Hello everyone. I've been on a Duck kick recently so I thought why not have a good old Duck story? I'd also like to apologize for the wait. Summer is rapping up and I've been very busy. I have huge plans for this series and I can't wait to share them with you all.

Chapter 5: Duck, Diesel, and the Trouble with Trucks

Based on No More Mr. Nice Engine by Paul Larson and Laura Beaumont and The World's Strongest Engine by Paul Larson and David Mitton

Adapted by Henryandbrunodude1234

"Achoo!" screamed Oliver.

"Ach, would ye quiet down?" Donald complained. "Ye're sneezing louder than the Loch Ness Monster!"

"I'm sorry", sniffed Oliver. "I've gotten boilerache".

"You should tell Sir Topham Hatt", Duck told his Great Western friend.

"You're probably right", Oliver sniffed and he set off to find the controller. Oliver left for the world and an engine was to visit from the mainland to help out kn the branch line.

Duck was resting peacefully when he was awoken by a loud horn. "Wake up Duck. You steam engines take so long to start that it'll be ages before your ready to get started", oiled a cold voice from behind the shed. Duck groaned.

Diesel pulled around the corner. "It's good to be back on Sodor", the troublesome diesel smirked.

"Why would Sir Topham Hatt bring you back here?" Duck asked.

Diesel chuckled. "Alas, I was the only engine available", he said mischievously.

Duck worked harder than usual ever since Diesel was there criticizing his every move. The trucks knew not to mess with Duck and Oliver ever since Oliver tore S.C. Ruffey to pieces. Diesel on the other hand was having quite a lot of trouble with the trucks.

Diesel was boasting around the docks. "I'm the world's strongest engine!" he told the trucks. "I'm stronger than Henry, Gordon , and James combined!"

The trucks had an idea. "Than arrange us in a long train and pull us", they told him. Diesel thought that would be a great idea. He arranged 50 trucks in a line and pulled to the front.

Douglas and Duck watched on from the side. They could tell what would happen. "Should we tell 'em?" Douglas asked. "Let's let us have this one", Duck told him. "Besides, Diesel needs to be taken down a couple steps".

Diesel coupled to the front of the train. The trucks applied their brakes and Diesel began to pull. But the trucks wouldn't budge.

"Grrrrr..." Diesel growled. He tugged so hard that his coupling broke and he went flying forward and into the water. Duck didn't laugh. He just slowly rolled away. Diesel was furious. He had made a fool of himself and now the truck's thought he was a joke.

Diesel wanted to send the disgrace to another engine. But he didn't know how until...

"Why does Duck get respect from the trucks but I don't?" Diesel sulked in the shed. Little did he know, someone was listening to him.

"Duck doesn't talk down to the trucks," said Donald as he pulled out from behind the shed. "And he doesn't say bad things about them".

Donald rolled away as Diesel smirked evilly.

A few days later, Diesel oiled into the shunting yard where the trucks were talking. "You would not believe what Duck said about you!" Diesel told them.

"What did he say?" the trucks asked. "That you are horrid beings and you should be destroyed!" Diesel lied.

The trucks gasped in horror. "We'll show Duck!" they shouted. "Who's he to threaten us?" Diesel's plan was going just as he expected.

The next day, Duck was pulling the trucks along the line when...

"Now!"

The trucks started to push Duck hard. "Help!" screamed Duck. But no one could help him now. He went crashing into a line of trucks with milk cartons in them. Milk went everywhere.

"Show's you for threatening us!" the trucks teased. "What do you mean threatening you?" Duck asked. The trucks told him about what Diesel said.

"Diesel tricked you!" said Duck. "I never said such horrid things about you! Sir Topham Hatt will be very upset!"

Duck was right. Sir Topham Hatt was very angry. Will Diesel ever learn his lesson? Maybe he will, but that's a story for another day.
