A Shadow's Debut
Muscular, a villain that first made his debut during a bank robbery distracting the Heroes during the heist, the heist failed but he got away. There were many similar cases with Muscular appearing as a bodyguard for dangerous villains but recently, his motivations have changed.
Now he brutally kills people indiscriminately, he kills heroes, civilians and even some villains, all proclaiming his wish to see their blood. Now the Hero Duo, Water Hose, are his next victims. Even when their quirks combined managed to push the villain back and cut his muscle fibers, it wasn't deep enough to have any effect on him.
"Not bad, not many people could actually cut my muscle fibers! But you will have to do better than that!" Muscular roars.
"Quickly, we'll hold him off, run as far as you can!" The husband, Izumi Minato yells at the civilians.
"GO!" The wife, Izumi Mizu, yells snapping the civilians out of their stupor, they quickly dispersed.
Muscular leaps over the stream of high pressure water, intending to slam on top of the couple. They leap away and the villain lands on the street. Fragments of concrete hit Minato's mask, knocking it off his head. He stumbles, a small stream of blood flows over his eye.
"Minato!" Mizu yells.
"I'm fine!" Minato yells, wiping away the blood.
"Good!" Muscular yells, leaping forward in nearly an instant. Minato gasps, raising his arms to block, but it was a flimsy defense against the strength enhanced villain.
The hero's arms snapped like twigs against Muscular's blow. He tried to scream but all the air in his lungs was knocked out from the hit. Muscular launched him a few meters into a brick wall.
"NO!" Mizu screams, she stares at her husband, fearing for the worst. Minato breathes and immediately coughs out blood. She gasps seeing him alive but for how long? The villain slowly turned with a sick grin, and she saw red.
"Now for you-GAHH!" A thin and powerful stream of water blasts Muscular's eye. He raises his arms out of instinct from the pain and turns away.
"SHIT!" He yells, blinking, he closes his undamaged eye and sees nothing. Muscular frowns but then sighs in acceptance to the loss of his eye he raises his arms and faces the Heroine.
Mizu screams in rage, putting all she has into the blast but Muscular's arms block the attack, he runs through the stream of water.
"Mizu, snap out of it, run!" Minato yells. The Heroine snaps out of her rage, realizing how close the villain was. She leaps back but the villain's hand grabs her leg and crushes it.
The woman screams, Muscular grins, he raises her up and slams her onto the ground and throws her to the side.
"Mizu!" Minato yells, running to his wife, ignoring the protests of his broken arms he clumsily leaps to her, cushioning her fall. He hisses as his wife's body lays on top of his body. "Mizu, wake up!" He yells.
"Take pride heroes, no one has ever removed my eye… I wish I had more time but I can't slaughter more people while in Tartarus." Muscular grins, the blood on his face makes his expression look even more sadistic. He slowly stomps towards the duo. Minato uses his teeth to grab Mizu's collar, he struggles to stand up with his wife but falls, completely exhausted.
"Papa, Mama, will I see you again later?"
Kota's voice echoes within Minato's mind. Tears streamed out of his eyes. He and Mizu are going to die… He won't see his son graduate, fall in love, and get a successful job, maybe even him and Mizu and become the Hero Trio… He's only three years old, even if Shino and her team takes care of him, no child deserves to grow up without his parents…
"I'm sorry Kota…" Minato mutters as the villain slowly raises his fist, intending to finish them off. He closes his eyes, accepting his fate.
"Show me your BLOOD!" The bloodthirsty villain yells slamming both fists on the couple.
"…"
"Eh, what the hell?" Muscular grunts.
Minato opens his eyes to see the back of an black and blue armored man blocking the villain with a round shield on his arm. The man had average height but despite the size difference, he pushed Muscular back, and knocked aside his arms. Blue and somehow black flames erupted behind his back, pushing him to slam the shield first into Muscular's stomach.
Muscular yells from the hit, his feet carve through the street, until he finally stops and falls on his back. He clenches his stomach and his mouth from the pain. He leans up to see his opponent.
