Wow, a new familiar project name. Yes, this story is a sequel to the bullying project, and there is even more to come! I can't wait to show you, so I won't hold you up any longer. Enjoy!

It is very much advised to read the original bullying project first. I warned ya.

This story is a bit shorter mainly for a little something I'm planning in the future ;)

Paw patrol the bullying project 2

The rain was pouring like it had never before, thunder echoing through the trees. A storm like Zuma had never seen before. The sun was gone, and it was very dark, but in the dark, eyes became visible. Eyes bright red, so bright the grass around the figure was colored red. The flashing of lightning in the background. A second figure appeared, same eyes as the first figure. Both figures started laughing, it was as loud as the thunder roaring in the background. Then a third figure appeared further away, this figure had yellow eyes, resembling betrayal, but also friendship, the eyes didn't glow as blinding bright as the other two figures. The red eyed figures suddenly approached Zuma, he wanted to run away but he was frozen in place. Zuma looked at the third figure, seeing his eyes turn blue, sadness.

'Help me!' Zuma yelled at the figure. But instead, the figure disappeared. Zuma now left alone with the two scary figures. His heartbeat felt in his head as the two figures came closer and closer. Suddenly the figures were revealed to be dogs as they were now running towards Zuma. Zuma braced for impact as the dogs jumped to attack Zuma. Suddenly Zuma found himself in a small, enclosed space, panicked he managed to find a button and he found himself outside. Zuma looked around realizing he was at the lookout, and that what he had just witnessed, was just a dream.

Zuma calmed himself down as he looked at the moon, the moonlight reflecting off the calm sea. Zuma sighed as he went back into his pup house. Staring at the beautiful ocean in front of him, unable to go back to sleep. Zuma able to see the sun rising from the water as the morning was arriving. Now it was 6 am, some very active pups would be getting out of bed and Zuma had enough of just laying around waiting for the other pups to wake up, so he got up.

Chase was already doing some morning stretches in front of his pup house and some other pups were also awake, still trying to process they woke up.

'Morning Zuma.' Chase whispered, still in dreamland

'Good morning.' Zuma whispered back smiling as he watched his friend trying to wake himself up.

'Long night?' Zuma asked, wondering if he wasn't the only one.

'No not really, think I slept too good even.' Chase joked back. 'You?'

'I had some trouble falling asleep, but from there it went fine.' Zuma answered, twisting the story.

'Can see that.' Chase joked. 'We should reinstate morning gymnastics.'

'Ha, cannot agree.' Zuma replied.

The other pups started waking up and played a good game of early morning volleyball before breakfast. After the pups' bellies were satisfied everyone went to chill and do their own thing. Marshall and Chase were filming in town for the new paw patrol YouTube channel and for their personal channels. Every pup had one, Zuma had not done much with it though.

It was starting to heat up as the sun had nothing standing in its way of shining. People coming out of their houses with towels, telling Zuma the beach was going to be busy. Zuma went to the beach and saw Ryder and Rocky standing there watching the people arrive.

'Hey Zuma, nice to see you, would you be interested to be an extra lifeguard today? It is still early spring so the water is still very cold, some extra eyes could be useful.' Ryder asked.

'Of course.' Zuma replied. Happy to be able to help. Zuma went inside to grab his lifeguard stuff; Rocky had already done so. Ryder had to go someplace else so now it was just him and Rocky, guarding a pretty big beach which was starting to fill up. Rocky grabbed two microphones so both pups could keep the crown under control. As no one else was available, if the crowd was too much, the beach would need to be evacuated for safety. More and more people starting to go in the cold water to cool themselves off.

'Maybe you should start patrolling on your board, keep an eye on the water.' Rocky thought out loud.

