September 29, 2:40 a.m. - RPD West Gate

(It was a cold rainy day in Raccoon city, a bustling yet small Metropolis soon fated to meet a grim end along with the countless lives within the town. But during the chaos of Leon's encounter with a certain Tyrant, as Clair faces down a mad scientist to protect the very child of said monster, as Jill struggles against a new kind of Nemesis…there is another player involved, a mysterious stranger with seemingly no connection to this town nor the people in it, one that is on a mission for a third party virtually no one knows about.

Heavy footsteps trudge over the wet concrete, nice and slick thanks to the pouring rain, but what many would assume to be a familiar foe wearing a thick green trench coat, was actually the very same stranger we will follow throughout this story. He was big and wore a disturbingly identical fashion to the perfect Tyrant models Umbrella crafted used, but unlike them, he wore a black face mask that concealed his mouth and nose, along with a pair of sunglasses that were far more intricate and advanced than many would be fooled into believing, and his slicked back dark brown hair was soaked thanks to the rain. He was going through the town, seeking something and being impeded by a familiar site at an earlier time, upon looking at the building, he used the radio device in his ear and informed his bosses of his latest obstacle.)

"Control, I've reached the Police Station, I'm gonna have to cut through to make it to my waypoint."

"Acknowledge, don't take too long."

(He wasted no time, sauntering through the rain as he reached the grassy front location right by the entrance, now turned into a makeshift graveyard that was half completed as the bodies either left the ditches they were placed in or the people to place them were attacked by something far worse. As he made his way through, he found an entry point to the station via the fire escape, after sneaking his way in and infiltrating the station further, he encountered plenty of zombies and locked doors.

After finally passing through the watchman's room, he approached the breakroom where he heard a loud thud through the somewhat thin wall and knew that the odds of it being another Human being were very slim. He seized this opportunity to use his SPECS, an intricate device used to help scan rooms, monitor his health and even check his inventory and updates from his employers, he used its thermal sensors to see what lurked within the break room, and was surprised to see that it was a humanoid figure holding his torso like he was nursing a wound.)

"Zombies don't check their wounds…"

(He muttered to himself in his deep voice, pulling out his Glock as he then neared the door, ready to dispose of whatever or whoever was inside. As the stranger kicked down open the door, he raised his gun at the entity the SPECS identified, only for him to be greeted by a familiar face that he himself did not recognize, a police officer, wounded and holding a gun right back at him, confirming that he was still Human…though the wound in his sternum suggested that it was not a status he would remain in for too long. After the two locked eyes, they both slowly lowered their weapons when they realized their opponent was Human, the Police officer then sighed and coughed as he spoke his thoughts out loud.)

"Jesus, I thought you were one of those…things…the big ones…"

"Negative…who are you?"

"…Marvin Branagh…you?"

"Derek…that's all you need to know…"

(After holstering their weapons, the two men spoke in turns as Derek and Marvin conversed and informed each other of their own individual situations.)

"So the whole station's overrun…how many officers do you have left?"

"Sent away a team of mine, they needed out more than we needed reinforcements…Don't know where the Chief is and right now…SHIT!"

"What is it?"

"Elliot, he's still downstairs! In the garage, God knows what the Hell's down there with him, I was supposed to meet him there until…"

(Marvin paused as he gripped his wound, angry at himself for being so careless, but Derek did not judge nor did he argue, instead he asked Marvin "What if I went down there after him?" but Marvin refused, claiming "Nuh-uh, too dangerous…Ngh, I don't know what's down there and you-" but Derek interjected and argued "I'm more than capable of handling these things…not a scratch on me…trust me, I'll help your friend…" as Marvin reluctantly remained silent, trying to figure out who this "Derek" individual was and what was he after. As the Stranger got up to leave, Marvin stopped him and asked one more thing.)

"Hey…who are you…really?…"

"…I'm a guy who's looking for something…helping people is just a hobby of mine…but if you're worried that I'm being too secretive, I wouldn't mind knowing where the STARS offices are…"

"…if you can bring Elliot back, I'll tell you where to find them…"

(As he then allowed Derek to leave the breakroom and make his way into the Garage of the station, where he found plenty of corpses, moving and still, but as he made his way into a few of the other areas and disposing some zombies and even some infected dogs, he found something particularly interesting, a secret door that lead to an elevator.)

"I wonder how much the tax payers footed that bill?"

(Derek says in his usual monotonous voice as he then notices the door to its controls, locked and bearing a crystalized symbol of a diamond. As he peered inside, he pondered how to get in but was caught off guard when he saw someone's head pop out from behind the desk. Keeping his cool and scanning the man, Derek noticed that he was wearing an RPD uniform and was most likely this "Elliot" Marvin sent him to find and questioned him to verify his suspicions.)

"Are you Elliot?"

"Yeah, who the Hell are you?"

