I volunteer first. Ted leads me into a room. He closes the door . I lean on the wall. Ted opens the box . He turns around and looks at me
"When did you start to scare of me ." Ted frowns
"I am not afraid of you. I am just so nervous." I am shivering
"Come here， I will not eat you." Ted giggles
I walk toward him . I sit on the recline chair .
"Two ways of going out . One way is slow down your heart beat and one way is to directly face your fear." Ted inserts the needle into my neck
I start to feel dizzy. Then I passed out after a minute . When I wake up， I am still in the room. However everything disappeared . The door opens behind me . Ted comes in. What is that? Am I scared of ted?
"I miss you Delia . I love you so much." Ted comes closer to me
"No ted， I already in love with someone." I try to hide
I am already in love with someone? Who will that be?
He kisses me . I am freezes by that kiss. Then I hear gun shot， ted falls on the ground
"Why did you guys do that!" I scream
I see three man wears masks . They have their gun pointing at ted . Ted is dead . I kneel on the ground . I don't like ted the way he likes me but he is still someone who I really trust.
"We kill him." They laugh
I rest my head on his chest. I have to calm down or face my fear directly. I rest my head on ted's chest. I start to breath slowly and slowly. Everything disappeared and when I wake up， I am above the chasm.
The masked men are still there
"We killed him." They repeat
"You said what?" I stand up
"We killed ted." One of them repeats
I am so angry. I throw myself at them. I punch one of them in their face and one of them in their gut . The third one tries to run away. I chase after him.
"I am sorry. I will not do that again." He begs me for forgiveness
"I don't give a shit." I scream
I take the gun and I I liked him. I scream from the fears and wake up.
"What is that?" Alan is standing in front of me with his arms folded in front of his chest
"I am just scared." I cry
He comes and holds me up. I wrap my arms around his neck.
"I will bring you to rest." Alan sighs." You will not experience this for a long time ."
"Thank you Alan." I bury my face into his neck
He brings me out of the room. Ted comes up toward us
"What is wrong?" Ted asks
"She is scared . I think that Delia doesn't want to see you now ." Alan says coldly.
"Why? Alan you can't make that decision for her ." Ted is angry
I don't want them to get into a fight. I am crying
"Ted leaves me alone for a while please." I shake my head
Alan brings me away into his office . I sit on the couch beside him . He pours me a cup of water
"What did you see in the fear landscape?" Alan asks
"I saw ted was inside there . He kissed me but three soldiers killed him. Then I killed them in my second fears." I cover up my face." Was I a horrible person?"
"No you are not. That's mean you don't want to lose ted ." Alan sighs." You are a good girl."
I look at him. He is sad . I don't know why is he sad
"I am fine now . Thank you Alan." I smile at him
"I will walk you back to the dorm." Alan stands up." You don't know where is it."
"Thank you." I say
He leads me out of the office . Max and Sam walk toward us
"Why is she still here?" Max frowns
"She was scared so I took her here for a rest. Now I will walk her to the dorm ."Alan says
I walk behind Alan. Alan walks quietly. Finally we are in front of a big wooden door. He pushes that opens. There are ten beds inside and we have ten people
"How did you guys know that we are ten. We came here with 11peoole." I am surprised
"Every year at least one of you guys will not make to the compound ." Alan says." So ten minute ， ted will come to pick you guys up. Those of you who don't know me . I am Alan Davis . The youngest lieutenant in dauntless. I will watch your training alongside with Amar and ted ."
I walk to the bed at the end . I am beside Elizabeth. Abby is not here
"Where is Abby." I ask
"She is with Amar ." Alan finishes saying and leaves
"You knew him?" Elisa frowns
I shake my head . I can't tell them that I had already meet with him before
"Why was he so kind to you?" Jackson is questioning me ."did he likes you?"
