I look around the wall. Nowadays， the artists are from amity but maybe some of dauntless can also do the job which belongs to other faction . I don't know but I really like them. Suddenly， my eyes spot on a picture . A green snake is wrapping around two flowers .

"I like this one ." I point at the picture ." I heard from my mom that the flower represents jealousy and the snake is protecting us away from that."

"Good choice . I just drew it two days ago."Bud gives me a thumb up." However alan likes it."

"I can give it to her . I will pay for this." Alan shakes his head

I don't want to owe him. I stand up and want to leave

"I don't want to take anything away from you." I say

"No Delia， you will pay me back in other way." Alan smirks." I will tell you when that day come !"

"Why are you treating me that way?" I am curious

Alan doesn't say a word. He closes his eyes. Bud starts to tattoo something on him and he doesn't bothers to move . He is very strong . He finishes tattooing by Bud and let me sits down

Bud is ready for the new pictures.

"Aren't you hurt?" I am wandering

"I like when you laugh." I say

Bud comes back and sits down beside me

"You are brave Delia." Bud shakes his head

"Why?" I ask

He starts to trace the needles on me . I frown because that isn't hurt as bad as they say but also not comfortable.

For an hour， I am laying on the chair . When I finish， Alan leaves already. I say thank you to Bud and leave the store . Ted is waiting for me

"Can we talk please?" Ted is begging me

He leads me to cafeteria . No one are there except someone are still drinking or dating

"What did you see ?" Ted ordered two drinks

"I saw you in my first fear landscape." I lower my head

"What was I doing." Ted clinches his fists

I don't know how to say. That is very embarrassed

"You come in the room and told me that you loved me . You kisses me and you were killed by three masked men." I cry." I can't face the truth. I didn't know either is because I am scared of you or scared something else."

"Delia， what happened next." Ted is patient.

"I killed them in my second fears." I am shivering." I feel that one of them is someone who I know ."

Ted holds my hand . He always do that when I was sad.

"I think that you cared about me so you were scared to lose me ." Ted smiles." I am happy but also jealous ."

"Why?" I tilt my head

"You and Alan have such good relationship. You treated him so differently." Ted lowers his head

I know that he is very sensitive . I may not love him but I don't want him to think that he isn't special.

"I and Alan are just friends. You just like my elder brother . I know you more than knowing about him. You know me more than he knows about me ." I explain

"Right." Ted says

"Why is she still here Ted? She needs to go to bed now." Alan says coldly

I stand up. Ted stands up as well. I don't want them to fight

I leave the cafeteria . I hear moaning sound coming from downstair . I reach out and see Amar and Abby are kissing in the training room

"What hell are these two doing?" Alan stands beside me

I choose to go to dorm. I enter the dorm and lay down

The second day when we wake up， it is still early in the morning. I sneak out of the room with my uniform. I hit something from the training room! Amar and Abby or someone else! I peak a look. Alan is hitting the punching bag

He is working so hard even he is already a leader. I walk slowly and quietly downstair

"Want to sneak on me?" Alan is still punching

"No ， I am just wandering why you are working so hard even you are already what you are now ." I smile at him.

"Bud is right. You are brave" Alan stops punching.

I look at his fist. It is bleeding. I take out napkin from my pocket.

"You are bleeding." I take his hand and clean his blood for him

I am not afraid of him. He was never in my fear before . He comes closer and closer until he is just an inch away from me

"Delia be careful. I am not a safe person to deal with." Alan walks away." Go eat something now ."

I walk toward the cafeteria . Everyone are leaving. I grab a muffin with me . We walk toward the training room

"Where did you go?" Jeremy wraps his arm around me

"I was in the training room wandering around ." I shrug."how is the sleep?"

"Good but I haven't used to it." Jeremy says

Zeke and Marlene are waving at me . We meet in the training room

"How was your sleep last night?" Zeke is really caring about me

"Good." I smile

I realize that he isn't looking at me . He is looking at jessica

"Morning Jessy." Zeke grabs Jessica's arm

"Don't touch me." Jessica pushes him away

"I am caring about you. Don't pushes me away." Zeke smirks

I know that Zeke likes her but he didn't know how to grab her attention

"Zeke don't be a jerk." I laugh." Jessica is scared ."

Ted and Alan come into the room. We all line up. Zeke and Shauna leave with Marlene . Marlene and Shauna are choosing the year after next so they have to go to school

"So you have to go through three stages of training. The first stage is mainly physical . You have to combat until your body reach the last point . The second is emotional , when you are in the midst of the fear. You should remain calm. The third stage is mental, you either defeat your fears or the fears defeat you." Ted walks back and forth." At the end of each stage of training, you will be ranked . The rank served two purposes :one is the order you will choose your job :leadership, instructor, guarding the fence or stop factionless from killing each other ."

"The ranking also decides who gets cut." Alan steps up.

"Cut?" William is wandering

Alan maybe know that Candor can never stop talking so he isn't annoyed

"At each end of stage , the last three initiates will be leaving us . Even you are training separately away from the dauntless born, however you guys are ranking together . It can be all of you and none of them or all of them but none of you. Also it can be both." Alan smirks." They are already better than you, so you have to be careful."

So I have a question is that what are we doing if we are cut. I am worried the answer will be what I believed .

"What do we do if we get cut?" Jeremy asks

"You are not going back home . So you live Factionless ." Alan shrugs

"Why don't we know that?" Elizabeth shouts

Alan frowns at Elizabeth. He is starting to get impatient.

"It's a new rule." Alan says

"New rule." Elizabeth looks at me." Someone should tell us that."

"So what? If someone told you guys before , then you will choose differently? If that is the case. You may leave now . If you are really one of us, you don't need to worry that you lose . You have chosen us , now it is time for us to choose you." Alan says coldly

He turns around and runs. I follow him with other initiates . Abby is right behind me with Elizabeth and Elisa .

"Good job, follow me ." Ted says

We run very fast. I am wandering how far are we going

"How far are we going?" I ask

So we have to pace ourself . Neither too fast or too slow . We run nearly half of the city. We arrive at Factionless sector

"What is happening?" Ted asks the soldier

"Factionless are doing nothing." The soldier sighs
