Thanks for the comments!

Sorry, but these two exchanged 'I love you's' a ton before his surgery, so those scenes where they don't say it, um … didn't happen. Lol sorry not sorry. I mean, just look at every episode in season 4 ... they're obviously in love.

Season 4 - Episode 12 - during 'Blackout'

November 8, 2015

She stretched and woke slowly, feeling amazing. She hadn't felt this rested in days. She hummed as Andy ran his hand down her back.

Andy.

Her eyes shot open. "What the hell?!"

He closed his eyes, waiting for the lecture. He didn't care one bit. He snuck in around 2 a.m. this morning and she rolled over to him, hummed, then immediately melted into him, never waking.

Now, however, she was sitting up, angrily staring at his face, his eyes still closed in fear.

"I know you're awake." He loved her voice.

"Don't hate me."

"Andy!"

"I'm sorry," he opened one eye, smirking. "Sort-of." At least it was the truth.

"Oooo, I'm so mad at you."

He brought his hand up to the back of her neck and leaned up as well. It took her a moment before she allowed herself to lean forward.

After the kiss, he whispered, "Good morning."

"I'm so mad at you," she whispered, but kissed him again and lay down, pulling him down, too. She snuggled into him as she was when they woke. "What time is it?"

"Early."

"What time did you sneak in here?"

"Late."

"Andy, you are not suppo-"

"I know, but you left for work yesterday before I woke, and then didn't get home until after I was asleep. I didn't see you at all," he whined.

"My poor baby," she smiled up to him and ran her hands through his hair. She couldn't get enough of him, even when he was an ass.

"Yeah, yeah, but obviously I love you more … you didn't even miss me." He sulked.

She rolled her eyes and squeezed him a little more, "I always miss you, Andy, but your doctor said-"

"I'm perfectly fine. I nearly passed out almost a week ago … he said don't overly exert myself, he didn't say that I couldn't sleep next to you," he kissed her forehead, "and snuggle," he kissed her nose, "and kiss you." He kissed her lips, lingering and smiling against them as she responded.

"I saw Jack so much yesterday."

"Ugh," he flopped next to her, dramatically.

"I hate him so much, Andy. I mean, he makes me sick to my stomach."

"I don't want to hear about Jack Raydor while in our bed." He whispered and moved quicky over her to kiss down her neck.

"My bed," she pulled him up to kiss his mouth.

"Mmmm, what's yours is mine."

"Uh huh…"

"Not Jack's, mine." He kissed her possessively, "Mine." He reached his hand down, slipping further.

Her eyes widened and then closed for a few minutes as he did his thing and repeated 'mine' a few more times.

After a while, he fell beside her, both catching their breath.

"So … what did he do now?"

"Who?" She was spent. Looking over to him, she saw him smile. He could easily make her forget Jack.

She breathed and kissed his face, figuring out how to punish him for sneaking in. Rusty would bring him to work. She could have easily dropped him off before meeting with Andrea and Judge Grove, but he deserved a ride with Rusty. He loved the kid, but his annoyance was obvious, and she needed them to spend more quality time together anyway.

Season 1 - Episode 10 - after 'Long Shot'

October 14, 2012

'Hey Captain' he texted 'Tell Rusty congratulations again on not having Dunn in his life anymore … the kid's been through enough.'

'Thanks, Andy. He's relieved, sleeping on the couch right now as I'm trying to finish up paperwork.'

'You didn't give him a bed?'

'Ha, yes of course … watched a boring movie and I guess he's just exhausted.'

'Did you give Emily my number?'

'Uh oh.'

'Yeah, she called.'

Andy stared at his phone. It had been a full 40 seconds since his last text. He was about to ask if she was mad, but 'Captain Raydor' showed up as she called.

"Hey, Cap, sorry, I didn't mean for-"

"She called you?!"

"Well, yeah, uh, she uh," he didn't know why he was stammering, "she was checking up on you after the shooting today …"

"She already checked in with me, though …"

"Well, I'm sure she needed a different uh, perspective."

"Your perspective?"

"Hey, you gave her my number, what did you think she was going to do with it? Just see how I was doing?"

"No, I guess not." Sharon was furious.

"What's the big deal? The girl was worried. As she should have been."

She hummed.

"Sharon, don't get upset with her."

"Too late."

"Why?"

She ignored him, "So … what was your perspective? What did you tell her?"

He smiled. "She asked what happened, I told her. She asked if you were okay, I said 'yes'. It's not a big deal … she was just worried."

"That's it?"

