In the Khun family throne hall where the prominent figures of the family were still gathered, a voice interceded midway of the meeting.
"What if, dear Amelina ran away because she rejected the position of the princess? She might not have known that father already interceded for her," the man merely smiled, as if happy that Amelina defied the infamous Jahad's Army. "Well, it may be unthinkable for a girl to reject such fame, but without the direct supervision of the family, won't she be in danger outside? The Jahad's Army might come after her again to force the title on her."
Asensio frowned at the words of his half-brother who looked more interested than Asensio would've liked in the whole situation. "What are you trying to say?"
The man grinned, "I say that we announce to the world that Amelina is a very important member of the family, and anyone with the right mind would think twice before laying a hand on her. Besides, seeing she managed to fight and even kill the commander, I think she very much deserves it, don't you think?"
"Then?"
"Since she was supposed to be a Jahad princess, why don't we call her the Khun's very own princess? Something never done by any other 10 Great Families, a princess bearing only her own family's name!"
Asensio deeply thought of it, before glancing at the man sitting on the throne.
Eduan, looking deep in thought eventually waved away, "Do whatever you see fit."
"As you wish, father," the man, who in the future would lend a helping hand to Amelina, cheerfully quipped. "Then, from today on, Khun Amelina's official title will be the Khun family's princess!"
With her new title, Amelina unknowingly made enemies and allies alike.
Once the meeting adjourned, Asensio who was filled with a sense of emptiness returned to the main estate and by instinct, his feet brought him towards Amelina's room. Now that the owner had left, the room had never felt so empty even when Asensio cleaned the room when Amelina was away to train with Maschenny.
The only noticeable thing was the teal curtain billowing by the strong breeze from the open window, and the man slowly walked towards the window to close it.
'…this is?'
On the window frame was two letters weighed using a diamond-encrusted key.
He had a feeling who it might've been from, but he denied it, repeating to himself that he doesn't deserve it. He doesn't.
But he who have sinned, continued to hope.
True to his hope, one of the letters had his name written, clearly revealing the sender. Because in this world, there was only one person who would call him like this.
To big brother Asensio
He didn't even read the content, yet he let out a sob, hands trembling when he caressed the thin letter then embraced it right to his chest.
"A…ame… I'm sorry…"
By the door was the recipient of the other letter on the window, who only let out a sigh seeing his foolish son sobbing his hearts out.
Perhaps that way, he too- the other foolish man- could ever feel better.
'May the Tower guide you to a high, high place where you will be happy. Then, when you've finished climbing, come back anytime to this nest of yours, Ame.'
"She did what?"
"That, Princess Maschenny… the report stated that Princess Amelina killed the company commander dispatched of retrieving her, and currently is missing-"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
The soldier flinched as he slightly trembled from fear. He would only ever see this side of Princess Maschenny acting like a maniac if it involves Khun Amelina. Her mood just yesterday was certainly good since Princess Amelina was about to come, but today felt like stepping around landmines.
He had to say only the right things.
"As expected from my dear little sister, she could even fight against a commander if she tried," Maschenny grinned, even looking so happy. "That to say, isn't a company commander too weak for Amelina now? Maybe a corps commander would suffice?"
"…what should our next course of action, Princess Maschenny?"
The blue-haired woman smiled, only shrugging her shoulders. "Nothing."
"Yes? Nothing? But-"
"The Khun family must've retaliated if father decides to step up and there were no orders from the higher-ups as well. It means they're ignoring the situation in favour of avoiding a war with the Khun family. And there's already a princess sent over, so I guess they're satisfied with that for now."
'But they definitely will start to pay attention to Amelina, and try to make her a Jahad princess sooner or later. Well, it's a win-win situation for me anyway,' Maschenny relished in the thought of someday, Amelina would still be playing right into her hands.
"Also," the princess chuckled, glancing at the hall where she saw the vice-commander of the squadron. "Now, even if I do nothing, everyone else would train Amelina for me, so why bother?"
"Train…?"
"Ah, ignore what I said," Maschenny nonchalantly shooed the soldier away. 'I expect great things from you, Lo Po Bia Feng.'
Standing motionlessly after his dismissal by the Three Lords at the Royal Palace, Lo Po Bia Feng- formerly vice-commander of the fifth company squadron vowed to himself. 'If no one's going to deal with you, I will definitely kill you myself… Khun… Amelina!!'
