"Webs, how bad is the wound?"

It was clear that they had returned to their hideout, or more like, their home. All five of them; Wolf, Snake, Tarantula, Shark, and Piranha. After the day that they had, busting a drug trafficking ring, they were all wiped out from several months' worth of being undercover within the ring, and finally sweeping the deck out from underneath the trafficking ring's feet without being noticed by the police, the five friends had finally returned to their home, to wrap things up. And to take care of one of their own, Wolf, Snake, and Shark were all huddled next to each other in the dining area, where on top of the table, Tarantula, and Piranha, with the bigger of the two laid back on the table. Piranha chuckled when he heard Wolf's question. Tarantula had to smack the fish's fin in order to keep him still as she got ready to place rubbing alcohol on his 'wound'.

"Whatcha talking about chico? It's just a graze," Piranha told him. "Not like I was hit with a bullet."

"Eh, that's exactly the point," Tarantula said to Piranha.

"Just because it didn't enter your flesh doesn't mean you weren't hit by it. If you remember correctly, it scraped a piece of your flesh off. Now hold still."

As she rubbed it on his flesh wound—or more like, scale wound, using a cotton swab, Piranha hissed as he felt the swab touching the spot on his back where the bullet had almost ripped through his scales. After Tarantula had placed enough rubbing alcohol, and healing ointment on his graze, she had Wolf help her with wrapping a bandage around him.

"Are we done now?" Piranha asked.

"We are now," Tarantula answered. "Now get a shirt on."

Piranha complied as he put on another white colored shirt, then put the straps of his suspenders over the shoulders of his shirt, grimacing the entire time he did so, due to the pain from his back.

"You're one lucky guy," Snake told him. "Because now, I'm gonna have to kill you."

"Snake…?" Wolf said.

"What? I was just joking. No need to take it seriously," Snake replied to his friend.

"Especially with the fact that when it was all said and done, we all saw him laid out on the floor, eyes shut. I really thought that he was dead. He had us going for a few moments."

Tarantula gave Wolf a stern look. "He's got a point Wolfie."

Wolf then looked behind him, only to see that Piranha had fallen asleep on the couch. Most likely because of how worn out the day had made him, and to top it off, his close encounter with death.

"Considering that he's asleep already, it makes sense." Wolf said to her in a low voice.

The spider looked behind her and slightly smiled at the sight of the youngest member of the Bad Guys having already fallen asleep on the couch. And with Shark in the sofa next to the couch. As the other three were making their way to the couch, Wolf felt his phone buzzing from within the pocket of his jacket. He took it out and only smirked when he saw who it was.

"Diane's here. She wants an update on how we're doing," Wolf told them.

"If Piranha wakes up, tell him that I'm talking with the governor."

As Wolf made his way to the elevator, he took off his jacket and placed it on the coat hanger on his way out. Once he walked into the elevator, he felt it going down and away from the hideout as the doors closed. After a few seconds, it finally stopped, indicating that he was where he needed to be. After the doors opened up, Wolf found himself facing a familiar yellow colored quarter car. He heard the passenger side door unlock as the person inside the vehicle motioned for him to get in on the other side of the car. Once he got in, Wolf looked beside himself to his left, and saw that he was now face to face with Diane Foxington, governor of California, and formerly, the Crimson Paw. Foxington currently had on a red colored collared short sleeved shirt, and a pair of black colored denim jeans.

"I'm guessing you didn't necessarily have to go into work today?" Wolf asked her.

"Actually, for once, I didn't have to." Diane answered. "Plus, Bartholomew said that he'd take care of business."

"So glad you chose him to your lieutenant governor," Wolf told Diane.

"You know? Someday, he's going to be governor," she then said, looking Wolf in the eye.

"Yeah, just as long as the people love him, like they do you." Wolf said, in a half whisper.

Diane took a breath before continuing on with the conversation that she and Wolf started.

"So, I heard about the bust? How did that go?"

Wolf looked out his window a little as he tried to piece together how he was going to tell her, using his sharp mind. After a moment, the anthropomorphic wolf took a deep breath as he began to tell her.

"Well, besides Piranha almost dying, yeah, everything went great." Wolf replied.

"No. How?" Diane gasped.

Wolf then told her how the bullet had nearly hit him, only grazing a piece of his flesh open. And how Shark had knocked unconscious the guy who had pulled the trigger on him, using nothing but a broom.

"Poor guy. Is he okay?" She asked Wolf.

"He's fine. It's nothing really." Wolf said.

