EVENT: SLITHERING IN CHAINS
INT. GARREG MACH – DINING HALL – NIGHT
BYLETH, CLAUDE, HILDA, and LEONIE sit at a table together, presented with a feast after a hard fight. While many in the hall are eating well, this table eat slowly talking, while watching a separate table where KRONYA, SABELINA, and LUGO sit, with ALOIS and several guards standing around them, including a guard captain with the sides of his head shaved and a long red braid.
CLAUDE
*sigh* No luck with Marianne or Manuela then, huh, Hilda?
HILDA
They weren't sure, it doesn't LOOK like it's bleeding at all, but apparently it hurts to the touch. And she's, you know, moving, so it's not THAT bad apparently.
LEONIE
I'm surprised there's not a new whole in either of them from treating her. So what's that mean, that the worst person we know is also a walking corpse?
CLAUDE
I wouldn't say that. I think there's something much more magical going on here. After all, she mentioned the spell that Solon cast required a sacrifice. Hey, you've been kind of quiet Teach, you doing okay? I know it's been a bit of a heavy evening.
BYLETH
I've been thinking...
CHOICE 1
BYLETH: I pushed it away during the battle, but I can't help but to think about Jeralt again.
LEONIE
"Letting your mind wander is a sure way to get yourself killed." He used to say that when we were training. It's good advice, but seeing her, you can't help but to think of the Captain again...
CLAUDE
I've always been of the opinion that time for reflection is good for you. Good to remind yourself of how much you cared for someone, especially after a big fight like that. Good reminder of how far you've come.
HILDA
Wait, you were asleep for, like, 5 years after the Empire swooped in. This stuff must be super fresh for you, huh Professor? If you need anyone to talk to, let me know. It's the least I can do, and I have the best recipes for pastries I've been wanting to try out.
LEONIE
Yeah, and if you ever need to keep your head busy doing other stuff, we could spar! Got more than a few tricks I'd love to get some pointers on.
BYLETH
Thank you everyone.
CHOICE 2
What was Kronya's relationship to Solon? What she said...
CLAUDE
I've had that replaying in my mind too actually. There's a lot of things to unpack with that. Given that we found Kronya, not a far stretch to think we're going to see more of those guys soon. Getting to know about what our old pal, Tomas, was up to would be a good headstart to get the jump on them eventually.
LEONIE
Jeez, we'll have to deal with more of those guys. What even ARE they?
HILDA
Well, even if you don't like it Leonie, we've got our best way to get answers for that eating a sandwich just across the way.
LEONIE
*groan* Yeah...Maybe we at least call it an interrogation to make me feel better about it?
CLAUDE
Hey, while they're here, they're under our protection, Leonie. I know it's been a hard time, but we can't have people thinking we treat anyone who walks in badly. We may have the church and the Alliance backing us up, but we're not a big player in this war yet. Bad public relations would be a nightmare to clean up.
LEONIE
*sigh* Sorry, not used to having to keep track of how to manage our "house guests" like a proper noble does. I'll keep all jokes about how we keep our totally voluntary guests to a minimum. You want me to give them a mint on their pillow while I'm at it?
CLAUDE
Haha, no mints needed, thanks. But seriously, thank you, I can't begin to imagine just how uncomfortable this is for you and 'ol Teach. I don't like being the person to say stuff like that, but right now we're fragile enough to fall apart easily if we're not careful.
END OF CHOICE 2 DIALOGUE
CLAUDE sighs and looks to BYLETH.
CLAUDE
Let's get that difficult stuff out of our heads for now though, got to make room for everything else we'll be figuring out today. What do you think, my friend? You want to see if our VIPs are ready to answer that question? I know I've got a mountain of questions I could get through.
There is a rhythmic quaking sound, made louder as the dining hall comes to a hush as the massive LUGO walks over to the table where the group are sat at.
LUGO
If you tink you're ready, Boss is ready to talk to you about some stuff.
CLAUDE
Look at that, right on schedule. Let's see if we can't get a few more pieces of this puzzle.
CLAUDE leads the way as him, BYLETH, HILDA, and LEONIE, go to the table where SABELINA and KRONYA are seated.
SABELINA
Now, I want you to know that if we're going to give you anything, I expect it to be with the full expectation of getting our dear Kronya patched up and the rest of us fed and cared for. A couple of gloves don't do so well for bandages long term, and my team were tragically low on medicine.