'Good idea.' Zuma said. He quickly went to grab his special lifeguard board and entered the water, watching the people. The sun was hot, and you could feel that being on the water. Zuma dipping one of his paws in the water sometimes to try and cool off, it wasn't really working though. Whilst watching the people from his board randomly a stupid memory hit him, out of the blue, like it's been doing more and more recently. "You are not doing anything, why are you even in a rescue team if you don't do anything, you're just waiting their money." Jack's words from half a year ago echoed through his minds. The words like knives giving Zuma that very unpleasant feeling from his heart.

'Zuma, guy wondering a bit far out.' Rocky reported through Zuma's pup tag.

'On my way!' Zuma said, paddling towards a guy swimming far out. The paddling had never felt so hard, Zuma's tiredness and the sun now shining on him for quite a while not making this job easy.

'Hello sir, you are quite far away from shore, not very safe.' Zuma told the man.

'Oh sorry, I always like deep water, but I'll go closer to shore.' The man reacted nicely, starting to swim back closer to shore. Zuma gave a sign towards Rocky that all was alright, Zuma slowly paddled back to his position. By now the sun was getting to its strongest. Zuma found himself getting distracted more and being less focused, but he had to focus. He already missed one guy passing him, which was the more dangerous zone, could not happen again. So, Zuma continued his job, standing on hos board watching the beachgoers enjoy their summer day.

'Two guys seem to be play fighting, could you make sure it's just that?' Rocky reported.

Zuma paddled to the two men who seemed to be having a good time, almost felt like a huge waist of energy to go to them. 'All alright here boys?' Zuma asked the men.

'Oh yeah don't worry, we are just having fun, no real fight in these waters.' One of the men said, before using his hand to throw a lot of water in the other man's face.

'Nothing to worry about here.' Zuma reported over his pup tag, before paddling back to his spot. The heat really getting to Zuma, he wanted to lay down but then he'd lose focus. Zuma didn't have a lot to do, when he got the chance, he needed to do it well. In the distance Zuma could see the man who was swimming far out earlier swimming towards him.

'Hello, I had a question. My son is not a big swimmer, could he use a floatie to swim around?' The man asked nicely

'No, the current would pull him out to see so we can't allow that.' Zuma said, trying to remain focused.

The man noticed something was off and looked at Zuma. 'You okay there pup?' He asked. Zuma wanted to tell him he was okay, but he couldn't. His legs started to shake and his vision becoming limited. 'You have to lay done mate.' The man worried about Zuma. Zuma reluctantly doing what the man said and laying down. Rocky grabbing his binoculars as he noticed something was wrong too. 'Zuma, are you okay?' Rocky asked through the pup tag. Zuma not communicating back as he didn't know what to say. The man got as close to Zuma's pup tag as he could and reported to Rocky. 'He is going to need some medical attention on the beach.' The man putting his hand up in the air as a sign to Rocky. 'I can bring him to shore.' The man reported.

'Okay, thanks for letting me know.' Rocky replied through the pup tag. The man starting to swim to shore carefully pulling Zuma and his board with him. The man got Zuma back to shore, Zuma letting go of the situation and just focusing on himself, trying to manage the heat. He could hear Rocky and the man mumbling, but he could not tell what they were saying. The man picked Zuma up and started walking, the heat becoming too much for the Labrador. Everything going quiet.

Suddenly, Zuma could hear mumbling again, regaining consciousness. Ryder sat beside him petting him, holding an oxygen mask to Zuma's mouth and nose. Zuma still feeling very tired, but at least he didn't feel like passing out anymore, which wasn't a great feeling. 'Welcome back to earth.' Marshall joked. Zuma smiled as a reply, but inside he was far away from smiling. "I can't even do this right." The thought circled through his mind, echoing and repeating. Not much later Ryder picked him up, laying him in Marshall's EMT truck. Zuma remembered this was standard procedure from when Everest got overheated a while back. He just let everything happen to him as Ryder brought him into a hospital building, handing him over to a doctor Zuma knew very well. 'I'll be here okay.' Ryder said, petting Zuma on his favorite spot before the doctor took him to a different room. Letting Zuma rest in a table from where the doctor could check the pup's vitals.

