Time passed by quicker than the tribrid and the tour guide had ever expected it to as they spent time together. Suddenly, it was the last day of the two weeks she had promised Landon that she would spend with him. Over the course of the two weeks, the two talked at school and hung out whenever Landon did not have work. He had even come over to study with her so he could spend time with her while working on his class work. He had wanted to take advantage of as much time as he could possibly get from her. After all, he wasn't sure how she would react once her two weeks were over.

He knew that she cared about him a lot. That wasn't a question at this point, even if he didn't know why she cared about him so much. All that mattered was that she did. However, part of him was still a little worried that she would throw away all of the enjoyment they spent together once the deal was up to ensure his safety of some fake curse about everyone getting close to her dying. It was obvious she believed it. But no one was cursed to always lose people, no matter how much their life sucked.

Landon never felt like he had much to look forward to. He just moved from foster family in the area to another foster family in the area. He had seen the difference of how people treat people in public vs private. He had been abused and neglected his whole life and told he was worthless. And he always wished it wasn't true but ended up believing it all after so long. And he always felt like the other shoe would drop whenever something good came. Like some force haunting him to make his life even more of a nightmare after giving him some hope.

And then he met Hope. And despite his own defenses, he couldnt help but instantly be interested in her and wanting to learn more about her. Despite his own self warnings about the other shoe as he waited for it to all collapse. And he knew she had the same defenses, same fears of it all to get messed up. But hers was about him ending up dying on her while he was afraid people would continue to disappoint as they always seemed to.

But they had both managed to get past their own individual traumas during the two weeks and purely just enjoy each other's company. They both had fun watching Star Wars sometimes and ordering pizza whenever they were studying at her mansion. She had kept her promise of two weeks. But now Landon was worried about the final day. She had loosened up her fears and let herself enjoy this but if it struck up again, she could push him away, despite everything that had happened between them. And Landon was suddenly afraid for the first time in two weeks that the other shoe would indeed drop. That it would all come crumbling down.

"Hey" Hope greeted, coming up from behind Landon, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Hey" Landon greeted her with a smile, his worries easing up as he turned to face her. "So I was thinking we could hang out tonight after my shift? I only work a couple of hours today and then we can maybe watch another movie?"

"You dont have any school work due tomorrow?" Hope questioned, looking at him.

"None that I dont already have finished" Landon might have decided to stay up all night doing as much homework as he possibly could so he could get more time with Hope. Just in case the other shoe decided to drop and especially if it didn't. He wanted to enjoy time with her.

"Well, in that case, sure. I'll head to the Grill after school until you're done with your shift. And then we can go to my place" Hope said with a smile

Landon smiled back at her warmly, glad the last day seemed to be going so well. It gave him some hope for the future of them spending time together, even if it would not be in a romantic sense like Landon wanted it to be. After all, just being friends with Hope Marshall seemed like something extraordinary and too good to be true. But it wasn't.

She actually wanted to spend time with him and enjoyed watching his movies that she never would have considered watching otherwise. And the mere thought of that was enough to make him feel happy, no matter how this turned out. Even if she decided to drop the other shoe and leave, he would treasure the memories he had with her. Always. She had already left some unexplainable mark on his life and was the best person he had ever met, though considering he had grown up surrounded by assholes, that didn't say much. But it was still true.

"That sounds great. I'll see you at lunch?" he questioned, looking at her.

Hope nodded. "I'll be there" she promised before walking away, towards her locker.

She too had been thinking about the fact this was the last day of the promised two weeks. The memories of the past two weeks flooded through her mind as she opened her locker, wishing things in her life could be simple. She recalled how much fun she had. The way he smiled brightly whenever she proved she was paying attention to what he wanted her to watch. Hope loved his eyes that were a beautiful green-gray color that wasn't really a color. She loved that he was kind and caring and trusting of her.

But today was the last day that any of this could be possible. If she was strong enough to break this bond between them. Which, if she was honest, she wasnt sure that was possible at this point. Not when she cared so deeply about him that she struggled to see a time period in which they didn't spend time together. Even if it's only been two weeks. He made her happy. Happier than she had felt since she was seven years old and thought her family actually had a chance at being together.

