Action
[ Luffy's POV]
As we near the place Usopp and Kaya led us to there is an enclosed building big enough to hold a ship over the water beside a private dock. It has two doors big enough for a ship to pass through when they open. In front of it is a marvelous ship. It looks like it was just brought out today. It is moored to the dock in front of the building. Marry is waiting at the foot of the ramp leading onto the lower deck.
As we approached, Merry addressed us clearing his throat. (Ahem.) "Welcome as some are aware this is the ship Martin and Ceanya made for you Luffy. It was originally a copy of the going Merry a ship for them personally. However, during the time you saved them it was less than halfway through production. Some people of importance liked the going Merry and Martin decided to make a copy to sell. Ceanya convinced him to repurpose it to help you have a good ship for starting out because you had to start from scratch as you called it. They wanted a piece of her past to travel with Kaya, so they named it the Queen Merry."
As Kaya has her hand over her mouth Usopp touches her shoulder. "Your mother wanted the name to be a surprise. She said you called the Marry that as a kid because you said it was like it was made for a queen." As she kissed him and wiped her eyes Merry spoke again. "Most of it is like the Going Merry. However, the inside is different. We redid the walls for bigger joint cabins for some and got rid of some of the storage space. He said you would not need it with your pouch mister Luffy. He also went with a different gun design. Faster firing rate less punch than the Merry, but more than a normal cannon per single shot. We will get to that later though." As he gave a serious look at Luffy in a stern voice he asked. "Can you please allow me to talk about the ship to your crew before you spoil it. Martin said when you set foot on the ship you know everything about it, and I will be asked to give everyone's response to the showing to both of them."
I nodded my head, and he continued as we walked up the ramp. "Welcome to the Queen Merry a three-mast square sail Carvel 90 ft long by 25 ft wide. Merry won't make it through the New World but it should get you through Paradise." As he stopped to look back at us, I stepped down on the deck. Instantly my mouth drops open as my eyes almost popped out. Every eye was on me as I shut my mouth at Marry's glare. Usopp and Kaya were hiding their laughter as Merry continued. "Also, so it doesn't get confusing I will use Nautical terms for the orientation of the ship. If you are facing the front of the boat."
"The Bow is the front."
"The starboard is on the right side."
"The port is on the left side."
"And the stern is the rear."
Watching them nod. "This we just came on is the lower deck. It is a 25 ft by 25 ft area with two sets of stairs going up to each of the upper decks. There is a 6 ft by 6 ft cargo hatch just off the port side of the mast. leading down all the way to the hold. You have 4 levels: the bottom deck for some storage and captain quarters, a deck for crew living quarters, lower deck we are on now, and the two upper decks.
As we walked up the steps on the starboard side going to the back we stepped onto the upper rear deck and Merry pointed to the bow. "The front deck is 35 ft long by 25 ft wide at rear and a figurehead of a sheep at the bow." While looking in front of the front mast is a boat upside down in the center. It was only 8 ft long and 5 ft wide.
Marry just continued as I smiled thinking of what is under the fake boat. "The rear deck is the biggest deck 32 ft long and 25 ft wide with the rear mast and one of the helms near the front of the deck in the center." Gesturing to the steering wheel 4 ft from the front rail in the middle of the ship with a 5 ft wide boxed in railing around it open in the back with a small wooden seat mounted to the floor." Raising her hand Nami asked. "Did you say one of the helms?" Looking confused as Marry laughed hard. "Hahahaha. Yes, typically there is only one. Martin liked to feel the wind, However Ceanya told him, and I quote (If you think I am going to be sitting outside at the helm in the rain you got another thing coming mister!)". Hearing Nami, Kuina, and Kaya bust out laughing.
On the rear deck there were also three rowboats. Two small ones like the one in front at the rear corners 6 ft off the hand rales, and one in the middle off the back rail. The difference is the one in the middle was slightly bigger. As Martin walked up to one of the rear boats everyone noticed hinges where the sides met the deck. Also, a metal ridge down the center. As he flipped a latch at the rear of the dinghy it folded open and a barrel gun with a crank came out as it extended up. On a pedestal to chest height. It looks like it has a metal box on the left side. Inside the sides folded open were two more boxes on each flap like the one on the gun.