'Nice to see you again Zuma, how is your leg doing?' the doctor named Theo asked. He treated Zuma's injuries from the incident with the bullies.

'Working as intended.' Zuma replied, clearly tired from the day.

'Heard the sun was a little much today, can you tell me what happened?' Theo asked nicely.

'What you said, i was life guarding and the sun was just, very bright.' Zuma said.

The doctor listening with much interest, nodding to Zuma's reply. The room fell silent as he calmly thought about his next question.

'Might I ask how you are doing since I last saw you.' Theo asked

'I mean, i can do everything again, so you could say everything is going better.' Zuma replied.

'I mean mentally.' Theo responded

'Is that related to what is going on?' Zuma asked, tired of all the questions.

'I will not make this long; these questions are very important to what I will do next. I know you are tired, and you will get all the time you need to rest after this, I promise.' Theo explained. 'Could I ask, how has your sleeping been lately.'

The room fell silent again, Zuma did not know what to answer. He didn't want to talk, but he had promised Ryder that if there would be any place he wouldn't lie about his situation, it would be the hospital. 'Not great.' Zuma answered. Staring to the floor to avoid any eye contact

The doctor nodded. 'Does it have to do with why you were here last time.' He asked. Zuma nodded as a response, trying not to get sad. 'That must be very difficult.' The doctor said. Zuma nodding again.

'I haven't seen those dogs since what happened, but in my dreams, they are there, and they are all I see or think about.' Zuma said, opening up as he let it out for the first time.

'It's hard to talk about isn't it.' Theo said.

'Yeah, Ryder has tried talking to me but i just shut down. I just can't do it.' Zuma responded.

'Never say never.' Theo said. 'Is there someone, who maybe is not connected to the rescue team, that you could talk too?'

'I can't think of that from the top of my very chaotic head.' Zuma responded.

'I can fully understand that. What i can do is give you the advice to go talk to someone not in this team who you feel you can trust, if you can't find that try finding a therapist. What I can do is give you some sleeping pills to help you get some more sleep, which you really need especially when working in a rescue team. It can also help to deal with heat just a little better, a well-rested mind goes a long way.' Theo explained.

'Thanks Theo, you should be a therapist one day.' Zuma joked.

Theo laughed. 'Looks like someone has their sence of humor back. You are good to go home. Make sure to stay in a cool environment and take a lot of that rest!' Theo said, taking down his very professional doctor's set up.

Zuma went back home with Ryder and rested in the lookout whilst most pups were at the beach, patrolling or building sandcastles. Zuma went to sleep, hoping his head would be less of a mess when he would wake up.

Storm brew in adventure bay, Zuma the only one at the lookout as his friends were scattered throughout town, warning people off the big storm. Zuma looked at the bay, the waves becoming higher and higher, now almost as high as the town, any higher and it would create major problems for the town. Zuma wanted to go into town to help, but he was scared, standing in place as the situation got worse. Zuma looked at the sea and saw a monster wave forming. He tried contacting Ryder, but he was not responding. Zuma ran inside the lookout. The building was dark, only the flashing of lightning lighting up the building every 3 seconds. Zuma desperately looking for a microphone to warn everybody. After having to look around the dark blindly for a few moments, he found the microphone and started going back up the lookout, which were now stairs instead of the usual elevator for no reason. Suddenly a dog appeared to be running beside him. "You are too late; you can't save them." The figure, sounding like Bear. Zuma still running up the stairs that seemed to go on forever. Suddenly another dog stood on the stairs blocking the path. "Hear that, you are useless, can't even warn your friends right." A voice sounding like Jack said. The dog disappeared and Zua continued running, hoping the dogs were wrong. He finally got to the top of the stairs and ran out onto the balcony with his microphone, but the huge tsunami wave was only 2 seconds away from hitting. Zuma could only watch as the wave was about to hit town, then everything went black. Zuma finding himself waking up at the lookout, he walked out to the balcony and saw the town was fine, another stupid dream.

