Recently, Sakura joined the ranks of ANBU and was assigned to none other than her friend and now ex-teammate Sasuke Uchiha's older brother's team—Itachi Uchiha. He was an enigma—gorgeous, unapproachable, emotionless, and scary, or so Sakura thought. As she got to know him, she realized that Itachi was nothing like her initial impression. Except for the gorgeous part—he was exceptionally gorgeous.

Things were going smoothly for Sakura. She bonded with her team, consisting of Shisui Uchiha, Neji Hyuga, and Itachi, their captain. It took a while for her to adjust, but once she got to know her new teammates, things became easier. They collaborated seamlessly. Neji was smart, always calm, cool and collected which was refreshing compared to her previous team. Even though Shisui often got on her nerves with his non-stop flirting and incredibly outgoing personality, he reminded her of Naruto and that brought a smile to her face.

"Hey, Haruno, what's on your mind? You seem like you're in another world," a voice interrupted her daydreams.

Shisui stood over Sakura, blocking the sun. His curly brown hair was in disarray and he wore a wide grin on his face.

"Sorry, Shisui. I just got lost in my thoughts."

"I'm honestly surprised you aren't held up in the hospital. That's usually where you are."

"Lady Tsunade demanded I take a break from my shifts, she thinks I'm overworking myself."

He smirked down at her. "Aren't we all? Speaking of overworking ourselves. Captain wants us to meet at the usual spot. We have a mission."

Sakura hastily grabbed her stuff and started dashing towards her house.

"I'm going to pack a bag! I'll meet you there!" she yelled back towards Shisui not caring to hear his response as she hurried home.

The recent missions Sakura and the rest of her team undertook had been nothing short of intense. They always managed to accomplish their objectives, but she couldn't shake off the heightened tension and unease she felt after each mission. This last one was no exception.

"Haruno, let me walk you home," her dark-haired captain offered.

"Okay," Sakura replied as she awkwardly said goodbye to her other teammates.

The pair strolled together through the bustling streets of Konoha, making their way to Sakura's house.

"Would you like to come in, Uchiha-san?" Sakura asked, a mischievous smirk playing on her lips, fully aware of his inevitable response.

"How many times do I need to tell you to call me Itachi when we aren't on a mission?"

"Right, Itachi," she paused "…Would you like to come in?" Sakura asked seductively.

Before she could even blink, she found herself pressed against her living room wall, engaged in a passionate and intoxicating kiss. His hands held both sides of her face as he tasted her. She was pinned to him and she could feel the outlines of his hard body against hers. Their encounters like this had become a common occurrence lately, happening after any particularly demanding or lengthy mission. Somehow, the two of them always ended up together, their bodies intertwined.

With Itachi's hands exploring her body and his lips leaving scorching trails on her neck and ears, Sakura could hardly think straight.

"Itachi, bedroom," Sakura breathed out.

Without hesitation, Itachi scooped her up in his arms and carried her to her room. Placing her gently on the bed, he descended upon her, his lips returning to explore hers with renewed fervor.

She could taste the mint tea he likes to drink on his lips. She melted into his mouth enjoying the flavor. He pulled her impossibly closer to him and she felt his hands trace up her side. His hand slipped under her shirt and she shivered at the feeling of him tracing up and down her body.

He pulled her shirt over her head and immediately discarded his as well throwing them both across the room without a care.

She could hear a groan deep in his throat as she wiggled out of her pants.

Sakura found herself lost in the intensity of their connection, a familiar sensation that always consumed her. The beginning of it all was a blur, but it had undeniably taken hold. Itachi's lips roamed her body, trailing kisses down her stomach and over her thighs.

"Say my name."

"Itachi," Sakura moaned. She could sense his smirk against her thigh as he hovered below the place she yearned for his touch the most.

"Stop teasing me," she groaned.

"Hn."

Sakura let out another groan. This was going to be a long night.

