Loki of Tomorrow Chapter 16
Sara, Loki, Mobius and Ava arrived at the red carpet for this event blending in thanks to Loki's diguise for everyone.
"Delta team this is Alpha leader, we are in position." said Sara discreetly.
"Copy Alpha we are approaching now. We'll keep an eye out for any escape routes over" said Gary.
"Alright as the others begin watch, we need to get closer to the main stage. Blend in and mingle if you have to. Use of deadly force is not authorized unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Clear?" asked Sara.
"We need to keep an eye out for the squadron as well. If we know Victor is here, so will they." said Loki.
"Let's split up then, if you got a possible lead on him, tail him but not to close." said Mobius.
The teams of two split up to scout the venue to cover more ground. Delta team all found possible exits to station at.
"Found a possible exit, stand by" said Constantine.
"Found another" said Sylvie.
"Standing by at the back exit" said Astra.
"Copy that." said Sara.
Sara then sees Ava digging in on some finger food.
"BABE!" Sara loudly whispered.
"Sara! you got to try this" said Ava
"We are on mission!" Sara said.
"I know but I got hungry" added Ava
"We had a big breakfast this morning! Besides we gotta stay alert. Victor could be anywhere" argued Sara.
"I know babe but just..try this at least?" pleaded Ava.
"Fine" Sara sighed.
Ava feeds Sara one of the party samplers as she couldn't help but like it.
"Alright I'll admit, that's pretty good. There any more?" asked Sara.
Meanwhile, Loki and Mobius scoured across the venue as unbeknownst to them all, a pair posing as a couple was watching them.
"This is Hyperion, we found them"
"The Legends are trying to box Victor in, as soon as they try to get close, we spring into action. Power Princess out."
Elsewhere, Gary amd Gideon were still on watch while also blending in.
"We're gonna stick out like sore thumbs if we keep watch like this. How are we supposed to blend in?" asked Gary.
Gideon quickly took Gary's hand bringing them towards the center of the venue. She then quickly made the lead for her and him to pose as a couple having a dance.
"Oh, I see" said Gary.
"Brings us closer to the mission and..."
"Each other?" asked Gary
Gideon couldn't help but blush.
"Yes."
Loki took out his pocket watch he made to blend in with the time period to see how much longer until it was time for Victor to step on stage.
"Shouldn't be much longer Loki. Last bunch of people outta be filing in to get this shindig started." said Mobius.
"We only have a small window. Especially with the potential risk to the timeline." added Loki.
"It's gonna work amigo." said Mobius.
"For all our sakes, it has to" added Loki.
Meanwhile, Sara and Ava continued to sample the dishes prepared for the event almost completely forgetting their roles in the mission.\
"God, why couldn't Loki made us stretchier dresses?" asked Ava.
"Because we completely let ourselves go during Battleworld." said Sara.
"I know we said we start to get back into shape but there's always tomorrow right?" asked Ava.
"Tomorrow after this mission" said Sara adjusting her tight shirt
"Honestly I'd kill to be in sweatpants in bed having a pizza right now" said Ava.
"Later babe. Later" Sara agreeing to the idea.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! It is time for our main event of the evening. A man who claims to know the ins and outs of time itself. A man with the knowledge of the past, present and the future. VICTOR! TIMELY!"
"Time is everything. It shapes our very lives. But perhaps, we can shape it!" said Victor
"It's him!" Loki whispered
Sara looks over at the stage.
"Confirming visual" said Sara wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"If we can shape time, then we can shape our past, our present, and our future however we see fit. I believe that time can make us Gods." said Victor.
"The Legends have visual" said Hyperion.
"We strike when they do" said Power Princess.
"No witness Mark" said Nighthawk.
"If they try to run, Stan will catch them" assured Hyperion
"Clearly these chumps aren't good with speedsters" said Blur.
"The power of time in the palm of your hands, history can what you want to be." said Victor.
The crowd applauds as the curtains close. Sara then quickly sees some security guarding a door that leads backstage.
"Sylvie, with me. Gonna need you to enchant some guards to clear me a path"
"Loki, switch places with me" said Sylvie
The two women walk up to the guards who were clearly on duty.
"We're here to see Victor Timely. We have news to inform him of" said Sara.
"Under who's authority?" asked one of the guards.
"The Time Variance Authority"
Sylvie enchants the guards to let them pass.
"Of course. Right this way. Last door on the right" replied the enchanted guard.
"We're in. Sylvie I need you to head back to the others and maintain the suspicion we're normal guests. Anything happens you get the team back aboard the ship." ordered Sara.
"You sure you can handle this? asked Sylvie.
Sara pulls out a knife.
"I have to do this." said Sara.
Sylvie leaves and as she heads back to the ballroom, shes quickly and swiftly knocked out by Zarda aka Power Princess.
"Lance is going for Timely. It's time" said Zarda.