Eventually it was lunch time, and the two were seated outside, on the ground away from the others at the school. Little did Landon know, she placed a small spell every time to keep them from being bothered. That way they can just talk and hang out and not have to worry about the assholes or the teachers that didn't want them outside of specified eating places.

"Have you been working on any new art work?" Landon asked as he leaned against the wall and looked at Hope.

"Actually, yes I have. I am almost done with it, but I havent quite finished it yet."

"Am I allowed to know what it is or is that top secret?" Landon questioned playfully.

"A secret for now. Perhaps I will show you tonight" She smiled a bit at him.

"Well, if you do, I very much look forward to seeing it"

The honesty was obvious in Landon's voice. So far, Hope had been shy with her artwork. He felt as though it was because she did not know if she would continue spending time with him past the two weeks she had planned. She didnt want to feel vulnerable and show her feelings in the form of art to someone she might not be seeing much of lately.

Hope smiled back at him and looked down before starting to eat. "So what do you want to watch tonight?" she asked him, thoughts going through his mind

"I was thinking maybe Back to the Future?" Landon suggested. "It's another scifi classic involving a teenager getting thrown back into the past where his parents were teenagers"

"And so its called Back to the Future because he's trying to get home to his own time, which is the future?" Hope questioned, causing Landon to nod.

"Exactly. It's a good movie. A little bit weird with a certain plot of the overall plot. But its good anyways. And I'd like to show it to you. The series as a whole is a trilogy. But the best one is the original one"

"Alright. we can watch Back to the Future then. Maybe pick up some pizza on the way to the mansion. Or I can ask Aunt Freya to make sure we have a frozen one. And we can just have that be our dinner."

"That sounds great to me. Pizza and Back to the Future and you. Sounds like a dream come true" Landon said playfully.

Heat rose in Hope's cheeks at his words, and she smiled. "Well, I'm glad to make tonight a dream come true."

Soon enough, it was after school, and Hope was at the Mystic Grill, sipping her soda as she sketched in her sketchbook, waiting for Landon Kirby to finish his shift. She was getting lost in thought about everything that was going on. How she felt. What she wanted to do. All of these thoughts filled her mind as she continued to sketch, focusing on the details and letting the whole picture come together on its own.

Landon Kirby came over to Hope's table before setting a milkshake down on it. Not just any milkshake, Hope's favorite. She hadn't ordered it, but it was his gift to her. And well worth it as he saw a bright smile form on his face.

"Here. Peanut butter blast, whipped cream on the bottom. Just how you like it"

"Thanks, Landon" Hope said gratefully with a small smile, looking up at her favorite waiter.

Landon smiled back at her. "Anything else I can get you?" He asked, mainly for an excuse to stop by again during his shift.

"Maybe a side of fries i can eat until its time for you to get off of your shift" Hope suggested, causing Landon to smile

"Coming right up" he promised before leaving again.

Hope sipped her milkshake, smiling a bit at the flavor and the memory of when she first told Landon about it that came to the surface. She wanted to see him tonight. To spend time with him. She only hoped she would be able to do what needed to be done by the end of it.

As Hope spotted Landon over at Connor's table and Connor and the others getting up, she couldn't help the way her enhanced hearing caught the sound of the conversation.

You guys are seven bucks short." Landon told the group of teens

"No, that's your tip, Kirby. That's negative seven bucks for the poor service that we received." Connor said before heading out with his friends.

Hope's face hardened at the words she heard, the lights flickering slightly, but she made herself in control of her powers. Instead she tore her gaze away as Landon left once Connor and his annoying friends were gone.

Soon enough, Landon came back over to Hope, a smile on his face. "Hey, I'm all done. Ready to head out of here?" Hope finished the last of her fries before standing up, setting how much it cost on the counter. She then pulled out some money and held it out as a tip. Landon took the money and looked down at it. "This is a bit much"

"You're a kind, caring person, and those assholes treated you unfairly by not fully paying. Just consider this finishing up their order and a little extra" Hope said. "Now, come on, we've got a movie to go see"

Landon hesitated but pocketed the money, and he headed out of the Mystic Grill, the tribrid walking out alongside him. He smiled a bit as he looked over at Hope while they walked towards the Mikaelson mansion. Neither of which had their own cars so they were peacefully enjoying their walk. It was nice out. Just a light breeze. Landon wondered what was going to happen that night but mostly just focused on the fact he was spending time with her.

