Chapter 8: Ghostly Joust

(6th Floor of the hotel)

The elevator arrived and Luigi stuck his flashlight out the elevator door. Luigi nervously shook as he tried to see if there were any ghosts around. However, a metal weapon being held by a suit of armor fell near the elevator door.

Bandana Dee- Uh…what's a halberd, no pun intended relates to Meta Knight, doing here?

Then Tails looked at their surroundings.

Tails- Uh…what's a medieval castle doing in this hotel?

Then Luigi and the others looked around and saw Tails was right. This entire floor looked to be a mediaeval castle.

Rottytops- Ok…this seems out of place. I can understand the lobby, the garage, the guest suites, the shopping district, the kitchen, and even the music theater. But this really doesn't belong in a hotel!

Luigi- Let's just find what we need on this floor, because the sooner we get this done, the better!

Diddy Kong- You don't think there's a floor connected to Subspace…

Before Diddy could finish, Luigi and Tails instantly covered Diddy's mouth with their hands.

Tails- Don't jynx it, Diddy!

Luigi- Yeah! The last thing we want right now if for Tabuu to get involved somehow!

(Later on the 6th floor)

Luigi, Diddy Kong, Bandana Dee, Tails, and Rottytops got inside this one room in this mediaeval themed floor, but little did they know this room was not what it appeared to be.

Rottytops- Guys…this isn't a castle room.

Luigi- What makes you say that?

Rottytops- As a zombie, I'm actually much older than I look. Similar to how Shantae's mother was actually part of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team 1,000 years ago. But anyway, I know the design of this isn't of a castle…

Then the spotlights shined on them and the room was lit up.

Rottytops- It's a jousting arena…

Then these ghosts were seen playing these medieval trumpets as if to announce this ghost who was dressed like a king who was sitting in this large booth in the audience.

King MacFrights- Here yee! Here yee! Welcome one and all. For tonight's royal joust, I give to you the assholes who've been ransacking the Last Resort and using those fancy vacuums to suck up all the hotel employees!

Ghosts in the audience- BOOOOOOOOO!

Tails- We don't have time for!

Luigi- What makes you think we'll play your games?

King MacFrights- Oh…you'll compete alright. After all…

Then King MacFrights pulls out an elevator button and holds it in front of them.

King MacFrights- You want this button to get to the next floor, don't you?

Then King MacFrights possessed a nearby suit of armor with a wooden horse attached to it. After King MacFrights got in the armor, he rushed at Luigi. Luckily, he was able to dodge it. Then King MacFrights raised his lance and several smaller doors opened up around the arena as flaming arrows were shot at them.

Diddy Kong- Incoming!

Diddy Kong jumped over the flaming arrows and Tails flew out of the way. Bandana Dee used this spear to deflect the flaming arrows away from him. Luigi and Rottytops managed to avoid them before the flaming arrows could hit them. Then King MacFrights attempted to charge at Luigi and Rottytops with his lance. But then Diddy Kong shined his flashlight just before MacFrights could reach them and caused him to retreat back into that armor he was possessing like a turtle shell. Then Bandana Dee shot a plunger at the armor.

Bandana Dee- Luigi, now's your chance!

Then Luigi suck on the rope attached to the plunger and managed to perform a slam on King MacFrights. After slamming the armor to the ground for the third time, the armor and the wooden horse. The only thing that remained was a sword and a shield, so King MacFrights picked that up to use instead.

King MacFrights- Fine. I'll just do this the old fashion way.

Diddy Kong- Where's Marco's sword when you need it?

Tails- Don't you mean, where's Link when you need him?

Diddy Kong- No, I meant Marco Mario's sword! I know Link is the swordsman of the Super Mario Brothers' Team, I we all saw Mario had his ancestor's sword on person when we arrived at this hotel! Besides, I heard Link and Ty were investigating a situation in Hyrule involving a raise called the Minish. And that Ash and Pit were looking for a missing Poke'mon Trainer in a spooky mansion somewhere in the Sinnoh Region. Ironic, considering what we're going through right now. Which is why they declined the invite this hotel.

Then King MacFrights swung his sword like how Link swings his sword spin attack. Luckily, Bandana Dee blocked with his spear.

Bandana Dee- Funny how my spear can't touch you ghosts, but I can still use it against a weapon you try to use against me!

Then Luigi and Tails flashed King MacFrights while he was distracted with Bandana Dee. Allowing Rottytops to begin sucking him up with her Poltergust. King MacFrights tried to cling to the sword he was using in an attempt to prevent himself from getting sucked up, but it didn't work and Rottytops trapped him in her Poltergust. But Rottytops' Poltergust spat out the elevator button King MacFrights had.

Rottytops- That sure was a royal capture. And we got the next elevator button.

Tails- This time it's for the 7th floor.

Bandana Dee- Think we'll find Kirby on the next floor this time or any of our other friends?

Luigi- I doubt it, but it can't get weirder than this mediaeval themed floor.