As my smile gets bigger Kuina, Nami, and Zoro look shocked. "It shoots shells which are loaded by the crank fired and dropped onto the deck for repacking ls it spins. It packs a little more than a regular cannon per shot. However, each canister contains 10 shells. It has an accurate range of 2,000 yards, rifled barrel for more penetration, and can fire if shells are reloaded by a crew at a rate of 68 rounds a minute. I know you won't be able to load it that fast. However, it contains 11 shells already loaded, and…" As he gestured to me the other two boats at the front and other side open and extend up to reveal two more that I swivel around as he keeps talking. "There is a small armory below. And I assume you can store more in your pouch thing."
Usopp chimed in immediately. "I have a large number already prepared in my workshop ready for storage, and transport here. While other cannons take time to reload all 11 shells from one gun can fire in 12 seconds or so. I also made a few special shells with foam, oil, and high explosives. The high explosives pack 3 times the punch, but they are expensive to make so I would use them sparingly."
As I closed and stored them away Zoro spoke as we were leaving the upper rear deck. "I was worried if this ship had teeth, when you said it was primarily for comfort. I am glad I was wrong." Everyone laughed as we walked towards the door under the front deck on the lower deck.
As Marry opened the door we followed through inside we found half the space divided by a wall going to the bow with a wall halfway to the front as it gets narrower. Against the outside wall are cabinets, chests, and two closets. "These are for storage. Essentials like a place for coats, shovels, spare rope, and extra sails. Through the door at the bow is Usopp's tinkering room. And to the starboard side is the infirmary and Kaya's domain. We put them beside one another so Usopp would not get careless and blow the ship up." "Hey! I resent that remark." Even as Usopp gave a strict objection he quickly changed his tone under Kaya's dreadful glare. "I mean. Ok you're right. I will shut up now." As everyone was laughing, we went towards the rear enclosed section.
Walking across the lower deck to the wall leading to the comes area. On the starboard side are the 4 ft wide stairs leading to the upper deck. Beginning 2 ft away from the stairs along the whole front wall of the commons area were windows starting 4 ft off the ground going to the ceiling. Until one foot off a 3 ft wide wooden door with a metal trim. 2 ft off the port wall.
Stepping through we see the wheel house similar to the one above. The difference being that there is a 6-inch metal column 6in in front going up through the roof, also the railing and seat are padded with a red leather cushion. 8 ft behind the wheel is a support post 1 ft round column in the center of the room. The mast is touching a wall in the back
"Ahem. The controls are similar to how they are upstairs, however there is a pin that disconnects the upstairs. Ceanya often didn't agree with how Martin drove." Earning a round of snickers. " As you can see the commons area is an open space of about 25 ft deep by 25 ft wide across the width of the ship. There are two rooms behind the commons area against the Astern wall and an open study on the port side that's 10 ft deep by 8 ft wide. A rolltop desk resides in the port corner with the part you sit at towards the front of the ship. Above the desk are two windows 3 ft wide by 3 ft tall in the corner on the rear and port wall. Next to the desk is a half bath 4 ft wide on the Astern wall and 4 ft deep. Then you have the bookshelves along the side wall of the study from the commons area to the half bath. And a small couch against the port wall"
The port side has windows going down the first 8 ft starting 2 ft from the lower deck. Then it is a solid wall until the corner.
There is a study wood table on the port side that can seat 10 people comfortably for dining.
"The center room along the rear wall is a private study. It has a drafting table couch more bookshelves." This gets a squeal out of Nami along with a. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"Along the starboard side of the ship starting at the lower deck are the stairs leading down into the living quarters. The stairs are directly under the ones leading up to the rear upper deck and actually start 4 ft into the living area. With a handrail going to the front wall so someone will not fall. There are windows on the starboard side starting 2ft after the corner going 3 ft tall and travelling 6 ft till the kitchen cabinets and counter begin. Ceanya really liked to cook so it is a kitchen complete with stove, range, and a 4ft wide, 3ft deep, and 7ft tall refrigerator that is next to the rear mast on the back wall. A 6 ft long by 3 ft wide island bar acts as a divider somewhat between the kitchen and the rest of the commons area. Above the sink are 2 freshwater tanks. one hot water and 1 cold water. The 1 hot water is heated by gas. It has a temperature picture Gauge on it. Both tanks only 20 gallons each so you have to worry about making sure they're maintained. The plumbing is basically gravity fed. In this back room we have a pantry. Inside the pantry It is 10 feet by 10' room with two 80-gallon tanks of fresh water in the corner one hot and one cold. I know that sounds like a lot for a kitchen but this isn't just for the kitchen the reason why those tanks are so big is so they can provide hot and cold water for the showers below"
"WHAT!" Nami yelled. "We have a shower? A real shower?" With her eyes sparkling like when she thinks of treasure. Clasping her hands together.