Zuma was more frustrated than scared now, he needed to do what Theo told him, find someone to talk to he trusted, but who?

That night Zuma laid in his pup house, everyone else was already sleeping and Zuma was planning on taking his sleeping pills, but after he could figure out what to do next. Suddenly an idea dawned on Zuma, and he messaged someone via his pup tag, took his pills and went to sleep.

The sun was already shining bright, it was very quiet at the lookout. Zuma waked up, he wanted to cry. These pills only made his nightmares longer. Zuma felt like laying down and never getting up, nothing feeling worth it anymore. Zuma looked on his pup tag, only Ryder had sent him a message. Saying he was on a rescue mission with the pups, and he let Zuma rest. Zuma opened his pup house and looked around, thinking about the nightmares. He remembered every single one. Tears rolled down his face, Zuma no longer able to hold them back. He grabbed his filled water bowl and threw it inside his pup house as hard as he can, the water falling everywhere. Zuma walked inside his pup house and saw his water bowl lay there; it had a big dent on it now. Zuma breaking down, laying down and crying like he never had before.

Zuma wiped away his tears and found his composure back, knowing the pups could be done with the rescue at any moment and return home, the mess needed to be cleaned up. Zuma walked out his pup house. The water spilled all over the place had already disappeared with help from the bright sun. Zuma putting his water bowl back where it is supposed to stand. After making sure everything was back in its place Zuma finally ate some food and laid back down and waited for the team to return.

A few hours later the air patroller landed, and the pups came out. Most of them immediately walking to their pup houses at slow pace, everyone tired from the long rescue.

'Sorry it took so long, we didn't expect this rescue to be this long.' Ryder said, trying to start a chat with Zuma.

'It's fine, i survived.' Zuma said, smiling to try and tell Ryder things were fine, and nothing happened.

Ryder looked at the water bowl. 'That's strange.' He commented.

'Yeah, it was like this when I came out of my pup house.' Zuma lied.

'Oh okay, I'll fix it and fill it up for you.' Ryder said, getting up and walking away with the water bowl. He got it fixed quite quickly, returning with new fresh water. The rest of the day as very boring, as most pups just rested from the long mission. Zuma just trying to get his head straight. Night fell and everyone fell asleep. Zuma watched a beautiful big full moon show itself as time passed. The chaos in his mind not silencing for a moment, Zuma just wanting it to stop. He looked at his pup tag, still no response from who he was trying to reach. Zuma looked at the moon and back to his pup tag. An idea now echoing through his mind. He knew it was risky, but he needed to do something now or this night was going to be very long. Zuma stood up and got out of his pup house quietly, not wanting to wake anyone up. Zuma walked over the adventure bay roads; everything was quiet. A few streetlights were on, showing Zuma the way to adventure beach. Zuma went to the lifeguard tower, making sure to turn off the alarm before going in. Grabbing his special rescue board, it had a jet to make moving on water easier. Zuma took his pup tag and laid it down on the floor, before walking out the tower with his board. As he got to the water, he looked to the beautiful view of the full moon in the pitch-black sky, lighting up the water perfectly for Zuma to follow to his destination. Zuma getting on his board, Adventure Bay quickly disappearing in the dark.

