Episode 6: Changing Tides

Mermista held out a hand, parting the ocean waves. The sea slowly began to open a path, revealing broken remnants of horde tech and destroyed buildings. Seahawk and nearby workers rushed in to the now open space to salvage any materials they could. As Mermista opened the ocean, she looked out across her kingdom. Salineas was one of the most devastated areas, suffering the full brunt of a Horde incursion. Craters from tank blasts, and bits of debris were littered everywhere. Even after weeks of efforts their was still so much that needed to be done.

"Ugh it feels like we're never getting anywhere." she groaned, finally closing the water passage.

"Salineas wasn't built in a day, my love." said Seahawk, as he lugged a floating sled, piled with junk. "No matter how long it takes, we will rebuild it and make it even better than ever."

Mermista opened up another portion of the sea. "Better how?"

"Well from what I hear from Queen Glimmer Salineas will be an excellent port city. It could become the center of trade for all of Etheria." Seahawk took in a deep breath of the sea. "Ahh, I can't wait to get on the ocean again, and become a merchant sailor."

"I don't think any merchant would trust you with their goods when every ship you've ever owned has been set on fire."

Seahawk cleared his throat. "Yes, well, they don't need to know that."

Off in the distance, a repurposed Horde vessel began to approach. It now bore the symbol of Brightmoon, its armor plating matching the color scheme. Standing on the deck were Adora, Catra, and over a dozen workers from Brightmoon. As they pulled into one of the docks, Adora was quick to transform and start carrying building supplies. The crew were quick to follow but Catra was a bit hesitant. For two reasons. One of course being that the last time she was Salineas it was as a conqueror. Second was Catra's deep hatred of the water, and stepping off the boat onto the newly built dock made her very nervous. Seahawk waved to them cheerfully as they approached. Mermista held an even look, watching Catra closely.

"Ahh, its good to see you, friends!" Seahawk, began, opening his arms wide.

"I guess all this work hasn't dampened your spirits." Adora chuckled, setting down two stacks of metal beams.

"I'm a man of the sea! Nothing can take the wind out of my sails!"

Catra leaned toward Adora. "Is he always this annoying?"

"You learn to like him." Adora replied. "Or at least tolerate him."

Mermista glanced in Catra's direction and smiled devilishly. "What's the matter kittycat? Scared of a little water?"
Catra scowled and simply hissed at her. "Oooh did I hit a sore spot, kittycat?"

Adora sighed, stepping forward. "Okay, Mermista, knock it off."

"What? I'm just teasing. Right kittycat?"

Catra narrowed her eyes, and smiled. "Yeah, you're right, Bubbles, what's teasing between friends?"

"Bubbles?" Seahawk snrked, earning him a glare from a very red Mermista.

"Bubbles?!" she growled.

"Yeah, I like giving all you princess's silly little nicknames."

"What about Scorpia and Entrapta?" Adora asked. "And me?!"

"I told you, dummy, you don't need a nickname."

"Not even a cute petname?" Adora asked, making puppy dog eyes.

Catra snickered. "You're hopeless. I'll think about it."

"If you're done being sappy over there kittycat, we have work to do."

Catra gave Adora a little peck on the cheek, before pulling out her datapad. She quickly got into command mode directing the workers from Brightmoon and Adora. With Catra supervising, and Adora's super strength, all of the building materials were unloaded in record time. After making sure everything was accounted for, Catra approached some of the workers in Salenias for a breakdown of what she was working with. They were a bit hesitant at first but Catra's commanding personality quickly got them talking. Adora felt a swell of pride watching her work, getting things moving efficiently. Mermista, on the other hand was slowly bubbling, like a pot waiting to boil over.

Glimmer worked with her father. the two weaving a spell glyph in tandem. They stood in one of the halls of Mystacor. repairing one of the many protection spells around the island. Prime's attack on the heart and the surge of magical energy that defeated him had disrupted much of the magic there. The sorcerers had been working tirelessly to try and repair the damage but it was a long, delicate and complicated process. Many of the glyphs that were disrupted had not been maintained for hundreds of years. Which meant digging through Mystacor's archives to regain that lost knowledge.

Another side effect of the battle with Prime was something the sorcerers did not notice at first. When a sorcerer used too many spells it would slowly drain them of their own personal well of magic. Rest usually restored their reserves. Ever since the defeat of prime, however, the sorcerer's began to notice that their magic returned much more quickly than usual. Their spells too, also seemed more powerful, and effective. Though it was only a marginal amount.