"Hahahaha. Yes, I thought you would enjoy that. Actually, there are two. The captains' quarters in the lower section have their own private bathroom. But we will get to that later."
The reserve tanks are maintained under the floorboards of the lowest deck. On the starboard wall is lined with deep cabinets from floor to ceiling, on the inside next to the study is more cabinets and a freezer. Now that you have familiarized yourself with the Commons area would you like to go downstairs and see the crew quarters?"
"There are candles in the hold and small portholes around the living quarters however for the time being I will use the interior electrical lighting. Remember the more you use the electrical the faster the battery drops."
As we walk down the 4 ft wide staircase on the starboard side of the ship, Marry started flipping switches. On the walls we come to a 6ft wide hallway going across the ship. Then another hallway going up toward the front of the ship going up the center that is about 5ft wide going to the bow of the boat. There are 2 doors, 1 on each side of the hallway and then another door at the very end.
"There are 7 crew quarters on this level of the ship 4 single, and three double. It is built like a cruise ship more than a cargo hauling vessel. The single rooms are roughly 8ft wide by 12 ft long. These rooms have two 4ft wide by 8ft long beds mounted to the end wall in a bunk bed fashion. The beds are actually a metal outside frame with a fitted net material that suspends the person like the net hammocks with a light mattress on top for comfort. Both beds can be folded up to the wall and secured to give you more room. The lower bed is 2ft off the ground and the second is 5ft 6in. One dresser going up 6 ft beside the bed to use as an end table for the top bunk. We thought about a desk, but instead went with a closet."
"If the three rooms behind me two are those kinds. The port and starboard rooms have the same bed system however the port side has a slightly different layout providing room for a small standing closet. The end room was made for miss Kaya. Yes, they knew you were planning on going early on in the design phase. Other than the captain section it is the biggest for you and Usopp. It is also almost a copy of the Going Marry's captains' quarters." Kaya's eyes water at this.
Stepping through the door into the kaya's bedroom. "In the center is the front mast, behind that a queen size bed setting 3ft off the ground with the headboard at the bow. A safe in the bow behind the picture is your parents you may want to change the picture given what you two will get up to in here. Overall, it is a room 20ft deep, 8 ft at the headboard and 25 ft at the rear wall. Going down to the starboard side starting at the bow you have two dressers, a rolltop desk, and in the corner next to the starboard side room a 4ft wide closet. There is a full-length mirror 3 ft wide on the wall near the door."
Kuina looks on curiously as she sees the same setup on the port side minus the mirror and desk replaced by a bigger closet and another dresser. "Why do they not have empty space like the Merry over here? Not that I am complaining mind you."
Looking at where Kaya was pointing. "It was for training. Martin and Ceanya were heavily into martial arts." Watching Kaya put her hand over her mouth. "They did not tell you because when you were young you hated violence Kaya. They also hate violence but know sometimes there is no choice. They were glad you now see the world like them. Otherwise, they would oppose you going with Usopp. The opposite free space as a place for training room so others would not question them or think differently of them. Like the guns upstairs hidden but ready for a fight. They hang a punching bag. The bed has a spring system in the headboard that folds it up to the bow to give an open sparing room. Under the bed are two compartments for punching bags and a spot for their gear. It was very discreet plus if anyone heard them, they would think something else other than sparring was going on in here. You can use it for extra storage." Watching Kaya turn red, remembering all the times she heard noises coming from in there.
