DM77's Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories Finale

Memory Chain Fractured

The group run out of the doorway back into the previous room. J, Doom, Hiro, Togami and Lilac quickly push the doors closed and Emerl uses his keyblade on the door sealing and locking the room for good and the door fades leaving only a blank white wall where the door once stood.

"You okay, Metal?" Emerl asked the replica of his best friend.

"Not Metal Sonic. I'm a fake." Metal Replica said to him "I can't remember why I was created or where or when…All that's inside of me is time with you and Windblade. But I know those memories are not real."

"I didn't know Shockwave well, but he was secreative with his research but it seemed this replica project was his life's work given how he boasted about my clone." J said thinking "Can't say I can help you on the memory front."

"Well, Windblade, can't you use your magic to put Metal's memories back to normal?" Hiro asked.

"Well, I…" Windblade said thinking.

"It's all right. I can deal with it." Metal Replica said to them. He then turns and begins to walk down the hall.

"Wait!" Emerl called out stopping him "Who cares if someone created you? Or in us robot's case someone else created you? You are you and nobody else. You have your own heart inside you. Those feelings and memories are yours and yours alone. They're special!"

"Emerl, you're a good person." Metal Replica said after a small pause. He then turns to look at him "I don't have to be real to see how real your feelings are. That's good enough." He then continues to walk away.

"Metal!" Emerl called out but this time the replica keeps walking down the corridor without stopping "Metal…"

"It's okay Emerl, he's made his choice. He has his own journey to go on" J said and the Gizoid nods.

Togami sighs and looks to Windblade "Do you think you can put our memories back?"

"Yes. Not remembering something doesn't really mean that it's gone." Windblade said with a nod

"What do you mean?" Lilac asked curious.

"When you remember one thing, that leads to remembering another and then another and then another." Windblade explained "Our memories are connected. Many pieces are linked together like they're in a chain that makes up each of us." She sighs "I don't actually erase memories just take apart the links and rearrange them. You still have all your memories."

"So, you can put them back together?" RiCO asked appearing and smiling.

"Yes," Windblade and looks at J "Well mostly, J your memories were removed after I worked on you to be used in Shockwave's experiments but you should still have some lingering memories after I thought about it that I can use to least give you some of them back."

"So I will be able to remember who I was before Marr found me at least?" J asked

"Maybe so, but for all of that for each, I first have to undo the chains of the memories I made on my own." Windblade states "After I've done that, I have to gather up the memories scattered across each of your hearts and then reconnect them. It might take some time. But I think it might work. No it will work. I'm sure." She smiles happily "It's my turn to look after you."

"All right. We all really truest you." Emerl said smiling

"Yeah, I guess so" J said nodding.

"Oh….Wait a second!" RiCO said remembering something "You said you'd have to undo the links of the memories you made. But that means…"

"Yes. You won't be able to remember anything about what happened here." Windblade said sadly

"Not even you?" Emerl said shocked "and what about J?"

"I'm sorry, it's the only way I'm afraid." Windblade said "As for J, you met her before coming to this castle correct?" The group nods "In that case you will still remember her, but you will probably have to work on reestablishing your friendships from their."

"I'm willing for that" J said nodding "Besides I think I will still remember some feeling of adventure with these guys." Lilac and Hiro hug her.

Windblade nods and turns away and said "Emerl, you have a choice. You can lose your memories of this castle and reclaim your old ones…or keep your memories here and give up the memories that you've lost."

"Do I have to….to choose?" Emerl asked sadly.

"This is a hard decision for anyone" Doom admits understanding.

"Yes." Windblade said nodding.

The group look at Emerl who looks down thinking and then sadly looks up and made his choice "Make me like I was."

"Oh, okay." Windblade said turning around "Nobody needs to keep a bunch of memories that aren't real, right? You want to remember all the people who are really important to you. Anybody would choose that."

The group remain silent while Windblade leads the way.

The group come to a white and blue room with nothing in it expecet a large open flower bud white container.

"To remember again, we have to sleep in that?" Togami asked concerned.

"Yes. It's going to take a little time, but I'll take care of you." Windblade said nodding.

"Oh man, when we wake up, we won't remember who you are anymore…" Hiro said sadly.

"But then, how are we going to thank you?" Lilac asked.

"Don't worry about that!" RiCO said appearing out of the pendent J was wearing, she was holding her work pad and said "I'll just make a big note in my journal. And it will say, 'Thank Windblade.'"

"Good, that makes me feel better" Lilac said happily

"Well I guess it's good night then Windblade" Doom said with a nod.

"Good night Doom." Windblade said smiling as she watches him, Lilac, Hiro and Togami leave.

"So…I will not remember much." J said sadly.