Sakura awoke in her bed, stirred by the movements of someone nearby. Looking up, she saw Itachi getting dressed, preparing to leave. "Are you going somewhere?"

"Home."

"Oh... You know, you can stay here if you want. It's late," she offered in the vain hopes he would choose to spend the night.

"Thank you, Maybe next time," he said. He collected his belongings and walked out of the bedroom.

A wave of emptiness washed over Sakura as she felt the coldness in his words. Itachi was not one for relationships or emotions, and she was aware of that. So why did she feel so disappointed he didn't want to stay and hold her? She let out a sigh, attributing her emotions to mere loneliness. That's all it was, she tried to convince herself.

The following morning, Sakura met her team at the training grounds. As she approached, she noticed Shisui and Neji engaged in conversation. "Hey, guys," Sakura called out, trying to appear casual.

Shisui turned around, with a smile on his face and a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Hey, Haruno! Did you sleep well?"

What was that expression? Could he possibly know? Sakura wondered, feeling a twinge of anxiety.

She shook her head to clear it. "I slept just fine. Thanks for asking."

"Good," Itachi replied from behind her. "We're going to extend our training today."

"What? Come on, I have stuff to do today," groaned Shisui.

Itachi glared at him.

"Fine, sorry. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something?" Shisui asked.

Itachi ignored him and walked over to start training. The rest of his team trailed behind.

While training, Sakura couldn't help but notice Itachi's tension. Was it because of her? she wondered. He did leave abruptly last night, and maybe her request for him to stay had crossed some unspoken boundaries between them.

Once they finished training, Sakura wiped the sweat and dirt off herself with a rag and approached Itachi.

"Are you alright?" she asked him softly, so the others wouldn't hear.

"Yes, why wouldn't I be alright?"

"Well, I wasn't sure if what I asked you last night upset you. You seem pretty tense today."

"No."

"No? Is that all?"

"Yes. What do you want me to say? It has nothing to do with you, Sakura. Back off," he gritted out then walked away.

What? Who does he think he is, talking to her like that? Sakura was fumed. She stomped over to Shisui and Neji.

"Alcohol. Now," she said, pointing to both of them.

"Sakura, it's lunchtime," Neji replied.

"When has that ever stopped us before? I'm in." Shisui said enthusiastically.

"Count me out, I have things to do," Neji said walking away.

"Let's get to it," said Shisui, pulling on Sakura's hand and leading her towards the town.

"What's on your mind, Sak?" asked Shisui, taking his seventh shot of whisky.

"What makes you think something is on my mind?"

"Because you're brooding, that's Itachi's thing, not yours. So what's up?"

Sakura sighed. "I don't know what I'm doing, Shisui."

"Regarding?" he asked.

"I can't tell you, and before you ask, no, I really can't tell you. I just feel so confused, and I honestly don't know what to do."

"Well, not knowing the situation, I'm not sure how much I can help. But I will say this: you are a smart girl, Sakura. You're kind and beautiful and generous, and you keep me out of a lot of trouble. You have a more rational head on your shoulders than our entire team combined. Whatever it is that is bothering you, I'm sure you can handle it." He smiled at her.

"Thank you, Shisui." Sakura blushed, Shisui held her gaze for a long moment.

All levity vanished from his face as he watched the bar-room door. He slowly turned his attention back to her. "Sakura..."

"What?"

"The Uchiha clan, how we run things... just be careful."

"What are you even talking about?" she asked.

"Itachi," he said, and Sakura froze.

"You're playing a dangerous game."

"I... I don't know what you mean," she replied.

"Listen, we don't have to discuss it, but please, just be careful. Promise me," he begged.

"Okay, I promise."

"Let me walk you home," Shisui said, looping his arm through hers and leading her out the door.

As Sakura prepared for bed, she heard the sound of her front door opening. Peeking around the corner, she spotted Itachi patiently standing in her living room.

"What do you want?" she asked, taken aback.

"I'm sorry," he replied sincerely.

