Izanami stood in the center of the council chambers, she'd had to leave her troops back in the lower part of the temple. Apparently the jedi were worried she might try something, she suppose she couldn't blame them, she would have probably done the same thing
Gnost Dural and Sori were also present, waiting near the entrance to the chamber; they had spoken to the council before her. The jedi were very interested in hearing from one of the past Barsen'thor's of the order as well as a historian as renowned as Gnost Dural. But they eventually had decided to give her the time of day
"Most unusual this is" Master Yoda said after looking her over "Never has happened to our knowledge this has"
"Indeed, an ancient sith emperor trapping an entire planets worth of people in a force prison? It seems almost impossible" Another master said, a dark skinned jedi with a bald head
"I assure you its true, Valkorian was far more powerful in the force than you could comprehend" Izanami told them "He was such a great threat that the empire and republic joined the alliance in order to defeat him"
"Sith cooperating with Jedi? I dont buy it" The bald master said "Ive never known a sith to cooperate with anyone, let alone jedi"
"Oh and you've met a lot of sith have you?" Izanami replied with a healthy amount of snark
That apparently had more of an effect than she thought it would, as the man stood from his chair "Watch your tone 'Sith' " he said, practically spitting out the word
"You jedi are all the same, glad to see that even after three thousand years you're all as ignorant as ever. Its a wonder you ever managed to defeat the empire"
"Master Windu, dont play into her hands, she's simply goading you" Obi wan spoke up
"I tire of this" Izanami said "I willingly came to you in peace in hope to learn more of the time i find myself in and to try and make peace with the jedi. But I can see youre exactly like the jedi of my time, you simply cant accept the fact that I have no intentions of hostility, simply because i am Sith"
"Circles we are going around in" Yoda spoke up "No wish for things to escalate we do"
Another master, one with a long head, spoke up "I still dont trust her, she is open about being a sith, and claims to come in peace"
"If i didnt come in peace why would i willingly walk into the jedi temple with a handful of soldiers?"
"Perhaps you are over confident you could take us all" The pointed headed master replied
Izanami sighed "Is it simply too hard for you to accept im here to cooperate?"
Gnost Dural stepped forth "Fellow jedi, you may not know her, but i assure you, she is unlike the typical sith of today and of our time for that matter. She did forge an alliance of many people, sith and jedi included, to help take on a bigger threat"
"Im nothing if not pragmatic" Izanami said "Ive always sought to gain allies by trust rather than subjugation, its how i was able to build the alliance at all, many of the members were allies i had previously from other things. They were the first to join, and they in turn got more to join based on their word. Just because i am sith, does not mean i aim to blindly conquer everything i see or sacrifice everything for an advantage"
"Much more to learn of you we still have" Yoda said "But enough for now, i think this is, dragging on we are"
The bald master nodded "Yes, this has been going on for a long time, we will continue this later" He looked to the jedi guarding the lift "escort our 'guest' to her chambers"
Izanami looked to the man "I think you misunderstand, im going to be leaving now"
"We cannot simply let you walk away, you are a sith after all, you will remain here until we decide what to do with you"
Izanami crossed her arms "I will not"
"You will, or we will be forced to detain you"
Master Sori tried to step forward in hopes of de escalating the situation, but Gnost Dural grabbed his shoulder and shook his head "It would be wise for us to refrain from interfering, they need to understand who they are dealing with"
Izanami looked to the bald master "You really think you can stop me? I have no quarrel with you jedi, do not make one"
The master stood up, as well as 3 other masters "You really think you stand a chance sith? You are surrounded by the masters of the jedi council, and you have no one"
"The only thing i am surrounded by is cowards who have no idea what they are about to start" Izanami said with a slight growl to her tone
Suddenly the room was covered in an overpowering dark side presence, it was so strong that the masters who stood were temporarily forced to their knees by the sheer overwhelming pressure of it
"Pathetic, you Jedi always act superior, but in the end you are no different from anyone else. Look at you now, cowering in your tower while war rages across your republic. I came here in peace, but because I am sith you intend to imprison me?"
Izanami drew her lightsaber, it was a curious design, the blade was a more pinkish tinted red, not the bright crimson of most sith, and the blade looked like it was unstable, as if it was barely being contained by the emmitrt. The hilt had two smaller emitters on the side that formed a V shaped crossguard when ignited
"If you truly wish to make an enemy of me then step forth Jedi, i promise you i will not fall so easily to the likes of you. Or i can go, and ill pretend this interaction did not happen"
Mace Windu was worried. One minute it had all been fairly calm, and the next he felt the power of the darkside, covering the entire chamber, it was like a thick oily substance that stuck to him, making it hard to breathe. This sith had managed to hide her power from them all, how had she done that? She had acted calm and composed but now she looked ready to take them all on, and judging from this force pressure, she very well might manage it. He wasnt sure what to do, he didnt want to just let her go, but who knew how much damage she would cause if they tried to detain her
"No wish for this to end in violence we have" Yoda spoke up, he seemed unaffected by energy, or he was better at not letting it show "Free to leave you are, Darth Izanami"
"Just Izanami will do, master Yoda" The sith replied and deactivated her saber, hooking it back to her belt and turning to leave "If you have need of me again, you know where to find me" and the power of the dark side vanished from the chamber before she left
Mace took a breath to steady himself as he sat back in his chair "That was, not expected" he said
Obi wan nodded "The siths power seems to be quite strong, i think it would be wise to not make an enemy of her for the time being"
"She is a sith!" Ki adi mundi spoke up as he rose to his feet "She openly admits as much and we just are going to let her roam the galaxy? We already have enough trouble with Dooku and his mysterious master, what if she joins with them?"
"Pardon me masters but i think that to be unlikely" one of the past jedi said, the barsen'thor, Sori
"She may be sith, but she is unlike many sith of her time, she does not openly seek conflict for no reason and even before she formed the alliance she displayed many times she was willing to work with jedi. As long as you dont give her a reason, she wont be a threat. She has a sense of honor, and will never lie to you. She is still sith, and she does not pretend otherwise, but she is not some scheming horrible villain. Her interpretation of the sith code is more pragmatic than most sith"
"Quite the strange sith she is" Yoda replied
"Yes, it is why she commanded the respect of so many in the order and the republic as well as the empire. It is why so many rallied under her flag of the alliance, and why when the war with zakuul ended, many decided to stay when she went back to the empire, even jedi and republic troops" Gnost Dural explained "She a truly unique individual"
"A close eye on her we should keep"
Gnost Dural spoke up "And I believe I have a perfect way for you to do just that without the need for subterfuge or risking an incident"
"You want us to do what?" Anakin asked "but theres a war going on, you cant seriously expect me and Ashoka to sit out and go pal around with a sith lord"
"Anakin, if what these masters have told us is true. Then this sith has the power to completely disrupt the balance of power in the war" Obi wan told him
"And we can hardly just let her roam the galaxy without at least trying to keep tabs on her" Mace Windu spoke up
"A good thing for you and your apprentice this will be Skywalker" Yoda said "an intriguing view of the force she and her followers have. A learning experience for you two it will be"
"Will she even allow us to join her?" Ashoka asked
Master Sori nodded "She will. It's not in her nature to turn away a potential ally. Even if she knows youre only there to watch her"
"I have a bad feeling about this" Anakin sighed "is she even still here?"
"I believe she is in the archives. Her and Gnost Dural are going through the history of the last few millennia
"Well I guess we better go see them then, lets go snips" Anakin said as he turned and left the tower along with Ashoka
