Chapter 5: Relations
Toko wiggled and when her eyes opened she saw the back of Komaru's head. She peeked up over her and saw she was reading. Toko couldn't help but glance it the pictures. Toko's eyes widened and her cheeks started to glow. 'Two girls kissing? Is that why she's interested in me?' Toko felt uncomfortable, her arms tightened. Komaru shuffled and closed the book. "Toko? You awake?" Toko hummed in response. Her leg shuffled and felt bear skin. Her eyes widened as she realized Komaru was wearing absolute nothing. She was going to push away, but hands lovingly touched her own. "Omaru... did we...?" Toko started but couldn't get the words out. Komaru blushed but nodded gently, "A-are you mad?". Toko thought about it but nuzzled a soft 'No' into the messy hair. "I just wished I remembered it." She mumbled sadly. Komaru's heart ached. She knows Toko and Syo didn't share memories, but they do feel the same emotions. "May I turn?" Komaru asked.
"Y-yes! O-of course!" Toko panicked, loosening her grip. Toko looked away when Komaru's chest came into view. "You're so sweet Toki." Komaru lifted herself, placing a kiss on Toko's cheek. She was surprised when Toko turned to kiss back. Lips pressed hard against each other, arms rewrapped around, chest pressed together through a the single piece of fabric. Both jumped when a knock came to the door. Instinctively, Toko pulled Komaru closer protectively. They both relaxed and chuckled before calling. "Give us a minute!"
Toko was able to dress herself quickly and she cracked the door to see Makoto. "Oh... hi Naegi. Y-you're sister is getting dressed." She mumbled behind the door. "Oh, alright." Makoto looked uncomfortable then shifted his glance back up to Toko. "How are you Fukawa? We didn't get to talk yesterday."
"You're only talking to me because you want your sister, right?" She growled.
"You didn't change much, but no. I really did miss you."
"Miss me Hu? Sorry, but I'm already taken."
"Yes, I get it. I wasn't flirting Fukawa."
"Good Morning Brother!" Komaru bounced as she gently opened the door. Toko stepped aside with a smirk on her face. "I knew you had a brother complex." Komaru whipped around, "I do not!" Toko chuckled before walking back inside. She grabbed the bag that was left at her desk and strolled passed the siblings.
In the lobby, Toko noticed her old classmates had gathered around a table. They were laughing and slouched along the chairs and sofa's. Byakuya was distant, but still chimed in. That was, until he caught sight of the writer. His mood quickly changed for the worst. Toko swallowed as she walked past him. 'Why is he so mad at me? Does he know I cheated on him?! Shit, how do I...'
"Fukawa." He sneered, snapping Toko from her thoughts. She spun on her heals, but didn't make eye contact. She didn't say anything, but nodded in response. "Good, you learned something." He got up out of his chair and strolled over to her. 'Shit! What do I do?! Is he going to scold me? I don't want him to yell!' Toko began to sweat from her inner panic. "You really need to shower." He stopped and plugged his nose with a sneer. "S-Sorry! I forgot we had company." Toko bowed in respect. Byakuya straightened himself but still glared down at her. "You're still the worst..."
Toko jumped when a figure slipped in front of her. "Don't EVER talk to her like that again!" Komaru growled in Byakuya's face. She was red with anger, hands out to protect her loved one. "Komaru." Toko breathed in shock, eyes wide. "I don't know how you can like such a lowlife like..."
"Don't!" She protested angrily. "Toko is very important to me. If she bothers you that much, then leave her alone."
A loud 'Ch' slipped past the blonde's lips before he spoke. "Toko follows me around like a lost puppy, She..."
"What? She hasn't said a single thing to you sense you got back. Are you trying to get her attention?" Komaru's eyes sharpened. Toko let out a small peep as her hand rested on Komaru's back.
"Me want her attention? Ha, you can have her. She's nothing to me." He spat, turning away.
Toko's heart sank, but when Komaru turned around with worry in her eyes, it skipped. "Toki are you alright? He didn't hurt you did he?"
"N-No. Not at all... I can fight my own battles you know." Toko gave a sweet smile with a gentle touch to Komaru's hand. "But thank you Omaru. I mean it." Toko looked around really quick and when she didn't see any eyes on them, she grabbed Komaru's shirt and gave her a quick kiss.