A Samurai stood in his way, the Villain immediately thought it was Yoroi Musha, one of the top Ten Heroes 'But this Hero nearly made me vomit! No way that old man could be strong enough to do that.' This samurai's body was weird, like fire. Its colors vary but instead of red it was black and blue.
"Who the hell are you?" Muscular says slowly standing up.
"Someone here to stop you." The strange hero answers and turns towards Minato. "Stay alive, I will take care of this."
"A-alright…" Minato nods, trying to comprehend what he saw. How did he push back the villain's attack?
Muscular grins "Heh" he grunts getting the Hero's attention. "What a wicked looking quirk and an intimidating mask, those water shooters blasted my mask away, I think I'll take yours when I turn you into red paste" The Samurai's shield on his arm retracts, and he unhooks the katana on his hip, holding it by the sheathe. The Villain smiles even wider, confident that the blade would do little damage.
"Let's see if your body will bleed red, or BLUE!" He roars charging with all of his muscle fibers, intending to crush the Hero in one blow.
Only to see clouds and why was his vision getting darker?
'WHAT?! The damn hero knocked me out! I didn't even see the little guy move, how did he slip past my muscle fibers? Damn it, my rampage can't end here!' Muscular leaning back up fighting to stay conscious. Only to see a black boot strike him hard in the face, knocking him out for good.
Incredible
Was Minato's first thought when seeing the Samurai-like Hero interrupt the Killer's attack. Muscular was infamously known for having twelve hero kill streak, but this new Pro Hero knocked him out in a few blows, only one Hero was known for feat and that Hero is not here.
He looks up seeing the katana flinging in the air, Minato gasps 'I didn't see him remove the sword!' He raises his sheath and the blade lands into it with a satisfying click, locking the blade in place. The Hero's body then transitioned from black and cerulean to normal, Minato notices that his armor's color palette reminds him of the Samurai Pro Hero but with some variations.
The Hero appears by Water Hose. "What injuries can you identify?" he asks.
"I know that both my arms are broken, my wife's right leg too, there might be more parts broken but with all this pain, I can't tell exactly." Minato sighs.
The Hero nods "I will straighten your limbs, the Paramedics will be here soon to check the injuries, bite into this." He places some cloth into Minato's mouth, he then pulls out some wood "On three." He says before immediately straightening Minato's limb
"Urgh!" Minato grunts.
"Do not worry, you will make it, be relieved in your survival and success." The Hero says. Causing Minato to sigh in relief. Knowing the injured man is relaxed, the Hero doesn't hesitate to straighten his other limb.
"P-please..." Minato requests looking at his unconscious wife with concern.
The masked hero nods at the request and checks her pulse. "She will live and help has arrived." He says pointing at the ambulance parked nearby.
Minato turns to see the paramedics move to treat his wife. "Thank you, what may I call you- Huh?" He turns his head to find the Hero gone.
"Kota-kun, slow down!" Shino Sosaki, also known as the Pro-Hero, Mandalay, yells struggling to navigate the cramped hallway to follow the child.
Izumi Kota ignores her words, too worried about his parents. He runs through the halls, squeezing past the people and objects. They saw the news and the reporter said the Water Hose duo were in critical condition.
Before Kota could ask, Shino already started the car and they went off as fast as they could to see them.
Kota sees the room number that the woman at the desk said his parents were, he grabs the door with two hands and slams it open. To find his parents wrapped in bandages and frowning but they were alive.
"MOM! DAD!" Kota yells running to his parents.
"Kota?!" Minato and Mizu cry out in surprise.
"Woah kid!" A nurse says grabbing Kota before the child could leap. "Careful, you might hurt your parents if you jump on them."
Kota sniffs "O-okay, I'll be c-careful." He nods as the nurse puts him down and he walks to his parents slowly. He stares at Minato's arms, both of which were completely covered in casts.
"Here sweetie, you can hold my hand." Mizu offers. Kota nods and holds his mom's hands.
"I-I thought you and Papa were…"
Mizu comforts her child "Shhh… Don't worry, we are here…"
"What are you doing here?" Minato asks.