Sakura looked at him, surprised by his unexpected apology.

"Listen, I didn't mean to speak to you like that earlier. I was upset about something else, and I unfairly took it out on you. I deeply regret my actions," he explained, his eyes filled with remorse.

She observed Itachi for a moment, noticing a different side of him. In that moment, he seemed vulnerable and fragile.

"Would you like to talk about it?" she asked.

Itachi sighed. "It's just some clan matters. The burden of being the heir, I suppose," he said, frowning.

Sakura walked over to her kitchen and retrieved the cup of chamomile tea she had prepared for herself. Returning to Itachi, she extended the cup towards him.

"Here, it'll help you relax," she kindly offered.

A small smile appeared on Itachi's face. "Thank you, Sakura," he expressed. For a moment, she was sure he wouldn't say anything further as he stared into the steaming mug in his hand. His footsteps echoed across the floor as he followed her into her living room.

The pair settled on the couch, enjoying a peaceful silence while Itachi sipped his tea. Sakura took the opportunity to observe Itachi closely, tracing the contours of his face with her eyes. There was an indescribable intensity when he lifted his gaze to meet hers. In the next instant, their lips met in a passionate kiss, their mutual desire taking over. His mouth was hot on hers. He wrapped his hand around her thigh and was gripping it so hard it was almost painful. He kissed her with tender slowness. His tongue explored the depths of her mouth, claiming dominance.

Sakura couldn't help but moan, captivated by his sinful kisses. He lavished attention on her neck, shoulders, and down her arms, leaving her longing for more. It felt different, unlike anything she had experienced before, but she couldn't quite place it.
She felt like lava was coursing through her veins as he touched her. She was on fire, every touch, every kiss was sending pulses of pleasure through her.

Carrying her in his arms, Itachi gently laid Sakura on her bed. "You are so beautiful," he whispered, causing her cheeks to flush.
Itachi continued to worship every inch of Sakura's body, kissing, sucking, and stroking her skin, driving her to the brink of insanity.

"Please, Itachi, I need..." she pleaded.

"I understand what you need, Sakura. Be patient," he reassured, his voice filled with a mix of desire and tenderness.

The pleasure Itachi brought her was indescribable; it felt almost magical. She found herself completely captivated by him, as usual.

"Allow me to take care of you," he said smoothly.

The way Itachi held her, the tenderness of his kisses, and the way their bodies responded to each other—it was more than mere physicality. This felt like something deeper, something beyond the realm of purely sex.

The rest of the night overflowed with sensations she had never experienced before. They indulged in each other until Sakura drifted off to sleep, embraced by his strong arms.

As expected, the next morning began with the sweet sound of birds chirping and the gentle glow of sunlight streaming through the window. However, what Sakura hadn't expected was the warmth enveloping her body and the enticing scent of sandalwood and musk permeating her senses.

Itachi stirred beside her.

She rolled over to look at him, and to her surprise, his eyes were wide open, gazing at her intensely. "Oh, it seems we must have fallen asleep," Sakura remarked, breaking the silence.

"Hn," Itachi replied. He calmly got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom. He shut the door behind him, leaving Sakura alone with her thoughts.

She couldn't help but feel a sense of awkwardness. They had never spent the night together before, she was unsure of what to do next. Should they high-five? Sakura groaned and rolled back into bed, feeling a mix of confusion and uncertainty.

Itachi emerged from the bathroom and glanced at Sakura. "We have a mission later today. I expect you to be at our meeting spot on time. Do not be late," he stated coldly, before leaving the room.

"What's with this guy?" Sakura wondered, her mind swirling with questions. One minute he was intimately close, and the next he was distant, as if their moment of love making had never happened. It was all perplexing.

Determined to put the confusing encounter aside, Sakura got out of bed and began preparing for her upcoming mission. She packed a bag with essential supplies and spare clothes, grabbed a quick breakfast from her kitchen, and headed out.

