I have to put this out there, the reason hawk managed to break the illusion in the last chapter is because that is an option for him in the game if he's a mage, even though he's a rogue in this story, his father is a blood mage, as it's revealed in the dlc Legacy, essentially the reason he managed to break the illusion is because he tapped into his latent blood magic abilities right before he slit his throat, and he manipulated the blood magic around him, to the point he broke the illusion, that and he was conscious of his surroundings to begin with.

Also if you guys give comments please, keep respectful, I'm trying to keep it true to the perfect playthrough, while adding mimir and kratos to the story.
