Chapter 9
Perhaps everyone remembers the Professor and Bubbles…of Powerpuff Girls fame from one of our stories. Well…they were getting ready for bed, too. The Professor sat outside, smoking one of his cigarettes, as he read one of his dissertations. "Mm, it has been quite a day, it seems". "Perhaps, it is time for bed". The Professor said to himself as he put out his cigarette, coming inside. Bubbles came inside, holding her blanket. "Hello, darling". "You're out of bed already…why is that?". The Professor asked, gently with softness. "Can you read me a story?". Bubbles asked. "Of course I can". "Which one would you like to hear?". The professor asked, kindly. "I don't know…do the one about Barney". Bubbles said. "Alright…let's see…Barney goes to the park". "Hmm…Barney loves to slide and play…hey, let's play the day away". The Professor read, yawning. It wasn't long before he laid on Bubbles bed, snoring. He snored for the longest time….just about asleep at that point. Bubbles crept out of bed, going into the Professor's room for some television, and a juice box. The evening was fine…for sleep. For bed.
Nobody wanted to leave, it's the worst part of a trip…but the next day, we packed up, and headed for home. Home was perhaps the best place for us to be. Sailor got to doing her homework, while I caught up on some paperwork. It was a nice afternoon, that was set even as we unpacked. Then Sailor and I maintained our luxurious positions on the couch…lazing the day away…watching television. Sailor was in a good place….I was in a good place…but the day was fun. It just was a lazy day for the most part. Until someone peculiar came to the door. Some of us might know him….most of us perhaps don't like him….but he made his appearance known. Le Quack, we know him as…rich, greedy, and very self centered. "C'est Le Quack". Le Quack said, as he laughed. A thick, French Accent, and a 1972 Impala outside. He was rich alright…but was he less annoying than he had been? That was the main question.
"Yes…hello, you seem to be in a fine mood". I said, flatly as Le Quack flaunted his wealth. "I am in a better mood, now that I've been traveling on my palace yacht to my winter mansion". "I've been reorganizing the menu options for my palace yacht, I don't want Essence of Coqui to be a menu option more than Baked Alaska with a wine reduction". "My staff need to…esto, get zer behinds in order, before I put burnt charcoal, and live lobsters in ze trunk of zer car". Le Quack said, laughing, as he padded, clicking around in his heeled shoes. Good golly, since when do ducks wear high heeled shoes? He might as well be Phoncible P. Bone if he's going to act like that. I hope you're familiar with the "Bone" series, dear reader.
Le Quack greeted Sailor, however. He greeted her quite sweetly. "Well, well, well…if it isn't my darling cherie amor". "You've come for your Monsieur, your delight". "Vwalla, give me a peck, if you would, Cherie". "Give your boring old Aunt and Uncle a dull surprise…we'll think of one…mm, my cherie amor". Le Quack said, affectionately, He kissed Sailor on the cheek, affectionately. "That sounds nice". Sailor said. She and Le Quack laughed….that's the worst part, he's influencing her.
"I brought my cherie something lovely from the North". "She'll very much enjoy some au deaiu perfum". "From a woman I had a special coitis with in my mansion's master bedroom". "Between her legs was where I wished to find my place….but oh, she looked magnificent in her negligee". Le Quack said, as he laughed a bit. "Could we please not talk about that here?". I said, agitated as I stuck out my tongue. "Oh, but you are forgetting, Sailor is my cherie, and she will smell beau j'adore in her fragrance". Le Quack said, sweetly. "That is a nice perfume". Sailor said.
"J'adore, I thought of you the entire time I was in France". "It just wasn't the same without you". "I kept thinking to myself…where is my Cherie?". "Where is my girl?". "And by a miracle, there she is". "I've just needed her…and voila, I've gotten her all to myself". "Le Quack is a happy Monsieur". Le Quack hugged Sailor. "I'm happy to see you, too". Sailor replied. "How have you been keeping, Mademoiselle?". "Have you been well?". Le Quack asked, sweetly with some resounding firmness in his voice. "I…I…I've been alright….kind of". Sailor said, thinking she could hide her troubles. Yet, the comedic output between them was getting old, so I just told him. "She hasn't been doing as well as you initially thought". "She's had a rough year between the death of her parents, and a tough time at the pool…she's not doing too well". I said, with some dissonance to my voice.