As the team trained and carried out their mission, tensions rose. During a particularly intense moment, Itachi turned his frustration towards Sakura.

"Haruno, how many times do I need to remind you to pay attention? How do you expect this team to function if you're not pulling your weight?!" he angrily exclaimed.

"Captain, I have been giving my all! This mission is no different! I wasn't hit by that jutsu because I wasn't paying attention. I took the blow to protect my comrade!" Sakura retorted, gesturing towards Neji, who avoided making eye contact.

"Regardless, your carelessness allowed it to happen. Consider yourself lucky I'm not benching you," Itachi responded, his tone icy and detached.

"Bench me? Are you kidding me? I'm being reprimanded for taking care of my team! I'm a damn medic!" Sakura shouted.

"Do not raise your voice at me again, Sakura. I am your captain," Itachi declared, walking away without another word.

Fuming with indignation, Sakura couldn't comprehend why she was being treated this way. She was just doing her job, protecting her teammates and even healing herself afterward. It shouldn't be such a big deal, she thought, feeling a mix of anger and confusion.

After traveling for a while, the team passed an inn with a bar attached to it. Sensing the need for rest, Shisui suggested, "Captain, we should stop here for the night."

"Very well. I will secure the rooms. You guys can head to the bar and grab some food," Itachi said.

Sakura went straight to the bar, ordering a bottle of sake for herself. Shisui joined her and asked, "Are you alright?"

"What the hell is his problem?" Sakura exclaimed angrily. Shisui was taken aback by her outburst and straightened in his seat.

"I don't know, Sakura. Maybe he's just stressed. Try not to take it personally."

"How can I not? He humiliated me in front of our team. And for what? Protecting you guys? Why should that warrant a scolding?"

"Maybe he was just upset because you were in danger," Shisui offered as a possible explanation.

"What?" Sakura stared at him for a moment, then glanced over at Itachi, who was seated at the other end of the bar.

"He cares about you," Shisui stated.

Sakura scoffed at the scene before her.

"Oh, really? Looks like he cares so much," she replied sarcastically.

Following Sakura's gaze, Shisui discovered the source of her distress. Itachi was sitting at the bar with a woman—a beautiful woman with long brown hair, big brown eyes, and red lipstick adorning her lips. She was affectionately kissing his neck, his ears, and the side of his face. Itachi didn't seem bothered at all.

Sakura felt a wave of sickness wash over her. They weren't in a relationship, so why was she feeling so jealous that Itachi was giving another woman his attention? He had made it clear with his inconsistent behavior that he was only interested in sex with her.

"Sakura, I... I don't know why..." Shisui stuttered, struggling to find the right words.

"Save it. I'm going back to my room,"

Sakura declared, storming out of the bar.

Around twenty minutes later, there was a knock on Sakura's door. When she opened it, she found herself face to face with Itachi.

"What do you want, Itachi?" Sakura spat, the alcohol coursing through her system causing her to be less concerned about manners.

"You disappeared. Are you alright?" he asked softly.

"What? Why do you care? Don't you have some brunette to hook up with? Leave me alone."

"Are you jealous?" he said, smirking.

His smirk only fueled her anger. How could he find this situation amusing?

"No, actually. And while we're on the topic, I wanted to let you know that I'm done." Sakura stated firmly.

"Done? Done with what?"

"You. This... us," Sakura replied, avoiding eye contact. Her voice full of sadness.

Itachi stiffened, standing there for a moment as he looked at her.

"Why?" he asked quietly.

"Because, Itachi. This isn't who I am. It has never been me! I'm supposed to be in touch with my emotions, and I'm not made for emotionless hookups with you of all people."

"Sakura... I..." Itachi began, searching for words.

"No. I don't want to hear it. I'm done. Please leave me alone," Sakura said firmly, shutting the door in his face.

She collapsed onto her bed and began to cry. She cried until she had no tears left, feeling her heart shattering into a million pieces. This was exactly what she had wanted to avoid. How could she have been so foolish? She pulled the covers over her head and forced herself to sleep.