"Moving on." Walking back out into the first hallway from the executive hallway. "The pole in the corner here is the center mast for the ship. The reason this 12 ft by 20 ft space is empty except for the stairs is because we are under the port hatch on the lower deck. There is also a 6ft by 6ft hatch right under the other one except this one has a hinge to let it fold up against the port wall. He knew you could bypass that with your pouch, but it was already installed."
As we walk down the 5ft wide hallway leading to the rear of the ship the hallway turns to the starboard side. "Of the other two single bedrooms one is on the left by the upper stairs, and the other behind the lower stairs. The two other big bedrooms are in the starboard middle hallway, and the port and stern corner next to the starboard door beside the rear mast. Both are roughly 12 ft by 12 ft. Down the port side turn is a 4ft by 5ft laundry room just big enough for the laundry machines. Besides that, is a bathroom roughly 8ft by 12ft complete with a bathtub shower, commode, and sink.
"Note this is not the captains and his lady's bathroom." As the ladies walked inside the men waited outside. "The bathroom is roughly 10 ft down the rear wall and 8 ft down the starboard wall. In the corner here we have a 4ft wide by 7ft long metal tube going down the rear wall it can seat two comfortably and has a shower curtain. "We had originally planned on going with tile but being at sea we were worried about it getting cracks, so we won't with metal. You have a shower nozzle coming down from the storage tanks above. There is a blue and red bulb above the tub to indicate if one of the tanks is down to 5 gallons. I would also advise making sure they are full and heated before getting in. I say this from personal experience it is not fun. A commode is at the end next to the bedroom wall, and a sink on the starboard wall next to the tub." Watching Kuina tear up she embraces Kaya in a big hug, and I hear Kaya scream and then the (thank you, thank you, thank you so much.) Watching everyone smile. "Now I will proceed to the cargo bay steps and give everyone a minute to look around before we go down.
After a few minutes everyone gathered at the stairs. "Now for the most interesting alterations. let's head down." As we descended the stairs. We go down the stairs on the port side or right of the boat facing the back then are on a landing. With a wall that goes across the ship continuing down the stairs to the center of the ship. We found a door to the rear end of the ship, an open area of about 20 ft square was before us to the main mast about in the center. It was clean and we could see the hatch in the deck above. "We had to keep this area open. Because of the hatch. Also, we thought we would put up a wall to make this area look better. A commons area when coming down the stairs."
"You may want to put in some bookshelves or a sofa. At the bow of the ship, we have some rooms for storage, the batteries to run the electrical, and the armory. Under some removable floorboards lining the sides of the keel of the ship are tanks that store a total of 3,000 gallons of fresh water. It can be refilled from pumping water through a filter. Also, a generator is attached to an exercise bike to generate power and work the pump if necessary for the water. The batteries are double the number of its sister ship and can last a week. Even with everything on. It has a gage to tell how much voltage it has. A pump to transport the water to fill the upper tanks next to the kitchen can be run by electrical or peddling."
Zoro snapped his fingers at this before he commented. "Hey! You can move the water with your power, and can't you use that electric shot thing from your gun for the batteries? Then we don't have to pedal." As the newcomers look confused while the rest look hopeful, I give them the bad news. "I can move the water with my power sure, no problem. However, I kind of tried to charge a battery on an island for a bar we were at. Needless to say, it overloaded and almost burned the bar down. Luckily it was on the water, so I put it out easily. Racked up a hefty repair bill though." Marry and Usopp looked shocked almost barring me from getting near the batteries. It took a full minute to calm everyone down from laughing.
"The stern section is for you and your ladies. After all it needs a special filtering system to keep the musk from the rest of the crew." As Marry opened the door beside the stairs to the stern of the ship slightly off center to the starboard side. We see a hallway of about 25 ft long. Three doors on the right side, two on the left, and one at the end. "The two on the starboard side are personal storage and part closet. The first two port side doors are for his ladies not sharing his bedroom that night roughly 10 ft by 10 ft. They have a double bed, a hanging single one above that can fold against the wall designed like the ones above, and two dressers each. Also, ventilation to the captain's bedroom can be opened to allow the musk to be shared if they wanted. This entire section from the doorway by the stars forward is on an enclosed ventilation and filtered before returning to the ship. The bathroom is like above at the end except for a bigger bathtub shower combo. It can be accessed by the hallway and the captain quarters. The captains' quarters are simple design with a queen size bed and a dresser it is roughly 12 ft by 10 ft."
