CHAPTER 26

Charlotte packed everything that was hers, and Tom's things, as much as she could carry in a wagon. His foreman and his family would collect some things, like furniture from the house, and take them to where they rented. Charlotte left, after paying two months' rent in advance in the employees' village, both the foreman and the other three families who worked for her would have at least two months to find another job, or who knows, in that time she could find and solve all these problems created by William Thatcher. Charlotte had already called some acquaintances, who were lawyers, but when they heard the name Thatcher, they all got scared and said they couldn't risk their profession.

She said goodbye to her employees, those people were more than that, they were her friends; Thanks to those people, it was that Charlotte managed to make that farm go forward and made Tomas' dream come true, during all these years, they managed to save the lives or recover several mountie horses, which were injured during the battles, in addition to tame the wildest. Charlotte smiled to herself, she would fight, and that dream would never die. And her friends would be with her. Charlotte said goodbye, telling everyone that she would come back with solutions and asked everyone to trust her, and getting on the wagon headed towards Hope Valle, she luckily managed to take her horse Etnia and Tom's horse, Éras. They were pulling the wagon, he had to go slowly, because they weren't used to the wagon, but at least he took them with it, stopping in the center of the city, he sent a telegram to Tom, as soon as he stopped at the base of the trains where he worked, he would receive it.

WE LOST THE ERAS AND ETNA TO HOPE MARRIED ELIZABETH . CHARLOTE.

Charlotte, following her path, knew that soon she would be in Hope Valle and would see her son Jack... And her daughter-in-law.

She was thinking during that trip, she had plenty of time to make plans and she could really see that Tomas was right. As always Tomas was right... He was always a wise, honest and honorable man. Charlotte now, stopping to let the horses rest, pitched her tent and lay down looking at the moon, and continued to think:

She had always enjoyed receiving Jack's letters, and now she still received Elizabeth's; Charlotte laughed a lot at his exploits with the children, but mostly at her exploits with her Jack. Rose, was always adorable, their families were friends forever, she had her flaws and her qualities like anyone else, but she never managed to make Jack lose his temper. Elizabeth was the opposite, she went from zero to ten in a second, she moved Jack in a way that Charlotte never saw anyone manage to do.

First letter, he described how he found out why he went to that city, it was to protect the spoiled princess of Hamilton, and soon after another letter arrived saying who she was, and that she wouldn't last in that place not even a week. And when Charlotte least thought it, another letter came, saying how her top had been, and she confronted him with her hands on her hips, telling him to be prepared to stay there for a long time, that he was going to eat a lot of coal dust, because a Thatcher never backs down from a fight. Jack, he always wrote to her while he was on a mission, but they were always healing letters and one a month. But then came Elizabeth... In the first week it was a letter, and in the second onwards, three letters or more began to arrive, until the madwoman entered the mine, with the widows, and from there they fought and got their houses, Jack at that season wrote:

— Mom, I tried to hold her, it was dangerous and I knew it, but she said that if I couldn't hold other women by law, that I couldn't stop her either...

- Oh Mother! What am I going to do with her...

Charlotte laughed, remembering that letter, she even imagined Jack's face when everything happened and the worst thing was that he wrote it...

"Mom, can you believe she even took my clothes to work in the coal mine?" My slacks and shirt, it molded her perfectly, it was a beautiful sight. And my clothes have never smelled so good.

Charlotte now agreed with Tomas, her son had never been more involved with a woman than this Elizabeth Thatcher. And everything could be better, if she wasn't the damn man's daughter. And now, here she was, heading for Hope Valle, and she would have to be careful not to jeopardize the start of her son's marriage. Charlotte was determined. He would fight William Thatcher with all his might, but he would not hurt Elizabeth or Jack. Since her son loved that woman, she would also be willing to know and love her like a daughter.

She laughed... She never imagined having a daughter, a girl, full of bows and ribbons. She didn't even know how to treat her, because in her life, both her brothers and her children were all men, and so Charlotte fell asleep, dreaming of what her new daughter would be like.

AUTHOR'S NOTE= I noticed the difficulty that many people have when trying to translate our Portuguese. I would like your opinion.

Everyone knows that my English is basic because I've already spoken in some stories here, and most of the time with the help of Uncle Google. Do you prefer that I post in Portuguese in English? Or in both languages?