CLAUDE
Of course. I swear with all the resources I can expend as Duke Riegan, we here and at the Leicester Alliance will do whatever we can figure out how to fix that up. Just understand that supplies may be a bit thin at the moment considering present times.
SABELINA
(confident and then realizing all at once)
Of course of c-wait. You're the new Duke Riegan? I knew this school had important brats but the leader of the Leicester Alliance? Here?
CLAUDE
What, not up to your expectation?
SABELINA
No. Though not quite the image of Fódlan born and bred that I imagined. No complaints here though, better than the elders who order children like you once were to go to war for their petty little squabbles. I also may be revising my requests going forward.
CLAUDE
Well, there's something we may even begin to agree on. Regardless, we still have time before any deals are settled. First, while I'm sure a silver tongue such as yourself has plenty to say, my friend and I have much more interest in talking to your companion there.
As attention is called to KRONYA, she frowns. SABELINA rolls her eyes.
SABELINA
Fine, but don't expect idle chit chat, we're here to answer questions, not tell life stories. Also, it doesn't mean that she has to be nice about it. She isn't exactly fond of you all.
CLAUDE
Fine by me so long as we get some answers. Now-
CLAUDE turns to face BYLETH, smiling.
CLAUDE
At your lead then, buddy.
CHOICE 1
BYLETH: What was the spell Solon cast supposed to do?
KRONYA
The Forbidden Spell of Zahras...
KRONYA's fist tightens as she utters the words.
KRONYA
Zahras is a place spoken about among my people. A twisted place where all opportunity and chance ends. Endless paths before you yet none deliver you to anywhere but where you started. Nothing but twisted corridors leading to nothingness beneath a black sky, or something like that anyway.
LEONIE
Sounds like a fitting place for Those who Slither in the Dark would want to send people.
KRONYA lets out a shrill laugh.
KRONYA
What a crude name. We are known as Agarthans, girly. Now, as I was saying before you interrupted me. The Spell of Zahras is a spell where the life of an Agarthan is traded for sealing away someone into the realm with no hope for escape.
CLAUDE
Unless you're the Professor that is. Seems like there may be a loophole in that plan of yours.
KRONYA
It was not my plan. If I had it my way, you'd have had a knife in you in the middle of the night. But apparently Solon had other plans.
CHOICE 2
BYLETH: Why are you back? We watched you die right in front of us.
HILDA
Yeah! And why was it only just now?
KRONYA sits still for a moment, thinking how to best answer before shrugging.
KRONYA
Perhaps you vermin wouldn't understand because you're so fragile, easy to slay. However, I am not like you. I am better, superior in every aspect, not so simple to put down. But...
KRONYA frowns deeper.
KRONYA
Have no doubt. I was dead, most certainly. The spell of Zahras only works through the sacrifice of an Agarthan like me, using that life to fuel the spell. As for why I've returned, I can't say for certain. My only thought is that because you managed to cut your way out of that dark hellscape as you said, somehow, I was returned to your rotten world.
HILDA
Huh...maaaaybe we should have brought Lysithea or someone else who knows about magic before we brought something like that up. This seems complicated.
KRONYA
The logic is easy to follow, fool. The spell requires sacrifice to seal someone away. The spell was broken quickly, so I returned. Mostly anyway.
SABELINA
Oh! I can follow up! I found her four days before our little mutineer tried to cut our throats. She came out of thin air.
HILDA
Huh? Four days ago? Then why'd your hair get all long?
KRONYA
Simple. I was asleep, not dead but not awake. I assume whatever magic surrounds the spell of Zahras did not return me to proper form until after I was ready. You.
KRONYA looks directly to BYLETH.
KRONYA
I have heard of your experiences since our last clash. The worms around us say you only came back a few days ago as well after a "nap". Perhaps the spell needed someone who would bind me to this place again, which is where your consciousness was needed.
HILDA
But the Professor's hair is the same...
KRONYA
I don't pretend to understand the complexities of magic. I have much more...efficient ways to deal with my enemies.
CHOICE 3
BYLETH: So...about the hole in your chest...
KRONYA
I'm sure even low life's like you can piece it together. I was fuel for the Spell of Zahras. Solon tore out my heart, used it as the base for the spell. Thus, no heart.
HILDA
I...still feel like we're missing a few things here.
LEONIE
Yeah! There's no way that you're walking around the exact same after having your heart torn out.
KRONYA
Your tone is grating to my ears. But yes. There have been a few...complications, since I've come back to life.
BYLETH
Like what?
KRONYA
Now...
KRONYA lets out a laugh, then looks to each of the people at the table and lets out a sigh. She looks at BYLETH.
