Chapter 6 World book day
Jake's POV
As it was world book day, Izzy was getting the girls ready with their outfits while I was getting baby Jay ready.
"Oh, come on baby Jay don't you want to look cute for mommy?" I asked.
"No." Baby Jay exclaimed.
"Izzy, I need your help with our son." I called asy girlfriend Princess and baby Jasmine came into baby Jay's bedroom.
"What's the matter baby Jay?" Izzy asked.
"I don't want to dress up as Horrid Henry, mama." Baby Jay exclaimed.
"Hey, baby Jay, can you at least give him a try?" Princess asked her little baby brother.
"Otay, Princess!" Baby Jay cave in as Izzy got him dressed.
"What are two dresses up as?" I asked my two daughters.
"Tinkerbell, dada!" Baby Jasmine exclaimed.
"And I'm dressed up as Veruca from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, daddy!" Princess answered.
"Aww cute and adorable." I complemented.
Princess's POV
"Hey, where did Mommy go?" I wanted to know as daddy picked up baby Jay while I held baby Jasmine hand and walked downstairs and into the living room seeing Mommy placing books on the table.
"I thought that since its world book day, i think we should we a book foe one hour." Mommy told us.
"Yay!" I said as I ran to get a book to read along with baby Jasmine and baby Jay.
"Wait, does this involve me as well?" Daddy asked.
"YES!" We all yelled.
"Rusty anchors, I hate reading. How about I go take a nap instead." Daddy suggested.
"Nope. That's not how it works Jake. It's either you read for an hour on your own, or I make you read. Which one do you choose?" Mommy asked.
"Can I have a third option?" Daddy wanted to know.
"NO, NOW START READING!" Mommy screamed as Daddy immediately grabbed a book and started to read it.
"Aww, man I hate this. I rather hang out with Cubby than read for an hour." Daddy exclaimed.
"What was that?" Mommy asked.
"Uh-oh. Uh baby Jay and baby Jasmine, how about I take advantage to the bedroom and we can look at pictures in our books?" I suggested as we left.
Izzy's POV
"Jake, all I'm asking is for you to do one simple activity with your family." I told him.
"Well, maybe I don't want to do this activity. I'm going to my room." Jake said as he left.
"Jake, wait come back." I called as he already went into our bedroom.
Once I found Jake, he was sitting on his bed crying.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have walked out like that." Jake apologized.
"No, Jake it's okay, you have every right to. If you don't want to do the activity you don't have to, it's your choice. Besides, an hour is over anyway. Wait, where are the kids?" I asked.
"I heard that Princess saying that she's going to take a little baby brother and sister to the room so they can look at pictures in their books." Jake said.
"Hey, how about we take the kids to the bookshop. We can buy any book we want." I suggested.
"Does that include comic books?" Jake wanted to know.
"No. An actual book Jake." I told him as the kids came downstairs.
"Oh good, our kids are here. We're taking you guys to the bookshop." I told them.
"Yay bookshop!" Baby Jay and baby Jasmine along with our oldest daughter Princess exclaimed with happiness.
As we helped our kids put on their light coats, we went to the bookshop.
Once we arrived, my family and I went to the kids area to find some books for our kids.
"Okay, what kind of books do you guys want?" I asked.
"Hmm, is there a book on Sofia the first?" Princess asked.
"We'll see if there is one. If not, you have to choose another book." I told her.
"Mhm." Princess said while nodding her head.
With Jake Baby Jay and baby Jasmineā¦.
Jake's POV
"Okay, what books do you kids want to get?" I asked my son and daughter.
"I want to get a book on Paw Patrol!" Baby Jay exclaimed with a toothy smile.
"Yep, you're Cubby's nephew all alright." I told him.
"I want Peppa pig!" Baby Jasmine said.
"Oh, great more Peppa pig." I exclaimed with rolling my eyes.
"I saw that dada." Baby Jasmine said.
"Don't tell your mother." I pleaded.
"MAMA!" Both baby Jasmine and baby Jay yelled as Izzy ran over.
"What? Is something wrong?" Izzy asked the two.
"Dada, was complaining about paw patrol and Peppa pig." They both told her as I was telling her no in silence.
"Way to go you two, now I'm going to be yelled at." I told them.
"You didn't tell us to be quiet." Baby Jay told me.
"Yes, I did. What part of don't tell your mother, did you kid not get?" I asked.
"I'm two." Baby Jay said.
"And I'm the youngest." Baby Jasmine answered.
"Haha, daddy's going to get yelled at by Mommy tonight." Princess said while laughing.
"You're definitely right, he is going to get yelled at by me tonight." Izzy told her.
"I think we got the books, let's go to the cafe and read them." Izzy answered as we went to the cafe.
Once we arrived, the kids sat down and started to look at the pictures of their books.
"There better not be any pig noises back there." I told baby Jasmine.
"Oink oink." Baby Jasmine made pig noises.
"Hey, I said no, oinking, baby Jasmine." I said as she did a raspberry.
"Aww, poo." Baby Jasmine exclaimed with disappointment.
"Hey, daddy, can we build a book fort with books from home?" Princess asked.
"Of course, you guys can. And we'll help as well.
"I want a cookie dada." Baby Jay cried as his tummy rumbled.
"I'll buy you a cookie sweetie." Izzy told him as she went over to the cashier and brought a soft cookie for all of us.
Once Izzy came back, she gave the cookies to our kids and she gave me a cookie.
"Why do I get a cookie?" I asked.
"Oh I'm sorry Jake, do you not want it? Cuz I'll take it." Izzy asked.
"Oh no I'll take the cookie, I just want to know why though?" I wanted to know.
"Well considering that I'm going to yell at you tonight about complaining about Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol in front of our kids, you need to eat something." Izzy explained.
"I'm still in trouble aren't I?" I asked.
"Hahaha, yep." Izzy answered.
Once we were done reading our books and the kids had finished eating their cookies, the family and I went home so we could help the kids build their book fort.
Baby Jay's POV
As we arrived home, the family and my siblings started to build the book fort with a lot of books on top of each other along with family lights and cushions.
"Yay, book fort!" I said with excitement as my sister's and I went inside.
"You kids have fun, I'm going to do my own thing." Mama told us as she left.
Izzy's POV
As I was in the bedroom that me, Cubby, Jake, and Skully share, I decided to lay down on my bed and listen to music while reading. But then again, I decided to look at my bookshelf and start to organize them. By putting very lights and pictures of myself on it. In my journal, along with writing reviews about one book that I read back in the bookshop and also here at home. I also decided to make a book series in my bullet journal as well along with my top 22 books. I also started to make a phone tracker and a Reading tracker in my bullet journal alongside making reading goals for myself.
Once all of that was done, I decided that it was time to talk to Jake about what he did today.
"Oh, Jake, can you come here for a minute?I have a problem." I asked as he came over.
"Oh no, is this the part where you yell at me?" Jake asked.
"You always get that right! NEVER MAKE FUN OF PEPPA PIG OR PAW PATROL IN FRONT OF OUR KIDS?!" I yelled.
"Ye, yes ma'am." Jake answered.