The sun woke up, birds happily announcing the start of the day. Ryder walking out the lookout and breathing in the fresh morning air. Walking past all the pup houses to see who is awake and who isn't. He passes Zuma's pup house, surprised by the pup house being empty. Ryder looked around wondering what Zuma was up to. He grabbed his pup pad and looked for his location. Surprised that he was at the beach this early without telling anyone, Ryder got his ATV to go check. Walking onto the beach Ryder didn't spot much sign of life, entering the lifeguard tower where Zuma's location came from. Ryder quickly spotting Zuma's pup tag laying on the floor, Zuma's surfboard gone. Ryder grabbed the binoculars from the table and ran outside, scanning the water for a sign of Zuma but there was nothing. Ryder sat down, holding his head in his hands, knowing he messed up badly. He sat there for a few moments, thinking of what to do next. He grabbed his pup pad and searched the name Nick Konings on his messaging app, a friend he has been in contact with for a long time. Nick was an adventure bay citizen back then, now he leads a huge rescue group of himself in the Netherlands, where his family lives. "Do you have time to talk?" Ryder messaged to Nick, Nick immediately coming online and responding. "Always." Nick immediately sending a call request, the two go into a call.

'Good early morning mate, how are things going?' Nick said, clearly already wide awake, he trains at 5 am in the morning.

'I really messed up Nick.' Ryder responded, upset with himself.

'What's going on?' Nick replied, wanting to help his mate out.

'I knew something was off with Zuma, but i did nothing, now he has disappeared and i fear the worst.' Ryder vented to his friend.

'He disappeared?' Nick asked, not fully understanding.

'He and his surfboard are gone and he has left his pup tag here.' Ryder explained

'That is not great, but might I ask, since when are you the type to fear the worst of everything?' Nick asked. 'That's not how I know you.'

'I don't know, i mean this is not a great situation.' Ryder responded.

'It is indeed a bad one, but if there is one human with, what's the count now, 12 pups backing you up, It would be you and you know that. Kop op makker!' Nick said in his own language. Trying to motivate Ryder. 'Thats a saying we use here, it's not over until it's over.'

Ryder knew his friend was right, he couldn't give up here. Ryder grabbed his pup pad and called his pups to the beach tower. The pups assembling at the entrance and Marshall making his special entrance as always. The pups run into the tower with their beach outfits and sit down before Ryder, ready for the mission. 'Paw patrol ready for action Ryder sir, ehm except for Zuma sir.' Chase reported.

'Thats right pups, we have a bit of a problem on our hands. Zuma disappeared over night.' Ryder explained, the pups immediately worried for their friend. 'We know that he left with his surfboard somewhere this night, our goal is to find him and bring him back home safely.' All pups nodded, ready to get to the rescue. 'I want all paws on deck for this mission, we must all search a different part of the water. Because i don't know exactly how long it's been i don't know how far he could be.' Ryder explained

'You can count on us Ryder!' Chase said, the other pus nodding in agreement. 'Alright, sea patrol is on a roll!' Ryder exclaimed, starting the basic sea patrol procedure. The sea patrol boat entering sea. 'Alright pups, time to go go go.' Ryder called out. all the pups getting in their boats and going in different directions. 'Robodog, stay around here in case we need you.' Ryder told robodog, the robot replying with two barks as an okay. Ryder exiting the boat himself, searching the empty waters on his ATV.

The sun is at its highest point telling Zuma how long he had now been away for. He felt bad, but he just didn't know what was right or wrong at this point. Zuma finally arrived at land, knowing he still had a lot of walking to do. Besides that, he had no idea if who he was looking for was even at the location Zuma knew about, but he had to try. Zuma looked at his board, thinking about his friends. He pulled his board out of the water, laying it down on dry land in plain sight. Hoping to send the message to his friends he was safely on land. Zuma looked at the rough terrain ahead, this was going to be a long day.

Ryder had returned to the boat and was now searching with the sea patroller. Robodog barked him, Ryder knowing what robodog was trying to communicate. 'Okay pups, return to the sea patroller, time to return home.' Ryder called through his pup pad. 'But what about Zuma?' Rocky said, not wanting to stop the search. 'Searching at night is not smart.' Ryder replied.

'Especially looking for a brown Labrador.' Chase commented through his pup tag.

