Kim Possible: Path of the Shinobi
So the Drama was a changing point in the lives of Ron Stoppable and Kim Possible. But what if the night played out differently than before? What if Eric was never revealed, Drakken was stopped by the Sidekick and the world never knew? This is the story of Ron's Path of the Shinobi.
(A rework of Rise of the Unstoppable fic. Enjoy)
Chapter I: Prom Night Drama Night
Ron Stoppable's eyes were locked up at the ceiling of his bedroom as he gazed with a look of depression and regret, as he recounted what had to be the worst week of his life. First, Bueno Nacho had totally changed with adding kiddy menus and playgrounds. It was Prom Night and he had no one to go with, no girl at school wanted to go out with, as Bonnie says, a loser like him. He had a chance with Tara, but he blew that bridge up thanks to his oblivious nature. And to top it all off, a new boy comes to school, Eric Langshaw the 'Golden Boy', and starts dating his best friend and world-renowned Heroine Kim Possible.
Ever since then Kim has been so distracted by him that she rarely even hung out anymore. She'd spent all her time with 'Golden Boy' that he just seemed to disappear from her mind altogether.
Eric, boy he hated that name. More so than he did Josh Mankey, who turned out to be an awesome dude once he got to know him. But this Eric guy just rubbed him the wrong way…But he made Kim happy, and as much as he hated that guy, her happiness was more important to him than some guy. But it did make him wonder...
"What am I doing Rufus?" he asked the naked mole-rat that was staring at him with concern. "Ever since Eric showed up, my whole world has been thrown upside down. Bueno Nachos totally changed, everyone is telling me to grow up more than usual and I feel like I have no place in anyone's life anymore. Normally I'd have Kim to help me, but with her and Eric dating...where do I fit?"
Rufus only groaned, having no real answer for his human master.
He had been a total mess ever since Eric came to town and all these other things that happened to him. He knew that he should try and help, but honestly, what could he do? He was just a naked Mole-Rat. He gestured to the game controller, in an attempt to cheer him up, but Ron shook his head.
"Sorry bud, but I'm just not in the mood for Games…" he said as he turned over and stared out the window, looking out at the night sky.
Ron sighed as he thought about what he should do. He could go hang out at the Possible house, but then he'd probably run into Eric there and there was no way he wanted to be around for that. Prom was definitely a no-go, he had no date and refused to be ammunition for Bonnie's mockery. Not to mention he didn't want to see Kim and Eric being all 'Lovey Dovey'. Blargh. There was still Beuno Nacho, but that place was a shell of what it used to be.
"I think...I think I need to go for a walk," he said to himself as he got up and out of his Prom Suit and into his normal slacks. Rufus was about to jump into his pocket when Ron held his hand up.
"No, you stay here little buddy, no need to drag you down with my mood. I need some time alone…I'll be back later" he said as the mole-rat moaned but nodded. Ron walked out of his house as he took a moment to stare up at the night sky, and released a solemn breath.
"Well...at least the moon is pretty cool. At least this night can't get any worse?" he said to himself as he walked away.
Bueno Nacho's Headquarters
Large monitors displayed statistics of the entire world, as Dr Drew Lipsky Drakken smiled at his plan slowly coming to fruition. Months of planning were finally falling into place, as he had everything set for his ultimate victory.
"Ah~...you smell that Shego? That is the smell of ultimate victory, as my greatest plan finally comes to fruition!" he said to his sidekick, partner, as the green-skinned villainess sat in her chair filing her nails.
"I will admit, so far I can't quite figure it all out, but it does seem like this plan might work. So long as Kimmie-cub doesn't find out about it. Speaking of which, how are you keeping Possible from finding out about this?" she questioned, still not fully grasping the whole plan.
"Oh let's just say, I have my best...Man on the job," he chuckled to himself as he brought up the monitors, showing Kim Possible dancing at the Prom. "I also had these installed just in case. See Shego, I'm learning." he gloated as Shego just rolled her eyes. "From here, I can watch Kim Possible's entire Prom Night experience, and instantly will be notified the moment she leaves the dance. With her distracted my plan is foolproof."
"Yeah, speaking of fools, what about the Sidekick?" she asked as he raised an eyebrow.
"Who?"
"Ron Stoppable, Kim Possible's dopey sidekick." she received a blank stare. "You know...the guy that always follows her around?"
"So? He's not even a threat...whatever his name is," he said as he turned back to the monitors.
"Normally true, but...you do have to admit, there have been multiple times when your plan might have succeeded if her little boy toy didn't warn her, or accidentally break off vital components of your machines, or even that one time he managed to hold off me and Kimmie when we were under mind control...something I still do not like," she said with a slight glare as her hand glowed.
Drakken gulped and held up his hands in surrender.
"Y-Yes, and once again, I apologised enough for that incident and have learned my lesson about mind control...but you do have a point, this...whoever he is, always manages to warn Kim Possible at the worst time to thwart my schemes...maybe it would be wise if we remove him from the board," he thought as he switched monitors to find Ron Stoppable, locating him walking alone in the park.
"Aha! There he is, Synthodrone! Prepare to-!" he was about to command when Shego placed a finger on his lips.
"Hold it!" Shego interrupted him as he turned to her.
"What is it now, Shego?" he managed to say with her finger on his lips.
"You can't just abduct him like that, Kimmie somehow has a way to locate him thanks to her tech boy," she advised as she looked over and pondered. "She must have a tracking device on him, we need to play this smart…" she said as Drakken grumbled.
"Don't worry by the time any of them realise that he's missing, it will be too late. As for any tracking devices," he typed up some codes. "I had the boys in the lab whip up this scrambling device, to mask our location. We can use it to send a false signal from any tracking device implanted after we remove it from...seriously what's his name?"
Shego ran a hand over her face. "Stoppable...seriously you really need to remember his name," she said as Drakken shrugged.
"Doesn't matter, in the end…" he smirked as he sent his Synthodrones out. "No one will care."
Middleton Park
Ron had spent the last hour or so wandering around Middleton, trying to get his mind straight. But no matter how hard he tried, his mind still kept going back to Kim and the time they had together. He had passed all sorts of spots that brought back memories for him. The Pre-K where he met Kim, the Mansion where they got their first mission and to the playground where they swore they would be best friends forever. He even passed by the school as the lights shone through the gymnasium windows, and the sound of music could be heard. A part of him was tempted to go inside, just to see what Kim was wearing.