As the ladies are looking around this gets a snort out of Zoro as he puts his arm over Kuina's shoulders. "If I didn't have Kuina, and know how powerful you were I would really hate you right now. However, I guess for the future pirate king I can accept it." Without missing a beat, he was pinched in the side making a grimaced face. "You better treat me right! Otherwise, I might come down here. That bed looks even more comfortable than the double ones upstairs except for Kaya's bed that is."
It took a while for everyone to stop laughing at a shocked Zoro. He only relaxed after she kissed him on the cheek and told him she was kidding, mostly. Usopp and Merry looking hopeful as Marry asked. "I know it won't make it in the new world. However, I hope it is a good starting ship for you. What do you think?" Even Kaya, looking nervous fidgeting with her hands was staring at me. "I thank you. You didn't have to, but I will accept without question. It is a much finer ship than I would ever have hoped to get before the grand line."
It took most of the morning to go to Usopp's workshop to collect everything. While I was doing this Nami went to Kaya's room and collected her things. If not for the pouch it would take several trips to transport it all for both of us. Both of us went shopping for food and toiletries next. After lunch we were waving goodbye to Marry, Bachina, Keven, Helena, and the three kids. With Nami at the helm Zoro and Kuina manning the sail I saw Kaya crying beside Usopp at the rear railing with him telling her. "We will see them again Kaya." I left the rear railing to go to Nami. "Where to captain?" I smiled as I answered. "Let's get our cook, and his sister. I want to see how strong they have become." As I was looking forward Nami was grinding her teeth out of the corner of my eye. I knew I still had work to do with her accepting Lanju. Or maybe it was just her thinking on how to install dominance. I hope that it was the second option.
"I will go to the figurehead for a bit. It is the best place I like to sit." Having voiced this allowed I go there slowly. Sitting down with nobody around I whisper. "Hello. I know you won't answer. That's ok, no other ships have ever spoken back directly either. For the most part, the bonds are stronger if developed naturally In secret with the whole crew. While my grandfather believes and told mom we take control over a ship, she and I don't agree. Here on this world ships made of wood and love have more personality. She taught me to feel what the ship says it needs from the sea and crew. Then direct the ship with our power the way it would if it had the added power to do what is needed. That is why me and mom get just as much power out of a sea vessel as Gramps. Though we are weaker than him. You are a pretty tough girl, but the grand line is no easy waters. So, I have to ask. Are you up for a challenge?"
There were no words, actions, or shifting any person or regular sailor could feel. However, to me a trimmer went through the deck only I could feel. The sail ripped and it felt like she was now trying to hold back from rushing forward with haste. "Welcome to the family Mary. I will try to keep you around, and useful. While I won't torture something once valued by bringing it back to sit as a showpiece in a museum. I will bring something from the sea back in some fashion if it wants to still be of use. A rarely used perk nobody knows about a decedent of Poseidon. Even after you think the fight is over, don't give up." I whispered the last part as Kaya walked up. "Do you always talk to yourself at sea?" Smiling, I answered her question. "Yes, old habits. Glad to be back at sea. On our new home." As I walked back towards the side steps going down to the lower deck. I turned to Kaya talking to herself at the front mast. I do believe the figurehead was smiling a bit more than it was carved originally to or maybe it was just me.
A few hours later Usopp asked me about a flag. I informed him I wanted to have a skull with a trident as one of the bones and my sword as the other. The trident head over the skull's right shoulder while over its left shoulder my sword handle up as if ready to pull out and use. As if strapped to its back.
His first attempt at an example had a huge nose tilting to the side. I believe it was a joke for Kaya with how he showed it to her first. However, it got him a punch on the top of his head from Nami. After that he changed it to what I asked for. With of course Nami standing over his shoulder the whole time. I told him for now to only make a flag. We will paint the sail only after Loguetown I didn't want to tip Arlong off too much. A flag can be taken down easily, a sail not so much.