Shino walks in the room "We saw the news and the reporter was saying that you both were in critical condition."
Minato scoffs "Damn news reporter making my son stressed out…"
Shino frowns "To be fair, they said you two were up against Muscular. It's a miracle that you didn't have any severe injuries. A good thing that Samurai arrived and saved your lives."
"Samurai?" Mizu asks.
Minato nods "Yes, a hero wearing armor like a samurai appeared, he saved our lives stopping Muscular."
"What is his name?"
"Don't know, for some reason he left when the Paramedics came, it's possible that he is an apprentice of Yoroi Musha though." Minato ponders.
"Actually…" Tsukauchi Naomasa, a detective, walks in "The Samurai is a Vigilante."
"What?"
Naomasa nods "Yes, we asked Yoroi Musha if he knew anyone with this appearance but he said no." He says
"Can you show me a photo?" Mizu asks, curious about the person who saved them. The Detective nods, handing her the photo.
Mizu observes the photo. "For a Vigilante, he is rather well equipped. No wonder why Minato was so surprised to hear he is a Vigilante."
Comparing Vigilante's suit to Yoroi Musha. The veteran is heavily armored but this Vigilante has very little. Where Yoroi's armor matches the traditional look, this man's armor was more sleek and compact. Instead of a helmet, the hero had a conical hat and a white mask hiding any facial traits. In one of the photos of the mask, the eye holes were glowing with blue light.
Kota leans over to look, his eyes sparkle "He looks so cool."
"He looked like a Pro out there, taking on Muscular quickly and efficiently, and checking on our injuries right after that." Minato compliments.
"Many people are surprised when the reporters are saying that the Ronin is a Vigilante." Naomasa says, taking a seat and sighs, turning on the TV. Showing a reporter speaking and an image of the Vigilante. "Since no other Hero arrived, and there were too many people recording the fight, we can't cover this up. Or come up with an alibi about the Ronin."
"Why is he called the Ronin?"
"It's fitting since he looks like a Samurai but has nothing to do with Yoroi Musha and he is a Vigilante afterall." Naomasa answers
"There are mixed feelings about a Vigilante saving a few Pro Heroes and taking on a dangerous Villain. Some are calling for his arrest, but there are some admiring his feat. Which is not good."
Shino nods with a frown. "That is concerning."
Kota frowns "Why is everyone saying it like it's a bad thing?" He points at his parents. "Ronin saved Mama and Papa, and took down that bad guy, why are people treating him like a villain?" He asks, pointing at the news on the TV who is calling for his arrest.
"Because, people that are not experienced like the Ronin might hurt themselves and other people trying to be a Hero. It's reckless." Shino answers.
Kota shakes his head "I don't get it."
"Kota… Do you think you could be a hero and fight big bad guys like Muscular?" Mizu asks.
The boy pales "No…" He shakes his head "Well, not yet, maybe until I'm older."
Mizu giggles and rubs Kota's head. "Which is why it's sort of a bad thing, more people might try to imitate the Ronin and get themselves hurt."
Kota looks at the TV, showing a clip of the Ronin blocking Muscular's attack. "But it's still wrong to treat him like a Villain after he saved you and Papa…"
Minato and Mizu grin at Kota, feeling a little proud for Kota to recognize their Savior's feats at its core. He yawns.
Mizu turns to her cousin "Shino-san, please take Kota to rest somewhere nearby."
Shino nods "Alright." She grabs Kota's shoulder "Come on Kota, your mama and papa need to rest, including you."
"W-wait…" Kota says facing his parents. "Will I see you again?"
Minato and Mizu smile and nod "Yes, you will." Kota smiles.
Tsukauchi Naomasa frowns. The most recent report stated that Ronin came up blank in the system. Usually Vigilantes seen with their quirks are found when checking the data of all civilians but no one with similar quirks matched the Ronin's build. This could only mean a few things, none are good but even that is confusing.
He could be someone from deep underground, where many terrible villains and criminals hide but why would he save those heroes? Minato confirmed that he is no amateur at Hero work but if so, why is he Vigilante rather than Pro Hero? Someone with that power and skill would have attended a Hero School and easily reached the top rankings as a Pro.