Spinerella, Netossa and Frosta had also joined the queen on her trip to Mystacor. The two lovers were working together to help direct the efforts to rebuild Mystacor's physical defenses and structures. Walls, buildings, temples and so on. Frosta was able to aid in her own way. But truthfully, she had really only come because Glimmer had come. The youngest princess still idolized the new queen of Brightmoon.

Glimmer sighed heavily as the glyph was complete. "Finally. I never thought we would be done."

Micah sighed, body untensing. "Its been a long time since I've had to do a glyph this complex. It makes me want to take up my studies again and try to create new spells."

"You've created new spells?" Glimmer asked, eyes shimmering.

"One or two." Micah said. "Though they were very minor. I was working on a few ideas for spells before the horde came. It put my research on the back burner." He took seat on the ground, Glimmer joining him. "The one I was most excited about was a spell I was calling, 'Astral Pocket'."

"What was the spell supposed to do?"

"Well, you see, beyond our plane of existence we have discovered something called the astral plane. It is a plane existence that exists on top of our own but never overlapping. It is a realm of thought, dream, and the unconscious. It is simultaneously impossibly empty, and dense."

"I've heard some stuff about the astral plane." Glimmer said, pulling her lunch out from her pack. "Mostly about accessing it through astral projection."

Micah nodded. "Yes, Astral projection is the most common use of the astral plane. Allowing someone to project their thoughts and soul into the astral plane and use it to see vast distances. The spell I was creating was trying to use that interdimensional space for a different purpose. Storage. Putting items inside of small pocket of the astral plane to be summoned later."

"Like an infinite backpack."

"I suppose so." Micah said with a laugh. "The problem I kept running into was tethering the object to the material plane so it wouldn't just be lost to the vast emptiness of the Astral plane."

Glimmer hummed in thought. "So like, creating some kind of magical anchor?"

"That's a good way to put it. Perhaps a secondary glyph could be used as an anchoring point."

"Put the glyph on the object and then keep a matching glyph on something else like a scroll." Glimmer suggested.

"Brilliant idea Glimmer!" He patted her on the shoulder. "You really do have a knack for this."

Glimmer blushed a little. "Thanks. I'm glad I could help."

Micah took a moment to bask in the atmosphere of Mystacor. "Its been so long since I was last back here. It really takes me back to when I was still young and inexperienced. Back to when I met your mother."

"I don't think mom ever told me that story." said Glimmer, now very curious.

"Really? I'm surprised she never told you. Let's see, it was over twenty years ago, when I was the right hand of the Master Sorcerer Lymra."

Micah awoke with a yawn, the sun barely starting to rise past the horizon. With a snap of his fingers he levitated his robes over to him, getting dressed. Once he was ready for the day, he headed to the lunarium, where Master Lymra waited for him. She was an older woman, with dusky features, and a face weathered with age and experience. Micah could see she was deep in thought, and slowly approached her from behind. With a playful smirk he reached out, hoping to catch her by surprise only for her staff to rise up suddenly and knock his hand away.

"When will you learn?" she sighed, turning to face him. "I won't be snuck up on so easily."

Micah rubbed his now aching hand. "I thought I might get lucky this time."

"Perhaps you should try relying on more than just luck, Micah. If you really put your mind to it, you could create a spell that might make you more stealthy." She paused and frowned. "I immediately regret saying that."

"Nah. You don't have to worry about that." he assured. "I've been working on more important things. I've been devising a spell to create an assistant from magic. A familiar."

"A worthwhile endeavor." she commented. "But you won't have time to work on that today. The queen of Brightmoon is visiting us today. As my apprentice you will be taking on the role of Master Sorcerer someday, so its important to have a good relationship with the queen."

"If I had known I was meeting royalty I would have worn my good robes."

"You're fine as you are as long as you behave. Now come, follow me, she'll be here in the next two hours and I want to make sure everything is ready for her arrival."

Micah followed after his master, heading to the academy's main courtyard. The younger sorcerer took a moment to straighten his hair and robes. Moments later a burst of pink glittering energy appeared in the center of the courtyard. From within the energy, a tall, elegant woman with lacey angelic wings appeared. She folded her wings around her shoulders, creating a flowing cape. An aura of authority and grace radiated off of her.

Lymra approached the queen, and bowed deeply. "Your majesty. It is an honor to be in your presence."

Micah stared at the queen in dumbfounded awe before snapping back to reality. He bowed alongside his master but could not keep his eyes off of her. Angela softly smiled at the two, and a made motion with her hand for the pair to rise.

"It is good to see you as always, Master Sorcerer." Angela began, her voice as graceful as the rest of her.

"You flatter me, my queen." She gestured to Micah. "This is my apprentice Micah. He is next in line for the position of Master Sorcerer."