"Mission is a go Squadron Supreme. Blur, you're up." said Hyperion.
Sara enters the dressing room of Victor Timely as the man turns to see the Legend.
"I don't believe you're supposed to be back here miss" said Victor.
"Oh you don't need to worry about that." said Sara taking out her knife.
"Have we met before?" Victor asked.
"You could say that. You see, I come from a far and distant future where your future descendant managed to conquer all of time and the multiverse. Killed many of my friends. Left a big ol stain on the timeline and I have to clean it up." explained Sara.
"This version of me. He has my face? My name?" asked Victor.
"He called himself Kang. Went on to conquer multiple timelines. You have no idea the chain of events you caused" said Sara.
"I never meant for that to happen. Is ther anything I can do to be of service to make it right?" asked Victor.
Sara guts him with the knife and twists it out of personal catharsis. She watched him ooze out his own blood from his mouth choking on it from lack of oxygen.
"That was for Peter" said Sara pulling out the knife.
She wiped it clean and proceeded to head back to the others.
"Team, Victor's dead. rendezvous back at the ship" said Sara.
But she got no response.
"Hello?"
Sara opens the door and in came Power Princess. Sara walked backwards as the Amazon variant goes to walk over to the body of Victor.
Zarda in a calm demeanor then.
"Bout time"
she then whips out her shield and hits Sara with a backhand so hard, she's sent flying through the ceiling and up to the sky.
Zarda flies up after her to grab Sara's head to say,
"I've been waiting for this! Would you like to know a traditon I learned when I slaughtered Asgard from another timeline? It's called Blood Payments. It means I get a piece from what you just took. You'll pick it up!"
Sara frees one of her arms and stars laying on punches on Zarda, desperately trying to fight back. But Power Priness takes the fight to a rooftop as the two crash down with debris crumbling around them.
"That was for Kang! NOW SHOW ME THIS WHITE CANARY I HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT!" shouts Power Princess.
Sara takes out her bo staff and twirls it around as they both clashed. Power Princess went on the offense trying to quickly overpower Sara. But Sara used her staff to block her attacks until Zarda broke it in half. Sara goes to club Power Princess in the face only to do little to no damage on her.
Zarda hits Sara with a backhand and then takes her arm, throws her over her shoulder sending Sara crashing through a chimney stack.
"Was it luck? Did Kang die to fuckin luck?" said Zarda going for the kill with her sword only for Sara to catch it with her staff turned batons.
Sara with all her might used the momentum to throw Zarda's sword to the ground only for her to bash Sara to the ground with her shield. She goes for a killing blow only for Sara to catch the shield and tries to hold her back.
"DUMBASS! You think you could come here? Kill Timely? Get a clean slate? That aint how it works! You're a destroyer, like me!" said Zarda.
Sara desperately fights to hold back Zarda and as she starts to begin to get the upperhand and get back to her feet, Zarda hits a deathblow onto Sara's head knocking her out to the point of death.
Feeling dissatisfied with how easy the fight had become, Zard quicky leaps into the sky towards the clouds to grab a lightning bolt strong enough to resuscitate Sara.
"Oh no. I say when we're done!"
Zarda slams the bolt right to Sara's heart as shes zapped back to life and has a heartbeat again.
"I'm not leaving til I see the REAL you. GET UP!"
Sara gets back to her feet to catch her breath. She goes to tackle Power Princess off the roof only for them both to fly off to the docks into a warehouse, crashing through its roof.
"YOU SHOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS!" said Zarda stomping on Sara and proceeds to pound her into oblivion.
With each puch landed on Sara's head, Sara began to feel the rage sensation she felt during Battleworld. This was enough for Sara to catch Zarda's punch and hit back with one of her own powerful enough to get her off.
Sara tapped into the rage once again seeing the crimson vision and the flames burning from her hands.
"RAAAGGGHHHHH!"
"What's this? Now we're talking!" said Power Princess.
Sara roared a powerful roar as she lays blow after blow in rapid succession leaving scorch marks onto Power Princess. She hits Zarda with a burning push kick sending her through wooden crates and follows up with hurling giant concrete debris from the ground to hurl it at Zard.
However Zarda used her bracelets to block it perfectly. Zard then stomps on the ground to cause earthquakes in an effort to stumble Power Princess setting her up for punches that had Sara use all her effort with each yell she lets out.
However this rage would quickly subside.
"That's all? You were finally showing me something!" said Zarda as she grabs Sara and takes her up in the air.
Sara didn't know where she was being taken too, but she fought hard even if it was a losing battle. She somehow got free and laid knee strikes along with fists hitting her with everything she got.
However Zarda got the upperhand once again and grabbed Sara and began to spiral down into the ground below sending Sara head first landing and pinned.
"Look what we have here" said Zarda picking up Sara's head as she forced her to look at The Legends captured by the Squadron Supreme.