"No I don't think so ." I lower my head
"You are blushing." Jessica sits beside me
I quickly change into the uniform. Abby is back
"How are you guys doing." Abby smiles at us
"We are doing better than you." Elizabeth smirks
"We are doing great." Mary follows ." We can be friend."
Abby looks at me . She is angry with me still
"Yeah we can. We can be best friends ." Abby says
"Mary are you sure that you want to be a friend with someone who take their best friend boyfriend away?" Maria hissed
"I believe Abby isn't that kind of people." Mary shakes her head
Eric looks at Abby. He is cold blooded without any emotion
"Right,I was ex boyfriend to her best friend in erudite. Then she puts something in my drink and I was out . When I woke up, I am on the bed ." Eric sighs
"You see , he is the victims of that." Elizabeth laughs
Mary doesn't say a word. The door opens. Ted comes in.
"So follow me ." Ted beckons for us to follow
We follow him out of the dorm. Ted walks in front of us
"You guys have already met Alan right? He will watch the training with me but he will not be there every day so there will be another leader who will watch it." Ted explains."his name is Amar."
"I knew it." Abby says in a lower voice
"Amar isn't a easy person to sleep with." Ted looks at Abby.
Abby is shocked . We enter the cafeteria . There are only two tables ready for us . I sit down between Elizabeth and a man.
"Hey ." The man nods at me." My name is Amar."
"You are the one of leader who is going to watch the training with ted?" I blink my eyes
"Yes I am. You look familiar Delia. I saw you somewhere before." Amar smiles at me
Abby coughs a little. We all look at her . Is she jealous of me and Amar are talking.
I look at the food . A plate of sauce , breads and meats. I don't know what can I make out of it.
"It is hamburger." Amar explains ." Put the sauce and meats between the bread."
"You never eat any hamburgers before?" William is surprised
"I had seen one but never allow to eat one . " I shrug
Marlene sits down beside me with Shauna . Amar has to change the seat.
"So what did you guys eat?" Marlene is curious
"Stiff eats plain foods." Alan comes toward us .
He throws a hamburger in my plate. I look at him
"Thanks mr Davis." I say
"I don't want you to die that's all." Alan says coldly.
"Alan is weird today." Amar frowns." He is so kind ."
Then we heard people start to hit their cups on the table
"Initiates stand up." Someone is walking above the ledge
We stand up. I look upward and see max is standing beside the ledge .
"You have chosen a warrior faction. Your duty is to protect the citizens of the city. We believe in the ordinary act of bravery, in the courage to stand up for those people who can't stand up for themselves. Respect that and do us the proud." Max says proudly.
He leaves and dauntless members start to cheer for us . I sneak out of the room. I want to be alone .
"Delia!" Ted walks toward me." Why are you here."
"Ted I told you. I don't want to see you now ." I push him away
"Why? What's wrong! Can you please tell me !" Ted grabs my shoulder
I want to scream but ted is crazy now . I breath heavily.
"Can you please come down." Alan calls out for ted." She is just a little girl."
"Alan it's none of your business ." Ted smirks
Alan walks downstair . He stands between me and ted
"Don't forget that I have authority here . " Alan grabs my arm." Go with me."
"Where are you going to bring her?" Ted is worried
"Somewhere safe ." Alan says
I look at him. He brings me upstair to a store
"So I am getting a new tattoo. Do you want to get one ? I can pay for you." Alan says." Then you can pay me back later."
"I don't know yet. Thank you for your offer." I nod at him
"Bud." Alan waves at someone." Come here please."
Bud comes toward us . He has no hair as well
"Hey Alan ." Bud looks at me ." Little girlfriend?"
"No, she is one of the initiates." Alan shakes his head
I hide behind alan. I look at Bud . He is friendly
"Hey I am Bud ." Bud nods at me
"I am Delia." I say
"Delia prior?" Bud is curious
I don't say a word . Everyone already knew about me
"Yeah." I lower my head
"The first jumper." Tori giggles
"Yes I am ."
