"So Austin, we heard you've recently recovered from cancer? We heard it was quite a big deal for you to lose your hair. Would you mind sharing the story?" The interviewer Jane questioned him.

He laughed and quickly pecked his girlfriend.

"We'll it all started when."

"Austin please.", Ally begged. He crossed his arms once again and stared right into her eyes.

"No." He stated.

"But why? It's just hair." She whined. He gasped at her words.

"Just hair? Just hair!? My hair is part of my good looks! You really think girls will want me without hair?" He asked incredulously.

"First of all, I'm the only girl you need to worry about wanting you without your hair. Second, you don't need your hair to look good, I mean have you looked in a mirror?" She joked, a smile forming on her lips. But then her smile dropped and her face saddened.

"Austin I'm sorry, I know how much you love your hair. You spent three hours styling it for our first date." She smiled sadly at the memory.

"But this is your only other option. It's either shaving your hair off or letting the medicine take it out in clumps." She stated.

He sighed, he didn't want to shave his head but he didn't want the medicine to take it out either. Stupid cancer.

He got off their bed and trudged into Ally's vanity section (A/N: imagine the salon vanity things where you sit in the chair and there's the mirror.)

He slouched into his chair, a pouting face appeared in the mirror.

She smirked walking towards her closet, grabbing her hair supplies. She brought them towards Austin, immediately getting to work.

20 minutes and a floor full of hair later, Ally was done.

"Finished." She said cheerily, spinning his chair around and removing the smock she had wrapped around him.

"What do you think?" She asked genuinely.

He was too shocked to answer, all his hair was gone. Any memories he had left of the blonde locks were on the floor.

Instinctively he reached up to touch his head, it was weirdly smooth.

Ally giggled at his reaction to his new bald head. She plopped a kiss on top of the smooth surface.

"Your scalp is really smooth, it must have been all the conditioner you used to use." She giggled.

"It's so weird." He said reaching up to touch his head again.

She giggled at his cuteness, "I'm going to make dinner, you take a shower to wash the hair off you."

He nodded in agreement and went off to the bathroom. She got down on her knees, scooping up what once had been her boyfriends treasured hair.

A single tear slipped down her face.

She knew it was stupid, I mean he had cancer for crying out loud. But while her boyfriend was in the shower she was on her knees, crying over his hair.

Was she really crying over his hair? No. She was crying because this might be one of the last things she has of her boyfriend. The doctors had told her if the cancer isn't gone in 6 weeks her boyfriend was.

She wiped her eyes and quickly got up and threw the hair away.

It had been a week since Ally had shaved his head and he had been camping out in their shared apartment.

"Austin come on, we'll just go to Sonic Boom. Nobody's gonna care if you don't have hair anymore. Your still my handsome, talented, wonderful guy." She said.

"Thanks Ally, but no I'm not leaving." He replied.

She took a deep breath before looking him right in the eyes. "Austin Monica Moon you get up right now and get ready. We're leaving in 15."

He rolled his eyes but got up anyways.

"Austin it's a hundred degrees. Do you really need to wear a hoodie and beanie?" She asked.

"Yes Ally, now excuse me I need to find my sunglasses." He replied.

She rolled her eyes playfully and he quickly grabbed his sunglasses and they made their way to Sonic Boom.

Austin and Ally had just walked into Sonic Boom when Dez greeted them at the front door.

"Hi Austin! Hi Ally!" Dez greeted them, cheerfully hugging them both.

Ally laughed at his enthusiasm but hugged him back anyways. Austin halfheartedly hugged Dez and went into the practice room to sulk.

A few moments after Austin went into the practice room Trish came out. She quickly went down the stairs and she and Trish made her way to the food court.

*at Mini's*

"So what's going on with Austin? He was all pouty and sulky when he came into the practice room. He also looked really tired." Trish questioned.

Ally sighed before explaining, "It's the cancer. The medicine is making him really tired and I had to shave his head because his hair was about to start falling out." She shrugged her shoulders as she finished.

Once Ally finished stuffing her face with some mini fries she looked back to Trish who's mouth was wide open.

Ally's eyebrows furrowed as she looked around to see what was shocking Trish. When she didn't see anything she turned back to the Latina who's mouth formed a circle.

