Well ... that's it. Roughly two and a half years, a labor of love, and now the story is over. I will admit that the comics left a sour taste in my mouth, the few novels that explored life after the shows were even worse, and writing this has kind of helped me manage that thwarted desire to see more stories of these wonderful characters out in the world.
Did this trilogy end neatly, with everything tied in a bow? No, but that's not how Buffy and Angel's stories ever ended.
I've never been quite sure how many folks have been reading along over the months, but if you're out there, I'd love to hear from you ... good, bad, or indifferent. If I'm alive and have an internet connection, it doesn't matter if you stumble across this work decades from now, I'll still have the same accounts and the same email address, and I'll read your comments and most likely reply.
Those of you who have commented, I appreciated each and every one.
Will I ever return to tell more Buffyverse stories? I'm not sure. Frankly, I'm not sure how many people actually enjoyed this one, and while I'd like to explore what happens with Fred and Wesley, or check in on Angel and Buffy's trip to parts unknown, there's a certain allure to letting people's imaginations run wild.
We'll see.
If you're reading this, thanks for checking out my work.
