Riiiiing
Riiiii- A man picks up the phone "Hello..."
"Hey, You got it on the second ring. Great job Mr Aizawa" Mina Ashido said over the phone.
"Mina. You should be more polite to him" Izuku said, worried that Aizawa might hang up on them.
Aizawa simply sighed "What do you two want..."
"Well you see, sir" Izuku began "M-Mina and I were... We were wondering if you'd allow the two of us to leave school grounds tomorrow so we can ... Spend some personal time together."
"... You two wanna go on a date?..." Aizawa said unimpressed before sighing "You realize that you two have children to take care of right?"
Izuku quickly responded "Y-Yes! But we-"
"We came up with a plan for that!" Mina interrupted, "The girls in class told us they wouldn't mind watching Eri and Kota for us."
Izuku then followed up with "I also thought it would be a great way for Eri and Kota to connect with the class a bit better. If I recall, you did say this was a class project."
Silence followed Izuku's statement, they could only hope he was considering it.
"... You two realize that UA doesn't even want your class off the school grounds right? After so many encounters with villains from your class. We're worried that if any of you step out of our jurisdiction, something bad will happen."
Izuku and Mina winced at that. It was true, the league seemed to follow them wherever they went.
"... I'll allow it" Mina and Izuku we're stunned to hear that and we're about to speak until Aizawa cut them off "I'll allow it under a number of rules. First, if you see, hear or even feel like there might be a villain near you. You come back immediately, no games. UA doesn't need anymore bad press. Next, you make sure to come back before 10pm at the latest. Finally, I don't want those kids leaving that house, this way we can monitor the kids and the students to see if they treat the kids inappropriately. Understood?"
Izuku and Mina's jaws were hanging open before they both suddenly yelled "Yes!" In glee.
"Gah! My ear!" Aizawa yelled as he recoiled
"S-Sorry Mr Aizawa. We understand the rules though and are willing to abide by them!"
"Good. Do me a favor and try not to get any bad press out there. Remember, people know your faces from the sports festival. Someone is always watching." Aizawa warned.
Mina hugged Izuku from the side "You can count on us! Thanks again!"
"Copy, have a good night." Aizawa said before hanging up.
Mina then turned to Izuku "Isn't this great, Midori!"
Izuku chuckled "Yeah. I'm pretty excited, I hope everything works out tomorrow. Oh! Jirou said you had her phone number, would you mind sharing it with me? She wants me to text her if I think of song ideas."
Mina nodded and grabbed her phone "Sure thing!"
Meanwhile, Kota and Eri were currently taking a break from playing with toys to just talk.
"So. Do you like the house so far?" Eri asked curiously.
Kota sighed "It's nice... I don't have anything bad to say about it. Glad the UA staff put my bed in the guest room though."
"Oh..." Eri said a bit deflated "Sorry about the past few nights... I didn't know that you didn't like snuggling with me."
Kota immediately blushed "W-What?!" He did his best to regain his composure quickly "I-It's just that... It gets a little cramped in your bed... A-And I feel like I might fall off."
Eri put a finger to her lips "Hmmm... I guess you're right. Sometimes I bump into the wall. Sorry about that"
Kota gulped "... I-Its fine..."
Eri smiled a bit "Hey. Do you think Mama and Deku might buy us some new toys if we ask? Most of these toys are of the same guy. Not that I don't like my bed
Kota chuckled a bit "Yeah... Didn't realize Deku was so obsessed with All Might." Kota said while picking up the Silver Age All Might Action Figure.
Eri smiled as she looked at her latest friend. Meeting someone her age was already new to her but she was already having fun playing with toys with them... Then the thought of going to the store and choosing toys popped in her head, both worrying and exciting her.
She started shivering at the mere thought of it. She'd like to look at toys, but she'd be nervous about the people around them.
"Eri?" Kota asked, snapping her out of her train of thought "Are you ok? You looked out of it"
Eri looked a bit nervous "I... I was thinking about going out and getting toys with you... But I got nervous when I thought of all the people out there."
Kota hummed to himself for a minute "Large crowds make you nervous huh?"
Eri nodded lightly
Kota then tried thinking of a solution "Well... Maybe you could just ask Deku to hold you?"
"But I don't wanna be a burden" Eri stated
Kota sighed "You're not a burden to them Eri... I honestly think they would do anything for you"
Eri smiled a bit after realizing what he said was true. It was almost like her fears were instantly washed away "Thanks, Kota!"
Kota smirked, "No problem."
Mina suddenly burst into the room "HOMIES! WE'RE MAKIN PLANS!"
Kota was so stunned he shifted his weight away from the loud noise and slipped, landing on his side "Warn us next time!" He yelled
Mina giggled "Sorry about that. Anyway! Izu and I are gonna go on a date tomorrow!"
Eri looked confused. "A date?"
Kota also looked befuddled as he knew what this meant "They're gonna go out alone and be all lovey dovey... But what are we supposed to do?"
Mina giggled "We asked a few of the girls to come by and watch you tomorrow."
Eri immediately tensed up "W-When will you be back?"
Mina, sensing the worry in Eri's voice, immediately crouched down and hugged her "Oh sweetie... We'll try not to be gone too long, I promise we're gonna come back"
Eri gulped and held out her pinky finger "Pinky promise?"
Mina smiled at the adorable Ericorn before shaking their pinkies together "I pinky promise."
Eri took a deep breath "W-Well... Okay then... So who's gonna watch us?"
Mina chuckled "The girls said they would."
Kota blushed a bit "So I've gotta hang out with them all?"
Mina tilted her head "Do you not want to?"
Kota simply blushed "It's not that I don't want to, it's just... It's... Awkward."
Mina giggled "You seemed fine with them the other day"
Kota pouted a bit "It's just... I wanna make new friends too... But I dunno about having all girls as friends."
