Bad Table
"Noah, are you watchin' th'boys?!" Annabelle called out from the kitchen. She knew Noah could take care of the twins without any problems, but, now that the twins were crawling, they got into everything.
"Aye, Woman! I'm watchin' them!" he called back.
Suddenly, she heard a loud thud then crying and she quickly turned the burner off. She placed the pot on the back burner then she wiped her hands off with the tea towel then she ran into the front room. Noah was standing near the coffee table with a crying Murphy in his arms and Connor was sitting on the floor, crying.
"What happened!?" she demanded while she stormed to Noah and Noah was gently rubbed Murphy's forehead.
"How should I know?! One minute they were crawlin' then he slammed his head into th'coffee table leg," Noah said with a sigh and Murphy reached out for her. She could see the red mark on Murphy's forehead as she removed him from his da's arms and she held him.
"Oh, my poor baby. Let me see," she said as she took a better look at the small lump appearing on her son's forehead and she barely kissed the lump. Murphy calmed down as he placed his thumb in his mouth then he placed his wet cheek against her left shoulder. Noah saw the fury in her eyes as he sighed and she placed her right fist against her right hip. "I thought you said you were watchin' them!"
"I was, Woman," Noah said in his defense and she looked at the football match on the black and white television. "Fine. I was watchin' th'match."
Connor crawled to Noah when he swatted at Noah's legs and Noah looked down at him.
"No, Connor. You don't hit Da," Annabelle said. Frowning, Connor crawled to the coffee table when he started smacking the coffee table leg and Annabelle and Noah smiled.
"Aye. Bad table," Noah said as Connor sat on his bottom and he gave them a proud look. Annabelle handed Murphy to Noah when she went back into the kitchen and Noah leaned down to pick Connor off the floor. Noah walked to the recliner as he sat down with his sons on his lap and he leaned over, kissing the bump on Murphy's forehead. Sighing, he went back to watching the football match and the twins placed their heads against his chest.
