Chapter 1:

Who knows when this madness began? Shephard had lost all sense of time, drifting alone in the void of his own thoughts. Then, out of the blue, he blinked his eyes open. To his disbelief, he found himself in what appeared to be an abandoned building. he thought, but it seemed like it had only been deserted a hot day, and of course he was without a weapon all thanks to that briefcase guy.

As Shephard surveyed his surroundings, he found himself in what seemed to be the remnants of a grocery store. He couldn't help but wonder if those infamous aliens from Black Mesa had a hand in this peculiar situation. As he strolled cautiously through the abandoned store, out of the blue, a hooded humanoid creature leaped at him, pinning him to the ground with a surprising burst of strength. It began tearing at his chest with its claws

Shephard, despite the creature's small size almost like a teenager it was hard to push away as he spotted a nearby knife, he grabbed it and swiftly dispatched the creature, giving it a rather final 'brain teaser.' Thanks to his trusty PCV vest the creature's assault left him more annoyed than injured. He mumbled, 'Lesson learned: don't mess with the emo crowd. I mean, seriously man this hurts...' But before he could finish his musings, a human figure drenched in blood sprinted toward him. The figure's deathly pale skin and eerie sounds were anything but comforting. 'Uh man you okay?' Shephard inquired before the figure lunged at him. This time, Shephard was ready, and he dispatched the figure with a well-placed stab.

Looking at the lifeless body, he quirked an eyebrow. 'Holy shit, Did I just stab a zombie? A real-life, flesh-eating zombie? And I thought Black Mesa was as worse as it could get.' Curiosity piqued so he approached a nearby window and peered outside. 'My God...' he breathed. It wasn't just one or two; there were dozens of these creatures swarming the area.