"Trish what's wrong?" Ally asked concernedly.

"Austin has cancer!?" Trish screeched.

"Trish shh! We don't want anyone to know yet."

"I see that, how could you guys not tell me he had cancer?" Trish asked, a look of hurt, betrayal, and sympathy had formed on her face.

Now it was Ally's turn to be confused.

"What are you talking about? Austin said he told you weeks ago."

"Well obviously not. How did you find out anyways?"

"Well it all started when-"

2 months ago Austin and Ally were writing a song in their shared apartment when Austin left to use the bathroom.

Ally had been playing the piano when she heard a loud crash. Startled, she started calling Austin to help her find the source of the crash.

She grabbed the baseball bat they kept in the room and made her way downstairs in case there was a murderer or something.

"Austin, Austin are you okay?"

Nothing.

"Austin, where are you?"

Silence.

"AUSTIN!"

She screeched when she entered the bathroom, there Austin laid on the floor knocked out clean. She noticed bleeding coming from his head and quickly applied pressure as she dialed an ambulance.

The ambulance quickly arrived, ushering her boyfriend into vehicle.

Hours later a doctor finally approached Ally who had been sitting in the waiting room for hours.

"Sorry for the trouble Miss. Your boyfriend just had a fainting spell, it's part of the medicine we prescribed for the cancer.

Those words rung over and over again in her ears. Cancer? Austin had cancer? Why didn't he told her?

"Uhm Miss, are you alright?" The doctor asked, slightly nervous by the girl's shocked expression.

"Cancer? He has cancer?" She whispered. The doctor nodded.

"Yes he was diagnosed last month."

"Oh okay, can I see him?"

"Sure."

"So that's how I found out Austin and cancer." Ally finished telling her story to Trish.

"Wow that must have been scary." Trish replied.

Ally nodded, "Yeah he wasn't even going to tell me until I found out at the hospital. Explains why he hasn't told you guys yet."

Trish nodded in agreement and the girls finished their lunches.

Ally and Trish had just walked back into Sonic Boom when Ally remembered Austin had a doctors appointment in 20 minutes.

"Oh! I just remembered, Austin has a doctors appointment in 20. I'll pay you back for lunch later. Bye Trish!"

"See ya girl."

Ally bid her goodbye to Trish and trudged up the practice room where she was blasted in the face with extreme heat.

She looked around to see Dez sitting on the couch in a bathing suit, arms folded and a glare on his face.

"Dez what's going on? Why are using the heater? It's boiling in here." Ally said.

Dez turned to face her, his arms still crossed.

"Well someone," he paused to glare at Austin. "Won't tell me why he's wearing the hoodie and beanie, even though when we were 6 we promised each other no secrets!"

Dez glared at Austin again and Austin just rolled his eyes and slouched back into the couch. Ally turned her gave toward Austin, locking eyes with him and gave him a look that said, 'He's your best friend. You need to tell him.'

Which he responded with a look that said, 'I can't.'

The two continued staring at each other, exchanging looks instead of glances. If you weren't Austin or Ally you wouldn't understand but if you were their conversation would look like this.

'Austin come on you need to tell him.'

'No.'

'Tell him or I'll tell him myself.'

'You wouldn't dare.'

'Try me.'

'No, I'm not going to.'

'Alright you win.'

She put her hands up in mock surrender. He took that as a sign she was dropping the subject. He was wrong.

Ally walked over to Austin, wrapping her arms caround him. She placed a short kiss on his lips before covering them with her hand.

"Austin has cancer."

Ally quickly blurted out, she quickly placed her lips back on Austin, stopping him from adding anything to the conversation.

Austin's eyes went wide, he glanced up to his girlfriend, a look of shock and betrayal present in his hazel eyes.

After a moment of intense staring they both turned their attention back the gaping redhead.

"Excuse me?" Dez asked incredulously.

Ally nodded in confirmation and Austin shamefully turned away.

While Ally explained how cancer worked to Dez all Austin could think about was his hair. No one had seen it yet, no one except Ally, Trish, Dez, and the doctors who diagnosed him knew.

He knew he was going to have to tell everyone eventually, heck he hadn't even told his parents yet.

He wondered how everyone was going to react to his the news of his cancer and the hair loss. His hair was a main part of his looks, most of the time he was stopped in public it was because people recognized his famous blonde hair.