Two months had passed since Sakura was last intimate with Itachi. They remained on the same team, but their interactions were strictly professional. They only spoke when necessary for the mission. The current mission they were on their way back from had exhausted Sakura more than usual. It seemed strange to her. She didn't feel like she had overexerted herself, yet she was overwhelmed with exhaustion and now sudden…violent nausea.

Sakura had to stop. She veered off course and halted behind a massive tree in the forest. The nausea overwhelmed her, and she vomited profusely and fell to the ground. What could be wrong with her? Sakura quickly conducted a self-examination, and what she discovered caused her to freeze in shock. How could she have missed this? She was a skilled medic—there was no way such an important detail could slip past her. True, she hadn't been taking care of herself properly in recent months, but could something of this magnitude really escape her attention? Sakura's mind raced at lightning speed when a voice interrupted her inner panic attack.

"Sakura, are you alright?" Itachi appeared, breaking her train of thought.

"Yes, I'm fine. I'm sorry, Captain. I'm just feeling incredibly exhausted," Sakura replied.

"You know your limits better than any of us. Why is it this severe?" he inquired.

"I must have pushed myself too hard. I apologize, Captain. I'll be alright; I just need some rest. Let's head back," Sakura assured him.

Itachi didn't seem convinced. He approached her and extended his hand to help her up.

"Alright, but inform me if it becomes too much. I'll carry you," he offered.

Sakura flinched. "Thank you, Captain, but I can manage on my own," she insisted.

"I never doubted that," he replied.

After reporting to the Hokage, Sakura rushed home faster than she ever had before. She immediately went to the bathroom to take the test. Was it necessary, considering her expertise as a medic? No, but she needed to see the results with her own eyes.

Sakura sat there for a while, her gaze fixated on the test. The world seemed to close in around her, and a forceful sob escaped her lips, shattering the dam of her emotions. Sakura wailed uncontrollably, unable to contain the tears that streamed down her face. Her entire body shook with anguish. Time slipped away from her as she remained lost in her despair, but suddenly, a knock on the bathroom door disrupted her turmoil.

"Forehead, what's going on in there?" Ino asked from the other side of the door.

"Oh no, anyone but her, please," Sakura thought, dreading the intrusion.

"Forehead, I know you're in there. I can hear you crying. Please, open the door," Ino pleaded.

Summoning the last ounce of strength she had left, Sakura rose from the floor and opened the bathroom door. Before her stood her best friend, Ino Yamanaka, wearing a concerned expression. The moment Sakura laid eyes on Ino, all her emotions flooded back, and she crumbled into her friend's arms.

"Pig... I've really messed up," Sakura cried out as she collapsed onto the ground, seeking solace in Ino's embrace.

"Shhh, hey, tell me what's going on. I'm right here with you," Ino assured her, trying to soothe her distress.

Sakura looked into Ino's caring eyes. Should she confide in her? She hadn't even decided what she wanted to do about it yet. With a heavy sigh, Sakura mustered the courage to speak.

"Ino... I'm pregnant," she whispered softly.

"What?! What do you mean you're pregnant? Forehead, who have you been having sex with?" Ino exclaimed loudly, unable to contain her shock.

"Ino! Thanks to you, the whole village knows now! Please, be quiet," Sakura pleaded.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. But seriously, Sakura, how did this happen? I didn't even know you were seeing anyone," she said quietly.

"I'm not. Well, not anymore. And it wasn't like that...it was just...I don't know what it was." she said, slumping her shoulders.

"Stress relief?" asked Ino.

"Yes, that's it. It was stress relief," replied Sakura.

"Well, I can't say I haven't been there, but I've always used protection to avoid this very thing. What happened there?" Ino asked as she started to stroke Sakuras hair in a comforting way.

"We did. I used a contraceptive jutsu to avoid pregnancy. I don't know how this happened, Pig," Sakura whined.