"…Marvin sent me, I'm here to help get you out…"

"I appreciate the offer but…(sighs) look, when I found what I was looking for down here, I got caught by these weird red looking things…even if they were gone, I…I'm locked in here…Look, just tell Marvin that I found this. It has everything we need to know about how to get the Hell out of here"

(Elliot states as he holds up a small notebook, he then opens it and places it against the glass for Derek to see better, he then nervously asks "…I uh…don't suppose you have a pen and paper." but Derek refuses and states "I won't need it, I plan on getting you back to Marvin like I promised, the door's locked, right? Looks like I'll need to find a key…" but Elliot states the difficulty as he informs Derek "Yeah well good luck with that, I have no idea where it is and those froggy bastards aren't going to let you go anywhere if you so much as blink too loud…" but Derek stays determined and retorts "Just give me some time, I tend to have a good eye for finding things and dealing with problems." as he then made his way through the sublevels of the station in search of the key.

Eventually, Derek came across the very creature Elliot warned him of, as he was about to cut through the K9 kennels, he leaned forth to open the door and felt a drop of blood hit his coat. Calmly and quietly he looked at his shoulder and saw the small piece of blood as he then slowly looked up and saw it…A Licker. Before Derek knew it, he tucked and rolled out of the way of the Licker's strike, pulling out his gun and readying to battle the mutated BOW. After unloading his pistol into the beast's head, dodging some of its attacks and even stabbing it a few times, Derek managed to kill it properly as he then dusted off his coat, reloaded his gun and made his way to the morgue.

After grabbing the key and getting past a few more Lickers, Derek brought the diamond shaped key back to Elliot and unlocked the door for him, aiding his escape. Elliot was impressed and grateful by this stranger's skills and help as he then rushed out of the room, patted the Stranger on his shoulder and informed him that they needed to leave.)

"Nice work, let's get out of here!"

"Why can't we use the elevator?"

"No way! That leads to the Chief's office and that bastard has proven to not have our best interests in mind. We gotta go back the way we came!"

(Derek complied, unsure if Elliot's suspicion was accurate or biased, but he knew that there was no time for arguing, so Derek took point and guided Elliot to the garage as he made his way to the hall…but before they could even reach for the door, a faint hissing warned them that a Licker was in the room and "Watching" them intently. Elliot barely muttered "Oh God" under his breath as the Licker then lunged to strike, but Derek showed a display of incredible speed as he kicked the Mutant, sending it flying across the Garage. Before Elliot could even process this, Derek urged him to rush for the door, which he complied with as he kicked the door open, but was horrified when yet another Licker lunged out and tackled him, ready to slash him open. But Derek shot the creature in its exposed brain, agitating it to switch targets as it then tackled Derek, pinning him as the Stranger shouted at Elliot "Move! I'll be fine!" as Elliot then reluctantly bolted out of the Garage and upstairs to the main department. The first Licker was about to chase after him, but Derek, still pinned under the 2nd Beast, shot at it and made sure that neither were pursuing the man he just helped escape. Derek then kicked the Licker off of him, even knocking it into the other mutant as he then quickly rose to his feet and prepared to execute the two BOWs.

After disposing of them both, Derek then dusted off his coat again and made his way to the upstairs of the station, only for his path to be interrupted by a sudden black out. Something caused the power in this whole section to go out and the electronic door to the stairs was locked. Derek grumbled "Of course" as he understood this, then began to change paths to the elevator that leads to the Chief's office. While heading back to the elevator room, Derek radioed Marvin using his earpiece to tap into the local frequency and informed him of his progress and his latest obstacle.)

"Marvin, it's Derek, I managed to get Elliot out of the Garage, he should be on his way back to you…"

"Really? That's great!"

"Yeah, unfortunately we got separated and now I have to find my own way back to the top."

"Okay, just stay safe…if you make it back, the STARS offices are on the second floor on the furthest west hallway, near the bathrooms…"

"Acknowledged…and thanks…"

"Hey, Thank YOU…Elliot would've been a goner if you hadn't shown up…Marvin out."

(After that, Derek began to make his way to the Chief's office via use of the secret elevator and began to navigate his way through the station once as he made his way to the STARS offices. However, upon reaching the hallway, Derek stopped when noticed the Licker hiding upon the surface of the ceiling, he grumbled "Of course they're up here too." as he remained quiet, not in the mood to deal with another Mutant so soon as he quietly made his way to the STARS office room.

After entering, Derek searched the area, finding virtually nothing that interested him, save for a small flash drive with the Umbrella logo on it, which contained nothing when he checked, but figured it would still be of use later as he pocketed it and began to walk away. But upon seeing a specific nameplate sitting so silently on a desk within the captain's office, Derek stopped, remained still as his eyes fixated on the nameplate, then entered the office of STARS captain, Albert Wesker. For some reason, Derek was fixated on this man and the position he held at the RPD as he looked around and saw plenty of this individual's life told before him through the files, incident reports, and even group photos he was in. Derek's only response was to stare silently at the photo of Wesker with his team, hanging on the wall…before pulling out his Glock and unloading several rounds into Wesker's photographed face, smashing the glass frame and ruining the picture as it fell to the floor behind the desk.

After reloading his pistol, Derek began to leave the room, but heard the nearby Fax Machine activate as it then buzzed and produced a strange document that carried some rather interesting information, even more so when he found out who it was addressed to. After grabbing the letter, Derek read it closely as he already began recording the contents using his SPECS.

