Have you ever met a ghost before? It seems like a far-out experience, but it's happened to me, in a rather unusual place.

It was a freezing cold Saturday. I had just finished my lunch when I heard my dog barking out the window. I looked up, and there was a delivery truck just starting to drive down the street. I opened the door and picked up my package; a DVD of Noonbory and the Super 7 . I loved the show as a kid, and was happy to finally have some physical merchandise of it.

After I had put my lunch dishes in the dishwasher, I put the DVD in my laptop; we haven't had a working DVD player in years, but discs work with my faithful ol' PC just fine. It showed me the usual previews, warning screens, and the DVD menu. I like to check out what DVD menus have to offer, so I clicked through them all.

On the episode selection screen, I noticed there was a bonus option at the bottom for storyboards of a cancelled episode known as "A Visit from Sarahbory." I was very intrigued; there's little information known about the show's production online, so I was excited to finally see some behind-the-scenes. So of course, I clicked on the episode.

When it started, it had the usual Comic Sans title card (why did this show use Comic Sans, anyway?), and when it faded, the episode started with full colour and 3D animation. Odd, I thought; the menu said it was only storyboards. I then noticed that the characters were all wearing some sort of creepy costume. Oh, so this must be a Halloween episode. The costumes were all unique and cute; I particularly liked Cozybory's gothic dress.

The characters were all wandering around in the evening, going on a ghost hunt. Perhaps this was a sequel to "A Ghostygury Tale"? Nevertheless, I continued to watch, curious to see how this episode would play out. A mist began to surround the characters, and from it came a little ghost bory. "Helloooooo…" She cooed. "Do you know where my sister is?" Before any character could answer, the scene cut to black, then came back on in a different location. This little ghost began to recite a monologue.

"No one was ever my friend when I was young. I always had to eat lunch alone. Nobody ever liked me."

The screen then cut to black again; I caught on that maybe this was a series of scenes that were never given any connective tissue when the episode was cancelled. The next scene was just this ghost girl flying around, making ghost noises. This was really strange. Maybe this was why the episode was cancelled; what's the deal with all the focus on this random character who's never appeared before or since? "This is weird" I mumbled to my dog, and I began to reach for the stop button.

"Wait."

I glanced back up, and the little ghost was looking directly at me. "Don't turn the episode off."

Confused, I looked more closely. The episode's timebar had stopped, but the picture was still moving. This ghost had a mind of her own! "Are you talking to me?"

"Are you my sister?" The ghost asked me.

"I don't think we're even the same species," I answered, growing concerned.

The ghost girl poked her head forward and emerged from my laptop. My dog barked at her when she came out. "You got me. It's not a real episode." Now that she was out, she no longer looked like a bory, but was just a normal girl. "I'm lost."

"Where are you supposed to be?" I asked.

"Not here…" The girl floated to the window. "Not anywhere."

Odd. I began to get up from my chair. "Maybe there's somewhere you can go." After shooing my dog downstairs into my parents' bedroom and locking up the house, I got in the car with this little ghostly girl next to me, and went for a drive.

"Where are we going?" The ghost asked me.

"Well…I've always believed that when a baby is born, a lost soul begins a new life." I couldn't take my eyes off the road, but I did my best to give her a reassuring smile. "You're a lost soul, aren't you?"

"I guess so," said the ghost.

"Well then," I said. "Let's go find you a new life."

After passing the abandoned convenience store, crossing over the bridge, and going by the university, I made it to the hospital parking lot. Putting a mask over my face, I entered the hospital, and trying to stay out of others' way, I brought this girl to see the nursery. Watching from the outside, the little girl cooed in awe at all the little babies. "They're so cute."

"That could be you," I said.

The girl looked at me. "Really?"

"This is where babies are born," I said. "Go and find some parents. They'll love you very much."

Hearing a big shout from the other room, the girl's ghostly body began to sparkle away. "My name is Sarah," she told me. "I'll be a good girl. I promise."

When I got home, my DVD had no trace of any storyboards or cancelled episodes. A week later, I was coming home on the bus when I passed by a mother with a little girl by her side and a newborn in a carriage; a newborn with the same button nose and round cheeks as Sarah.