But he knew if he did, he'd do something stupid.
So he walked away, heart even heavier than before until he made it to the park and sat on the bench in front of the large mural that Josh and Kim had stopped at on their date. A date Kim risked to go on while he ventured into an Amazon Jungle to find a rare flower to stop her from disappearing from the face of the earth.
At the time it bugged him how she could risk her own safety to date some dream boy. But the smile on her face was enough to make him happy.
"At least she had a good time…" he told himself as he sat on the bench and sighed. His mind soon wandered back to Kim and Eric as he could only imagine the time of their lives they were having at the Prom.
He bet whatever she was wearing, she'd look amazing. Her hair would be tied up in that ponytail that'd make him gitty, that smile she'd make that made his heart flutter...she'd look so beautiful...and she'd be showing it all to Eric…
Ron placed his hands over his face as he groaned.
"...What is going on with me? I've never felt this way before, not even when Kim was dating Josh, but then suddenly Eric~" He mocked with a high voice, "Comes into town, and suddenly I can't stand seeing them together! It just makes me want to-to hit that guy right in his pretty-boy face!" he swung his fist in the air. Before he stopped and sighed.
"But then Kim would get mad at me, and I can't do that to her, she's my best friend and she deserves to be happy...that's what friends do, right?" he asked himself, much to his own dismay.
"So she's hanging out with him more, it's not like she's going to replace me with him...right? But then again...why wouldn't she? Eric's got all the great qualities in a better partner than I ever will. Looks, personality, a kick-ass motorcycle while I got a dinky little scooter. I bet he would do even better on missions than me...and what do I have? An erratic fear of Monkeys, Bugs, and practically anything that wants to kill me. While all I do is distract the bad guy, and run around like a headless chicken. I've got a lazy attitude and the mindset of a child! GAH! I'm surprised she didn't leave me in the dust long ago!" he groaned to himself as he hung his head.
"...What the hell am I doing with my life? All I've ever known is being by Kim's side, through thick and thin, we've had each other's backs. But now with Eric in the picture...what's left for me?"
"I don't know about your teen drama, but I can tell you one thing, sidekick…"
Ron snapped around to the voice, as Shego's hands glowed with her emerald plasma. "You are not going to like what comes next..." she smirked.
"Shego!" he yelled, jumping from his seat. "What are-Gah!" he was suddenly shocked from behind as several synthodrones surrounded him and tazed him. "Uh…" he slurred as he fell to the ground, body numb from the electrical spike.
"Okay, we got two minutes. Find that chip." She instructed the Drones as one pulled out a scanner and held it over the boy's body. The small device went off as it found a small microchip embedded in Ron's right shoulder.
"There you are, no wonder Kimmy's always able to find you. Likes to keep her pet nice and chipped...hand me the device." She ordered as his shirt was pulled down and a suction-like cup device was placed on his flesh.
The device scanned the microchip, copied it into a similar chip, before extracting the probe from his body with a small groan from Ron.
"Perfect, let's get back to HQ. The Plan goes live in two hours, let's be gone before Kimmy or her Nerd friend figure out what's happened," she ordered as Ron opened his eyes slightly and looked up at her from the ground.
"Shego...why...are you…" he trailed off as she smirked.
"Relax, it all will be over soon…" she said before kicking him in the face, and he faded off into unconsciousness.
Bueno Nacho HQ - 45 Minutes to Midnight
Ron groaned as his eyes slowly opened and he found himself in a strange place. All around him were merchandise and promotional tools for Naco Night. A food item he had made for the Bueno Nacho Corp that made him a ton of money.
"Is this...heaven?" he asked as he slowly regained his senses and he noticed he was tied up on a giant burrito.
"No, but trust me…" his heart dropped as Drakken, Shego and a bunch of goons smirked up at him. "You're going to wish it was...whoever you are?"
"Drakken! What the heck are you! Where am I!...and seriously, it's Ron. Ron Stoppable. I've been fighting you for years, the least you can do is remember my name!" he yelled in annoyance as the man waved him off.
"Who cares, as for where you are. You are in my new personal Lair: Bueno Nachos Headquarters! And that's El Presidente Drakken, seeing as I am its new CEO!" he gloated as Ron gasped.
"So you're the reason behind Naco night being cancelled and all those other changes to my favourite restaurant! Oh, I should've known! ...Okay to be honest I didn't know, why would you take over the Fast Food industry? What are you making a career change or something?" he asked as the man groaned in annoyance.
"Being President of Beuno Nacho is just part of my evil plan to finally take over the world!" he proclaimed as Ron still looked confused and Drakken sighed. "...I 'took over' Beuno Nacho so I could distribute my ultimate weapons across the entire globe," he held up a little Diablo toy.
"...A kids meal toy? I've got to say, that's kind of dumb," he said as Drakken smirked and placed the toy on the floor.
"Watch and learn Sidekick," he said as he pulled a remote from his blue suit, and pressed a button as the small toy suddenly sparked. The toy began to transform and grow in size, as it went from a small innocent little toy to a giant whopping robot monster with a powerful blaster cannon pointed right at Ron's face.
"...Okay...that's pretty terrifying…" Ron admitted
Drakken smirked and deactivated the toy. "But where the heck did you get the tech for something like that? Most of your robot armies usually turn against you or are...well...dumb?" he said as Drakken growled in annoyance while Shego chuckled.
"Ignoring that comment on my robotics skills. You can thank Kim Possible's father for this little breakthrough. The Hephaestus Project is a cutting edge cybertronic technology that will allow my little Diablo's to unleash their full potential!" Ron still looked confused, as Drakken sighed.
"It's like a living Metal that can change itself by my command...seriously, and you wonder why I don't bother to learn your name?" he said as he straightened himself out. "The Hephaestus Project allows me to manipulate and command an army of high tech combat drones, that can grow to any size, self-repair any damage and annihilate any threat in my way, even that of Global Justice! All from the safety of my command centre here at Bueno Nacho HQ! But once I had the means and the method, all I had to do was market them for the public…enter Mister Nakasumi" he smirked as Ron started putting the pieces together.
"Nakasumi...the attempted heist, you weren't after him, you were after his designs! You knew that kids would love whatever toy design he made and sell them across the globe!" he yelled as Drakken laughed.