It was a couple of hours later before supper when Usopp came up with Kaya. "Can I test the explosive rounds I would like to shoot at a rock outcropping." As I looked towards the one, he pointed at it was a little wider than the Merry, but twice as tall. I frown as I answer. "Not yet. Nami! Pull around to that rock face. I felt a boat tied off there. It would be rude to fire on them for no reason." As Nami directed the ship all hands came on deck. Rounding the rock, we find two men on deck of a small boat both men got to their feet, though one looked dead to the world. Not tired more sick, drained, bags under his eyes, and swaying a little.
"Stop right their pirates! Come any closer, and we will attack!" the healthy looking one spoke out. The fact the other one looks half dead really makes them look pitiful. Kaya was already looking ready to rush over with her bag to go help them. "Johnny, Yosaku! What are you doing here?" Zoro yelled at them. "Big brother Zoro! Where is big sister Kuina? Did they take her? We will save you. Never fear!"
In a very annoyed and angry voice Kuina exclaimed. "We were not taken you fools! He is our captain!" "What!! Big Sis why? They are pirates!" In a calmer voice she answers. "True, but that is just because he wants to be free. Also, he doesn't pillage. Luffy is a good person. Why do you look half dead Yosaku?" As if his willpower was the only thing holding him up and finding his friends not in danger Yosaku fell face first on the ground. "YOSAKU!" the second sailor exclaimed.
Kaya looked at me as I answered her unspoken question. "Go help him. They appear friendly." Lowering a ramp, she hurried to the man Usopp close at hand. After a quick examination she exclaimed. "He has scurvy. Is there anything you can do captain?" Sighing I answer. "Malnutrition I can't help with sorry." "I will get some limes that will help." Nami informed us then rushed to get some as Kaya spoke up. "I have some vitamins that should help in the long run. However, the limes will give an immediate reaction." With Nami jumping over to the small boat squeezing the limes into his mouth.
Less than a minute later he jumped up and was dancing with the other one. "We are cured! We are cured! We are cu…" The two fell to the ground as Nami smashes the two over the head with her staff. "You idiots! If we didn't come around, you would be dead! Stupid little…" The rest trailing off as she mumbled jumping back to the ship. "Can we come with you for a while? We only brought meat, and we could pay for the food with our labor. If what you say is true, we will die otherwise. Please we promise to find out how to eat properly." "It is true you idiot!!" The shocking thing about this statement is it came from Kaya, her left hand tight on her bag shaking with rage. She was wearing her belt holster and guns because Usopp told her it was necessary now at sea. Her right was on the gun on her hip unleashed strap ready to draw in a heartbeat. The hand twitching and tight with rage.
"She gets really touchy when people ignore medical advice." Usopp comments as he placed his hand on Kaya's shoulder. Kuina speaking up next shrugging. "You get used to it with them. But they are loyal, and good people." After tying their boat to the Merry we started to head away. Getting far enough away to be about the same distance as Usopp was to target before I called out to him. "So, let's see that gun in action Usopp." Everyone came to the rear deck. As Usopp worked on changing the canister Johnny and Yosaku had their jaws on the deck after one of the guns was revealed. "All set. The first shot is normal. After that the rest are explosive rounds. I only have 5 loaded in this test canister."
(Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam.) The demonstration was impressive. In less than 10 seconds all shots were fired, and he wasn't in a rush. Every shot hit its mark. The first knocked an impressive size chunk off the top. After that each explosion was like the big navel battleship Canons. Penetrating into the rock and exploding outward. By the last shot it was almost flat sticking up maybe 7 ft above the water, the rest having crumbled into the sea around it or blasted by the gun into the sea. In addition, the shells were so fast you almost couldn't see the shot fly through the air.
Johnny and Yosaku fainted on their backs. Us men had smiles while Kaya spoke up. "Boys and their toys. Am I right?" As she turned to the other girls, she was shocked. Both had looks of aww and sparkling eyes. Ignoring the two newcomers we went to go eat. Almost a half hour later they joined us for sandwiches. "Thank you for the food." "I will be expecting you to work it off. Are they trustworthy enough to take a watch shift Kuina?" "Yes. They can be serious when necessary. Though don't expect them to do more than raise the alarm." "Big sis. That hurts. You know when can…" Whatever they were going to say was silenced by a glare from her. "Ok you can help keep us on heading and take the fourth shift. Zoro third, Usopp second, and I will take first." With a bigger crew I can break up watch better in the future.