"Yes, we didn't talk for three hours."

"I'm sorry …"

"For what?"

"You didn't have to … she's not … Andy, you are a subordinate, you don't have to assure my children that I'm okay."

"Why not? Am I not also a friend?"

Silence.

"Sharon, I'm not your friend?!" He joked, feigning hurt.

"Shut up. Yes, but still." He could tell she was smiling.

"Okay then, your children can call me any time to check up on you."

"They won't anymore, I promise."

"I told you that I don't mind. I get it, they're worried."

"Your children don't call me."

"My children don't care about my well-being."

"Yes they do, Lieutenant."

"Okay."

"Andy-" she warned.

"Okay! Sorry, yes, fine, they do," he rolled his eyes, not believing his own words, "but that isn't the point. Emily is in New York, she's extra worried."

"What all did she say?"

"I'll never tell."

"Well that is unacceptable."

"Ask her."

"Oh, come on-"

"Sharon, I'd rather you be mad at me than have her mad at me."

She laughed, finally nodding, "Yeah, that's smart."

"Call her."

"I spoke with her already for an hour … she mentioned nothing of you."

"I wonder why," he joked at her being upset at all that her daughter was worried.

'Hmmm. Okay, night Lieutenant."

"See you tomorrow, Captain. Tell Emily I said 'hi'."

"Stop." She hung up, smiling.

After waking Rusty up to send him to bed, she plopped on her comfy new chair outside on her balcony and called her daughter.

'It's incredibly late, Ma."

"Are you out?"

"No, I'm at home. You okay?"

"Yes, Emily. But I did just speak with Andy."

"Who?"

"Lieutenant Flynn, Em."

"Oh, yeah, well … oh, um, okay. And?"

"Do not call him again."

Silence.

"Emily."

Silence.

"Em!"

"You can't tell me who I can or can't speak with anymore. Sorry. I can't promise that I won't call him."

"I don't need my detectives and lieutenants assuring my own daughter that I'm okay!"

"Then you should have assured me better than you did ... or get in another profession!" Emily was mad.

"What is wrong with you?"

"You weren't honest, Mom. With me!"

"I told you everything, told you that I was fine."

"And that's it. I wasn't persuaded. Sorry."

"And he did that? He made you feel better about everything."

"Yes."

"What did he say that made you feel okay about it?"

"He was very detailed, told me about what exactly happened, that you were behind the shooter, hell, behind a dumpster. He was actually right in front of the shooter ... he could've been killed. But he didn't hide that fact. Mom, he just laid it out without thinking about how worried I was, like you do. You don't share everything because you just want to say it's fine and move on. I need more than that. If I'm not there, with you … not even in the same time zone. I just, I needed to know everything."

Sharon shook her head. "Okay, so we'll make a deal. I will be more forthcoming with details and such and try not to brush anything aside … try not to protect your feelings as much … if you do not call him or them anymore. I know you have Andrea's number."

"Well Andrea is different."

"True."

"Is … Andy," she emphasized his first name with a sing-songy voice, "different?"

"I will not even pretend that I heard your insinuation, there."

"So just friends?"

"Well, of course, I mean, he works with me, for me … we're not technically even 'friends'."

"You just go out to dinner with him."

"Emily, I took Detective Sanchez, Julio, out to dinner, and Amy, well, Detective Sykes went out for drinks with Andrea and me a few times … going to dinner or having drinks with co-workers so that you can get to know each other better … does not mean that there's anything else going on."

Emily made a sound, almost an, "Ooookay."

"Stop worrying so much."

"That's the dumbest thing you've ever said."

"I love you, love. Stop calling my detectives."

"I'll think about it. Love you, too."

Season 5 - Episode 1 - during 'Present Tense'

June 16, 2016

"But where did Amanda go?"

He opened another container of Chinese. Let her think on it for a bit.

"Hey," he whispered after too long of a silence, taking one of her hands and intertwining their fingers.

She hummed, apologizing.

He smiled, then ordered, "Eat. And, speaking of love and timing, when you were IA, my god… I wish I had known how much I'd love you."

She tilted her head and smiled sweetly to him. "Me, too, however, nothing could have happened."

"Hmm," he disagreed. "Wanna bet?"

"Andy… there is no way on Earth I would have allowed …"

"I would have transferred, or retired."

"You would not ha-"

"Sharon, come on. If we were like this," He kissed her hand, "then … yes, I would have fucking quit."

She shook her head. "I wouldn't have let you."

"You wouldn't have had a choice."