Everyone returned home, disappointed and worried about their friend, no sign from him or his board anywhere. Ryder knew the more people looking out for him, the better the chances were, so he made the news public.

The morning came and the news blew up, everyone talking about it and people living near the sea looking out for the chocolate Labrador. The team returning to sea to search for their friend. Ryder watching over from the sea patroller. Skye now searching with her helicopter so she doesn't miss things she would miss in her sea patrol jet. She was given permission by the city Hullcreek, a coast city at the other side of the sea, it has lots of rivers and lakes all around. Using her goggles to zoom in, so far nothing. Then she sees something further ahead. Skye zooms in further and it is orange, she got closer and bingo, it's Zuma's board. 'Ryder, i think i've found Zuma's board. On land near Hullcreek.' Skye reported.

Ryder immediately seemed to wake up from his daydreaming. 'Great job Skye, i'm on my way.' Ryder responded, running to his ATV and going towards Skye's location.

Zuma found himself walking with a very beautiful view. High up a hill, the road curving around it, a great view to the waters below. Next to the road, big houses clearly for very rich people. The houses basically hanging over the edge of the hill, a beautiful view of the valley below. Zuma looking at the numbers of the houses, trying to remember which house he had to be at. Then he walked past a house, and he recognized it. From top to bottom, nothing had changed since the last time he was here. Zuma was nervous, he had no idea if they still lived here, if they even knew what was going on. Zuma walked to the door and stood there for a few moments, scared of a wrong outcome. Then he rang the doorbell, it stayed silent for a bit, Zuma getting more nervous. Then Zuma could hear movement, and someone trying to open a door. The door opened, an adult Labrador standing in front of Zuma. It stayed quiet, Zuma not knowing what to say. 'I'm sorry for bothering you.' Zuma said, but before he could continue trying to explain something the Labrador suddenly hugged Zuma. Zuma not knowing how to respond. 'I was so worried about you my boy.' The female Labrador said, separating from the hug. 'Come in.' She said. Zuma following his mom named Daisy into her house. Nothing had changed, the toys Zuma had once played with, the tug of war toy Zuma was once fighting for, all still there. Zuma looked at the backyard swimming pool, everything was the same as it was when Zuma was just born.

'You've really grown son.' Daisy said, trying to start a conversation.

Zuma nodded in response. 'Crazy how some things change so quickly, yet some things never age.' He commented.

'I still have everything because your brother regularly visits, he likes everything the same as it used to be.' Daisy responded.

'Moose still comes here?' Zuma said. 'He is not here now, is he?'

'Don't worry, I know you don't ever want to see him again, he is not here. Found yet another surfing camp to go to.' Daisy said. 'I cannot believe how spoiled he managed to become.'

'He is still spoiled?' Zuma asked. 'I shouldn't be surprised yet I still am.'

'I really messed things up raising him.' Daisy commented. 'But i think we should get to the elephant in the room.'

'Yeah.' Zuma responding, not knowing what else to say.

'I can see you are upset, and i have more then enough time to talk with you and see what I can do. I won't force you to anything, but the paw patrol needs to know that you are safe.' Daisy explained. 'Is it okay if i give them a call, let them know you are safe, and tell them you need some time?'

'Good idea, I didn't mean to make them worry so much, I just didn't know what to do.' Zuma answered.

'Then I'll go do that, i'll be right back okay.' Daisy said, Zuma nodded, and Daisy went to a different room. Zuma went into the backyard and to the backyard fence, able to watch the empty beach and tall waves in the valley. The area was very quiet, only the distant sound of the waves hitting the beach made the area form a nice soundtrack you'd hear in a movie. After watching the beautiful view for a while, he went back inside. His mom already back and grabbing some food from a room in the house. 'You must be hungry after that long trip.' She commented as she gave Zuma a bowl of food. After Zuma finished his food Daisy invited Zuma to sit down.

'So, from what i can see things are pretty messed up for you right now, tell me all about it.' Daisy said, wanting to know what brought her son back here.