"Exactly! My plan is genius! Foolproof even!"
"But that still doesn't explain why you kidnapped me? I'm not a threat to your plan." Ron asked.
"I can answer this one," Shego said, as she walked up to him. "See, despite what Drakken may think, you have a tendency to get in the way. Either intentionally or not, Kimmie always comes running when her little boy toy is in peril. So we decided to take you out of the picture first."
"Oh yeah, well once Kim finds out about this, she'll take you down!" Ron yelled as he struggled against the ropes.
"Neither Kimmie nor Nerd boy even knows you've been taken. We removed that little microchip Kimmie had implanted in you, right now it's sending a signal back to Nerd Boy saying you're in your home, wallowing away in sadness...which you know, given her new boy toy, I can see why she'd forget you." Shego remarked as Ron shook his head in defiance.
"No...No you're wrong, Kim will...she'll definitely find out about this, she-"
"Please, if Kimmie knew we had you, she'd have gotten here by now. She's too busy spending her time at the Prom to even notice we snatched you from the park. Face it, she doesn't care about you anymore," she mocked as Ron started with a look of disbelief.
"...But...Kim…"
"Will be too late to stop my plan! And with her little sidekick out of the way, I will finally be able to take over the world!" Drakken proclaimed as lightning could be heard outside and the sound of rain began to pour.
"Now come Shego, world domination is finally about to be mine...also this jacket is starting to chafe."
"I told you it would," the pair started to argue as Ron was left alone in the darkness of the room.
His head hung low as he processed everything. This Diablo's, the Beuno Nacho chain, everything was set to allow Drakken to take over the world. Kim...Wade...Rufus...no one knew he was here. He was so caught up with Kim and her new boyfriend, he'd gotten totally blindsided by Drakken who was about to launch his plan to take over the world. The young man knew that nothing would get him out of this, he wasn't Kim, he wasn't a Possible. He couldn't do anything. He was just the sidekick, the distraction, the loser that no one wanted, who couldn't do anything right…
"...He did it...he finally won…" he hung his head as thunder and lightning lit up the night sky.
Suddenly an image of Kim being face to face with the Diablo drone shot across his mind, as his eyes snapped open.
"No…" he suddenly said as if he was saying it to the world.
"No…" he told himself as he struggled against the ropes. "...I won't…" he struggled harder as the rope dug into his flesh, and scratched his skin. "...Let them…" the brown of his eyes flickered blue for a moment as his arms bulged slightly. "...Get away…" the ropes began to break, as his teeth gnashed together and his anger grew, as the blue slowly overtook his normally brown eyes.
"WITH THIS!" the ropes snapped as he fell to the floor, face first. "...Ow…" he moaned as he slowly got up, the blue faded away from his eyes and he breathed in heavy breaths.
"Whoa...how did I?" he looked down to the broken ropes, before shaking his head. "Focus, you need to warn Kim. Got to find a phone, something to get the word out to Wade… and I left my phone back home, great..." he told himself as he stood up. He grunted a little as he felt the back of his shoulder, where the microchip had been.
"Well, so much for them tracking me that way...still can't believe Wade and Kim had me microchipped," he said with annoyance before he returned his focus.
"Okay, if Drakken is using this place as a base, Then he must have some sort of communications room around here somewhere. Or if I'm lucky, an office phone." He slowly opened the door and looked down the halls of the building.
"Still can't believe Drakken's been behind Beuno Nacho this whole time. Seriously, the guy has no idea how to run a business," he told himself as he crept his way through the halls. Stopping and avoiding the security cameras along the way.
He passed by the multiple photos of Bueno Nachos Food Chains, as he reminisced about the good old days.
"Ah, Bueno Nacho, where it all started…" he smiled, but he soon heard voices coming down the hall as he snuck around. He knew the door would be a bad call, so he opted for the vents.
Drakken never seemed to check the vents.
He crawled his way inside, as he soon came across what appeared to be the master control area for Drakken's entire operation. Drakken's henchmen were working on the computers, while Shego and Drakken stood at the centre of the room.
"We will be live in 40 minutes, Dr Drakken." one of the Henchmen said as Drakken grinned.
"Excellent, finally. After months of planning and scheming, my most diabolical plan will come to fruition, and best of all…" he switched the camera feeds over to the Middleton Dance Hall, as he accessed the security cameras. "Kim Possible is none the wiser!" he gloated, as he watched Kim and Eric dancing.
"He's been...watching Kim? Okay, that is some seriously sick and wrong mojo right there," Ron whispered to himself. He peered through the grates as he saw all the specs and operations that controlled the entire facility.
"Okay, looks like I just need to find a phone and call….Kim…"
He trailed off as he watched her, dancing away in that blue dress. Her smile was so bright, that if it was a light, it would've blinded him. She looked so happy...happier than any moment Ron had ever seen in his entire life…
He slowly crawled his way out of the vents and into the hall as he hid behind the corner. His back was placed firmly against the wall as his mind replayed that image of Kim dancing the night away. It pained him to see her dancing there with Eric, but what pained him more was knowing that Drakken was about to take over the world and he would have to ruin her 'Perfect Night' to save the world once again...
"No...I can't warn her. She needs this...she needs this to feel normal...I can't do that to her. But what I can do is make sure none of this happens. I'm going to have to step up and save the world. I've done it before...okay granted two of those were Monkey Fist related, and the last time I soloed a mission I got lost in the Antarctic…" he groaned as he slumped to the floor.
"...What the hell am I going to do?" he asked himself as he felt truly alone for the first time in his life. But the thought of Kim in trouble made him clench his fist, as his eyes morphed into a glare.
"No, I have to do this. I won't let this night be ruined for Kim. She needs this...I...need to do this…" he stood up and made his way to the fire escape map as he looked over the building's semi-blueprints.
"Okay think, I can't call Wade, I don't have any gadgets and no Rufus to back me up. Think, Ron, think, what can I do? ...Drakken said he controls the drones from here, this is his main base of operations. All the drones would be connected here by some sort of...computer thingy...so if I destroy whatever activates them, I can keep them shut off, then call Global Justice and have him arrested…" he pondered, before he shook his head.
"But I'm no tech genius, I wouldn't even know where to begin to find that kind of stuff…" he looked over the map as he pondered, staring at the words 'Fire Escape Plan'.
