A/N: NSFW this chapter is rated 'M' for soon to be obvious reasons. I stepped out of my comfort zone a little to write the first part of this chapter. I'm not sure if I will be doing that again. I still don't feel comfortable about writing sex scenes, but I left this one as I had written it, instead of rewriting it. There will be only two more chapters to this story.
Don't You Remember – Chapter 18
Maura was flat on her back with a very naked Jane hovering over her. Jane had a smirk on her face as she leaned down to kiss her. Jane's eyes were dark and Maura wasn't sure what Jane was going to do. This was the first time they were totally naked in bed together. It seemed like things had been going so slow but once Jane had experienced a partially naked Maura, she was ready for a totally naked Maura and everything that came with that.
Just a few minutes ago, Jane had pushed Maura up against the bedroom door once they had entered the bedroom. Maura barely had her hand off of the door knob, when Jane pinned her hands above her head and quickly unzipped her dress as she bombarded her with kisses. Jane wasn't wasting anytime. Jane was ready for the next step in their relationship and she wanted it to happen before she lost her nerve. Once Jane released her hands, Maura had started undressing Jane. They pulled off the last of their clothes as the back of Maura's legs hit the bed. Jane held Maura's arm out and took a few steps back so she could admire the naked body in front of her.
Jane hoped she wasn't being creepy as she stared at Maura. She spun Maura around and told her, "You are so beautiful Maura. Your body is …" Jane paused she didn't know how to express what she was feeling. After a quick minute she continued, "I love all of your curves." "Climb onto the bed Maur." Jane commanded and Maura did as she was told. Jane motioned for her to lay on her back and then she followed climbing on top of Maura. Jane was on all fours looking down at the love of her life.

Maura hoped someday she could become a Rizzoli for real, if Jane wanted to marry her that is. Maura smiled when she thought about her new family. She had everything she had ever dream of, a loving partner, and two children, a boy and a girl.
It was about 3 AM before they fell asleep in each other's arms. At a little after 7 AM the door knob was turned only to find the door locked. Tony knew that his mother normally didn't lock the door. He and Zoey knocked loudly on the door, saying 'mommy, mama' in an effort to wake their mothers. They were both excited they were going to their nonna's house for Maura and Tony's first Rizzoli family dinner. Zoey, at almost four, was quite the talker and was telling Tony all about the relatives that he would meet later that day. Angela had asked that they come over around noon because she wanted to spend some additional time with them before all the other relatives arrived.
After several knocks, Maura stirred. Realizing it was the children she hurried and put her robe on and woke Jane up to do the same before she headed to the door. "You two are up early this morning." She told the children when she opened the bedroom door.
"We are excited mommy, we want to go to nonna's, it is family dinner day." Zoey said as she gave Maura a hug.
"Yes, it is and I am excited as well. But we still have over four hours before we leave to go to nonna's. Your ma and I were still sleeping."
"Mom," Tony said, "It is time to get up. We have to find the right clothes to wear and we have to have breakfast before we put on our nice clothes. I want everyone to like me today."
"Tony, they will love you, don't worry buddy." Jane said as she rose her head up from under the blanket that she had been hiding under. Tony and Zoey both climbed up on the bed and hugged her. "Okay, okay, I am getting up. I promise." Jane told the children as they hugged her and then climbed off the bed and ran out of the room. Jane and Maura just laughed at how excited the children were.
"Jane, I love you so much. Thank you for last night, I loved making love with you. I am going to take a shower right now." Maura told Jane as she gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and pulled away from her before they could start another kissing marathon.
Jane tried to grab Maura and pull her into her but it was no luck. She told Maura, "I love you also Maur, and I am happy that you loved making love with me. I was a little nervous but I think from here on out I will be okay. I think I will stay right here, Maur. I would love to take a shower with you but I am not sure that I would be able to keep my hands off of you and the children are awake now and I don't want us to be caught in any compromising positions." When she finished her statement, Jane gave Maura the biggest smile she had ever seen.
"I agree, Jane, why don't you enjoy a few more minutes of rest. I will be quick and then you can take a shower while I make the coffee and start breakfast."
"Sounds like a plan, Maur, thank you."