"I will get up with Zoro. You better not let him steer. We will never get there." "Hay!!" Kuina was interrupted by Zoro before we all started laughing. The rest of the day went smoothly. Jonny and Yosaku were in shock at the Marry. We didn't show them the captain's section. Just telling them to knock on the outer door. To my surprise Nami just wanted to cuddle worried about Nojiko. It was getting close to when she was usually switching who was away or checking in with her sister.
The next day before lunch we saw the Baratie in the distance as we were pulling up beside a marine ship. Personally, I was not worried I never had a flag before, so I doubted the world would think we were a big target when we heard a shout. "What do you think you are doing Coming here?!" As we looked at each other confused the Baratie was neutral ground because of the quality food. Then he continues. "With a ship like that you can actually call yourself a pirate. No cannon or weapons. You must be new I don't even recognize the flag." I smiled thinking on how if he knew who I was he would be sailing away calling for reinforcements. It was good my crew knew to keep it a secret at present, and those newcomers don't know my identity. "You are there! Hiding by the stars! I see you. Aren't you pirate hunters like you claimed? I see so it was a trick to throw us off."
"Would con men hunt big time pirates like these!" Johnny yelled as he pulled out some wanted posters. A few I actually recognize. One being Arlong another me transformed with my face and hair covered except my eyes. Nami rushed down to grab them up especially mine and Arlong. Looking at them intently. (Come on dear. You promised me a meal here not a show of your power.) I hear the girl on his arm telling him in a quiet voice. "You are lucky pirates! I captain Fullboddy am not working right now otherwise I would take you in!" My crew busted out laughing. (Shishishi / Hahahaha)
As he is walking away, I hear him whisper to his first mate. "Sink the eyesore after we leave. I don't want them interfering with my meal." Turning to Usopp and Zoro I tell them what I overheard. "They are going to attack. Use the forward gun Usopp. Don't let them know the rate of fire. Take around 25 seconds to shoot 4 shots total. Forward and rear mast. I want them limping back to base. If they sink, they will swim to the Baratie. Nami and I will protect the Marry." Nodding he ran to the bow while Nami, having returned from the helm, pulled out her staff. I got my pistol ready. Zoro and Kuina came forward as he spoke. "Sorry we haven't Learned that blade trick yet." "No worries. It took me a few years to learn it. However, my teaching started from scratch so you two should get it in a month or so."
Next thing many cannons go off. I shot 2 cannonballs, Nami got two with a wide slice, and a third I was going to let pass between our sails harmlessly. However, Zoro jumped in the air deflecting it with his sword. Watching it head Towards the Baratie I quickly shot it with my pistol. When Zoro landed Kuina slapped him upside his head. "Be more careful." As Zoro was grumbling and the marine ship was reloading Usopp fired on their ship. Halfway up the main mast was splintered, a few seconds later the same mast 4 foot off the deck was also splintered. Seven seconds later a repeat performance was done to their rear mast.
The Marines were in a panic as we calmly headed to the Baratie. As a marine dinghy was already docked. The couple walked inside. Approaching the entrance, we are arranged as couples. Me with Nami, Zoro with Kuina, Usopp with Kaya, and the brothers last. As we were waiting at the podium a short blonde woman with short hair, pirate boots up above her knees, long frilly sleeve red shirt, and black vest was seating Fullboddy and his guest. After setting the menus down she starts to turn back. I noticed her chest was massive, the button up shirt opened down to barely show her cleavage. Her face now visible had the distinct curly eyebrows. The cooking staff a year ago said she was a sight to behold I just didn't know how much. She avoided having pictures taken of her in preparation for our departure. So, I never got to see an example of what she was going to look like when I came a year ago. Just as she walked past Fullboddy him seated closer to the entrance, he reached for her butt. In doing so he pivots his chair around to face her away from the table slightly.
