Chapter 29
Everyone stepped back.
Kiyoshi was curious to what he sensed just a short while ago, and yet, when he found one of his aunts near a rather large egg, he could only assume. "Auntie?" he asked gently.
But she was silent, the egg she stared at was starting to move, at the same time, the color of it changed. It went from a blood red to a dark red, then oddly altered to a deep, dark poisons green color. It started to move shortly after.
"Step back, this one is toxic." She warned.
"Toxic?"
She nodded to him. "The sudden discoloration of the egg, it means that it has a poison element…" She appeared worried to it all. "Poison dragons… sometimes, they end up harming themselves more than those around them… if they are not adjusted to their element…"
She sounded worried. "Auntie… is uncle Junpei in that egg?"
She only nodded her head to him.
"But being a poison dragon… it's a dangerous breed, as I said before, many had died to their own venom, unable to control it's toxicity…"
CRAcK
Kiyoshi jumped as the egg began to hatch, green mist began to ooze out until more cracks appeared, and then…
BOOM!
He was taken aback, but as the smoke settled, he paused to see his uncle lying in the egg. "Ugh…" he moaned oddly. "I feel like crap…"
Nuwa approached with caution. "Junpei…" she said gently.
He appeared half asleep, he turned his head in a lazy manner to peer over to her. He smiled warmly. "Hey… how long was I out for? I don't remember much of anything… but I feel weird." He said offhandedly.
"Uncle Junpei… you just hatched from a dragon egg, I think you got turned like me."
His uncle's face dropped in shock. "Huh… me? Wait, how could that even be possible?" he tried to sit up but appeared to have gotten dizzy trying.
Nuwa was quick to get Junpei in a robe and hold him up. "Why… do I feel so weird?" he asked.
Kiyoshi decided to help, taking the other side of his uncle. He kept him upright. "Let's go see my dad, in fact, we just helped Uncle Choso, he hatched too…"
"What? Hatched?" Uncle Junpei asked in a slurred tone. "I didn't ask for eggs…"
"He might be a little delirious for a while…" his aunt Nuwa whispered to Kiyoshi.
He snickered and nodded. It was rather funny as Uncle Junpei was just uttering nonsense all the way back to the village, when they arrived at the nursery his uncle Choso was about to spring to his feet, but was firmly sat back down by his wife. "Take it easy, he's coming to you," aunt Rhea said gently.
Kiyoshi eased his uncle down, who began to look about the room oddly. "Did we always have such a big living room?"
"He sounds drunk…" father muttered.
"He looks drunk" snickered Fushiguro sensei.
Grandma on the other hand merely smiled. "His body lost too much poison…"
"HUH?!" came from the room.
"Junpei is a poison dragon… how interesting, these have not been seen before…"
"But I didn't eat anything weird…"
Utter nonsense was coming out from his uncle, it was even concerning Choso!
However, grandma merely smiled. "I'll handle this." She cupped her hands, and a surge went through and gathered into her palms. When she was satisfied she kept her hands cupped but then offered Uncle Junpei an odd looking medial pill. "Swallow this," she said gently.
Uncle Junpei thought nothing off it and took the remedy and swallowed it without hesitation.
Then… his mouth started to foam!
"Uncle…"
Kiyoshi was held back by his father, everyone stepped back and stared as his mouth continued to foam, and then, he licked his lips clean of it and suddenly appeared to be coming too. "Whoa… what a trip…" Peering about, he appeared far more coherent than before. "What the hell was that about? What was that medicine?"
Grandma snickered. "Well, to humans, that was no medicine," she said and chuckled a little louder. "That was a million times the lethal dose for a human to take of a toxin called botulinum. One nanogram can kill a human. A pound of it can wipe out humanity" she explained.
Uncle Junpei suddenly looked pale. "It can what?!" he demanded.
"You had him EAT that?!" Choso protested. "Lady Tiamat!"
"At ease, it just shows me that he needed a boost, when he was hatching he must have expelled poison to weaken the egg, but he used too much. A dragon like him can suffer if they do not maintain their poison level, at the same time, he is just developing and doesn't know how to make his own yet." Grandma explained.
Yet, she smiled as she peered to aunt Nuwa. "It's a good thing you my dear are a venom dragon, you can help him."
The room paused.
"Venom dragon?" Yua asked.
Kiyoshi jumped a little, she was still here!
"Yes, a venom dragon… most males would die the moment they come in contact with me. However, since Junpei has a poison ability himself, as well, I was careful with him… I made sure not to harm him. But now… he is immune to my poison!" she said cheerfully.
"Huh?" Uncle Junpei muttered. "I am SO confused right now…"
"It happens, but I am impressed, two of the ten brothers have turned…" grandma said and nodded her approval. "It starts."
