyes started to water, not wishing to see him hurt like this. She felt a hand touch her head, looking up she saw Piccolo smiling down at her. "Mr. Piccolo?"

"I'm alright, I'm right here."

"Y-yeah!" She tried to hold back her tears.

Gohan crawled towards Piccolo's body. "M-Mr. Piccolo! Why did you save me!?"

"D-didn't I tell you to run…hu-hurry up and get outta here…" Piccolo could barely raise his voice.

"D-don't die! My Dad will be here soon! P-Please don't die!" Gohan pleaded.

"Heh, seems the fool wanted to die first." Nappa laughed. "Oh well, it doesn't matter…they're all gonna be dead soon anyway."

"Bastard…!" Yamcha growled.

On Kami's Lookout, the old Namekian was heaving heavily, his life force fading. "It looks like my time is about to run out… Goku didn't make it in time."

"I'm sorry, Kami." Goku apologized again, seeing his old teacher die like this hurt a lot.

"But in the end… Piccolo surpassed me, the God of Earth… Mr. Popo… I leave the rest to you…" Kami spoke as he faded away, leaving Popo alone on the Lookout.

Piccolo stared at Gohan, the boy he had spent a year training, the son of his sworn enemy. "How pathetic… King Piccolo of all people…protecting a little kid…it's disgraceful…" He laughed softly. "It's because of you and your Dad…you two must've rubbed off on me… Gohan… you're the only person who ever treated me with respect…to be honest these last few months weren't so bad…" Tears were falling from his eyes. For the first time in his life, Piccolo was openly crying. "Don't die… Gohan…"

"I didn't… I didn't die…" Gohan held back his own tears, the old feelings of Piccolo's death resurfaced again.

"I know, and I'm proud, Gohan." Piccolo smiled at his student.

Gohan stared at his mentor's lifeless body for a few seconds, despair and fear dying in his body, making way for unyielding rage. "UWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Gohan roared like a mighty beast, placing his hands to his forehead. "MASENKO…!"

"What an immense KI…!" Krillin gasped.

Vegeta was shocked by his scouter's readings, Gohan's power just kept rising. "It's 2800! Just as I thought, these guys can radically alter their power level!"

2800, eh!?" Nappa grinned as Gohan fired his strongest attack. Nappa braced himself and deflected the attack away. "For a little brat, you pack quite a punch. My arm actually stings a little."

"Dammit!" Chi-Chi hissed, biting into her food with rage. She wanted that bald punk to pay for all the hurt he's caused her son.

Vegeta smirked, reading Gohan's decreasing power. "His power level dropped dramatically. Seems the kid put everything he had into that attack."

"They're…they're too damn strong…" Krillin cried, unable to move.

Gohan looked back at his mentor's corpse. "I'm sorry, Mr. Piccolo… I wasn't able to do anything. I-I can't even run away anymore." He fell to his knees as Nappa stomped over. Krillin cried in frustration at his inability to do anything to help Gohan, not wishing to see his best friend's son get killed.

"Daddy…" Marron felt bad for her Dad. She grabbed his hand, hoping to help him feel better about the whole thing.

Nappa raised his foot to stomp the boy into red paste. "HAHAHA! I can't wait to see the look on Kakarot's face when he finds his son smashed to a pulp!" Nappa brought down his foot on Gohan, but instead of feeling crunched bones, his foot cracked the ground. Both he and Vegeta were in shock at Gohan's disappearing act.

Vegeta couldn't help but growl in frustration at the person who had finally shown up as everyone else was grinning in anticipation.

Gohan was off to the side, sitting on the Nimbus. "N-Nimubs…!?"

Looking up, everyone saw a figure floating in the air, staring down at the rest of them. They descended to the ground, allowing everyone to see just who it was. Vegeta grinned at their special guest. "It's about time you arrived!"

Son Goku has finally arrived on the battlefield, and he was pissed.

Whis turned to Goku. "You have to stop being late like that, Goku. It's never good to be late to a party."

"Sorry, Whis, I'll try not to make that a habit." Goku scratched the back of his head.

"You already have." The angel sighed.

Chapter End

NOTE: Yup, I'm making you wait till the next part.

I skipped Yamcha, because I don't care for the Saibamen. Simply needed the fight with Nappa itself and unfortunately for Yamcha, he was never a part of that. I also didn't include the Goku scenes, because I like the idea of just not knowing when he's gonna appear. Everyone is in threat of getting wiped out and Goku's seemingly on his way.

The Straw Hats and Toriko's group are NOT going to be included, but I feel like mentioning them would be fun. Also, the One Piece live action was pretty good. Krillin and Luffy are both voiced by Mayumi Tanaka, which is why I make the joke.

Yes, they will watch the OP x Toriko x DB crossover special eventually. I don't care if you have issues with it.