"But...I am good at breaking things...what if...what if I blew up the building? It would take out whatever it is that activates those Diablos, keep them dormant and give the authorities time to mop them up. Okay, Ron my man, you have a plan!" he smirked to himself before he paused and looked at the memorabilia photos along the walls.
"But it would mean destroying Beuno Nacho, my favourite restaurant in the whole world…" he looked around at all the things he loved about Bueno Nacho.
The image of Kim in his mind pushed him forward as he nodded.
"But Kim is more important than Beuno Nacho…" he turned back to the map. "Drakken usually has some sort of armoury in all his bases for his henchmen...if I can find where the Armoury is, maybe he has something in there that can take out this entire building." he stepped back from the map, as he stroked his chin.
"Question is...where?"
"Hey!" He snapped his head as two of Drakken's Henchmen rounded a corner. "The prisoner has escaped!"
"Ah, man!" he cursed as he turned around and bolted.
The building alarms went off as Drakken looked up from his position in the 'War Room' and cursed.
"Wha-Wha, What is this!?"
Shego pulled up the footage as she spotted Ron running. "It's the Sidekick! He managed to break free! I knew we should've bound him in something more rope." she informed him as Drakken fumed with rage.
"He's just one sidekick! Seize him!" he yelled as he sent his goons after him. Shego was about to go after him when "Not you Shego. I highly doubt I need to send you after one boy, the Henchmen should be enough for him"
Shego raised a brow as she turned back to the monitor.
Ron on the other hand was running away from goon after goon, as he slid and weaved his way past them while screaming at the top of his lungs.
Typical Ron fashion.
"Can we talk about this!? I feel like we can resolve this without the need for violence!" he yelled as he slid under some of their feet, moved his body to the side of their tackle, and hopped over a pair that ran into each other.
"Seriously! There's really no need for this!" he yelled as jumped from the goons.
He didn't know why, but suddenly he found his body moving beyond his control, most likely subtly accessing the Tai Shing Pek Kwar bestowed upon him, as he dodged and avoided their grasps.
"I really wish I had better control over this Monkey Kung Fu thing!" he yelled as he backflipped, jumped over and evaded their attacks. "Seriously! Why does it just keep coming and going whenever I need it!?" he yelled. Suddenly he felt the ground rumble as the large sumo Ninja from before ran across the walls. The Sumo Ninja slams down and yells.
"I shall be avenged!" in the highest voice Ron had ever heard. He had to hold back any and all restraint to laugh as the Sumo Ninja twirled his nunchucks at the sidekick.
"D-Dude! P-Please, don't talk!" he tried to say in between avoiding Henchmen, the Sumo Ninja and laughing at his extremely high voice.
"You dishonoured me! My voice brings mockery and shame to everyone I face! And you shall feel my wrath! For I am strong like the mountain! Swift like the wind! And I shall have my vengeance!" he yelled as Ron jumped past him
'Okay! I seriously can't keep this up forever! I've got to stop Drakken, but I can't do that if I keep running!' He looked over at the stairs and came up with a plan.
"Time to stop running," he said to himself and ran up the stairs, as the bad guys followed with the Sumo Ninja leading the charge.
Ron decided in a flash of inspiration, to turn around and jump straight at the Sumo Ninja. Catching the large man off guard, as he barreled into the Sumo. They lost their balance and tumbled backwards, rolling over all the Henchmen behind him and rendering them unconscious. The Sumo Ninja himself hit his head on the way down and was knocked out.
Ron crawled his way off the fat man as he breathed a sigh of relief. "Score..one...for the...Ron Man…" he said in between breaths. "Okay, I need to find that armoury, fast. With these guys Down, Shego won't be too far behind. And there's no way I can beat her," he said as kneeled down to one of the semi-conscious fellows pinned under the Sumo Ninja.
"Hey~ sorry to bother you, but which way to the armoury?" he asked politely.
"Urgh...down the hall, and to the left...please get this guy off me?" The man groaned, as he shakingly pointed down the hall.
"Want to, but can't, you kind of deserve it man… sorry!" he yelled as he ran down the hall.
Drakken and Shego watched from the monitors as Drakken became more enraged, while Shego chuckled.
"Yeah, they were enough for him all right," Shego remarked as Drakken growled in anger.
"Grr! Just, go and capture him! I will not have my perfect night ruined by some sidekick!" he yelled as Shego rolled her eyes and left the room.
"Whatever," she said and bolted out the door. Drakken turned back the monitors as he switched the feedback over to Kim Possible, who was still at the Prom. he sighed a breath of relief.
"Good," he told himself. "She still hasn't figured it out yet, perfect, 901 is still performing his mission to perfection. Who would've guessed that the way to defeat a teen hero was to throw a cute boy at them…" he smirked as he watched his greatest creation district his archfoe.
No wonder he felt confident. Speaking of being confident, he was getting a call from his perfect distraction.
Middleton High - Gymnasium - Prom
Kim smiled as she danced with her boyfriend. So far the night had been going absolutely perfect. No villains had tried to take over the world, she managed to show up Bonnie by bringing a total 'hottie' to the dance, and she was in a relationship with what had to be the perfect guy. It was all going perfectly.
So why did she feel like something was missing?
The music slowed down as she took a seat over by Monique, who was taking a break as well. "Hye Monique," she said as she sat down.
"Hey Girl, I've got to say, I have never seen Mount Bon-Bon as red in the face, as I have in my entire lifetime. The girl looks like she's about to erupt at any moment." Monique pointed towards said Bonnie Rockwaller, who was red in the face angry, while Brick just danced to the music.
"It really is an amazing sight," Kim agreed, as she smiled at beating Bonnie Rockwallker at her own game.
"So why do you look...distracted?" Monique asked as Kim turned to her.
"Distracted?"
"Yeah, every once in a while I notice you looking around the room like you're expecting something to happen. What's the dish, girl?" she asked as Kim shrugged.
"I don't know, I guess I half expect a half-crazed villain to blow through the doors and announce his plan to take over the world. But so far that hasn't been my biggest concern at the moment, Wade's been quiet the whole night. But that's not all, I was kind of hoping to see Ron here. Have you seen him?" she asked as Monique shook her head.
"No, I haven't seen him since class. Do you think he's still upset about the Bueno Nacho thing?" she asked as Kim shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know. I've known Ron my whole life, so I know he usually exaggerates things and gets over them eventually. I was kind of hoping he had gotten over his funk, and just came to enjoy the dance. But recently he's been really moody ever since Eric showed up," she said as Monique nodded.