"Hmm."

"And can you imagine all of that time we would have had alone… no Rusty, yet," he leaned over to kiss her. "You're so beautiful."

She blushed a little. "You." She took a hold of his tie and brought his lips to hers again.

"We aren't moving too slow, by the way..." he made sure to correct from earlier.

She just met his eyes.

"I'm happy. Being with you, as we are, I'm …" he kissed her hand again, "I'm … I've never been happier, Sharon. I want to move closer, I want to move in with you, I want to marry you, I want everything, but that would be moving too fast… for you." Seeing her shocked reaction and reddened face, he made sure to add, "Right now, I'm just … lucky to be dating you. Babe, I'm smitten. I'm done for." He squeezed her hand, "I've never been happier to wait for someone. You know I'll wait."

She brought her hand to his cheek and leaned in, kissing him slowly. She didn't want to think of all he just said. Marriage. God. She was still wrapping her head around moving in together.

He grinned again after pulling back slowly, "Not a great few days for the kid, apparently."

"Gus … he's … he'll be patient." Sharon worried for Rusty, but knew that it was his own path.

"I'll try to speak with him." Gus and Andy had become close since he gave him a place to stay while as he searched for Paloma and after.

Sharon kissed him again and ran her fingers through his hair, one of, if not her absolute, favorite thing to do. "Andy," she whispered against his lips.

"Hmmm?"

"I've never been happier than I am right now." She made sure to have his eyes with hers.

He seemed to be stunned.

"I'm so very much, head over heels in love with you that it scares me. I ..." she didn't want to admit it, but he deserved to hear, "I've never known how good it could be, Andy. All of it, you just loving me, making love to me ... I've never had this. Someone thinking that I am the ... thinking that I'm worth this much."

She kept staring. He kept being stunned.

"Andy?"

"Really?"

"Why do you not believe me?"

He shrugged. "I want to, but …"

"But you don't?"

"Not happier than when you and Jack started out? When Ricky and Emily were little?"

"That was a different happiness, and no, never happier with Jack. Not one moment, Andy." She really hoped that he believed her. "I never felt as ... special, or wanted, desired ... with him ... but I never knew that I could be happy and it not be difficult... at least sometimes. Andy," she kissed him softly, "it has never been difficult loving you. Sure, I was thrilled with my babies. You'll never compare to them, sweetie, or Rusty."

"Well I know that …" he acted as if it would be crazy to think otherwise.

"Jack … did not … know that. He had to be first. He always needed to be first. After Emily, the jealousy of not being my number one, you know … he always had to be the most important and interesting man in the room."

Andy nodded, remembering Jack from back in the day … they'd hung out at bars, not together, but around each other. He liked him, but he wasn't married to him. After seeing him around Sharon recently and hearing details over the last few years, he despised the man.

"I didn't help those first few years with his ego, but I was young and thought he was it. I thought he was the greatest thing to walk the planet. My God, twenty somethings are just stupid."

Andy laughed.

She swatted his shoulder. "Shut up, I knew nothing of love."

"Well, who does that young?"

"Do you think you and I would've made it?" She grinned.

"I would have fucked it up."

She pulled his tie toward her and kissed him hard. "I wouldn't have let you."

"Hmm," he kissed her again. "Eat. I know you're hungry."

She ate some, watching him closely. "You make me feel loved, Andy. You make me feel like I'm the most important person in the room. You … I still just can't believe how … much you love me and care. I wish all three of my kids were yours," she placed her hand on his cheek, forgetting the food.

"I guess we'd have had five?"

The biggest smile formed on her face and his heart jumped. If only.

"Or six. Or seven." She kissed him again until her stomach growled.

"Eat."

"Yes sir."

They ate.

"So six or seven? You wanna try for a baby?" He grinned.

She laughed harder than she had in a while. "Can you imagine?!"

He could. He did not say that, however.

"Maybe just adopt two more…" she offered, still laughing.

He sighed. "I need to look for a bigger house."

She nodded.

After eating for a bit, she grinned seductively, "Oh, just a warning, I'm wearing leather tomorrow."

He pulled her to him and kissed her hard, "Then I'll wear purple."

She blushed and kept him with her. He knew she had a thing for that color on him, and for some reason, she thought he found her more sexy in leather, but she could wear a burlap sack and he'd be just as appreciative. He was thankful for the warning, though.

He pulled her onto his lap and they made out for a bit, listening for any movement from the other side of the condo.

"Movie or bed?"

She hummed and continued kissing him. Bed.