Ronin doesn't seem like the attention seeking type since he left the moment the paramedics and the pesky news reporters arrived. His sister, Makoto, commented that Ronin seems to portray the Heroes of the early age before it became an actual career.
"It's almost like he came out of nowhere…"
An orange haired man sneeze.
"Do you have a cold?" A woman with the same-colored hair asks, holding up a box of tissues. "Do you need tissues?"
The young man shakes his head "No, I'm alright, thank you May."
"May?" The woman scoffs, she rolls her bright green eyes "How many times do I have to tell you… Call me Mom or Mother if you still want to be formal."
"B-but I'm not-"
"Up up up!" May interrupts placing her finger on the man's mouth. "No, you may come from a different reality than the one I was in, you may be different from the child I gave birth to, it does not change the fact that you are a descendant of me and your father. You are just as precious." She says cupping the man's face, staring directly into his eyes.
The young man sighs, he turns his dark brown eyes away before realigning his sight to May.
"Alright… M-mother…"
May smiles and hugs her son, rubbing his head. "There we go! Was that so hard?" She says. The son sighs rolling his eyes.
"Just give me the identification card."
"Hai hai~" May teases handing the young man a plastic card with his photo.
The young man reads the name and frowns "We're going with this name?"
"Yep~ no time to mope!" May says pushing her son out of the room. "You're going to be late on your first day in school!"
"May-"
"I told you to call me mother.'
The man ignores her, stopping. "Are you certain about this being my given name? Do I really deserve it after what you just lost?"
"Wouldn't I bring shame to it?"
May's smile weakens but then it regains strength, she smiles brightly at her son. "I couldn't think of a more fitting and well earned name than this one." Her son spent most of his life without a given name, most people only referred to him as 'The Shadow's Descendant' or any other title, but not a name to identify himself. There were many attempts but none seemed to click to her son, hopefully this name will.
She grasps the young man's shoulders "Shadow would be proud for you to have it. So don't worry, and enjoy the life that was once stolen from you…"
The mother pushes her son towards the door "Now go before you're late!"
The young man pauses, staring at the card, he turns and smiles "I'm off!... Mom" He remarks running through the door.
May smiles as she closes the door. She puts her hand in her pocket and pulls out a red worn out bandana.
"If only you were here too..."
Todoroki Fuyumi sighs, looking at her phone. 'Shoto and Father had another fight. What should I do now?' Shoto for all these years still refuses to use his fireside. He's gotten more resistant and better at controlling his ice but there's only so much he can do before he could get frostbite. Father may have tried to bring it up but the moment he referred to Shoto's quirk as wasting his gift to his son, that was when the argument became heated.
When she tried to warn him about frostbite, he just shrugged it off. Just like Nii-chan did…
Fuyumi sighs again, rubbing her eyes. She misses her friends, since her father is the Number 2 Hero, it only got her unwanted attention from people looking for favors from the 'Daughter of Endeavor'. She gained some genuine friends but attention seekers harassed them and then they sort of became distant.
Sure they occasionally call, meet up and hang out but sometimes she wished she could sit down and enjoy a casual conversation more frequently without the worry of news reporters seeking attention. Fortunately none of her current classmates bothered her about her father and were respectful.
"Hey, did you hear about that vigilante that saved Water Hose from that Villain, Muscular?"
"The Ronin? Ya I did, he looks soooo cool! Knocking that villain out in a few blows and helping those Heroes."
"But he's a criminal, using his quirk illegally. He's no better than a villain."
"Chill out, afterall he used his quirk to save those heroes, they probably would have died if he didn't intervene. Besides criminal or not, you cannot deny how badass the Ronin looks."
Fuyumi raises her eyebrow at her classmates gossiping. She does recall the news mentioning a vigilante recently. Her father did mutter something about some fool who thinks he is a Hero.
"Attention everyone!" The teacher announces, gaining Fuyumi's attention from her troubles.
"As you all heard, we are having a new student here today."