KRONYA
That is a topic I will not be sharing so openly. There are quite a few here who are not so understanding to the honor they have of having an Agarthan of my standard among them. You on the other hand...I have things I must know from you, and in exchange, I'll tell you what has changed from my experiences as well.
LEONIE
Unhelpful even now huh...We saved your life! You ought to be more thankful!
KRONYA
You're alive, aren't you? Let that show my patience girl. I won't stir trouble here if you don't make trouble with me, let that be enough. You surfacers like to build bonds with each other over time yes? Consider that one of those things for now, until one of you tries to harm me.
CLAUDE
We tend to call it trust up here. Unfortunately, we're not exactly on the best terms to start with. But, in the interest of good faith, I'll make sure everyone on my end will keep playing nice, for now anyway. If you betray that good faith, it won't end well for you.
KRONYA
A surfacer threatening me with violence? What a treat~! Not often your types let that part out. Yes, we'll do that trust thing for now. So don't test my patience. I will still only be bringing up how my condition affects me to your leader, though.
CLAUDE
Ahh, can't blame a fella for taking a shot can you? Fine by me, if I had to pick someone who should know, it'd be him/her.
CHOICE 4
BYLETH: What do Those who Slither in the Dark mean to do now that you're back?
KRONYA
So quick to label things you don't like with words like "slither", aren't you, surfacers?
CLAUDE
Alright, what should we call you then?
KRONYA
We are Agarthans, fool. You 'ought to read a history book, though I'm sure records about us were struck away, so what use is it?
LEONIE
Alright, well, fine. What do you Agarthans want anyway?
KRONYA
We strive to correct the wrongs that have been done to us, like any sensible person would do. Your people robbed my people of their future, and now that we are greater than your kind will ever be, we will take back what's ours...Except...
There is a pause as KRONYA'S excitement that she was showing begins to die down again.
KRONYA
It would appear I am no longer a part of that plan.
SABELINA
(in a protective tone)
Oooh, hush dear, we'll show those nasty surfacers what for, don't you worry.
HILDA
Huh? But aren't you one of those surfacers she keeps insulting?
SABELINA
Oh! But of course, a very beautiful one at that. I can't simply dismiss my darling friend's dreams though, can I?
LEONIE
Riiiight...
Extra Dialogue of Choice 4 is selected after Choice 3:
LEONIE
Wait, didn't she mention that friends aren't something she does?
SABELINA
And yet we've grown quite attached to each other, what can I say, nursing a poor girl back to serviceable health makes a heart grow, don't you think?
HILDA
I mean with logic like that, I don't think you're going to get very far arguing Leonie.
LEONIE
Just what I was thinking too.
END OF EXTRA DIALOGUE
CHOICE 5 (available after every other choice)
Byleth: That man who showed up when you killed Jeralt, who was he?
The dining hall seems to grow silent as this question is asked. KRONYA keeps her eyes down, not responding or looking up at all. A few moments pass as she grabs one of her arms.
SABELINA
(worried)
Umm...hahah, Kronya dear, your arm is bruising.
KRONYA
…
CLAUDE
…
HILDA
...Um, should we...?
SABELINA
Kronya. Kronya you should let go of your arm darling.
KRONYA
(now gritting her teeth)
…
LEONIE
Hey, should we talk about something else...?
KRONYA
...
SABELINA
Kronya!
In a flash, KRONYA slams her hands on the table and stands up.
KRONYA
I need to stab something. Show me your nearest practice arena.
SABELINA
Brilliant idea! Let's let out that energy.
SABELINA looks up at everyone, giving a serious nod before laughing off the situation.
SABELINA
Hahah! Yes, a brilliant idea. Um, you, pink girl, why don't we have a fun little girl's activity, and we go and find some training dummies to hit.
HILDA looks to BYLETH, then to CLAUDE, looking for permission or simply confirmation that this is a good idea. CLAUDE speaks up
CLAUDE
IIii uh, think that sounds like a great idea! Uhh, Alois?
From the wall next to the bench the group are sat on, ALOIS walks up, standing straight as he finds his place.
ALOIS
How can I help?
CLAUDE
Get a few of the pegasus knights to accompany them. Get some of our strongest ladies to go and keep them safe, would ya?
ALOIS
Understood sir.
ALOIS speaks for a moment to a helmeted guard to his side, who nods and rushes off.
HILDA
Okay! Well, let's do that then! Have a uhh, girls' night!
KRONYA
Good. Lead, I'll be behind you.