"Ah, huh, I see…" she said as Kim raised a brow.
"See what?"
"Ron might be getting a little jealous of you and Eric getting so close to each other." she guessed as Kim raised a brow.
"Ron, jealous, about what? Eric and I are in a relationship, and Ron's been my best friend since Pre-K, what does he have to be jealous about?" she asked as Monique shook her head.
"Oh that poor boy," she said as she looked back up at her while taking a sip of her drink. "Think about it Kim, since I've met you two I know you've been inseparable, if it weren't for the fact that you and Eric are a thing, I'd assume that you two would end up together," she said as Kim suddenly choked on her drink.
"W-What!? Me-Me and Ron!? N-No way! H-He's like my best friend, we've known each other since Pre-K, we tell each other everything! W-why would you think we'd end up together!?" she said with a more furious blush than ever.
Monique gave her a look that said 'are you serious?' but ultimately just sighed and shook her head.
"Whatever. Look, I'm happy for you, and Eric seems like a really nice guy. Especially because he makes Bonnie angry," she said before going serious. "But...just make sure that you're a hundred percent about this. Because if you do commit to this, and it ends badly...you may not have Ron around to help pick up the pieces," she advised as Kim stared at her for a moment and turned back to Eric who looked like he had to take a call.
"I'll...I'll take your advice," she said as the two nodded and went back to the dance floor.
Eric meanwhile stepped outside as he called up Drakken. "Master, the plan is going accordingly. Kim Possible is distracted, awaiting final instructions."
"Excellent, do not reveal yourself until I give the order. We don't want little miss 'Thinks She's All That', figuring things out too soon, but by the time she does figure it out, it will be far too late. Good work, 901."
Eric then hung up the phone as he smirked. 'Finally, I'll be done with this stupid charade Being her boyfriend is so annoying. Can't wait for it to be over' the Synthodrone thought to himself as he could only imagine the moment Kim Possible's world came tumbling down.
If only both Drakken and Eric do not account for one thing...the Ron Factor.
Bueno Nacho Headquarters
Ron ran down the hallway, green energy blasts firing behind him, as he was being chased by Shego. Her plasma blasts missed him by a hair, as he narrowly avoided them while screaming all the way.
"AHH!" he yelled as he narrowly avoided the villainess' hot attacks.
"Stay still!" she yelled as she threw more energy blasts at him.
"No! I want to keep myself intact!" he yelled as he did his best to get away from her. "Okay monkey powers! Now would be a really good time to do your mojo!" he yelled to himself, only to feel nothing. "Seriously!? Stupid Monkey Powers! Why does Monkey Fist even want you!?" he yelled as he ducked under her blasts.
He made it into a room full of cubicles, as he tried his best to lose her in the maze. But Shego merely hopped across the cubicles and continued to blast at him.
"OW! OW!" Ron yelled as the blasts narrowly missed him, but still burnt parts of his clothes. "Can't we talk this out!?" he called out, as Shego merely fired back. "Thought so…" he muttered as he ran from her.
He spotted a clock as the time read 12:43, which meant that in less than 17 minutes Drakken would begin his plan to take over the world. He needed to lose Shego and fast.
"This is getting a little Dull, Sidekick!" Shego called out as he jumped to cover just as her plasma blasts scorched the desks. "With Kimmie, it's at least entertaining. With you, it's like watching a scared cat, not that fun." she blasted at him again as he yelped.
"OW!" he yelled when her blast just scraped past his butt.
"Well it's a little funny, but it stopped being funny 10 minutes ago," she said as he pressed his back to the wall, where he spotted a fire extinguisher and grabbed it. "So just give up and we can put you back in a nice cell with-!" She was cut off as Ron jumped from cover and blasted her with the fire extinguisher. White mist blinded her as she coughed and randomly blasted all around her.
"YOU ARE DEAD, SIDEKICK!" she yelled as Ron managed to sneak away from her.
"Oh man she's going to kill me," Ron muttered to himself as he snuck away, he then spotted the armoury as he ducked inside. Shego runs past in a fit of rage, not noticing him slip inside.
Ron pressed himself against the door as he waited for her to pass by, sighing in relief when she did. Noticing he was in the dark, he fumbled around until found the light switch and stared in awe. Inside there was an array of weapons that Drakken had 'acquired', stolen really. with myriads of weapons, explosives and all sorts of pain-inflicting devices. He looked around for anything he could use to take down Drakken.
"Come on, come on, there's got to be something in here," he panicked as he searched the shelves for anything. As he did, a block of something dropped at his feet as he raised a brow and picked it up.
"Huh, what's this?" he asked as he read the label. "C...4...why does that sound familiar?" his eyes suddenly widened as he screamed "Ah! C4!" he yelled, dropping the plastic explosive and taking cover, only for nothing to happen.
"...Oh...right...they don't go off unless you set a timer. Right…" he said as he picked up the brick and looked at the brick. "Okay, this might work...how exactly do I set this?" he asked himself as he fiddled around with the block. While fiddling, he seemed to activate the time that read 10 minutes and counting. Plenty of time to get out of the building.
"All right, Two Points for the Ron man, now I just need to set this thing with the others, and-" but in his haste, he forgot about one thing, Shego as she barged into the room. Her face and hair were still covered in fire hydrant foam, as she lunged at the boy. His body hit the ground hard, as the block of C4 slid under the shelves.
She then grabbed him by his shirt and held a flaming hand above her head. "I'm going to enjoy this Sidekick," she said as she prepared to finish the boy.
"Shego!" Drakken's voice suddenly sounded over the intercom. "Bring the prisoner to the command centre, it's time to initiate the final countdown," he ordered as Shego glared at him and the intercom, before dissipating her plasma and pulling him up.
The Henchmen pulled his arms behind his back and wrapped some rope around his wrists and ankles, as they dragged him towards the command centre. Not noticing the C4 explosive that was about to go off in less than 10 minutes.
From the outside, a giant tower emerged from the building, as the Bueno Nacho Headquarters was converting into the final phase. Drakken's henchmen were at the ready as they typed in the necessary codes to activate the Diablo's worldwide. A large countdown clock showing that in 5 minutes, the Drones would activate and world domination would be his.