Fuyumi's eyes widened. "Sensei did mention a foreign student joining this school about a week ago, seems a little late in the curriculum though."
"Let's give him a warm welcome." Sensei says and turns to one of the doors to the hallway. "You may come in!"
The doors open, a young man with orange hair and dark brown eyes walks in. Wearing a plain black shirt and green bomber jacket, strange, for a foreign student he certainly looks Japanese. He smiles but Fuyumi could tell he was nervous, which makes sense since he is a new student in a school in a different country.
"Go ahead and introduce yourself."
The orange haired man nods and speaks in surprisingly fluent Japanese.
"Hello, my name is Ka, oh I mean Akatsuki K…" He pauses and sighs "Let me try again." He takes a breath, bows and leans back up facing the class.
"My name is Akatsuki Kage."
After spending almost, a week in this world, Akatsuki May, through this incredible technology called the internet, has confirmed some interesting things.
The powers called quirks are strange, its origin is unknown even to this day, there were theories but none were concrete, at first, May and her son, Kage, thought they ended up in world where Shadow Energy transformed the first 'Quirk' but that theory was incorrect as Shadow Energy here is practically nonexistent. They have found no connection between Shadow energy and the strange powers people here are gifted with.
The only shadow energy they know of is the one they have, and considering its potential to destroy a world, they are damned to let anyone else take this power. Especially after… May shakes her head. They had to be careful on how they use its power. Fortunately, both are quite masterful at controlling it.
That's another fact that baffled May and Kage, they are in a completely different world, not some alternate version of their home, no, it is a completely different world that has nothing to do with Shadow Energy. No mentions of this gate or a man named Shadow fighting demons.
Despite the losses they experienced, May notes that this does provide some opportunities for her and her son. To make up for what they lost. Kage has no memories of his childhood, and the only memories he created after his amnesia was him fighting, fighting, again and again. Constantly, so much that it was like the whole world was out to get him.
This different world provides him a chance to live a normal life, he could join a school, learn, have friends, enjoy activities without a care…
Okay sort of, since recently he couldn't help but intervene when two people were about to be killed by some bloodthirsty maniac. Despite the risk of the authorities and their strict no 'quirk' without a license law.
Upon looking at Kage's eyes, May knew in her heart that Kage is too much like her and his father, to ignore the pleas for help. Despite the dangers he might experience, May couldn't help but feel proud. No wonder why Mnemos referred to him as 'The Hero'.
It's a shame that Kage wasn't de-aged, he could have attended a Hero School and have more time to enjoy being a kid. Plus Kage could have avoided the hassle of being a Vigilante in a world like this and… She misses her child being little, he was soo cute…
This world has also given May a second chance to have happiness with what remains of her family.
Together with Kage, they can figure out how to live on and find their place in this new strange world.
Thank you for reading this rare crossover fanfic. Ya, sorry to disappoint my Followers, I got burned out from The Gun Hero's Arrival, so I decided to expand my horizon and try to do a different fandom. A crossover between the mobile game, Shadow Fight 3 and the Anime, My Hero Academia. I wanted to do this for a while but was uncertain how I would go about it, until now anyway.
For Shadow Fight 3 fans, Kage and May came from after the Epilogue, sorry for spoiling but it's been a year and well the details of the game's story is easily forgotten. They ended up 2 years before Episode 1 of MHA began. Also, for those who played the game I hope you know what moves Kage pulled off against Muscular ;D
It would be pretty boring in a typical crossover, if Kage just attended UA like a normal student with the main cast, replacing Mineta. I'm not creative enough to pull off something like Zaru's story with Spider-Man and create subtle changes that result in massive divergences in the canon timeline in MHA. Though I might make omakes or something about Kage being de-aged to a 15-year-old and kicking ass in UA.
This will be a simple story of the Shadow's Descendant, Kage, and his mother, May affecting people's lives in the My Hero Academia world and having a positive effect. Either as a Vigilante, a concerned civilian or a mentor but one thing is for certain, they will be the Heroes that some people will need. Not like the Pro Heroes.