"Oh no…no, no, no, no…zat sounds bad". "Mademoiselle, why didn't you tell me?". Le Quack asked, gently with sympathy to his voice. "I don't know…I was going to…but I never got a chance to". Sailor replied. "Mademoiselle, do not tell me zer are secrets between us you've been keeping". Le Quack said, gently as he pinched Sailor's cheeks. "We should share with one another when one of us feels down". "Zat way one of us gets a luxurious, flambe of a meal complete with Escargot scampi, and Baguettes". "You and I in our cafe, enjoying le creme mousse, while we share our Dilemmas, it is so colloquial…but we can't have zat if we keep secrets from each other, no?". Le Quack said, sympathetically, and gently as he pinched Sailor's cheeks. "Tell me ze right answer…you know what Monsieur expects, Cherie". Le Quack encouraged, whispering. "No, we can't do anything if there is no truth". Sailor replied. "Zat ees my Mademe". "She knows so much, Voila". Le Quack boasted, affectionately, patting Sailor's cheeks. "Come with me, let me show you my new yacht, and my new private sous chef". "I have a special deluxe meal just for us I'll be preparing on my yacht, just in time for your visit". "First, let me douse you in au parfum". "You will smell exquisite". Le Quack said, sweetly, as he then kissed both of Sailor's cheeks. "Come now, Cherie". "Walk through the fragrance". Le Quack sprayed the "Parfum" around the house, encouraging Sailor to walk through the cloud of crap he just sprayed.
"My love, my cherie amor, give me a kiss from that Elle Luffeur lip". "All I wish to do is spoil you". Le Quack said, sweetly, as he did something else that was obnoxious. He kissed Sailor on the mouth, which she didn't mind. She must be nicer than I am towards a European Duck. Reader, you have to understand, it's not the French thing about Le Quack that bothers me. Although, the French are wimpy. Le Quack is a criminal. He might be rich, he might be loaded, but he did not earn his mass fortune. He got it through stealing, embezzlement, scamming, and conning. He is a narcissist, and he thinks he can get away with taking advantage, and scamming people. It is a ruse, I tell you. If you haven't seen "Courage" in a long time, he ends up setting a prison on fire. Which makes him an escaped convict.
I sighed, as I watched those two, no offense to Sailor if I'm lumping her in with Le Quack. Those two should go to France, and perform in street theater. They'd end up doing something with Gold Euros, or money of some sort.
"You smell exquisite, love". "You will be enjoyed by my fellow staff on my palace yacht". "Come now, let me show you my palace". "We'll enjoy a deluxe meal prepared by my chef, and a nice bath prepared by my butler". Le Quack said, sweetly. "Mm, yes now…give Le Quack a kiss, Mademe". "You smell so fresh as a daisy". Le Quack kissed Sailor on the mouth again, as Sailor laughed. "Edd-boy, do you mind if I borrow your Cherie for a bit?". "She'll be back in due time….but not too early as we'll be doing some finer things on our yacht". "Deux Bonnie and Clyde…that's what we'd like to be referred to as". Le Quack said, with a snooty air about him that made me mad just by looking at him. "Sure…it's fine". "She does have school though coming up….just….try to keep that in mind…or don't….your choice". I replied, flatly.
"Exquisite". "Come now, my Sailor cherie". "We don't wish to wait for peasants". Le Quack said, with his beak in the air. "No, we certainly do not". Sailor replied. They both walked out, getting into Le Quack's 1973 Impala. Sailor glanced around, as she saw the different places come up. They were driving at this point. "How are you enjoying yourself zese days?". Le Quack asked, kindly as he focused on his driving. "I'm doing well". Sailor said. "I'm kind of…I'm kind of doing different things with the Rotaract club and my school". "I'm having a nice time".
"Wonderful, darling". "Le Quack is so impressed with you". "You make im so happy". "Now, are you taking time to enjoy yourself…such as a luscious bath, and some Lindor truffles?". Le Quack asked, straightening his bow tie. "Not exactly….I kind of….I kind of feel like I'm not enjoying myself at all, recently". "It's a lot to take in, kind of". "After my parents died". Sailor said. "I understand". Le Quack said, kindly. "But I promise you, you will feel better after I spoil you, with my divine collection of chocolates, and cheese". "I promise you, love…you will be in a good place…and you will have a divine time with me".
Le Quack winked at Sailor. "I guess I perhaps will". Sailor said. Le Quack smiled a kind smile. "Yes, my darling love…we've always had a marvelous time together". "And we always will". "You are my "Petite Cherie Amor". "Mon Cherie". Le Quack said, kindly with suave cunning to his voice. "Le Enchante Me Fervous".
Le Quack played with the tips of his bowtie, as he then placed his hands back on the steering wheel. "That's another way of saying that I'm enchanting?". Sailor asked. "It indeed is". Le Quack said, kindly with cunning suave. "I am enchanted by you, Mademoiselle". "You are my love….my duchess".