Drakken smirked as he watched his plan unfold.
The command doors opened up as Shego walked in with Ron being held by two Henchmen, as they forced the young man to kneel.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't our little escapee. Didn't get very far did you?" Drakken mocked as Ron glared at him.
"Further than usual, I think that's my best time?" He tried to make light of the situation, but the Henchmen punched him in the stomach and caused him to buckle over. "Ow..." he groaned as Drakken chuckled.
"Amusing as this is, I would rather not have a distraction as I am about to achieve my ultimate goal." Drakken said as walked up to Ron Stoppable.
"You're not going to get away with this Drakken," Ron said with a glare as Drakken chuckled.
"Really, and who's going to stop me, you? You had one chance to warn Kim Possible of my plan, but instead, you wasted your time, my henchmen's time and my own time running about like you usually do. I may not know your name, but I do know who you are...you are a nobody. Someone who has no real place in this world, a forgettable face amongst the real heroes of this world. And that no matter how hard you try you'll never amount to anything. It's really quite pathetic, isn't it?" he said as Ron glared. "But don't fret, really you had no chance against me," he said as he turned back to his men.
"Now, activate the drones! It's time the world knew of my true genius!" Drakken proclaimed as a large tower began to emerge next to the sombrero-like hat at the other end of the building. A large grin on his face as Drakken was one step closer to world domination…
Until he heard chuckling.
Everyone turned around as Ron was slowly chuckling to himself. His head held down and his shoulders moved up and down with his chuckles before they slowly turned into full-blown laughter.
"...What is this, why are you laughing?" Drakken asked as Ron continued to laugh. "Stop it...Stop it! I demand you stop this instant!" he ordered as Ron ignored him and continued laughing, infuriating Drakken more. "I said stop laughing! I'm about to take over the world! Why are you laughing!?"
"I'm laughing because it's funny," Ron said in between his laughs. "You, a genius? That's a really good joke," he said and went back to laughing.
"I AM A GENIUS!" he yelled as Drakken marched up to him. "I successfully created an unstoppable army that not even Kim Possible can defeat! How is that not genius!?"
"Because you didn't make them, you didn't make anything! You stole it all from real geniuses!" Ron laughed. "The tech, you stole that from Kim's Dad, your old college roommate. I'm guessing he was the only one smart enough to actually crack the code, right?! Lord knows you never could. Your 'base', you stole it from people who built this company from the ground up! Even the little Diablo design, you stole that from Nakasumi, a man who has more talent in his pinky finger than you have in your entire body!" Ron accused Drakken with a mad laugh.
"Nearly everything in your entire career as a 'Genius' has been stolen from other people! Because let's face it, when you try and build something yourself, it blows up in your face! Heck, you even tried to make a robot girlfriend and they turned on You!" he laughed as Drakken became angrier and angrier.
"And what would you know, sidekick!? You haven't done anything meaningful in your entire life!" Drakken yelled as Ron just laughed harder.
"Oh, I've done more than you. I made a Nacho Recipe that earned me 99 Million dollars. I built a doomsday device out of gym equipment, a vacuum cleaner, tennis balls and a fridge! And it worked! Hell, when I was evil I built better doomsday devices than you could ever make in your lifetime, two in fact on the same day! And I knew how to work all the other stuff you keep in your closet! You don't even know how half of them work!" he laughed as Drakken's eyes twitched even wilder.
"Face it Drakken! I may be a nobody, but you? You are worse than nobody…" he stared him right in the eyes and said. "You're a joke!" he laughed as it echoed in the control room, as the Henchmen and Shego just stared at the bravado of Ron Stoppable.
Drakken finally had enough and punched Ron in the face. "Shut up!" he yelled, but Ron only kept laughing. "Stop it!" He punched again and again. "Stop laughing at me!" he yelled as Shego and the Henchmen backed off. But Ron only continued to laugh, as Drakken continued to beat on him, even when he was bruised and dripping blood from his lips.
Ron coughed blood from his lips as he grinned at the blue-skinned man. "...Even...your punches are a joke..." he said as Drakken growled in rage and grabbed him by his shirt and held him up.
"It doesn't matter! I still won! You lost! What do you have to say about that!?" he demanded as Ron grinned.
"...I'd say...I did my job...kept you distracted…" he managed to say as Drakken's rage disappeared and confusion spread over his face.
"What?"
"Did it ever occur to you why I was in your armoury, what possible reason I could've gone in there?" he asked with a grin.
"You were obviously looking for something to stop my plan, but Shego stopped you! You still failed!"
"...Did I?" he asked as Shego and Drakken blinked in confusion. "Does the word C4 mean anything to you?" he asked as horror slowly spread across Drakken and Shego's face.
"You didn't…"
In the armoury, the counter was down to its last seconds as it ticked down.
"I did...I say we got less than a minute before this place goes up. Should at least take your command centre offline long enough for the Authorities and Global Justice to swoop in and lock you all up."
"Y-You idiot! There's enough C4 in the Armoury to level this entire building! You'd kill yourself and us all!" Drakken yelled as Ron nodded. The timer reached the last digits as it counted down from 5.
"I know...but the thing is…"
4
"I'm willing to do anything to make sure Kim is safe and happy..."
3
"And if it means I go out in a blaze of glory…"
2
"Then so be it, because after all…" his last thoughts drifted to Kim's smile and he said with a full-blown smile…

"...I'm just the sidekick…"

The C4 ignited the entire armoury, and all the sensitive material was detonated in a fireball of destruction. The whole building shook from the blast as everyone was thrown off their feet. The computers and the hard drives ignited in sparks of fire and electricity, as smoke began to blast into the room and flames quickly engulfed nearly everything.
The fire alarm quickly sounded as the entire structure of Bueno Nacho Headquarters became compromised. Iron girders and plaster broke off the ceiling as every henchman made a mad dash for the exit. Shego and Drakken were thrown off their feet as the explosion rocked the entire building. Drakken looked up in horror as his entire base, all the necessary equipment was set ablaze.
"No...No..." he softly spoke as all his hard work was up in flames. "NOOOOOOOOOO!" he yelled as the fire quickly engulfed the room. "This can't be happening! This cannot be happening!" he yelled. "It was all so perfect!" He was cut off, as Shego grabbed him by the arm, and she pulled him away from the exploding consoles.