He was so lost in thought he didn't even notice Ally pulling him off the couch to go to the doctors. It was like his body knew what he was doing but his mind was somewhere else.

They arrived at Dr. Grant's (A/N: remember him? He's the doctor who diagnosed Austin with nodules.)

office about 15 minutes after they left Sonic Boom. They arrived 10 minutes before his appointment, much to Ally's relief.

He walked over to the waiting area as she signed in and brought the paperwork over to where he was sitting.

He held his hand out to collect the paperwork but she swatted it away and started filling it out herself.

He watched over her shoulder as she filled out his paperwork.

He didn't pay attention to what she was writing, he just glanced over it seeing a couple things like his full name and birth date.

Ally finished the paperwork and handed it in to the receptionist.

Austin and Ally talked about the new song they were working on when he was finally called.

"Austin Moon." A short, blonde nurse questioned.

The couple stood up and made their way to young nurse who guided them to their room.

"Hi I'm Catherine, Dr. Grant will be in a couple minutes. Have a seat honey." She motioned towards the patient bed which Austin reluctantly sat on as Ally sat in the guest chair.

Ally chatted with nurse as she began checking Austin's blood pressure.

She then weighed and measured Austin, quickly collecting information and made her way out.

The couple quickly thanked her and an awkward silence filled the room.

Ally knew Austin didn't want to be here, I mean who would? But she knew he was purposefully looking away from her.

"Austin." Ally called softly.

"Yeah?" He answered, still not looking at her.

"Look at me, are you okay?"

"No."

She dropped the subject and the doctor came a moment later.

Austin had finished his appointment about an hour ago and Ally had driven them back to Sonic Boom.

They were meeting Trish and Dez in the practice room, they were bringing food over.

Austin was just moping around the practice room, waiting for Dez and Trish as Ally was helping customers downstairs.

He double checked the room to make sure he was alone and then stood up and walked over to mirror.

He hesitantly reached for the black beanie covering his hairless head, not wanting to wait in the moment any longer he yanked it off.

He gasped in the mirror, he had been bald for about about a week but he was still not used to it.

He reached up to touch his scalp, still weirdly smooth.

He was still looking when he heard the door open, he swiftly placed the beanie back on and turned around to face Ally.

"Hey babe, Trish and Dez are downstairs with food. I closed up shop, come on down." She said.

He nodded and she left the room, he glanced at himself one last time before going downstairs.

"Hey Austin!" Trisha and Dez yelled simultaneously.

He waved at them and slung his legs over the counter.

Ally began dividing up the food, handing everyone their plate.

When everyone was served they all started eating. No one was talking though, the only sounds that could be heard was the rustling of utensils and the chewing of their food.

No one was looking at each other, the tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"So..." Dez broke the silence.

"So..." Trish replied.

"So..." Ally continued.

They all glanced to the boy, staring into the distance as he continued eating his sandwich.

He was staring at the glass doors intently. They had never been so interesting before.

The trio continued staring at the lost boy, they knew this was only the beginning and just tried to ignore it, oh what a mistake that was.

"So I've started the casting for CLAWS DUN DUN DUN 2: Battle Of The Claw, Trish is going to nail this movie." Dez informed Ally who was paying attention, and Austin who again, was staring into the distance.

"Oh yay! But I am NOT being your prop girl again." She gave Dez a pointed look.

He chuckled nervously, "Oh look at that, time to feed my llama!" And with that he dashed out the door.

The girls went up to the practice room to chat, leaving the former blonde alone with his thoughts.

He slipped his hand through his beanie, he couldn't get over the weird feeling.

It had been 3 weeks since he shaved his head and 2 months since he was diagnosed and he was still not used too it. If he wasn't still used to it by now imagine how long it will take his family and the fans.

Oh right... he still had to tell them.

He didn't want to tell anybody, he didn't even want Ally to know but unfortunately she found out and he knows she told Dez and Trish.

Now that Austin thought about it, Ally was planning a dinner at their house with both their parents. She must have been planning to spill the beans then.

A tear slipped down his cheek. Why him? While he loved his hair he didn't really care that it was gone. It was the cancer that bothered him.

He made it seem like he was just worried about his hair to Ally but it was so much deeper.