"I actually thought on that, you can choose just to go on standby mode and retain your memories with them but unable to speak about them" Windblade said thinking. "With that the chain of memories will let the others remember you clearly too but like them you'll forget about this castle and me."

J thinks on it and nods "Yeah probably for the best, that way least I can know why I am with the group." She and Windblade nod and she goes to join the others leaving on Emerl with Windblade.

"You too, Emerl." Windblade said motioning to the pod.

"Okay." Emerl said nodding and goes to enter the pod.

"All of this may have started with a lie…but I realm am glad that I could meet you, Emerl." Windblade said smiling.

"Yeah, me too." Emerl said nodding "When I finally found you, and even when I remembered your name, I was happy." He turns to her smiling "The way I felt then. That was no lie."

"Goodbye." Windblade said smiling.

"No not goodbye!" Emerl said with a smile "When I wake up, I'll find you. And then there will be no lies. We're gonna be friends for real. Promise me, Windblade."

"You're going to forget making that promise." Windblade told him.

"If the chain of memories comes apart, the links will still be there, right similar to how J being with us will let us remember she is our friend?" Emerl said "So, the memory of our promise will always be inside of me somewhere. I'm sure of it."

"Yeah, you're right." Windblade said smiling "Okay, it's a promise."

"Good. Until later then." Emerl said smiling and the two get closer and make a pinkie promise. He then climbs into the pod.

"A promise… Huh…" Windblade said thinking "Emerl, some of your memories' links are deep in the shadows of your heart and I won't be able to find them similar to J's full past. But don't worry. You made another promise to someone who you could never replace. She is your light. The light within the darkness. Remember her, and all the memories lost in the shadows of your heart will come into the light."

"Another promise…" Emerl said thinking as the pod begins closing up.

"Look at the good luck charm." Windblade suggests "I changed its shape when I changed your memory. But when you thought of her just once, it went back to the way it was."

Emerl nods and pulls out the good luck charm and looks at it and closes his optics to think just as the pod full seals shut. Emerl was left suspended in darkness as he thinks an image of Windblade watches him. He remembers his friends from Hollow Bastian being Qrow, Oscar, Ruby, Blake, Yusai and Akisa and the Destiny Islands being Amy, Sokka and Link. He shakes his head neither of them as he remember Metal Sonic but then remembers the blue and white robot girl.

He gasps and smiles as Emerl says happily "Jenny!" Jenny smiles and when she does lights emit from her and the darkness is removed into a light white void and he looks at the group "My friends…" He looks and sees Windblade pulling away "Windblade?"

"Don't worry. You might forget about me…" Windblade told him and smiles "but with our promise, I can come back."

"A promise is a promise" Emerl said nodding.

"Yes. One day the light it will be ours, and it will bring us together." Windblade added with a nod. Til then, I will be in your heart." She sheds a tear as she smiles

"Right. Forgotten but not lost." Emerl said nodding.

Emerl and Windblade mode as she goes away and Emerl falls into a slumber.

We come to Destiny Islands where Jenny was looking out of the ocean still waiting for her friends return. Sokka, Link and Amy were playing but the pink hedgehog girl stops. He apporches the white and blue robot girl who holds her chest.

"What's wrong Jenny?" Amy asked.

"I don't know I just…feel like I forgotten something." Jenny said.

We come to Metal Sonic Replica walking the hallway but stops when Brutaka appears before him, next to him was the pod containing Replica J.

"What do you want?!" Metal Replica asked concerned.

"Nothing much, just a little offer you might be interested in that can help you with your own quest." Brutaka asked smiling as he offers his hand "Interested?"

We then come to what appears to be Twilight Town where we see a robotic looking silver human with white spikey wear wearing silver armour walking the streets he passed by four people.

The first who was the leader was a boy in purple with a purple beard, the second was apigtailed girl in red, the sedon was a blonde hair girl in a purple school uniform and and the last was a boy with blue hair in a black uniform and hat. All four were eating blue ice cream known as Sea Salt Ice cream.

The robot stops and begins to turn to the group who walked past him.

We then come to a white room with various thrones of various heights and ever armored figures in black cloaks sat upon them. Several of the thrones were empty and all had the same symbol the creature Marr was using had.

Sitting on the highest was a familiar silver armoured warrior, his face still obscured by his hood, this seems to indicate he was the leader of the mysterious organization Marr was on about.

There is always sleep between part and meet with our usual words on the usual street.

We see Windblade watching the pod as Emerl floats and sleeps in it.

So let us part like we always do…And in a world without you I'll dream of you.

With that Chain of Memories is done. Next will be the Riku storyline but first take a break from KH for a while and get to work with Ace Attorney, so look forward to that.