"Dr.D, we have to go!" she yelled as she dragged him towards the exit. But the exit quickly caved in, and they were blocked off. "The roof!" she yelled as she dragged Drakken with her. Ron meanwhile, struggled against his binds as he was left behind in the burning building.
"Come on! Come on!" He struggled, but the ropes were too tight. "Damn it!" he cursed before he spotted a shard of metal and grabbed it. "Score!" he said and got to work.
He used the shard to slowly cut the rope, as he found it difficult with both his injuries, the strength of the rope and the fact the whole room was filling up with smoke. His vision began to blur as any breathable oxygen was quickly being snuffed out in the room. But just before he could pass out, he managed to cut the rope.
"Yes!" he yelled and then cut the ropes around his ankles. Once free he made a mad dash to the roof, as he tried to find a way off.
"Man this is really one of those times I wish Wade built me a gadget!" he yelled as more explosions rocked the building. Ahead of him he saw Drakken and Shego as they too looked for a way off the burning building.
"You!" Drakken yelled, "This is all your fault! Shego!" he yelled, "Kill him!" he ordered but the explosions caused them to rock.
"Maybe AFTER We aren't on top of an exploding building!" Shego yelled as they looked for a way off. "There's got to be a way out of here!" she yelled. Ron looked around before his eyes spotted the lake just next to the Bueno Nacho Headquarters.
"There! But we're going to have to jump!" he pointed.
"Are you insane!?" Drakken yelled as a large explosion went off near them.
"You got a better one!?" Ron yelled as Drakken shut his lips. "Good! Now Jump!" he yelled as the three of them jumped off the roof, just as an explosion went off behind them. The three landed in the water and they submerged under. Just as the building was detonated in a huge fireball.
Meanwhile back at Prom
Barkin and the other students have gathered around, as they were about to announce the Prom King and Queen of Middleton High. "Okay people, listen up! It's almost midnight, and the ballots have been cast, and the results have been finalised!" Barkin yelled.
"Buckle up sister, you're about to be owned," Bonnie remarked.
"In your dreams, Bonnie," Kim shot back as she held onto Eric's arm.
Eric on the other hand was checking his watch, as he had expected the plan to be in full motion by now. But so far he has received no word from Drakken.
'What is taking so long?' he questioned himself. 'I want this assignment to be over with,'
"Eric...Eric?" he snapped out of his thoughts as he turned to Kim. "Is everything okay? You kind of spaced out for a second."
"Oh, sorry, Kim. I just got nervous, that's all. This is really...important to you," he managed to say without giving away that he was holding back his annoyance.
"See, even your Hottie knows that there's no chance at winning against me," Bonnie smirked as Kim glared back.
"So not, Bonnie."
"And the winner of the Prom King and Queen is...Kim Possible and Eric Langhsaw!" Barkin announced as the students cheered, while Bonnie growled in anger.
"This is so unfair!" she complained as Kim walked past her with a smirk, while high fiving Monique on her way to receive her crown. Eric and Kim stood before the crowd as the crowns were placed on their heads. Phone cameras went off as they took pictures of the 'happy couple'.
Eric put on a smiling face, but inside he was growing more and more confused and annoyed. This wasn't supposed to happen, Drakken was supposed to burst in with the Diablo's, he would reveal his true nature and Kim would be left a hollow shell of herself for being duped by a Synthnodrone. But nothing, it was well past time the plan should've been initiated and nothing happened.
'What is going on, what am I supposed to do now?' Eric thought to himself as he gripped his fist behind his back.
Kim on the other hand was smiling with as much happiness as she could contain, as she felt truly happy. For one night she was just a normal teenage girl, enjoying the small things in life that made it all worth it. But as her gaze was going around the room, she noticed that Ron was nowhere to be seen. She had hoped that he had come to his senses by now and enjoyed the Prom. But somewhere inside Kim felt sad that he wasn't here. Not only that, but for some reason, she couldn't understand why, but she almost wished Ron was standing next to her and not Eric?
'Ron, where are you?'
Bueno Nacho Headquarters
Ron and Drakken emerged from the water as they both took a huge breath of air. Ron dragged an unconscious Shego on his shoulder back to land, while Drakken swam to shore. Shego had apparently hit the water too hard and got knocked out as a result. Luckily, Ron managed to pull her out of the water but noticed that she was not breathing as he took steps to resuscitate her. Thanks to the First Aid Training Ann Possible insisted they take before they began their Hero work. His hand pressed to her chest as he applied the compressions, before placing his lips over her mouth and blowing air into her lungs. He knew that she was more than likely going to make him suffer if she found out he 'kissed her'.
"But, she can kill me after I save her," he told himself as he continued to resuscitate the Villainess.
Draken meanwhile looked upon the destruction Ron had laid bare, as the entirety of Beuno Nacho was engulfed in flames. His tower was now a twisted shape of metal and reminiscent of a Salvador Dali painting. He fell to his knees as months of hard work, all his brilliant planning and scheming, was literally going up in smoke.
And it was all His Fault.
Ron continued to compress her chest before Shego coughed out a huge amount of water and she resumed breathing normally. "Thank goodness…" Ron said as he was glad she didn't die. "Authorities will have definitely heard that explosion, medical will be-!"
CRACK
But his train of thought was cut off, as a steel pipe slammed into the side of his head and he was knocked to the ground. His head was spinning and his vision blurred as he felt blood leak down the side of his head. He managed to crane his neck up as Drakken stood there, exhausted and angry, as he held a piece of pipe from the debris in his hand and held a look of insanity on his face.
"You ruined everything!" He took another swing at him as the pipe struck Ron on the chin and caused him to fall back down l. "Months of planning! Scheming! Just to be flushed down the toilet, by the sidekick of a teenage girl!" Ron managed to avoid his next swing but not the next as it struck his shoulder and he cried in pain.
"I had everything in place! The tech, the distribution! Even Kim Possible was distracted long enough for this to work!" He bashed the pipe against Ron's body as he screamed in pain. "But you went and blew up everything!" he swung again and cracked one of Ron's ribs as he screamed in pain.
"Losing to Kim Possible I can handle! But you!? The sidekick!?" metal hit flesh as bruises formed on Ron's skin. "My reputation will be destroyed! My entire career will be mocked because I was beaten by you! I will not let the world know my greatest plan was foiled by a Buffon! And I will make sure that everyone you hold dear suffers for your actions!" Ron's eyes snapped open as Draken raised the pipe. He raised the pipe to end his life and brought it down with furious intent.