Zuma stared to the ground for a while, not knowing what to say, or where to begin. 'I saw on social media you had an injury not long ago.' Daisy said, trying to help Zuma talk.

'Yeah, I had bullies, and they were mad at me.' Zuma said.

'Does that have anything to do with why you are here?' Daisy asked.

Zuma nodded. 'I just, I haven't been the same since then. All I can think about is the bullies and what they were saying, mainly because there is truth in what they said, sometimes.' Zuma said, frustrated with himself.

'You believe certain things they were saying? what kind of things?' Daisy asked, trying to figure out more.

'I basically have no use in this team anymore. All the other pups now have the same knowledge as i have and everyone can now do more than I can since sea patrol became a thing. I'm practically useless.' Zuma explained.

'So you always did water rescues, and now since the other pups can do sea rescues too, you feel like you are no longer needed?' Daisy said, summarizing what she heard.

'Yeah, every pup has something uniques about them, i don't have that anymore. I always tried to tell myself I was still useful. But the more the bullies told me otherwise, and I was left doing nothing whilst others went on rescues day after day. I can't stop thinking it.' Zuma explained.

'That sure is difficult.' Daisy responded.

'Rescues have become so rare that i start messing up the rescues i do get, which isn't helpfull to the team of course. I couldn't even do lifeguarding right last time. I was just messing everything up and standing on other people's way.' Zuma explained.

'You are basically feeding yourself pressure.' Daisy thought out loud.

'You could say that.' Zuma responded.

'Okay, that gives me a very clear picture.' Daisy said. 'Care to join me to do something I know you'll like?' Daisy smiling like she was still a young puppy herself, which she wasn't. Zuma was curious so agreed. The two went outside and Zuma started having flashbacks quickly as the two walked down a narrow forest path which led down the big hill towards the beach. Zuma just seeing himself as a tiny ball of fluff, walking this path with Daisy and a bunch of other tiny balls of fluff, brothers and sisters. Daisy and Zuma got to the beach. Zuma remembering Daisy teaching all the pups how to surf, Moose was the best and liked it to be that way. He would sabotage Zuma so Zuma wouldn't ever be better than Moose. Still Zuma coudn't help but love the place. It's where he learned the basic's of swimming and safety in the sea, everything that led to the good times at the paw patrol, the good time that felt over now.

Daisy grabbed two boards and gave one to Zuma. 'Just like the good old day's, but without your annoying brother.' Daisy said, a big smile appearing on her face, she ran towards the water and got on her board, flowing through the water like a true professional. Zuma couldn't help but smile.

'Come on it's nice and cool.' Daisy exclaimed from the water. Zuma throwing his board in the water and catching up to his mother. 'Let me show you how it's done.' Daisy said as the two saw a wave coming. Daisy turned around and rode the wave as smooth as you could possibly imagine. Zuma surprised by how good she was. 'Our family is born to surf, now show me some of your tricks.' Daisy said with excitement. Zuma saw the next wave coming and prepared himself, the wave came, and Zuma had a bit of trouble staying on his board, his tricks a little rusty. But he didn't fall so that was a positive. 'Not bad, but i know you can do better. Have you ever been what we call the tunnel?' Daisy asked.

'Waves not high enough for that at adventure bay.' Zuma joked back.

'One day, one dyou you're gonna find out how it's like, and you are going to like it.'Daisy said with the biggest smile on her face.

As the sun started to set Daisy and Zuma watched the sun set behind the water and dry themselves off.

'Refreshing isn't it.' Daisy commented, the cool evening breeze drying the dogs off as they walk home.

'It certainly is.' Zuma responded. Enjoying the peace and quiet.

The two got home and went to sleep, both tired from the long day. Zuma woke up the next day, immediately noticing he didn't have a bad nightmare, the night went mostly peaceful.

