"Now who's with me?" Maria cried, raising her sword into the air. The whole town cheered. Maria walked to the front of the group while the rest of them got ready. "Hey!" Joaquin called from a roof, horseback. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" he asked, riding down the roof on his horse then jumping off once he hit the ground. There was silence for a moment. "There's no one that big, man!" Pancho called.

Chakal spat. "You and what army?" he asked. Maria and the rest of the townsfolk stepped forward. Chakal growled. "Give me back my medal!" he cried.

"Medal?" Maria asked. She ripped off his left bandolier. Underneath it sits one medal. This one is large and green. It has a skull and an ominous glow. "All of this is about a medal?" Maria growled.

"I can explain later," Joaquin stated. Joaquin pulled out his swords. "Come at me, bro!"

Chakal growled and charged at Joaquin. Joaquin dodged a few swipes at him. Chakal gave up and pulled out his swords. Their swords clashed for a bit before Chakal threw a punch at Joaquin, making him loose his sword and knocking the medal off his clothes. Joaquin laughed nervously as he watched the medal fly until he could no longer see it. He turned back around. "Hey, buddy! Let's just...talk about this!" Joaquin suggested, his voice cracking.

One of the banditos came from the crowd of townsfolk, holding the medal. "Chakal! I got the medal!" He handed it to Chakal.

Four beams of light shot up from the ground. Two next to Joaquin, one next to Maria and the last in front of everyone, including Chakal. Sora rose from the one closest to Joaquin. "Woah!" he said, stumbling as he floated down to the ground. "It's weird having my body back."

"Sora?" Joaquin asked.

"Yep, that's me!" Sora replied, pointing at himself with his thumb.

"But I thought you-"

Sora held up a finger to Joaquin. "Shush."

Joaquin moved his head away from Sora's finger and looked around him. The next beam of light hoisted Goofy through the ground. He landed next to Sora. "Goofy?" Maria asked.

"Hyuck!" Goofy replied.

The beam next to Maria threw Donald into the air. "Waah!" he cried as he fell. Maria caught him before he hit the ground. "Donald?" Maria and Joaquin asked in unison. She gently put him on the floor.

"Wait for it..." Sora said, pointing at the last beam of light. This beam grew wider. Manolo yelled as he flew through the ground, his fist poised. He punched Chakal on the way up, knocking the medal out of his hand. Manolo floated onto the ground, eyes closed.

He opened his eyes then turned around. "Manolo?!" half of the townsfolk cried, including General Posada.

"Manolo? Is that really you?" Joaquin asked.

"Si, amigo," Manolo replied.

"Manolo!" Maria called, running towards him. Manolo grabbed her and spun her around. He dipped her and leaned in. Goofy covered Sora's eyes. "Hey! What's that for?!" Sora cried. He moved his head around Goofy's hand but Goofy adjusted his hand to block Sora's view again.

"You're too young for this, Sora," Goofy replied.

"Plus, they aren't even married yet!" Donald added.

"Come on!" Sora whined. "I want to see!"

Manolo held up a finger to Chakal as he and Maria kissed. Chakal stared at his finger, growing more irritated as the kiss lasted. Manolo put his finger down and helped Maria up, who stood, stunned. Goofy removed his hand. "Come on!" Sora complained. "I've been waiting for that!"

"You're gonna have to wait, Sora," Goofy said.

Sora crossed his arms, huffed, and slumped his shoulders. "If you want San Angel, you're going to have to go through me!" Manolo cried, removing his swords from their scabbards.

"And me!" Joaquin called, standing next to Manolo.

"Me too!" Maria agreed. She held up her sword.

"Us too!" Sora said, standing in the small group of friends. "No retreat!" Maria called, holding up her sword.

"No surrender!" Sora, Donald, Goofy, Manolo and Joaquin finished, putting their weapons with Maria's. They all charged at Chakal. Sora blocked a few slices from Donald. Donald used his magic to slow down Chakal and take out a few of the banditos.

"Sora? We got company!" Joaquin called. Sora looked to see bandit Heartless. "There's so many of them!" Donald said. Goofy threw his shield at a few Heartless, defeating them and knocking over a few banditos. Joaquin threw Goofy's shield back. "Thank you!" Goofy said.

Joaquin waved. He continued to scan the floor. Beams of light shot down from the floor, knocking over anyone standing to close. When the lights dissipated, in their places stand Manolo's whole family.

"Huh?" Manolo said.

"It's the Day of the Dead, Manolo!" Candlemaker called from the roof of the church.

"And on this day," Xibalba started, unfolding his wings, "we have a little bit of leeway." Candlemaker pushed Xibalba's wing down.

"Good luck, Manolo!" La Muerte called, waving.

"Thank you!" Manolo returned.

"Charge!" Carlos cried, pointing his sword into the air. The rest of the Sanchez family charged for some of the smaller bandits, including the Heartless, who have called reinforcements. Now there are, including the Bandits, Soldiers, Big Bodies, Shadows, Skeleton Bandits, Red Nocturnes, Green Requiem, and Yellow Opera. "Sora, look! Some of the previous Heartless!" Donald said, pointing at the mages.

"These guys are easy!" Sora said. "We can handle the Heartless, you guys take care of the big guy."

"Right," Manolo and Joaquin said.

Sora charged at some Heartless, killing them with his Keyblade. Donald used lightning to take out a big chunk. "Sora! Look out!" Goofy cried. Goofy jumped in front of Sora, blocking a swing of Chakal's sword. The sword scraped down his shield and struck again. "Goofy! He's trying to break it!" Sora said.

"It's okay, Sora. He can't break it." A few more clashes on Goofy's shield broke a crack through the center to the top right. "Goofy!" Sora cried.

"Take cover!" Goofy cried.

Sora and Goofy both kneeled down as Chakal threw more strikes at Goofy's shield, the crack expanding with each hit. "JOAQUINNNNNN!" Joaquin called as he ran towards Chakal's sword, and blocked the next hit on Goofy's shield. "You two okay?" he checked.

"Yeah, we're fine," Sora said.

Goofy turned his shield around. A large crack ran through the center to the top right and bottom left. A smaller one ran to the top left. "Goofy, your shield," Sora said.

"It's okay, Sora. I can get a new one. Plus," Goofy pulled out a second pair, this shield large, silver and star shaped, "I brought backup!" Goofy smiled.

"Goofy! You...genius, you!" Sora exclaimed. Chakal grabbed Goofy and threw him at the church building. "Yah-hoo-hoo-hoo-wee!" Goofy cried as he flew towards the wall.

"Goofy!" Sora and Donald cried.

"Sora! Heartless!" Maria called. Sora glanced back at Goofy, unconscious. He ran towards Maria and struck down a few Heartless. "Goofy will be fine," Maria said. "He's strong."

Sora smiled at her. "Right!" He looked up at Chakal's incoming hand. "Maria! Look out!"