Sailor nodded. "I believe in many ways I am". Sailor said. "Please, don't feel sad, my darling". "I'll spoil us, in the best way possible..zat way we both feel delighted". Le Quack said, kindly. "Where is zat smile, jou always have, zat impresses me?". "Where is my duchess….?". "I don't want to be alone, where is my baby?". Le Quack said, sweetly, in a coy manner. "I spend hours by the phone, where is my baby?". "Where is my Madame?".
Sailor couldn't help but laugh…even when Le Quack played with her cheeks. "I'm here". Sailor said. "Zer is zat smile, zer is my lover….ooh, my lover". Le Quack joked as he and Sailor laughed. "Or even, I'll be your lover….and give you some chocolate Liquor". Le Quack said, kindly, with coy fervor to his suave voice. "Alright then". Sailor said, as she and Le Quack laughed. "But in all aspects, I do love you". "I wish you well, and I want my darling to be happy". "She needs to be…because when I see her, I see beauty, and love". "You are my love…and I have always appreciated you, darling". "Give me some love, and I'll give you some of my delight". Le Quack said, gently. Sailor nodded. "Hmm, well, zis is it". "Our palace yacht…my, does it look swell". "I enjoy it so…it is one of 10 that I own, and maintain". Le Quack said, kindly. "That's nice". Sailor said. Le Quack raised both of his eyebrows, in a cartoony, cunning manner. "I love zis one because you are on it with me..and I can enjoy it with you". "I love being with my mademoiselle". "She means ze world to me…my angel". Le Quack said, gently. Le Quack gave Sailor a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you". Sailor said. Le Quack parked his car, as he and Sailor entered the yacht from the dock. "Zis one is special because I maintained it, and refurbished it in due time". "I got a loan for it last year, and it is still paid off". "I used my life savings, and got it to where it needs to be". "What a special yacht it is". "Zat is a special part of being in ze Oligarchy". Le Quack said, cockily. "But it is even more special because my angel is with me". "She loves what I love…and our relationship is so close….so wonderful". "I wish my angel could live with me, and I could adopt her…I'll be ze king, she be ze queen, we'd have a delightful time". Le Quack patted Sailor's cheeks again.
"Thank you, and it does look nice". Sailor said. "It does, and I am very thankful to have it….especially now since ze market is facing its deal of inflation". "While ze market for Oligarchs isn't touched, and does not change, zer is still some aspects of bad with it". "It can be impacted be ze market around it, and it is susceptible". "I know what to look out for, but it can still come at any point". Le Quack explained. "That's true, especially since the assets of Oligarchs are essentially frozen". Sailor said. "Zat is true in many ways". "We can have anything happen, and it is bound to change in a few years". "Good to look out for any missteps". Le Quack said, kindly.
"Come inside, and enjoy yourself, darling". "Hmm, it seems your milk has run out". "Don't worry now…Le Quack has something far more enjoyable that will help you nutritionally, and physically". Le Quack said, gently. "Come to my kitchen, and we will refill your little cup…your pinkie cup". "I have something….hmm, my fridge has something with chocolate, and cherry zat will quench your thirst". Le Quack looked in his fridge, finding Oat Milk with some Hershey's chocolate syrup.
"Chocolate syrup, zat will make your taste buds zank you". "You will feel so refreshed, and cool…just if you wish for something sweet". "And some cherry filling within the chocolate…for us to drink". Le Quack said, gently. "Thank you….but wait…are you sure I'm allowed?". "My Aunt usually says no to chocolate syrup in Oat Milk….she says sugar is bad on a school night". Sailor said. "Well, when you're with me, there are no rules". "You can have whatever you like, darling". "I love spoiling my best friend". Le Quack said, cunningly with kindness. "No rules sounds good". "And I also like the idea of chocolate syrup". Sailor said. "Have what you wish…and I'll do ze same". Le Quack said, kindly. "Mm, well look at zis….I have some chocolate Oat Milk here as well…hmm, perhaps we should toast, clink to a wonderful day". "To my best friend, and queen, lover as we make our journey to ze ozer coast". Le Quack said, gently as he toasted with Sailor.
"Thank you…I enjoyed that, too". Sailor said. "I enjoyed it most". Le Quack said, sweetly as he winked at Sailor. "My angel, you have some chocolate on your face already". "Oo, let's wipe zat off, yes". Le Quack giggled, as he wiped Sailor's cheeks, kissing both of them.
"Now zat we do have our Oat milk…say, what are ze benefits of Oat Milk?". "Does Oat Milk help you live longer…?". "What do we know about Oat Milk?". Le Quack asked, kindly. "Oat Milk kind of helps me to stay calm…I guess it helps me not have nightmares or something". "It helps me kind of….sleep better, too". Sailor said. "Mm, so it helps Grieving children". "Sometimes, zat is what we need….is a little bit of medicine". "A spoonful of love, a dash of kisses, a sprig of friendship, and a cup of Oat Milk helps ze medicine go down". Le Quack said, gently. "So, now zat we do have our Oat Milk, what would you say to laying down a bit, and sleeping for ze remainder of ze time?". "I am exhausted, and you must be tired too". "I have a fireplace by my flatscreen television, and my remote controlled loveseat". Le Quack giggled, as he smiled a cunning smile, raising those cartoony eyebrows again.
