No One's POV

Jessica Pearson looked over the Manhattan skyline, her mind lost in thought to the sheer clusterfuck her day had already turned out, and it was only ten in the morning; it was Daniel Hardman's first official day back at Pearson Hardman, her most trusted confidant and the closest person she could call a friend, currently had her questioning his loyalty, and most of all, it felt like everything was in disarray and could fall from beneath her feet at any moment.

Across the floor, the elevator doors opened to the 50th floor, a petite 5'6" woman with light brunette hair and dark highlights automatically striding out, coffee in hand, and her designer GUESS jeans hugging her athletic form casually as she walked out confidently, her entourage following her as her leather boots made a light muted sound on the carpeted floors of the Pearson Hardman office floor.

"Oh my god," Louis nearly screeches and all but panicking, making an aborted motion with his hand, before halting in his tracks and spinning on his heel sharply, making him nearly collide with Harvey who was a step or so behind him also on his way towards Jessica's office to voice his concerns, but certainly not complain, about having to work with Daniel.

"What, Louis? Jesus. Watch where you're going!" Harvey complains to Louis, giving him an annoyed look; he did not need Louis, doing, well whatever the hell he was doing, he had enough with being in the doghouse with Jessica and having to work with Daniel Hardman of all people, honestly, he'd rather scoop his eyeballs out with a spoon or jump out of the window of the 50th floor window of their offices.

"No, no, you don't get it. Shit." Louis curses, waving his hands at Harvey and slightly hyperventilating. "That's-" Louis looks around and cranes his neck around the corner as if it's some big secret.

"What?" Harvey asks impatiently again, sighing a little.

"That's Shayleigh McCann." Louis hisses to Harvey, his voice low as if he's imparting some great secret.

"Okay… And?" Harvey questions with a brow raised as if that name was supposed to mean anything to him, because for the record, it didn't.

"Never mind," Louis rolls his eyes and huffs before stomping off towards Jessica's office to get the information himself.

"Knock, knock?" Shayleigh knocks on Jessica's door before walking in with her personal assistant and bodyguard behind her; it wasn't like she was all that high maintenance okay, but with certain parts of her, well, fame, it was important that she kept on schedule and that she was safe.

"Now isn't a good time." Jessica answers evenly, expecting whoever it was, even Harvey, to simply come back later.

"Not even for me?" Shayleigh questions with a playful tilt of her voice.

"Shay," Jessica turns with a genuine smile, greeting her sister in all but blood.

"Nice to see you too, Jess." Shayleigh smiles as she walks towards Jessica, the two women embracing fondly; their families both went back mutually a long time, Jessica and Shayleigh were practically sisters, more so than Shayleigh and her actual older sister, who was a year older than Jessica.

"What brings you here? To Manhattan? Aren't you supposed to be in London?" Jessica questions as they pull away from the embrace.

"The good coffee. Heaven's knows there isn't any there." Shayleigh jokes as she holds up her coffee cup. "And I was in London. I came home. I actually just landed a few hours ago."

"Is everything-" Jessica questions, now looking a little concerned.

"Haven't you heard? About dad?" Shayleigh answers Jessica's unanswered question.

"No, I haven't." Jessica shakes her head, automatically looking for her phone as if the news should be on her phone.

"He's in the hospital, Jess." Shayleigh offers quietly.

"If there is anything I can do… If the firm…" Jessica begins.

"There is, in a matter of fact." Shayleigh responds, something like a fire igniting in her eyes. "It's actually why I'm here. Not that I don't enjoy seeing you." At that she bumps Jessica's arm teasingly.

"Jessica-" Louis practically barges into Jessica's office, Harvey a step or two behind him. "Oh, I'm sorry… I'm- excuse me, Ms. McCann. I didn't mean to- excuse me." Louise begins to babble out, practically bowing to Shayleigh, not expecting her to actually be in the office with Jessica at that very moment.

"Louis… And Harvey…" Jessica sighs very subtle, pausing Louis' stuttering and taking a look at Harvey as if to convey a look at 'why are you both here', to which Harvey merely shrugs at Jessica, his attention caught by the slim brunette in the room. "This is Shayleigh McCann. An old friend of mine. Shayleigh, this is Louis Litt, Junior Partner to the firm, and Harvey Specter, Senior Partner to the firm." Jessica introduces politely, still partially giving them firm looks as if to tell them to leave or shut up.

"It's such an honor, Ms. McCann. Such an honor. Really." Louis rushes to offer his hand and shake Shayleigh's. "I watched your performance in the Beijing Olympics on Dauntless Warrior and it was just spectacular."

"Thank you, Louis. And you can call me Shayleigh." Shayleigh tells Louis. "Nice to meet you, Harvey." She offers Harvey a handshake as well.

"You as well, Shayleigh." Harvey's deep voice answers as he takes Shayleigh's offered hand for a brief shake, appraising her with his gaze before dropping it.

"I take it, you are a fan of equestrian riding, Louis?" Shayleigh turns back to Louis with an inquiring look, equally as dismissive to Harvey as he seemingly was with her, and to be fair, he was unaccustomed to women dismissing him so easily, rather he was used to them fawning over him for his looks or his wealth.

"Yes. It's beauty." Louis nearly fan girls. "It's art. The way you and your horse move-"

"Okay," Jessica cuts Louis off finally. "Shay, what is it that you need from me? From the firm?" At that question, it got both Louis and Harvey's attention for the potential for a new opportunity and case for themselves.

"It's not official, yet… And it will take some time. But the company is mine, Jessica. You know that as well as I do… I'm on the Board and dad left it to me. I shouldn't have any opposition. But… Well… My sister's decided that she suddenly has an interest in it. Nothing is going to stand in my way… Not even my sister..." Shayleigh tells Jessica, giving Jessica a look that both know well, which shows the depth of their friendship and a history they both share between their families. "Your firm is the best. I need the best."

"Of course," Jessica nods solemnly. "And that's what you'll get. Nothing less, Shay."

"Good. I want to bury her so deep that her divorce looks like a walk-through hell." Shayleigh smiles, her smile a little too sharp to be polite.