Komaru lead the group to the sewer and Toko tailed behind. Her hand gripped the stun gun tightly. "I have a bad feeling." She mumbled to herself. It wasn't a sickening feeling, but anything could jump out. The Bunker was still being used because of the rogue Monokumas, but it didn't only hold the adults but many of the kids too. An agreement was made and everyone took care of everyone. "Pupupu." The laughter of a bear got Toko's attention. "Oh no you don't." She growled, raising the stun gun to her head and pulled the trigger.
"Move out of the way!" Syo laughed as she ran passed her old classmates. Once she spotted Komaru she skidded to a stop. "Syo? What's the... Ah!?" Komaru's cheeks where squished by Syo's palms. "Phew~ everyone seems peachy! Ahaha! I got ambushed by teddies. I just wanted to make sure my darling was alright. Not that I was worried or anything." Syo laughed it off, removing her hands from Komaru's face. "Why was I in the back?" She asked scratching her head. Komaru smiled, "Because Toko insisted. She said if I got ambushed you would come up from behind, and if You couldn't handle an ambush you could run after us with a warning."
"Oooh~ smart. I am a fast runner."
"You did make sure to get them all, right?" Byakuya sneered. Syo glanced at him then back to Komaru, "I made sure to get them all. I couldn't have them sneaking up on you~" If Syo had a tail it would have been wagging violently. The aura around her felt bright and cheerful. A little embarrassed, Komaru gave Syo a few head pats. "Good job Syo, Everyone is safe because of you." Syo purred in delight before looking around the confused crowd. "What are all you looking at?" Syo huffed. Komaru was going to calm her down but Kirigiri stepped up. "Nothing, you just startled us." Syo smiled and eyed the bag Kiri had. "Oh! Yes, hello Kiri! So that's what's going on. Gotcha, let's not dilly dally!" Syo skipped back to her place in line happily.
Before they headed out to the bunker that morning, Toko asked Makoto and Kiri to hold onto her bag. Two dresses and pairs of shoes, along with hygiene items, were packed neatly. Toko and Syo had arranged a party behind Komaru's back. Her birthday was coming up and after being locked up and forced to fight, she needed something special. Makoto was also filled In before they even arrived.
Once everyone was outside the bunker, Toko stepped up to the tattered door. "They still haven't fixed this mess?" She scolded. "Give them a brake Toki, after everything that happened, I'm surprised there is still a door here at all."
"Fine, let's just go in."
The group entered the bunker and were greeted warmly. "Koko, Fufu it's so good to... " Hiroko paused her greeting when her eyes landed on Yasuhiro. Her eyes started to water and she dropped her cigarette. "Yasuhiro?! Is that you!?" She asked in shock. "Mom? Mom!" He ran up to her sobbing, holding her close as soon as he reached her. "Jeez... I should have seen that coming." Toko chuckled to herself. She looked over at Komaru, who had a soft, sad smile. Toko's smile dropped but she scooted closer. Her hand found Komaru's and held it tight. "Do you think my parents are alright?" Komaru breathed. "Whatever we find... I'm here for you." Toko stretched out her fingers and wove them between Komaru's. "Thank you Toko."
The group was eventually welcomed inside and shown to the back room. The table was cleaned and full of food and drinks. "Oh wow! This is amazing!" Komaru's eyes lit up. "There is even a cake." Toko added, sounding a bit smug. "Cake?! Really?!" Makoto handed Toko the bag as he spoke up, "Yep, It's for all your hard work, and happy reunions! Not to mention your birthday."
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot my own birthday." Komaru calmed herself down and noticed the bag. "Toko, isn't that the bag with the dress you got me?"
"What else would it be? Let's go get changed." Toko smirked with a bit of sarcasm in her tone. "Both of us?" Komaru asked. She had no idea Toko actually picked something up for herself. "Yep, This is my first party. I didn't want to go in this." Toko motioned to her ripped up skirt. "You planned this?" Komaru questioned. "I-I um... had a hand in it. Now come on, let's get going." Toko pushed Komaru out and into a shipping container that was set up for them.
The two didn't look at each other as they undressed and slipped their dresses on. Komaru's was a short silver dress, and after she zipped it up she turned and stood in shock. Toko's dress was a long red dress with a slit in the side. She let her hair down, and was currently pulling it up into a partial bun. "T-T-Toko?!"