"Plus, you tend to forget, Piranha's one tough cookie. It'll have to take more than just a tiny bullet to finish Piranha off. However, I did make it mandatory for the gang and I to wear bulletproof vests underneath our suits from this day forward."

"I did tell you that you didn't have put you all's noses into where they don't belong," Diane said.

"All you could have done was have my friend who's a detective within the GSPD to get his unit and himself to bust that drug kingpin, and his goons even earlier."

"You could've, but it was meant to be ours," Wolf said. "Plus, we saved more lives than what the cops would've done, no offense to the Chief."

Wolf paused a moment as he looked out the window again, then redirecting his eyes on Diane.

"And speaking of GSPD, I keep getting calls from them. You think the Chief's trying to keep tabs on us?"

"Nah," Diane answered, waving her hand into the air.

"She usually has different ways to do that. So if anything, I think it's someone else within the police department."

"You wouldn't happen to know who, would you?" Wolf asked.

Diane asked him to show her the phone number that kept calling him for the last several months, and once he did, she gasped again.

"If that person calls you again, I would answer it."

"Uh, what?" Wolf asked her, baffled.

"Listen here, Mister Poodleton," Diane said. "That's not the number of GSPD. That's the number of my friend."

"You mean, Chad Walker?" Wolf asked.

Diane only nodded her head. Wolf then looked out the window again, this time, even longer than before. Diane took a deep breath as she got to speak again.

"Chad's been calling you for the last six months to see if you were interested in being someone who he could rely on whenever he had a interesting case, or something in the likes."

"Well, yeah, next time you see him, tell him I'm not interested." Wolf replied.

"I heard of how hard he is on reformed criminals like myself, Snake, Tarantula, Piranha, and Shark."

"C'mon, he's not." Diane chuckled.

Wolf's eyes grew a little. "Wait? You mean… Chad Wesley Walker, or you mean Chad Tyrus Walker?"

"Chad Tyrus Walker," Diane answered him.

"Wait. What? He's your friend? The Chad T. Walker?" Wolf asked her.

"Chad T. Walker. Now calm yourself down Wolf before you give yourself a heart attack," Diane said.

"Okay, now that you said that it was Chad T. Walker, I would be interested in something like that." Wolf replied.

It was then that the two of them, wolf and fox, caught themselves looking each other in the eye. And they did so for the next several moments. Afterwards, Diane broke the gaze and looked out the windshield of her vehicle.

"It's probably real close to 8. I'm usually home by then, relaxing and winding down for the night. All that."

"Yeah, some with me and the team," Wolf said. "Piranha's asleep already."

"Hey, you know with all the dates you and I went out on?" Wolf asked.

Diane nodded her head when she looked at him.

"I was just wondering… that… that, maybe, I would like to take it a step further… after all; we have a good thing going, Governor."

Diane, at this point, chuckled nervously. "W-what do you mean Wolf?"

Wolf only smiled as he reached for something from the pocket of his pants. As he did, he paused a moment.

It's now or never. He thought to himself.

After a few seconds, Wolf pulled the item out of his pocket, and showed Diane what was inside of the tiny, felt box. Wolf thought that he heard her gasp, from the way his ears pricked.

"I was just wondering, um… Diane Foxington… if would you're willing, would you be willing to spend the rest of your life with me, as my wife?"

Wolf had a nervous look on his face. Whereas, Diane just looked at him in shock, but it was after a moment or two that she finally said anything.

"Wolf, I think that you already know my answer…"

Before he could react, Diane pulled him in for a kiss. After a few seconds of sharing the moment between them, Diane finally pulled herself away from Wolf, and the two of them stared each other in the eye again for another moment, but it was Wolf who clinched it another notch. He pulled Diane in for another kiss, and this time, it lasted a little longer than before. Wolf then pulled himself away from her as she looked him in the eye.

"As for your answer, Mister Wolf… it's a yes," she told him.

Yes yes yes, I know! Probably too early for something like this between Wolf and Diane. I 'hate' to admit it… but I ship them! And speaking of which, it's been a year and six months since Wolf, and his team were set free from prison… or at least, in this story. But I had to, now before you say anything about Wolf's proposal to Diane, I ain't about to write all that 'stuff' in here. I'm not one of those people who do, especially with the fact that I have respect for the fact that this is based on both a kid's book series from Aaron Blabey, and a kid's movie of the same name. So either you have respect for what was written down. Or… if you don't have anything nice to say about it, then don't even bother to write a review about this chapter at all! Anyhoo, I've got more to write down for this story, so I ain't going anywhere.

[TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3, yes, I know. Thanks for the reviews on the previous two chapters. God bless.]

Ciao,