Mina gently pet his hatted head before saying "If you want. I can ask Krishima to come hang with you tomorrow. Maybe he'll bring Kaminari if I ask nicely hehe."
Kota tried not to look embarrassed at what he was asking for but nodded as he felt very happy at this turn of events.
Mina smirked "Alright then. I'll make some calls and see what I can do." She said before walking off.
Both children were rather happy with this, Eri gets to hang out with the other girls and Kota gets to attempt to make some guy friends. The initial happiness turned to worry once the time to depart came.
Kirishina and Kaminari were there to watch Kota while Jirou and all the girls were hanging with Eri. However, after a lot of goodbye's and hugs, the two kids bid a temporary farewell to their guardians.
As the two left, Izuku was the first to ask "Why don't we just stay with them, we really should ju-"
Mina immediately put a hand on his mouth "Izu... You're making this harder than it needs to be... I'm struggling too, ok? Let's just trust our friends."
Izuku gulped and after a moment of hesitation, nodded in agreement and decided to try and focus on the date as best he could.
Once the two made it off campus they both took a huge breath of fresh air. It'd been a long time since they were truly genuinely alone, not that they hated being around the kids or anything, just that they weren't very used to this feeling. Embracing it was a newer feeling to them.
They looked at each other and instinctively smiled as they both reached for and locked hands with one another as they began their walk to the mall's arcade. Mina was grinning from ear to ear about this. A proper date... A proper date with the green bean she loves. It felt strangely magical.
Izuku felt similarly, he'd never truly been on a date before. Sure, he'd been alone with Mina at times but he'd never been alone with her for long once they were together. Usually their time was interrupted by Bakugo, Eri, or some other weird force but... It was just them.
They walked past a few people who thought they recognized them from the sports festival but thankfully they managed to avoid them and keep marching forward. It was strange being recognized by strangers but they took it well. It was better than villains recognizing them. Thankfully, Izuku went for the marvel disguise, baseball cap, sunglasses and a coat over his normal clothes. Mina knew there was no hiding how she looked so she simply decided to wear heart shades along with her "Acid" print shirt and a pair of booty shorts with black tights on.
They fit in pretty well but Mina's pink completion was a dead giveaway. Either way, they enjoyed themselves, taking in the sights as they kept a lookout for trouble.
Thankfully, they made it to the mall's arcade just fine. However, Izuku was immediately hit in the face with a dose of unfamiliarity. Colored lights shined on arcade cabinets that reminded him of a bygone era he'd only seen in movies.
Mina took off her shades "Ahhh it's like a breath of fresh air eh Izuku?" She looked to see him frozen in place m, clearly intimidated by the unknown space before him
"Uhh... I'm not familiar with any of these..." Izuku admitted almost shamefully
Mina just laughed "Come on, you gotta know some of these? How about Pac-Man?"
Izuku shook his head "Nope. He's the yellow round guy in smash right?"
Mina immediately facepalms "Izuku... You can't be serious. You've never been to an arcade before?"
Izuku sighed "I wasn't exactly invited to one before. Plus I was more into action figures."
Mina pouted "So do I need to give you a history lesson or can we play some games."
Izuku chuckled, "I've played games before Mina. I'll be fine."
Mina brightens up "Good. I hope you grow to love these kinds of places. They're special to me. Like moments in time that never change"
Izuku was taken aback by Mina's genuine love for arcades "Wow Mina... Didn't know this place meant that much to you."
Mina winked "Well you do now! Come on! Let's play some ski ball!" She yelled as she sprinted toward the machine.
Izuku and Mina were having a blast playing air hockey, ski ball, Mario kart, it was all amazing! Izuku had no idea what to expect but he was having the time of his life! Mina could see just how happy he was whenever they finished a game.
Ordinarily, she would pester him to play Dance Dance Revolution with her, however, she was satisfied with their date so far and didn't want Izuku to be worried about embarrassing himself and whatnot.
To Izuku, this was all so surreal, the past few months have been so amazing and kinda chaotic but... He couldn't help but feel so blessed. Especially since Mina was showing off her beautiful smile most of the time. Gosh, whenever he saw her smile he just wanted to kiss her and never stop. That feeling was still rather unusual to him. That feeling also worried him though, he kept thinking one day that he'll wake up in a world where everything was like it was before... A world where he's alone… with the whole world on his shoulders…
Mina then kissed his cheek "What's up? You had a thousand yard stare there."
Izuku smiled at this "... Nothing… I'm just… I'm glad to be with you"
Mina smiled wide and hugged his arm as they walked to another game.
To Izuku… Mina was everything… and he'd do anything to protect her…
Unfortunately… he might need to protect her sooner rather than later. Not only because they were in the hero business… but because they were being watched by Himiko Toga from behind an arcade machine.
And every second that Mina and Izuku acted like a couple… was another second that Toga's blood boiled. She'd had so much ripped away from her, her home, her youth, her sanity… and now her crush was loved by another woman. Toga quickly grew restless and angry just looking at them. So much so that only one thing could help her now…
Blood.
Author : It's been a while. A long while. Too long. But ya know what… I can't apologize… I just have to move when I can. I'll be honest. This year hasn't been amazing but this past month takes the cake…
I had a moment of weakness where I was depressed and called off work and harmed myself. So work put me on an unpaid work leave. Once I got better I had to, and still am, jumping through multiple hoops to get back to work. I've had multiple car troubles, I'm basically broke so I've been donating blood and that's been messing up my body and giving me awful pains.
I'm sorry to complain but this year has been brutal so far. I try to move forward and I seem to take many steps back. I ask for your patience and prayers and as always. God bless you all, please stay safe and have a lovely Labor Day. I love you guys