"Mr. Chris Redfield

Raccoon City Police Dept.

S.T.A.R.S division

As per your request, we have conducted our internal investigation and discovered the following information:

1) Regarding the G-virus currently under development by Umbrella Inc.

So far it is unconfirmed that the G-virus even exists. We're continuing with our investigation but apparently our spy has reason to believe that if it was to be held anywhere in Umbrella's reach, it would be held within one of their "Nests" and heavily guarded.

2) Regarding Mr. Brian Irons, Chief of Raccoon City Police Dept.

Irons has allegedly received a large sum of funds in bribes from Umbrella Inc. over the last five years. He was apparently involved in the cover up of the mansion lab case along with several other incidents in which Umbrella appears to have direct involvement.

had been arrested under suspicion of rape on two separate counts during his years as a university student. He underwent psychiatric evaluation as a result of the charges but was released due to circumstantial evidence as well as his phenomenal academic standing.

As such, extreme caution is advised when dealing with him.

Jack Hamilton

Section Chief

Internal Investigations

United States Federal Police Department"

After the SPECS confirmed to have recorded the last of the letter, Derek muttered "Well this made things much easier for me…and far more interesting than expected." as he then hid the letter within his jacket and began to make his way to the exit door, that is until he heard gunshots muffled through the wall, indicating that someone was alive and disposing of the Licker in the Hallway. After the gunfire stops, Derek hid behind a nearby wall, convinced that the lack of screams meant that the victor was Human and on their way into the room.

After silently waiting for whoever it was to reveal themselves, Derek heard the door open followed by a few footsteps as it became clear that someone entered the room. After they got close enough, Derek snuck up behind them and aimed his weapon at the individual's head, instructing them "Don't move" as the person raised their hands and allowed Derek to get a good look at the person he was interrogating. It looked to be a blonde haired man, wearing the standard issue police uniform and looked like he'd already seen Hell despite how young he looked. The blonde haired man then responded "It's okay, I'm a cop." As he kept his hands raised and his movement slow, Derek calmly lowered his gun as he stated "I noticed from the uniform…who are you?" as he tried to lower any remaining tension with this person that he held at gunpoint.)

"Leon Kennedy. You?"

"You can call me Derek, I take it you're the rookie they planned the surprise party for?"

"Most likely, be awkward if it was for a different Leon Kennedy."

(Derek then holstered his weapon, keeping it ready in case any zombie broke through the door during the encounter and informed Leon "Alright, Marvin and Elliot should be somewhere in this station, try and find them while I deal with business." but Leon already confirmed something to Derek as he stated "Already met Marvin, and Elliot…he died…on his way to the Lobby." causing Derek to sigh in frustration and disappointment, he was silent for a moment before finally saying "…That's unfortunate…but thank you for informing me…" as he then made his way to the door, stopping himself from leaving before he said "…Take care of yourself Kennedy…" as he then exited the STARS room and made his way through the station, informing his employers of the latest update.)

"Control, this is Derek, I'm still working on my way out of the police station, but I found a few things of interest."

"Don't take too long, the city's going to shit and if you can't get out before it gets any worse, then you'll be in the deadzone of a nuke."

"You're kidding…What about any of the remaining survivors?"

"Disregarded, the Government's not taking any chances and Umbrella's probably just going to encourage them to do it and help cover the evidence."

"…Acknowledged…Resume priority on mission."

(Derek says as he reluctantly hangs up on coms, but still, he felt a need to help the people of this station while he could, he needed to aid them…which he intends to do, just this time on a rushed schedule.)

[After some more encounters and events transpiring within the Police Station, Derek resumes his path through Raccoon city as he seeks to find what his mission demands of him, as he finishes leaving the station, Derek radios his employers once more as he begins to walk away, refusing to elaborate on his escapades as he informed them only of what they found noteworthy.]

"Control, I've managed to make it through the Police Station…even got intel on the potential location of the new Virus Umbrella's working on. They might be held in some place called "The Nest"."

"Excellent work, Derek…We'll scout their files and see if we can't specify its location, in the meantime, try to stay out of sight and only do what's necessary…"

"Acknowledged…Wesker out."

Here is a tale of a future that was never told, of a night that dawned in the dark. A man like few others, born and raised to aid a mad man to achieve immortality, but being rejected by the very thing he was being tested for…only, it worked…Derek Wesker's heart stopped and his brain functions ceased when the Progenitor virus entered his systems, but his death was more of a coma, a cocoon that he eventually emerged from as he was saved by a third party, seeing value in the reject as they planned on utilizing him against the very corporation that gave him life…Now he hunts down shadows of his past, hoping to bring the light to those who wronged him and to make his creators and all their demons face justice.

Back in 2005, I came up with an idea for a fan character named Derek Wesker, who I planned on being the brother to our familiar antagonist, it wasn't until some lore digging after playing 5 that I learned there really WAS a Derek Wesker who was confirmed dead along with others, but since Alex and came up in recent history, I figured my idea of having another Wesker survivor wouldn't be too far fetched and decided to tell his story, And before anyone asks, YES, he does have powers like Albert, in fact I have another story planned to help explain that too.
