It had been a dozen years since she had left Kingslanding with the intention of never returning but here she was, on a boat coming in to dock in the harbor. Oh, she knew her father wanted to see her and speak with her but she did not and had been trying to make that abundantly clear to him since she had left for Winterfell with her then new husband.

Okay, so this is a very AU story. I have altered some of the birth dates/ event dates to better suit this story and I have included a timeline of significant events so you can understand how old people are when things happen better. I have created the character Lady Leonna Stark nie Corbray as the wife of Lord Rickon Stark and mother of Cregan Stark (and adoptive mother of Lady Sara Snow, Lord Rickon's baseborn bastard daughter) and Lady Eloise Stark nie Hornwood as Lord Rickon Stark's mother (Cregan's grandmother) to be the Stark in Winterfell during the time of the wedding as she's too old to travel and has spent the bulk of her life as a Stark (married at 13).

This story is loosely based on Dog Days Are Over by mochichimchim13 so if you like this story, read that one, leave comments begging for updates and maybe that author will finally get around to updating it as I really want to know what direction that story gets taken.

Also, I have [ ] in the story. This means that I'm unsure if the information is canon or true or real or anything.

The actual wedding vows/ wording are based on what is found in the story Her Grace, Rhaenyra Targaryen by ladyalinora(AmbitiousWitch) which is another story I'm following and can't wait for the author to end the hiatus because the last chapter posted is such an extreme cliff hanger and apparently the author still has 29 chapters still planned but not available to be read yet. I'm VERY eager to read all of those chapters.

I'm planning do a sequel where the royal family goes to Winterfell as Viserys wants to see Rhaenyra and her family in their own home where they feel more comfortable (and none of the royals have ever actually been there). Also a sequel, a Dance of the Dragons but between Aegon, Aemond and Dareon where the North and Vale claim Switzerland and where Rhaenyra has the possibility to become queen due to her brothers all being dead (maybe Daemon and Laenor as well). As a "series finale" I'm doing a one shot based about 1200 years later which covers the legacy they all leave behind and is set in a modern setting. Possible also, a short story where Daenerys is a descendant of Daemon and Laena and is dragonless while Jon Snow and all of the Starks are a direct descendant of Rhaenyra and all have dragons and, as Daenerys is raised in Essos, doesn't really understand how her family lost the dragons but the North has them. The crypt scene would have Jon showing her Rhaenyra's effigy and him explaining how she brought the dragons north and how, while during the civil war down south the dragons were killed off, the North stayed out of the conflict and their dragons lived. Let me know what you think and if you think in some sequel I should have Rhaenyra finally make peace with Viserys or if she stays frosty to him. Will she ever mend her friendship with Alicent or not, etc.