Pirouetting out of his reach two loud thuds are herd. He froze in shock looking down. Two throwing knives, one on each side of his manhood, are impeded in his chair. Not cutting his pants, but the flat part of the blades parallel to his legs. As other customers were snickering, she walked back swaying her hips. "You are new here. I only give one warning. I have chosen the man I want and given my heart and body to him even if he doesn't know it yet. No other man touches me got it! As for your female friend I could be persuaded for her to, visit me. I have a big apatite." As Lanju winked at the girl in his company he smiled. Leaning forward now left hand on the table to be in his face. Lanju grabs the very top hilt of the knives with her right hand. One between her pointer and thumb, the other her middle and ring finger. Rocking them forward to press on either side of his balls. Her smile was gone, a smirk on her face as she continued. "ONLY her. You will not be present. Do you understand?" Even though he has a perfect view down her cleavage his gaze is locked on her eyes. He was Nodding vigorously. Lanju rocks the blades back before pulling them out. Fullboddy exhaling dramatically turned back to his companion who was staring at Lanju leaving hunger in her eyes.
As Lanju was putting the blades back into her left sleeve a yell came out of the kitchen. As a tall blonde with the same curly eyebrows as her came out. "Hay Lanju. Stop harassing the customers. Zeff said the next time he has to clean blood out of his chair he will take it out of your paycheck. Hello gorgeous. Decided what you want? " He was wearing a suit smiling at the girl with Fullbody giving her a wink making her blush. Another cook came out of the kitchen then at the noise. He looked like a giant rugged sailor, his voice gravely as he spoke. "That is enough out of the booth of you. Lanju stop threatening the men. Sanji stops scaring the people even more that make a pass at your sister. And both of you stop stealing all the female customers!! The rest of us want a chance to!" (YEA!!) Is shouted from the kitchen.
As the newest person out of the kitchen looked at us he tilting his head spoke softly. As if talking to himself. "He looks familiar, but where. Not recently that I would remember." Lanju walking up to the counter addressing us. "I hope you won't give me the same trouble after my demonstration. I don't mind being eye candy for men, but I am waiting for the man I have chosen. However if you ladies need a special dessert, let me know." As all the girls in my party except Nami looked put out as the girl laughed. "Shishishi. Don't look that way. The saying around here goes. Don't knock it till you taste it. Let me show you all to a table."
"Interesting laugh you have there." Nami asked the short waitress or hostess leading us to a table. "I copied it from someone special. Took me a while to get it natural." As we are nearing the table we hear a yell. "I do know you! Your that kid from a year ago! The one Zeff through the big party for! What was your name again?"
"Patty. What are you saying? Zeff did not have a party last year. Except when Sanji and I… were … gone?" Slowly she turned towards me. I can understand Lanju just like Nami's confusion earlier when she first saw me. Very few of the images taken of me was when I was not in my half form or full griffin. Even then I had my face and head covered. "Luffy?" Lanju's voice was almost a whisper as I give an answer. "You are as beautiful as Zeff said you were. I would say he didn't do you justice." I was fly tackled where Nami barley dodged. Lanju was clinging to me like a monkey legs locked behind my back. "You came back. Just like you said you would." Every customer was in shock now having never seen her not even hug another male except her brother and Zeff. Pulling her face away from hugging around my neck she gets ready to give me a kiss.
(Ahem!) "Didn't you just say something to the effect of no man should touch you?" Nami spoke as Lanju looking nervous. Nami looked upset. Lanju was now talking at a an extremely fast pace like an auctioneer. "But it's Luffy. I have been training constantly for him since he left. I missed him last year, and… Oh boy. You are one of those two sisters he was speaking of aren't you?" Nami's face then turned to a smirk. "Yes, and while I am warming up to the idea of others joining. I wish to be careful on who is allowed to join. I am sure if allowed to join you would be selective on others also. Considering there is only so much Luffy to go around." Watching Lanju as she gives a return smirk to a confused Nami.
Lowering herself off of Luffy Lanju looking at Nami speaking seriously. "While I doubt enough Luffy to go around will ever be a problem. I suppose I will have to prove I am worthy. I also doubt that challenge will be harder than what my brother and I have experienced before. We never had anything to fight for except each other before meeting Luffy. Bring it on."
I could only shake my head at Nami trying to exert control. Nami will probably feel off balance without Nojiko. Her sister was always the thinker while Nami provided the heart and enthusiasm. Without them working in unison I doubt my new pride will remain in balance. All well if Nami gets to ahead of herself before then I guess I will put her straight. Until then l think I will just watch the show.