"What are you going to do? Are you going to keep it?"

"I don't know. This is such a messed up situation. His clan is going to freak out if they find out," Sakura said.

Ino visibly tensed.

"Wait... clan? Sakura, who is it?" Ino asked seriously.

Sakura was silent for a few moments as she looked at her friend. She sighed.

"Ino, you can't tell anyone. This is serious. Please don't freak," she begged pulling on her friend's arm.

"Of course I won't! What kind of friend do you think I am?"

"Itachi," was all Sakura said, avoiding eye contact with her friend.

"WHAT?! Itachi Uchiha? The clan heir? Your captain? Sakura Haruno, are you out of your damn mind?" Ino yelled throwing her arms up causing Sakura to fall backwards.

"Ino!" Sakura hissed.

"You said you wouldn't freak out!"

"I'm sorry, Sakura, but seriously? Itachi? I know he's one of the sexiest men in the village, but he's your captain. I didn't think you could be so scandalous," she teased.

"I don't know, Ino. It just kind of happened... and then kept happening. What do I do, pig? You know how the Uchiha clan is. I'm screwed," she groaned.

"You need to tell Itachi,"

"I can't. We had a falling out. I don't know how he'll react to this."

"It doesn't matter. He deserves to know, Sakura. That's his kid too," Ino said.

"I know... I'm scared," Sakura said softly.

"Everything will work out. I'm gonna be here for you no matter what happens, okay?"

Sakura smiled at her. "Thank you, Pig. You know I love you, right?" she said, wrapping her arms around her.

"Of course I do. What's not to love about me?" Ino said, hugging her back.

Itachi walked towards the training grounds with his cousin beside him. He looked over to their spot to see Neji sitting there alone.

"Hyuga, where is Haruno?" he asked.

"She sent a message saying she wasn't going to make it today. She said she's not feeling well," Neji frowned.

"Not feeling well? She's a medic. What could have her skipping training? Should we go check on her?" Shisui asked, concerned.

Itachi thought back to his last encounter with Sakura. She was sick coming home from their last mission, but she passed it off as chakra exhaustion. He didn't believe her then, and now it'd been a whole day since that mission. Sakura should be well-rested by now. Something was up, and Itachi felt anxiety bubbling in his stomach at the thought of something being wrong with her.

"No. We will finish our training today, then I will go to her place and check on her afterward. No need to overwhelm her with the whole team if she's not feeling well," Itachi said.

Itachi knew he messed up with her. The relationship between them spiraled so out of control. Itachi didn't know how to handle it. He tried to push her away, he tried to entertain other women, and nothing worked. She told him to leave her alone, and that's exactly what he's done since. But nothing he's done has been able to fill the hole that she left in his chest. He knew he loved her, but his clan would never approve.

He wished more than anything that he was just a normal guy, that he could take Sakura on a date and treat her the way she deserves without old, backward opinions from the elders breathing down his neck. Itachi wanted to say to hell with all of them, but he couldn't do that to Sasuke. So instead, he suffers. This training can't go by fast enough, he thought.

Sakura paced anxiously across her house, her mind racing and her heart pounding. How was she going to tell Itachi? What would his reaction be? She felt overwhelming fear.

Suddenly, a knock on her front door caught her attention. Sakura opened the door to find Itachi standing there, worry evident in his eyes.

"What's going on, Sakura?" he asked, pushing his way into her house.

"Itachi, excuse me, but you don't live here! I didn't invite you in!" Sakura exclaimed.

"Why didn't you show up for training? Neji said you weren't feeling well, but you seem fine," he inquired, his gaze fixed on her.

"I'm not well. We need to talk," she said seriously.

"What is it? You can tell me," he said softly, a glimmer of the same affectionate look they shared that night appearing in his eyes.

She took a deep breath. Here goes nothing.

"I'm... I'm pregnant," she said, tears welling up in her eyes.