HILDA
(clearly a bit worried)
Alright! Yeeeeah, let's go theeen, haha-
By the time HILDA gets moving, a few guards in different spots of the room, all women, begin to move, while the guard ALOIS trusted to handle the assignment moves out of the dining hall to find a few more with ALOIS accompanying them.
LUGO
Is Lugo coming?
SABELINA
Oh...you stay here dear, eat your fill! You deserve a good meal.
LUGO
Oh...okay...
LUGO sits sadly, seemingly not catching the urgency in SABELINA's voice to get KRONYA somewhere else. HILDA, KRONYA, and SABELINA leave the scene.
CLAUDE
Well, guess we know what the touchy subjects are.
LEONIE
Yeah, seriously. Also, rude! I'm a girl, she could have invited me.
CLAUDE
Probably for the best that you two don't have weapons near each other any time soon.
LEONIE
That's...fair honestly. But seems like we've stumbled onto some pretty important stuff if it has someone like Kronya shaken up like that. I didn't think she could show...whatever that was.
CLAUDE
I wouldn't think so either. That DOES bring me to my next point I'd like to talk about though.
CLAUDE turns to BYLETH to address him/her
CLAUDE
It seems like whatever is going on with the Agarthans is a big deal, possibly bigger than even the war is right now. Now I'm not saying that we shouldn't focus on the war, far from it. I do think though that we need to spend more time asking questions, figuring out what Kronya knows about all of this. It could lead us to stopping whatever this threat is before it comes up. It's up to you though, I wouldn't want to do anything that would make you uncomfortable, friend. Should we encourage Kronya and that bandit woman to stay around?
LEONIE
I'll support you no matter what, but these guys are bad news. Whatever happens, we need to be careful about them.
CHOICE 1:
BYLETH: They're too dangerous. If we have them here, we're putting all of us at risk.
CLAUDE
Alright, we'll make sure they're shuffled out of here in the morning. Hey, I appreciate you for letting me know, I know it's hard to have all of this coming up out of nowhere.
BYLETH
Thank you, Claude.
In the morning, KRONYA, SABELINA, and LUGO are asked to leave the monastery. A warning is given to them, if anyone under the Crest of Flames banner sees them doing anything to try to hamper their progress, they will be considered enemies and treated as such.
CHOICE 1 END ROUTE
CHOICE 2:
BYLETH: There's a lot more going on here. We need to figure this out.
CLAUDE
I one hundred percent agree. Glad to hear it. Then that leaves us with the issue of tonight. We've got some rooms ready for them, however, I'm sure everyone would be of the opinion that it'd be best to have some guards watching over them. Let's see if we can't get together some good samaritans to volunteer some time, eh Teach?
LEONIE
If you need someone to watch over them, I can do it. No one's as dedicated to keeping them in line as me.
CLAUDE
Well, while your enthusiasm is appreciated, I think there might be a bit of conflict of interest there. No offence. What do you think, Teach, who should watch over them?
BYLETH
Hmmm...
CLAUDE
Hmmm...
LEONIE
Hmmm...
ALOIS
Hmmm...
The CLAUDE and LEONIE are surprised to see ALOIS suddenly back with them, stroking his chin as he nods.
ALOIS
Hmmm...oh! What are we thinking about?
CLAUDE
Woah! Hey there Alois. You're surprisingly light on your feet. We were trying to figure out who could watch over our guests whenever we're busy.
ALOIS
Oh! I actually have just the person if you'd hear me out!
CLAUDE
Well, by all means.
ALOIS
Well, hold on just a minute!
ALOIS turns and waves to a guard behind him. He is a tall, muscular man with red hair held back in a braid, the sides of his head shaven. He has tan skin, a short beard that goes to his chin with a bare upper lip, and a scar from his jaw up to his upper nose. He is dressed in metal armor decorated with various furs of different animals and has a large halberd on his back.
ALOIS
This is Cecil! He was an academy student a few years before you guys came along, was part of the Blue Lions house. He'd worked as a guard here in my unit before returning homeward. The second he heard about the Empire's attack he came by to help out the vanguard of the church's militia!
CECIL
A pleasure.
ALOIS
Man of few words, but man can he fight! Never met a guy as tough as him, except maybe your father Byleth! Why, I'd consider him a protégé really, Hahaha!
CLAUDE
Ah! Haven't had the chance to meet too many former Garreg Machians before. Nice to meet you, I'm Claude Von Riegan. If you've got Alois vouching for you, I'd say that's as good of a recommendation as they come, welcome to the team.