Only for Ron to catch it at the last minute and hold it tightly in his grip.
Drakken was momentarily stunned, before his eyes widened in terror as Ron's brown eyes shifted to glowing blue and he squeezed the pipe, bending it inward like it was made of tinfoil. Drakken stared at the bent metal in his hand before a fist slammed into his face and he was thrown back and slammed into the dirt. Stars danced around his head as he tried to register what just happened.
His vision finally cleared as he looked up and flinched in fear, as Ron Stoppable with eyes glowing blue, held the pipe in his hand and stared at him with a look that screamed murder. And for the first time in his entire life…
Drakken was scared of him
Then almost as if in a trance, Ron took a step forward, as Drakken recoiled in terror.
"N-Now wait a minute!" Drakken said as Ron took a step forward. "L-Let's not get too hasty, things were said and empty threats were made!" he begged as Ron continued to walk towards him.
"L-Look I know I planned to take over the world, b-b-but no one would actually be hurt! I-I-I swear! W-What's the point of ruling the world if there's no one to rule over!?"
Ron continued forward as the grip he held on the pipe increased and the metal strained.
"W-Wait! P-Please! I-I'll give you anything! Money! Power! Your own continent! Greenland!" Ron continued forward as Drakken backed away from the teen. "Okay! Okay! Iceland! You can have Iceland!" he begged as he continued to crawl back, only to hit his back against a large piece of debris, effectively corning him.
Ron's eyes glowed even more furiously as he marched onward.
"W-Wait! I-if this is about your name! I-I promise I know it! I-its uh-uh! Ren Steampable?! No - Roy Stonegable! No - wait! John Hospital! No - wait please!" he begged as Ron stood before him and grabbed the blue man by his shirt and held the pipe in his hand. Tears started streaking down his eyes as Drakken begged.
"AHH! STOPPABLE! RON STOPPABLE! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! I PROMISE I'LL REMEMBER YOUR NAME! I SWEAR! PLEASE! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! NOOOOOO!" he screamed as Ron held the pipe in his hand and thrust it forward…
Only to impale it in the concrete debris, right next to Drakken's head.
Drakken felt his heart hammering in his chest as his eyes darted from the pipe embedded in the wall, and the young man that held him in a grip. Ron released a calming breath as his eyes returned to normal, and he stared into the man trembling in his grip.
"...I...was never here…"
"...W-What?" Drakken asked, confused.
"I...was never here…" Ron calmly explained. "There was no attempt to take over the world...I never came here to stop it...Your 'Plan' blew up by itself...and Kim will never know that her 'Perfect Night' was almost ruined by you…" he told the man as Drakken was scared and confused.
"...W-Why? Why would I?" he asked as Ron shoved him harshly against the wall and glared at him.
"Because Kim deserves it! She deserves to have ONE NIGHT free from your insane bid to take over the world. And she doesn't need to know you captured her...her friend…" he hung his head at the last part, seeing as he didn't know what the relationship was between him and Kim with Eric in the picture.
"So here is what's going to happen." he looked back up and glared. "When the authorities arrive, you're going to tell them your own machine blew up because you are a failure as a mad genius. You're not going to mention me or any of this to Kim, and you're going to rot in jail for the rest of your miserable life…" he told him as Drakken swallowed his trepidation.
"A-And if I don't?" he asked before Ron wrapped his hands around his throat and choked the man. Drakken's eyes widened even further in fear as he desperately struggled against Ron's grip to no avail.
"Because if you don't, the world will know that a 'Sidekick' took you down before you even had a chance! And I will make sure to finish what I started!" he threatened as the man gasped for air.
"Do I make myself clear?" he asked with pure venom in his voice as the man nodded rapidly while trying to breathe. Ron then let go of his throat as the man pulled in big gasps of air into his lungs. Ron then stood back up and pointed at him.
"Now, be a good boy. Stay here for the Cops, and let Shego know about this deal. Cause lets face it, she won't want her reputation ruined by me… plus I saved her from drowning… she owes me…" he said as he then turned around and started to walk away.
Drakken was frozen in his place, too afraid to move or speak as he sat there amongst the wreckage of his master plan. For all his time-fighting Kim Possible and her dopey sidekick, he never once considered them true threats for his bid to take over the world. But after tonight, after seeing what one man was willing to do for someone he cared about…
He knew that if he ever crossed Ron Stoppable, or if he ever found out about his ultimate distraction plan… there would be hell to pay…
And with that, he passed out.
Ron could hear the sirens in the distance as he trudged his way back home. His body was sore and his bones ached with each step he took. He held his ribs as he groaned in pain. He needed to get medical attention, but he knew that if he went to either the hospital or Kim's mother, questions would be asked and Kim would find out about his 'Mission'. He couldn't let her find out her perfect night was almost spoiled by Drakken.
He just…couldn't do that to her
"I… I just… need to…"
He felt his consciousness fading as he stumbled along the road. Until finally his legs gave out and he fell to the ground. Blood leaked from his lips and bruises lined his body as his vision slowly faded. And in the darkness that crawled at the edges of his vision, he could've sworn he saw a figure land before him. His eyesight slowly faded as he drifted into the arms of sleep. But not before hearing….
"Stoppable-san"
And Scene. Well, here is Chapter I of a rework of my old Rise of the Unstoppable story. With this story, I wanted to try a different approach to Kim Possible Season 4 and the So the Drama Movie. Also, because I believe that if given a chance, Eric could be built up to be a threatening villain. I had to make sure that Eric was never brought up so that the story would make sense.
Because let's face it, part of why Kim and Ron got together was partly their feelings for each other, and because Kim found out her 'Perfect Boyfriend' was a fake synthodrone. So it may have also been partly rebound feelings, Ron being there for her when Eric had betrayed her. So this story will also explore how their relationship would develop if the plot had never been revealed. It will come to light, but not for a while
And as for why Ron never called on Wade or Rufus to help him. Well, Wade would've just told Kim, and I wanted to make Ron realise that he has to do things by himself. Thus pushing him to grow up, and embrace the potential he has inside of him.
But for those answers, stay tuned, leave a review and feedback on the story and stay tuned for…
Chapter II: Unsung Hero