He didn't want the sympathy looks, the "get well soon" cards people would halfheartedly sign, he didn't want people making posts about his condition.

Austin knew he would never be normal, ever since he got famous at 15 his life was public. But he didn't want it to be that way, something so private would be shared around the world and trending.

People would make edits and hashtags about it. He would be on the front covers of magazines for months. And the worst part of it all was he could die.

Austin had stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. There was a chance he could be cured and live a long life, or he could die at 22.

He shook his head, he's had enough of these depressing thoughts lately.

It was midnight, for some reason Ally couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned in their bed for hours but was still awake.

She turned around to face Austin. He had fallen asleep hours ago, the dark circles under his eyes proving he needed it.

She traced his features softly. She lived for the feeling of his skin against hers. She doesn't know what she would do if she lost him.

She was scared, and she didn't even have cancer. But she was scared of losing him. Ally may only be 22 but she knew Austin was The One. To think in a couple months he couldn't be here...

No. She would not let herself waste his last possible months sulking over this. Austin will recover from the cancer and Ally will make sure of it or she'll die trying.

The fearsome foursome we're at Austin & Ally's shared apartment. They were eating the homemade pizza Ally had made and watching Zalien movies.

They all sat in the dark room, munching on pizza as the credits rolled. Finally Trish got up and turned the lights on.

"Guys let's pretend we're teenagers again and not boring adults, let's play Truth or Dare." She suggested.

The trio agreed and they quickly set up the sleeping backs in a circle. They all lied on their stomachs, each holding a flashlight in the dark room.

"Okay since I suggested it I'll go first, Ally truth or dare?" Trish questioned.

"Hmm... truth!" Ally responded

"Okay, who's the last person you've kissed?"

"Dez obviously."

The three's mouths dropped, they all stared at the brunette before she busted out laughing.

"I'm kidding! Austin obviously." She playfully rolled her eyes and pecked Austin on the lips to prove her statement.

"Ok my turn. Dez, truth or dare?" Ally asked.

"Dare." The ginger responded deviously.

"I dare you to... eat a bite of butter!" The brunette giggled like she had asked him to kiss someone.

Dez shrugged his shoulders, pulling a stick of room temperature butter out of his long socks. He peeled off the wrapper, taking a huge bite of the dairy stick.

"Dude... why do you have butter in your socks?" Austin asked incredulously.

"In case someone gives me a dare involving butter duh." The redhead responded sassily while doing a hair flip.

"Ok well after that weird fact, Dez pick Austin or Trish." Ally commanded.

"Hm okay, Austin truth or dare." The red head questioned.

"Dare." Austin said, devious grin on his face.

"I dare you to... remove your beanie!" He snapped his fingers as he said that.

Silence took over the room. They all knew about Austin's cancer and that he had shaved his hair but no one had actually acknowledged it to the sick boy.

They all avoided eye contact, tension so thick. Finally Trish broke the silence by slapping Dez around the back of his head.

"Trish!" Dez and Ally exclaimed in unison.

"What?" The Latina asked innocently.

Ally was about to say something when the blonde boy she loved ran out the building, tears spilling from his eyes.

"Look what you did doofus! You've upset our best friend with cancer and now he's running away! You deserve another slap." The fiery Latina scolded him.

"Well it would have never happened if someone-" He paused to glare at her. "Never suggested truth or dare. Ha in your face Trish! But I'm the one who caused this so I guess in MY face Trish!" Dez replied.

"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" Ally yelled.

The bickering duo paused, they had never seen her blow up at them like that through years of their pointless bickering.

"Listen up! The love of my life has run out of here because you two idiots and now we have no idea where he is and he could be hurt! He has freaking cancer, which might I add is getting worse by each passing day. And if we don't find him soon he could get seriously hurt and I will NEVER forgive myself for letting him run out of here! I promised myself I would stick with him this whole time and I can't lose him now! So you two are going to shut the hell up and help me find him or God forbid you two live to see tomorrow. Understand?" Ally finished her rant.

The two just nodded, frozen with shock. Ally has never yelled at them like that before and Trish very much enjoyed this new side of her friend.

"Alright let's go!" She commanded.

The three left Sonic Boom and began their Goode chase to find Austin.