The writer turned as she snapped her hair tie into place. Her eyes softened when she saw Komaru. "Yes dear?" Toko answered with a blush. Komaru rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times. "Wow~ you look ...STUNNING!"
Toko smiled sheepishly, "Y-you mean it?"
"Yes!! Toko... " Komaru walked closer. She took both of Toko's clammy hands and held them to her chest. "Toko, I love you! And the way you look right now..." She swallowed hard. "I can't take my eyes off you!"
Toko wiggled timidly as her face turned a bright red. "I-I love y-you t...Mm?" Lips crashed together longingly. Fingers intertwined tightly. Toko had to push Komaru away. "Darling, I really want nothing more then to continue, but you're brother and everyone is waiting... I would actually prefer if we continued..." she mumbled with a small tremble but picked herself up, "but then the planning would go to waste. Let's enjoy this moment for now. We have plenty of time to love each other." Toko smiled, gently letting go of Komaru's hands to cup her cheek. "Now, do you want your hair a certain way? It's so short..."
After playing around with Komaru's hair, they decided to tie it back with a ribbon. "Cute~" Toko swooned before packing up her bag. They finally walked out of the makeshift room and joined the others.
"Happy Birthday!" Everyone yelled as The two girls walked in. Komaru chuckled, holding tightly to Toko's hand. She thanked everyone and took a seat. Toko sat beside her. Kirigiri sat next to Toko, Makoto sat next to Komaru. They talked back and forth as they ate. The drinks provided were different wines and some forms of rum and vodka. "Are you sure we should be drinking?" Komaru asked. "Considering what we've been through, I don't see an issue." Toko jumped in, taking a sip of her glass of wine. "Honestly this isn't my first time." Makoto scratched his head. "Normally Syo is the drinker." Toko confessed. "You let Syo drink?!" Komaru slammed her hand on the table. "I don't let her! You think I have that much control?" Toko protested. Komaru stared before breaking into a smile, "You are so adorable." Toko looked away with embarrassment as she drank more.
"So Komaru, Is your boyfriend here?" Mokoto asked, not noticing Toko choking in surprise. "Boyfriend?" Komaru asked making Makoto tilt his head in confusion. "He's basically asking who bit you." Kirigiri added calmly. Toko turned her head to watch Komaru cover the bite. "Oh... yes they are here, but..."
"But? Did he hurt you? Do you need me to pick a fight?" Makoto questioned. "No! No no no, they didn't hurt me!" Komaru's eyes shifted. "Komaru?" Toko called, laying her hand on her girlfriend's. Komaru turned with a silent 'Help me?' "Komaru~ let's go get some dessert!" Toko took Komaru's arm and pulled, and Komaru happily followed. "Thanks Toko."
"You haven't figured it out yet?" Kirigiri smirked as she sipped on her drink. "Figured out what?" Makoto asked. "Take a look at Komaru." Kiri pointed at the two chuckling around the desert table. "What about my sister?"
"Look at how she talks to Toko. Look at her face and body language."
"Alright." Makoto agreed and obeyed. The two were talking and laughing to themselves, like normal. He really couldn't tell what Kiri wanted him to pick up. "I don't really see anything out of the ordinary, but they seem really close." Kiri huffed, "Then look at their hands." Makoto's eyes shifted to see the two holding hands. "I still... "
"Really Makoto? You should know your own sister more then me." Kiri was annoyed and turned her focus back to her drink.
"Do you want to tell him?" Toko asked as Komaru shoved a spoon full of pudding into her mouth. "Eh... I don't really care either way, but he should mind his own business. It's not like we are super close. Plus... I don't want him to pester you. My sweet Toko~" Komaru purred, popping a chocolate into her mouth. "Maybe you should slow down my love. I don't want you to get sick." Toko voiced her concern. Komaru licked her lips, "But I'll never know when I can eat them again!" She protested. Toko smiled, wiping a chocolate smear off Komaru's lip, and licked her finger clean. "I can bake you some goodies if that's what you wish. I'm not a baker... but I'm really good at following recipes."
"Really? You can do that?"
"Well... my only wish was to become someone's wife someday... I'm not the best but I'm average."
Komaru looked at Toko lovingly, squeezing her hand. "You don't give yourself enough credit. Even if you couldn't cook, I would still marry you."
