"Anything you say can and will be held against you, do you understand?"
Jade smirked, un-crossing her legs and leaning back into her seat. "Tori Vega."
"Anything else you want to say?"
"Just Tori."
David Vega guffawed. "Good answer. Come down, Tori. I approve of your new girlfriend."
Tori breathed out a sigh of relief at her dad's words. Of all the people she had brought home so far, only Jade had managed to make him laugh. The rest were either slinking into a corner under her father's murderous stares, or stuttering out stupid answers from his interrogations after he warned them about his job and the shotgun collection he keeps in his wardrobe.
Maybe it's because she can't get me pregnant, she smiles to herself as she glided down the stairs into the lap of her love.