Itachi stood still, his silence unnerving her.

"Itachi?" Sakura tried, her voice filled with expectation. "Aren't you going to say anything?"

"Do you plan to keep it?" he asked, his tone cold and detached.

"I haven't decided yet. I wanted to talk to you first...What do you think we should do?" she asked.

"Get rid of it. Do you even understand what will happen if the Uchiha elders find out about this? They don't want our blood mixing outside the clan, Sakura. They will take care of you."

"Take care of me? What the hell does that mean? They wouldn't kill me, Itachi! I'm the Hokage's apprentice. Do you realize the war that would ensue if that happened?"

Itachi sighed. "They have other ways to deal with you. They will ruin your life, tarnish your reputation, and strip you of your status as a kunoichi. I've witnessed it before; they will cast you aside."

"I'm not some weak little girl, Itachi. I can handle myself. If you don't want to be a part of this child's life because you doubt my capabilities, then I don't want my child to know you. Or knowing what a coward their father is." she spat.

"Understood."

He was gone, like he vanished into thin air leaving her alone.

She fell to the ground, all of her pain, sadness, and anger just flowing out of her. She felt like her whole body was on fire and she started to hyperventilate on the floor. Everything around her was spinning, she needed to calm down or she was going to pass out. She forced herself up into a sitting position against the wall and took slow deep breaths in and out repeatedly. She felt like screaming and crying but at the same time, she wanted to punch and break things.

How did it get this messed up? Is this really what she was going to do? Raise a child on her own, a child that will inherit one of the most feared kekkei genkei out there. The thought alone was making her feel like throwing up again.

She put her hand on her stomach, rubbing small circles on her flat abdomen. She imagined herself years from now chasing around a small black haired child laughing and happy. She also imagined a father, fit with long black hair picking up the child and swinging them around in the air while she cooked dinner for the small family. The thought made her sigh.

"What a joke."

It had been three days since she last saw Itachi. She half expected to have the whole lot of the Uchiha clan banging on her doorstep by now, but it had been eerily quiet on that front.

She heard a knock on her door so she walked over to the front and opened it to be met with the same set of eyes that have been haunting her dreams as of late.

"Sakura."

She tried to slam the door but he stuck his foot in the way so she couldn't.

"I don't want to talk to you," she said angrily as she walked away from the front door into her house.

"I was wrong," she heard him say as he walked uninvited into her home.

"What?"

"I thought there was nothing I could do against my clan. I was wrong, you don't need to worry about them anymore."

She crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him warily.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

He took a few steps closer to her. She instinctively stepped back.

"I went to see the Hokage. I filed some paperwork, I am no longer the heir to the Uchiha clan. I have broken all ties to them except for blood. You and this child are more important than them."

That familiar feeling of nausea was bubbling in her stomach. She stared at him with wide eyes. "What?"

"I will be moving my stuff out of the district later today, please make some room."

If her jaw wasn't attached to her face she swears it would've hit the floor.

"Excuse me? What do you mean make some room? You can't be expecting to move here?"

"Of course, I will be moving here. We are having a child are we not? We need to start preparing immediately."

"Itachi, this is crazy. Normal people get married or at least go out for a while before moving in together!" She threw her arms up in exasperation.

"We aren't normal, are we? That reminds me, I also spoke to the Hokage about that. Please make sure you acquire a white dress by next week."

"HUH? You cannot mean…What about my family? My father! There are things that have to be done before just getting hitched!"

"I already spoke to your father. He gave his blessing."

She stood there and stared at him with a look on her face that vaguely resembled the first time she saw Naruto down nine bowls of ramen in one sitting.

"Is this really what you want?" she asked.

"Yes. I apologize I haven't been there for you. I will make sure that never happens again."

She approached him then and took his hands into hers. They stood there for a while in comfortable silence just holding each other.

"You better go get your stuff then." She smiled at him.

He looked down at her with a matching smile.

"Understood."