"You are welcome, my love, now close your eyes and relax."
Jane didn't need to be told twice. She closed her eyes and threw the blanket back over her head. She knew that Maura would wake her when it was time for her to take a shower. Half an hour later, Maura woke Jane for her shower. The children were watching cartoons in the living room when Maura arrived downstairs. "I am going to make some pancakes for breakfast and after breakfast we will get dressed to go over nonna's."
"Sounds great, mommy." Tony replied.
"I love pancakes, mommy." Zoey added. Maura smiled she loved that Zoey was calling her mommy now. She really loved her little family.
"I know baby, that is why I am making them. Mama and Tony love pancakes also. They will be ready in about fifteen minutes. Mama should be downstairs by then. I will let you know when it is time to wash your hands and come to the table."
"Okay, mommy." They both said in unison and went back to watching cartoons.
They arrived at Angela's at about 11:50. Jane didn't think her ma would mine if they were a few minutes early.
"Oh, my babies." Angela stated as she hugged Tony and Zoey. "I am so happy you are here." Angela was still hugging them as she asked, "Do either one of you want to help me in the kitchen?"
"Really, nonna." Tony exclaimed.
"Yes, my sweet boy. I love to have help in the kitchen. Zoey has helped me before and she enjoyed it."
"I did Tony. Nonna is a great teacher. I even have my own apron." Zoey informed him as she moved a little in her nonna's grip and grabbed her apron and put it on. She then grabbed a spare apron for him to put on.
He took the apron from Zoey and put it on and told Angela, "I would love to help nonna." Angela released her hug on the children. Jane and Maura had been standing there being completely ignored by Angela. Jane was standing behind Maura hugging her from behind and resting her head on Maura's shoulder as she watched her mother interact with her grandchildren.
They were swaying slightly as Jane whispered sweet nothings in Maura's ears. Angela had glanced over several times and saw the smiles on their faces. She was happy that her daughter was so happy. Angela liked Maura and knew she was good for Jane. It still concerned her because she knew that other people wouldn't be as accepting of their relationship.
Tony and Zoey moved to the sink so that they could wash their hands. Jane asked her mother, "So is it time for you to acknowledge us now?"
"Jane, don't be silly. I always acknowledge you."
"Ma, we have been here for almost five minutes and you haven't said a word to us."
Angela walked over and hugged Maura, "It's so great that you could join us today. I hope you enjoy your first Rizzoli family dinner."
"Thank you, Angela. I am looking forward to it."
Angela hugged her daughter, "It is nice that you can come over for dinner. It has been months Janie."
"I know ma. I have been busy with work."
"And Maura and Tony." Angela said as she smiled at the two women.
"Yes, our relationship was new and I didn't want to scare them off with our crazy family." They all laughed and were then interrupted by Zoey.
"Nonna, when are we going to start cooking?"
"I wish you mother was excited about cooking as you are."
"Mommy, loves to cook, but mama that is another story."
Jane looked at her mother and just smiled and turned her head to rest back on Maura's shoulder. Angela was surprised at what she just heard Zoey say but she let it go and didn't say anything. She motioned for the children to come over so that she can instruct them on their responsibilities. Jane and Maura moved to the barstools at the kitchen island.
Over the next hour Angela conversed with Jane and Maura while also continuing to instruct the children. She was enjoying getting to know Maura and Tony. Frankie and Tommy arrived and Angela greeted them and then introduced Maura and Tony. Frankie and Tommy looked at Tony and then Jane. Jane just smiled. They were both confused. Tony was the spitting image of Jane.
"Frankie and Tommy, Maura is my girlfriend and Tony is my biological son that I gave up for adoption ten years ago."
"Wait, you're gay?" Frankie asked as Tommy stood beside him wondering the same thing.
Jane was surprised that her brothers went to the fact that she was dating a woman instead of that she had a baby ten years ago and gave him up for adoption. "Well, no but yes. I am in love with Maura. I hope you don't have a problem with that."
Tommy was first to speak, "I didn't know you liked women, Janie."
"I didn't until I met Maura." Jane smiled at Maura as she said that. Tommy noticed as Maura smiled lovingly back at Jane.