CECIL
Cecil of house Mislavv. Thank you, Duke Riegan.
CLAUDE
Hey now, in this war, we're all going to be giving our all, commoner, noble, whatever. Pretty sure me being Duke Riegan isn't gonna mean much when you're watchin' my back in battle. Just call me Claude, call it an order if it makes you more comfortable.
CECIL
(through a small smirk)
So be it, Claude. I have a long history of dealing with bandits personally, longer than most even among the elite guards. Let me watch over them while you're here, then perhaps Miss Penelli could watch them during battle.
LEONIE
Woah, now THAT'S weird. Don't go calling me Miss when you're on a first name basis with the duke. Leonie is fine.
CECIL
Very well.
ALOIS
What did I say! He was underselling himself too! Those scoundrels will be in good hands while they're here.
CLAUDE
Well, that made our jobs a little easier, eh friend? What do you think Miss Penelli, does that agreement work for you?
LEONIE
Oh, don't you start. Yeah, I guess I can be satisfied with that for now. So long as I get to check on them every few hours.
CLAUDE
I don't think that should be a problem. Cecil won't be the only man at the door, but he'll be in charge of them for now, and hopefully before long we'll know where they sit with us to decide what we do next.
ALOIS
Now, I was listening to what you were saying to them. What she was saying seems to mean that she and Solon aren't all there is! If there's more of them, then they're just as responsible for killing the Captain as she is! Why, I bet we could find her captain, we'd be able to deliver payback and beat them down til we're done!
CLAUDE
You've hit the nail on the head Alois. There's more people running things, and we're going to get to the bottom of it. Will take a bit of finesse to figure this out while the Empire is breathing down our necks. I'll see if I can send a follow up with Judith about getting forced sent out way. If Rhea is alive out there, we need to be decisive with how we handle things. Until then, I think we sit our butts down, build up our defenses the best we can, and learn as much as possible from Kronya. A few training courses could go a long way Teach. What do you say, like old times?
CHOICE 1:
BYLETH: After all this, leading a lecture seems easy.
CLAUDE
What can I say, no one gets the information across as well as you do.
LEONIE
Well yeah! He/She's been around military instructors his/her whole life! Skills like that are a one in a million thing!
CLAUDE
(in a playfully reverent voice)
Well then, my good, wise Professor, please bless us with the ability to smite whoever gets in our way.
CECIL
If it's permitted, I would be interested in seeing one of these lectures. A sharp mind is as important as a sharp axe.
BYLETH
I don't see why not.
CLAUDE
Then it's settled! Looking forward to it. Until then, I'm stuffed, how about we call it a night?
LEONIE
Agreed, can only take so much new information in without a bit of rest.
CHOICE 2:
BYLETH: Ahh...My head...so dizzy...
CLAUDE
Woah, are you...waaait a minute. You're just trying to get out of it! Hah! You could just say no you know; no one would blame you.
ALOIS
If you need someone to substitute, I'd be more than happy to lend my knowledge! I'm sure everyone could use my sultry voice to get them back into studying habits!
LEONIE
I could use a few more practical study days personally. Less lectures more practice one on one. What do you say, professor?
CLAUDE
Well, if he/she is getting tired, probably best to give them a few days off from it. Don't you worry, we know how to handle ourselves.
END OF CHOICE 2 DIALOGUE
ALOIS
Alright, well I'll get Cecil set up to watch over the two then. And uhh.
ALOIS turns to face LUGO, who has been quietly sitting and poking at a bowl of soup with his spoon.
ALOIS
I'll see if I can't find somewhere for this big guy. What do you say, you ready to get a room, pal?
LUGO
I guess...
LEONIE
Huh, I guess he's pretty sensitive. I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it. Sometimes girls just need to spend time with other girls. Though...nooot too sure why now was one of those times.
CLAUDE
I would hate to leave a fella moping around. There anything we can do to help out, buddy?
LUGO groans and frowns, scratching his jaw.
LUGO
Just a nice blanket I guess...I miss my friend...
CLAUDE
Oh yeesh, not sure if I'm qualified to be handling this one.
LEONIE
Your...friend? Do you mean the lady with the pink hair?
LUGO
No...not boss. My friend, my uhh...
LUGO traces the shape of an oval with his hands, about two feet wide and three feet tall, shape.
CLAUDE
Can't say I saw anyone matching that description while on the field. What about you teach?
CECIL
It's a shield.
LEONIE
Huh?
