Chapter Two - 4247 Maplewood Drive
Amanda pulled the Corvette right in front of her house. Lee looked around and said " Amanda…are you sure you want to park so close to the house? What if your mother is home?"
Amanda chuckled "It's okay Lee. It's Tuesday morning. Mother is off to her garden club at least until two. I'm gonna quickly grab my bag and leave her a note. I'll call her tonight and explain….well explain something to her. Joe is taking the boys on Thursday for a long weekend camping so she will only have to watch them tonight and tomorrow."
Lee beamed at her and said " You know…you are getting pretty good at this…the lying and sneaking around. Ever think about becoming a spy?" His hazel eyes were dazzling as he smiled at her. She blushed at his stare and said " We don't say spy, Stetson. Don't you forget…for the next five days…I am your boss!"
They both laughed as Lee reached over and tucked a stray hair behind Amanda's ear. " I wouldn't have it any other way. I may enjoy this…you telling me what to do."
Amanda opened the door and got out. As she turned around the hem of her skirt bellowed and gave Lee a glimpse of her terrific legs. He sighed and shifted in his seat. Amanda gave him a Cheshire cat grin and said "I'm gonna hold you to that Stetson! I'll be right back!" And she took off towards the front door.
Lee had a few moments to think while Amanda was in her house. He smiled to himself as he thought about her. She really is something. Why didn't I see it? She's become my whole world. You know Stetson…sometimes you really live up to your codename.
As Lee was thinking about Amanda….she in turn was doing the same thing. Thinking about her partner….the man she knew she loved. How am I going to get through this week? Being alone with him. I have to keep my feelings aside….I have to be sure he feels the same. We are almost there. I just know it. Well come on Amanda…let's get this week started! She ran down the stairs, jotted down a quick note for her mother and headed back out towards her dashing spy.