"What's a flatscreen television?". Sailor planned on asking. "Come with me, and I'll show you what exactly it is". Le Quack said, gently. Le Quack and Sailor went into the "living room", portion of the yacht, which was decorated with a chandelier, as well as an ice sculpture, and a hot tub in the corner. This is one of the reasons I don't particularly care for Le Quack. He is a spoiled, rich narcissist, that only cares for himself. All of the oligarchs pretty much do.
Le Quack showed Sailor the flatscreen T.V. he had. "Zis, is my baby darling here". "Zis cost 5 billion dollars, but I spent it on zis television…picture in picture". "Enjoy ze picture, and ze view…I do on days where I feel lazy, and don't wish to move around". "It can be yours as a Christmas gift….I ordered it from Japan…a highly isolated part of ze planet". "Hmm, zats what I'll do….give you a television with a flat screen for your Christmas gift". "Your Aunt and Uncle don't need to know…and zey don't need to ask questions". "Oof, adults can be so boring". Le Quack said, kindly as he winked at Sailor. "Say, is your Aunt widowed yet?". "If so, I'd like to marry her, and convince her to buy us everything". "No one needs to know our escapades".
"...ok then". Sailor replied, as she looked at Le Quack. She smiled and laughed. "My darling, let's watch zee television, and see some Noir, and mystery films". "Ooo, I love Noir, as well as Ballet". "Ballet is my favorite zing to watch". Le Quack said, kindly as he turned on his flatscreen. On T.V. there was Ballet, and a French Noir film that dated back to 1940. Sailor watched, as Le Quack brought some dark chocolate, lemon filled truffles over, and caviar crackers over for them to share. "Hmm, it seems ze man is in some hot water now". "What do you zink he'll do?". "Look at im, with his suit, and his pocketbook, and his specs, he zinks he's ze king of ze world". "I don't know about zat". Le Quack said, kindly.
"Why is it black and white?". "Is that what kind of films they made back then?". Sailor asked. "Zat is ze style of films zey made back zen". "Black and white films were popular back zen". "When I was growing up, everything was black and white". "Everything was black and white, and everyone was in zer zoot suits, and had ze rotary phones, and ze typewriters…nothing was instant like it is now". "Zings have changed, my friends". Le Quack said, kindly. "But now, everything is zer when you need it, Sacre Bleu!". "We have made it far ahead, my friends". Le Quack smiled as he looked up at the television. "Everything is there…it is nice". Sailor said. "I don't know what I'd do without television or internet". "But it is what it is".
"Me neither, it's how I do ze majority of my P&Ls for my business". "I wish zer was some easier way to do it, but zer isn't, and zats ok". "I do what I have to". Le Quack said. "So do I". Sailor said. "Well, ze business is going well". "I don't have any more finances to take care of because everything is paid off". "No need to look at zat". Le Quack said, kindly. "In other words, I am free as a bee, and I don't have to do anything". "Not a zing".
"That's nice". "Business has been good for me, too". Sailor said. "I just kind of…I just kind of did my homework, I'm in Rotaract club, and choir, I'm doing alright". "School has been nice….I actually got all A's this semester".
"Zat is nice, darling". "You make me so proud by zat". "You are so petite, and cute as a button". "Le Quack loves you so much". "Now…let im spoil you by giving you a peck on both cheeks, and ze mouth". Le Quack said, kindly with softness. Le Quack kissed Sailor on the mouth, as she laughed. He kissed both of her cheeks as well. Ok…maybe now the European thing is starting to bug me a bit. "Hmm, snuggle up with zis". "It is a blanket I bought with the money I made". "It is my own expenditure to have some pocket change". "A silk blanket, with some finely woven satin made in China by ze silkworm". Le Quack said, kindly. Le Quack put a blanket over Sailor as she began closing her eyes. "Love you, dollop". Le Quack said, kindly. "I love you, too". Sailor said, faintly as she napped. "My lips are like sugar, and zis candy has you sprung". "Perhaps you should call me your sugar, and….oh yes, I love you, too". Le Quack said, gently. Sailor was already curled up, and asleep, as Le Quack massaged her back. He massaged it, rubbing her shoulders as well. Le Quack felt in place, as he massaged Sailor. She hadn't noticed much, as she was asleep by that time. Still, she had fun with Le Quack.