CLAUDE
Ahh, so the man speaks again.
CECIL
For some mercs, there are things they care about, family, friends, whatever. In his line of business, there's nothing more important than your weapon, shield, and armor. You have to keep a close eye on it.
ALOIS
Ahh, now that makes sense! Without a family, a man's connection to his things is second to none! Or, uh, woman's connections to her things for that matter.
If LUGO'S SHIELD was not picked up, it will appear in the shop to purchase for 3000 gold and this dialogue occurs.
BYLETH
I'll keep an eye out.
LUGO
*Sniff* Really? Tanks so much...I'll go to my room now...
ALOIS
Alright then, let's get you there, big guy. If you'd like, I can get you a shield to hold onto until then, how's that sound?
LUGO
It's not da same...but it'd probably help.
CECIL
Then I'll take this opportunity to begin my duties. If you'll excuse me.
CECIL nods and heads off. ALOIS, LUGO, and CECIL leave scene.
CLAUDE
What a busy evening. Sheesh. What do you say we call it in a bit early, meet back up about all this later?
LEONIE
Yeah...probably for the best. Have a good night you two!
BYLETH
Good night.
END SCENE
If LUGO'S SHIELD was picked up
BYLETH
Actually...I do have an idea
LEONIE
Huh!? Really, just off of that?
ALOIS
Now that's the expertise that only you could have!
BYLETH pulls out LUGO'S SHIELD, to which the giant man's face brightens up with a very wide smile.
LUGO
DAT'S MY FRIEND! You found him!
CLAUDE
Like a boy and his dog, who knew?
LUGO grabs the shield and holds it close to him, like one would hug someone to them.
LUGO
Tank you so much! I appreciate it! I was so worried when I lost 'em back when Tibbs was startin' all da killin'. *Sniffle*, Can...can I hug you?
CHOICE 1:
Byleth: I'm...claustrophobic. No thank you.
LUGO
D'awww, okay, tanks anyway! If you need anyting at all, call on 'ole Lugo! I can move rocks, I can swing my axe real good, I can break whatever or whoever ya need!
CLAUDE
Someone's enthusiastic. We'll see what we can do about fitting into our game plan. Sure seven feet of muscle could be a nice surprise for the soldiers of the Empire.
BYLETH
Get some rest, we'll talk later.
LUGO
Okay okay! Tanks again!
CHOICE 2:
Byleth: Why not?
(Lugo approval up!)
LUGO
Aww, yes! I give da best hugs!
LUGO walks over to BYLETH and lifts them up, squeezing him/her. There is a loud cracking sound as relief fills his/her body.
CLAUDE
That...didn't sound good.
BYLETH
I feel...
LEONIE
Wha, hey Professor, stay with us!
BYLETH
…
ALOIS
Oh geez, don't tell me...
BYLETH
Excellent.
Everyone looks on with surprise as LUGO let's out a loud laugh, setting BYLETH down.
LUGO
Da best hugs! Courtesy of knight Lugo of Lady Sabelina!
CLAUDE
Hahah, well, glad to see he didn't crush you clean in two. Should have known it'd take more than an errant hug from a giant to take you out.
END OF CHOICE 2 DIALOGUE
ALOIS
Why, he's smiling ear to ear! Come on big man, let's get you over to your room. Though...thinking about it, we may need a second bed for you just to fit. Let's call that a problem for the Alois of tomorrow! Let's get going.
CECIL
Then I'll take this opportunity to begin my duties. If you'll excuse me.
ALOIS leads LUGO out of the hall, with CECIL going in another direction. ALOIS, CECIL, and LUGO leave scene.
CLAUDE
That was a productive evening I'd say. Though, it sounds like Kronya's got a lot of attention on you Professor.
LEONIE
Yeah...I'd be worried if I was you. But if anyone can keep themselves safe from her, it's you.
CLAUDE
That's true enough. Let us know if you need anything. If you want a battalion outside of your room, you just have to ask. Not sure how well it'd work against a shape shifting, bloodthirsty assassin, but if you shout, they'll hear you immediately.
LEONIE
I can go get that set up right now if you want.
BYLETH
Thank you, but this is something I need to handle alone.
CLAUDE
Ever the stoic superhero, aren't you? Alright, but if you need anything, don't be afraid to call for us. We'll come running.
LEONIE
Geez...well we better see you first thing in the morning for practice, gonna make me mad with worry in the meantime.
CLAUDE
Well, have a good night then, stay safe out there.
BYLETH
I will, have a good night you two.