Toko's face lit up, "S-still m-marry m-me?!" She stuttered uncontrollably. Komaru chuckled before a loud blast of music filled the hall. Toko jumped up and covered her ears. "Sorry about that." Hiroko called out as the music softened, allowing Toko to relax. "You alright Toki?" Komaru rubbed her thumb along Toko's knuckles. "I-I'm fine. Thank you." Toko mumbled. Komaru listened to the music and smiled. "Toki, will you dance with me?"
In shock, Toko's lips curled up into a smile. "Well... Um... Im not much of a dancer, but Syo might enjoy it. If that's alright." She held up a piece of her curls up to her nose, waiting for an answer. "If you're alright with it. I love both sides of you, you know."
Toko hummed happily as she stared to tickle her nose. "Achoooo!"
"Ahahah! Hu?" Syo looked down at the beautiful red dress. "Oh! I get to party too? Hell ya!" She busted out laughing, and didn't stop until Komaru touched her shoulder. "Syo, would you like to dance with me?"
"Of course Honey~ Let's boogie!" Syo turned quickly and took Komaru's soft hands. When they found a spot, Syo moved her hands to Komaru's hips and Komaru's to Syo's shoulders. "Isn't this a little too close?" Komaru asked. "Nah, I like being close. I only want to focus on you, my love."
Komaru's blush dusted her cheeks. "You're such a flirt."
"You like it. You're almost melting into my arms~ I could just eat you up." Syo leaned over and kissed her previous bite. "You would miss me." Komaru chuckled softly. Syo straightened up with wide red eyes, they softened and she couldn't help but smash her lips onto Komaru's. She pulled away reluctantly and breathed, "I would. I don't want to live without you."
Makoto's eyes widened. "Toko just...!?!?"
"Kissed your sister? Why wouldn't she kiss her girlfriend?" Kirigiri smirked, watching Makoto lean back against his chair. "So that's what you wanted me to see." He breathed. "So, are you alright with it?" Kiri asked. Makoto sighed with a smile, "She can make her own decisions. Besides... I'm scared of her genocider side."
Kiri chuckled, "Toko has been protecting her this whole time. It's not surprising she grew attached."
"Do you think they're good for each other? Should I be worried?" Makoto asked. "I don't think you have anything to worry about. You know how Toko is, she doesn't let go easily. I think she's finally at peace, hopeful even." Kiri relaxed, holding a gloved hand to Makoto. He took it happily.
Syo danced her heart out as Komaru played along. Once things started to calm down, the killer noticed the collection of drinks. "Dekumaru?" She pouted with puppy dog eyes. "What the matter?" A clueless Komaru tilted her head. "Can I have a drink? I promise to be good."
"A drink? Oh! I suppose so, but only a little please." Komaru answered as her arms released her lover's neck. "I can?! You're the best!" Syo gave a quick kiss before running off on her own.
An hour had passed and Komaru began to get worried. Syo ran off and now there was no sign of her. "Makoto. Kirigiri. Have you seen Toko? She went to get a drink, but I haven't seen her since."
"No we haven't, but I doubt she wondered far." Kiri said calmly. "I wouldn't worry about her too much. She gets anxious about people, so I bet she's somewhere quiet." Makoto added. "I had no idea. I guess I never noticed." Komaru's eyes lowered as she thought, 'I should have noticed! My brother knows her better then I do!'
"We've known her for a few years now, so don't worry about it." Kiri noticed the change so she wanted to reassure her. Mokoto realized and added, "She is definitely more outgoing then before, and not in her normal toxic way." Komaru chuckled, "Thank you. I'm going to look for her." She waved happily as she ran off.
"Toko?" Komaru called as she entered the makeshift room from earlier. She was surprised to see a rum bottle laying in the doorway. "Syo? Toko? Are you in here?" She called again. No answer. Komaru took out her hacking tool and used detect. Droplets appeared. Cautiously, Komaru fallowed them to a corner. A body was discovered! Komaru fell to her knees. "Toko!?" She shook the figure in the dark. She ran her fingers along the dress and found a leg. With a sigh of relief she breathed, "She's alive... Toki? Are you ok?" She crawled up the lap and sat patiently. Reaching for a hand in the dark, she found another bottle. "Syo I told you not to drink so much." Her hand reached up carefully, as soon as she felt Toko's wet cheeks she hesitated. 'She was crying?!'