Frankie hit Tommy on the arm and said, "Hey, if Janie likes Maura, I have no problem with it. As long as she is happy that is all I care about and Janie you look very happy."
"I am and so is Maura and both of the children." They all looked at the children smiling and laughing with Angela in the kitchen. "Tony, can you come over here?"
"Sure mama." He quickly replied and turned to walk over to Jane.
"He calls you mama?" Tommy asked.
"Yes, and before you ask Zoey calls Maura, mommy. We have been dating and spending quite a bit of time together as a family. Tony these are my brothers, your uncles, Frankie and Tommy."
They both shook hands with Tony and talked with him for a few minutes. When Tony went back to the kitchen, Tommy asked, "Is that why you haven't been coming around for family dinners?"
"Part of the reason, yes, but not the whole reason." Both Frankie and Tommy raised their eyebrows at that. "I had to work things out about myself and feel secure enough in myself before I could be around my family."
"Oh, that is understandable." Frankie told her. "That is a big change for you."
"Yes, but I am cool about it now and I don't want to hide my relationship with Maura and Tony. I plan on them being around for quite a long time." Jane placed a quick kiss to Maura's cheek and pulled her into a hug.
Relatives started arriving and Maura and Tony seemed to be the hit of the gathering. Most of the twenty or so family members gathered didn't care that Jane was involved with a woman. Although Maura was somewhat shy, they could tell how much Jane cared about her and that was all they needed to know. Maura was friendly and Jane was happy so they were happy. They were more surprised with the fact that Tony was Jane's biological son.
Tony was a little overwhelmed meeting all of his relatives but he handled it well. Jane and Maura were so proud of him. He kept a smile on his face. Zoey stayed right by his side. She loved her older brother and wanted to show him off to the rest of the family.
Various relatives had shared stories of when Jane was little with Tony. He was laughing so hard at times he was doubled over. Jane could only imagine what stories were being told. Zoey was laughing just as hard as Tony. She was sure that Zoey would relay some of the stories to her later.
Jane wished that her cousin, Arianna, could have been there. Arianna was her favorite cousin. Growing up everyone thought that they were sisters, if not twins, as they resembled each other so much. Arianna lived in Italy with her family and they only saw each other once a year, sometimes more.
They had a nice dinner. Angela as usual cooked way too much food. Her sister-in-law and several of her older nieces pitched in to help her serve the dinner and clean up afterwards. Angela loved the help from the family. She only wished that Jane had taken an interest in cooking and learning the family recipes. Maura had come out to the kitchen at one point when some of Jane's cousins borrowed Jane to play a little touch football out in the backyard. Angela could tell that Maura had an interest in cooking and learning.
To go boxes where prepared for anybody that wanted some leftovers. Tony loved the cannolis and made sure that some went in their leftover box. Jane and Maura stayed until everyone had left. They spoke with Angela some more before Zoey fell asleep in Maura's arms. Jane carried Zoey out to the car and strapped her into her car seat.
Angela almost didn't want to let her grandchildren go. She loved them so much. Jane wondered if she loved them more than she loved her. It might just be possible she thought after she barely received a goodbye from her mother. Maura just smiled. She was happy that the family accepted her and Tony.
They went back to Maura's. On the way home Maura commented, "That was fun, Jane, thank you for inviting me. I wasn't sure how your family was going to react to our relationship and the fact that Tony is your biological son." Both Tony and Zoey were sound asleep in the back seat.
"I had a feeling that they would be okay with our relationship, all they ever wanted was for me to be happy. They saw how happy we were and didn't question our relationship. It didn't matter that we were both women. I am happy, you are happy, the children are happy, what else matters?"
"So true, Jane, nothing else should matter. Are there always so many people at the Rizzoli family dinners?"
"No, every couple of months we have a large gathering. This just happened to be that gathering. I didn't want to wait though. I am tired of hiding our relationship. I am proud to be your girlfriend. However, I think we should use the word partner. It has a nice ring to it. Girlfriend is nice, I mean if you prefer that I will stay with that."
"I like that, so you are my partner."
"Yes, I love the sound of that."
After putting the children to bed. Jane and Maura were sitting in the living room when Maura turned to Jane and asked her, "will you and Zoey move in with me and Tony?"