After they reached the mansion, Hope headed over to the kitchen to start cooking the pizza that Freya had gotten for them while they were at school. Hope looked over at Landon, while he was grabbing a couple of drinks to bring into the theater room. She tore her gaze away and started up the oven to cook the pizza. The two of them then headed to the theater, and Hope found the Back to the Future movie Landon wanted them to watch. She relaxed against the couch and sipped her drink, thoughts going through her mind as the movie began playing.

She was glad he still wanted to spend time with her, but part of her was still worried that one of her father's enemies would come, and Landon could get hurt or even killed. He didn't deserve that. He deserved a happy life. But even a life without her, she knew that wasn't what he was getting. He had briefly mentioned the situation with his foster families and how they treated him, and Hope wished she could just take him away from all of that and keep him here. But she also knew him being here was dangerous.

After about 20 minutes, she paused the TV. "The pizza should be ready." she said. The two stood up from the couch and went to get some pizza

"So have you considered my request to see the art work you are nearly done with?" Landon questioned playfully, a small smile forming on his face as he grabbed a few slices

"I think this one should wait until after I have completed it" She chuckled. "I still have some details I want to finish up before you can see it"

"Does that mean we are hanging out past the two weeks?"

Hope was silent, and she grabbed her last slice before heading back to the theater, not any sure of her answer than he was. She didnt know what she would do when it came down to the end of today. If she would choose to protect him or spend time with him, which would put him in danger. Landon sighed softly and followed after Hope, suddenly more nervous than before about her decision. They took a seat on the couch and started eating as Hope resumed the movie, both silent as they thought and enjoyed the movie, wishing things could just be simple and not full of difficult decisions.

Once they were done eating the pizza, they threw the paper plates away in the garbage can they had in the theater room, and Hope relaxed against the couch, pushing away her fears so she could be happy and enjoy this time with Landon, whether it was the last time or not.

Hope scooted over a little on the couch, closer to Landon as she watched whatever the name of the sci-fi movie Landon had wanted to watch today, Back to the Future, was it? She was mentally distracted even though whe was in fact watching this and taking it in. It was definitely about time travel, a concept that she currently found bizarre given what was happening in the movie. She looked over as a romantic song played, spotting Landon's gaze on her instead of the movie. subconsciously, she moved closer to him. She lifts her chin, a quick unconscious movement, and he leans down, cupping her face with his free hand.

He didn't mean to kiss her - but he can't stop touching his mouth to hers lightly. Hope had a smile on her face as she kissed him back, slowly deepening it as she enjoyed the moment. His hands slid down to her waist, and he was pulling her against him, lost in the sensations that spiraled through his nerves and blood and bones. His palms smooth down her back. He can feel her breathing against him; a gasp in between kisses. Her fingers tangle in his dark curly hair before sliding down to his neck, tugging him closer to her.

Eventually Hope found herself slowly pulling away, easily getting lost in his eyes, not wanting to leave this moment that made her feel happy and secure, like he couldn't possibly hurt her as much as Roman Sienna had. Like she could actually be happy with this boy she had met only two weeks previously. Suddenly it came crashing down on her that he didn't know what she was.

He wasn't kissing her. Not really. He was kissing an attractive human girl that he spent time with for the past two weeks. He didn't know her. Though Hope wished he did. She wanted to tell him absolutely everything. She wanted him to genuinely look at her as he was right now. But she couldn't. It was too dangerous for him to know the truth. All it would do is get him killed.

Before Hope could stop herself, she kissed him again for only a moment before pulling away with a smile. "We should probably keep watching the movie" she breathed out, her gaze remaining on him.

Landon nodded and turned to face the screen after a moment, though all he could think about was the feeling of her lips on his and how he wanted to feel it again. The fact that she wanted to feel it again as well. He already cared about her so much, this girl that had shown up in town merely two weeks ago and hadn't planned to stay long.

He had immediately been interested in her, but he hadn't believed it would get to this point. To the point where he kissed her and she actually kissed him back too. Yet she did. And then she kissed him again, leaving his head spinning and his body breathless, even now after the kiss. All he knew was he was definitely going to be writing about this in his journal because he knew it was something that would stay with him, whether it happened again or not.