Zuma spend more and more time surfing, his mind feeling as good as it was before all chaos broke loose. Daisy noticed this and an idea came to her head. It had now been 3 days since Zuma came here, Daisy walking to the beach to meet Zuma. Zuma immediately coming out of the water as Daisy came.

'You really love surfing don't you.'Daisy said with a big smile. 'Might i ask a question, is it true you get deployed for missions even less in winter than in summer?' She asked

'Yeah, winter's are very boring.' Zuma replied back with honesty.

'I might have an idea that might help you get through that boring period better.' Daisy explained. Zuma immediatly interested. of course, he wanted to be able to return home to his friend and being able to have fun without this constantly on his mind, if this works that would be really nice. Zuma followed Daisy home and Daisy showed Zuma a website about an Australian surfing camp. It would be in Januari, lasting about 2 months. It may be winter for adventure bay at that point, but in Australia, it would be in the midst of summer.

'Sounds very interesting.' Zuma commented.

'I really think this might just help you out a little bit, give you a break from the pressure.' Daisy said, scrolling through the website. 'Before we can think about any of that though, you need to start thinking about what you want to do right now. I mean i like having you here, but I know you might just have some friends who might just miss you a little bit.' Daisy explained.

'Yeah, I need to go back I think, i'm just nervous to see Ryder. I mean, I probably gave him a heart attack.' Zuma said.

'You know, I've seen how your team works, and I of course talked to him 3 days ago. As far as I'm concerned, he will be happy enough that you are giving it another chance.' Daisy said. Zuma didn't know what to think. 'I need to do it, and I want to do it, I'm just nervous for that moment.' Zuma explained

'That is fully understandable Zuma, being nervous is a natural thing.' Diasy reassured. 'You are going to be alright. With something to distract you and the others giving you the right help you need, I know it will be alright, it's a mother's instinct.'

Zuma smiled. 'Then we should do that.' He commented.

The next day he sat in the living room nervously waiting, Ryder would be coming today, Zuma could barely hold his nerves. The doorbell had gone off multiple times, but they were just some deliveries Daisy's owner needed. Suddenly the doorbell went off again. Zuma could feel it, this was the one. Nervously he waited in his chair as Daisy opened the door. Then Daisy called Zuma's name, Zuma nervously walking to the door. There he was, sitting on the stone ground to be more on a pups level. Zuma didn't want to look at Ryder. But as he smelled Ryder, the smell that told Zuma he had been working on his ATV again, and the other dogs. Zuma felt right back at home and hugged Ryder, Ryder hugging back. 'I'm sorry.' Zuma said, feeling really bad as he felt the relief in Ryder. 'That was forgiven a long time ago.' Ryder responded. Daisy smiling as she was happy everything seemed well.

'You forgot this.' Ryder joked, giving Zuma his pup tag back.

Zuma smiled as he put his pup tag back where it belonged.

'What do you wanna do buddy.'Ryder asked, leaving the choice to Zuma.

'I just want to go home to be honest.' Zuma said with a smile.

'Sounds like a plan. Thanks for taking good care of him.' Ryder said, looking at Daisy.

'No problem.' Daisy said. 'Happy I could help.'

Zuma ran to Daisy and gave her a final hug. 'Thank you.' Zuma said, before letting go and joining Ryder, walking away from the house, further up the mountain where the air patroller was parked. Zuma and Ryder went back home, Zuma reuniting with the pups. Night fell quickly and everyone had a good night sleep together, sleeping outside under the stars. The next day Zuma and Ryder made a plan and got to realizing it. Making sure Zuma would be able to go to that surfing camp and do his schoolwork there for the two months he would be away. Ryder got to work and invested more time in learning how to deal with a situation like Zuma's, with some help from his friend Nick. Peace returned to the paw patrol, now Zuma just had to wait for the surfing camp starting in more than half a year. Surfing stories, here we come.

Zuma's adventures will continue soon