Toko's body took in a deep breath with a shudder. "Dark... so dark." She muttered sadly, making Komaru's heart twist in her chest. "Yes, I'm sorry. Let me go get a light." Komaru began to stand when she felt arms wrap around her torso. "Dekumaru? Did you find little old me?" Syo hiccuped as a small laugh passed her lips. "Syo? What were you thinking? Don't you hate the darkness too?"
"..."
"Syo, what's wrong?"
"I'm sorry..."
"Sorry for what dear?"
Syo's arms tightened, and her voice softened. "I drank more then I should've."
"That's alright. You're not hurt right? Ah?!" Syo pulled Komaru closer, pressing her face into Komaru's soft, partially covered chest. "You're so caring my love~ you should be more carful around me. Im not as innocent as you think." Syo mumbled with loud breaths.
"Syo, I know you wouldn't hurt me on purpose. If you need anything, I'm here for you."
"What if I kill you?"
"You won't."
"How do you know?"
"Because you would have already done it. You've liked me for awhile now right?"
Syo nuzzled closer, "Yes. Ever since I met you, my heart kept pounding like crazy! At first I thought it was just the adrenaline, but after we fought I've been so happy! As crazy as that sounds."
Komaru chuckled as her fingers played with the loose strands of Syo's hair. "So did it make you happy to shred my clothes?"
"Ahah~ Yes~ I love your thick curbs.~ I'm surprised I wasn't into it to begin with."
Blushing, Komaru pulled on Syo's hair a little rough. As soon as her head leaned back Komaru pressed their lips together. Syo moaned softly as her body slowly moved on its own. Gripping and scratching under the short dress. Syo sat up slowly without braking the kiss. Her fangs lightly bit down on Komaru's soft lips. Her blunt nails raked up Komatu's thighs until she reached the stap of the blue striped underwear. Without hesitation, her fingers slipped under them. "Syo ~ this isn't..." Komaru mumbled as Syo released the now swollen lip. "I love you." Syo purred as her thumbs rubbed the sides of Komaru's hips. "Do you really mean that?" She questioned. "With all my heart. I would kill for you." Syo purred, allowing her hands to wonder. Komaru yelped as Syo's cold hands teased her. "My Dekumaru is so cute~" she played with the fabric as she leaned in for another kiss. The darkness was so thick, Syo didn't realize Komaru's locks were long enough to reach her nose.
"Komaru, I'm gonna..." Syo looked away quickly and let out a loud sneeze.
Komaru covered Toko's eyes as she composed herself. "Toko, are you alright?" She asked softly. "I feel so warm~ Komaru? Is the party over?"
"Let me get a lantern. Do you want to come with me?"
"Why is your hand on my eyes? AND WHY am I in your underwear?!" Toko panicked in her drunken haze. "Sh~ I didn't want to scare you. Take my hands, let's go get some light. Toko whimpered as they stood up. Her arms quickly wrapped themselves around Komaru for reassurance. "Why is it so dark?!" She complained, choking back a sob. "I'm right here my love. Hold on tight." Komaru didn't have to say that twice, Toko was practically clinging to her in fear, and began to cry on her shoulder. "Toko, I'm right here. I know it's dark, but I'm not going to let anything happen to you, ok?"
"But... b-but..."
"Sh~ it's alright. Here listen to my heart, take a deep breath, and count backwards from ten. Let's calm those nerves." Her hands gently pet the top of the other's head.
Toko did as she was told. She laid her head on Komaru's chest, listening to the soft echoes of her heartbeat. Her arms relaxed as she took in a breath. " Ten, nine, eight..." Toko breathed again, "Seven, Six, five, four..." she closed her eyes with a hum, before continuing. "Three, two, one."
"That's my girl. You're so strong Toko."
Toko stumbled around the party room clinging onto Komaru as if the room was just as dark. "I see you found her." Makoto chuckled, walking up to his sister casually. "I did. She just needed to cool off a bit. Right Toki?"
Toko's face became warm as the familiar nickname hit her ears. She nodded in response. Makoto chuckled before engaging himself into conversation with his sister. Toko mainly ignored him and tried to regain her composure. She slowly stood up on her own, feeling a bit dizzy. "Im never gonna drink again." She proclaimed in a mumble. Her fingers felt warm again Komaru's. Komaru is warm, she thought. Slowly, she leaned up against Komau's back. "So warm~" she purred.