Micah dipped his head. "Your Majesty."

"Ah, so you're Micah. Lymra has told me much about you."

"I can only hope its only been good things." Micah smiled. "I'd hate for you to get the wrong impression of me."

"How are things in Brightmoon?" Lymra asked.

"As well as they can be for the moment. Though there have been some troubling rumors about raiding parties on the edges of the other kingdoms. Brightmoon is fortunate to have the whispering woods as a natural barrier against such things."

"Raiding parties? That is most troubling." Lymra's staff began to shimmer, as a communication spell was activated. "One moment please." Lymra stepped away from the two, and began to converse with another sorcerer.

Micah decided to break the awkward silence that followed. "Do you often travel without guards, your majesty?"

"Only to Mystacor." Angela answered. "Teleporting or flying is the only real way to get here. And, its much more convenient to teleport just myself than a whole squad of my personal guard."

Micah gave her a sympathetic look. "Sounds like you rarely get a moment to yourself."

"Being a queen rarely affords me such luxuries."

Micah hummed in thought for a moment. "Sounds like you could use a break."

Angela was utterly shocked when the young sorcerer grabbed her by the wrist and began to drag her away. The queen was so utterly dumbstruck by the action, she ended up following him without even thinking. They passed through several courtyards and halls, before Angela finally regained her senses. She suddenly pulled from Micah's grip, and scowled.

"What in the name of Etheria do you think you're doing?!" she growled, wings spreading out.

Micah didn't seem perturbed by her anger. "I'm simply taking you somewhere to have break, your highness. You look like you could use some relaxation time. You're so tense."

"How dare you speak to me so casually. Do you have any idea who you are addressing?"

Micah smiled softly. "Forgive me your majesty. But I was simply trying to help. I meant no offense. I thought that a walk through Mystacor's gardens without the pretense of diplomacy, or the like would be good for you."

Angela quirked a curious brow. "You have only just met me, young apprentice. And yet you seem to think you know what is best for me in this moment."

"I presume nothing, your majesty. I'm simply following my gut. Of course, I can't deny being alone with a woman as divinely beautiful as yourself didn't have something to do with my rash actions."

This seemed to give Angela pause, hiding a faint blush. "I appreciate your kindness, and your flattery." She paused for a moment, regarding Micah. "And, I have not seen Mystacor's gardens. A tour would not go unwanted."

Micah gestured toward the garden entrance. "After you, your grace."

Angela nodded, folding her wings again. As she walked past the young sorcerer, she allowed a small smile to creep across her lips.

******
"Wait, so you just ran off with mom right after meeting her?" Glimmer asked in disbelief.

"I may have been a bit too impulsive." Micah answered. "But it worked out in the end. Even if Master Lymra chewed me out later that same day."

"i can only imagine." Glimmer laughed. "Well, we should probably get back to work."

"Right. These glyphs aren't gonna repair themselves."

"We should work on your astral pocket spell sometime soon." Glimmer suggested as they began to weave their next glyph.

"Nothing would make me happier."

Over in one of Mystacor's many courtyards, Frosta was having a blast. Or at least it was a blast to her. The youngest princess had grown quite a bit since she had joined the alliance. Puberty had finally hit and she had grown almost a whole foot in height and was sporting a new outfit that fit her growing frame. Her powers had also seemed to grow with her. She raised walls and pillars of ice, using them to lift and push away debris. All of the workers and mages of Mystacor gave her a wide berth, not wanting to be crushed or frozen by the princess's excited building efforts. Netossa was checking over a datapad in the same courtyard when one of the bits of debris came flying in her direction. Thankfully it missed by a dozen feet.

"Frosta! Can you please watch where you're moving those things?!" Netossa screamed, shaking a fist.

"Oops." Frosta said, glancing over at the debris. "Listen, its fine. You didn't get hurt. Just relax."

"You're missing the point." Netossa hissed. "We're here to rebuild Mystacor. I don't want your reckless behavior causing more harm than good."

Frosta huffed, puffing her cheeks a little. "I know why we're here, you don't have to repeat it. Sheesh."

Netossa was about to give her another earful when Spinerella came flying down. "Now, Frosta. I know you're excited to be helping Glimmer and that you want to test the limits of your powers, but we need to be careful. You're doing a great job, just try not to overdo it, okay?"

Frosta pouted but seemed to calm a little. "Okay."

"Thank you." Spineralla said with a soft smile.

Frosta nodded and skated off on a trail of ice, continuing her work. Though she did seem to be paying more attention to where she was moving things now. Spinerella watched her for a moment before moving over to her wife. Netossa sighed heavily after looking up from her datapad.

"Thank you for that, Spinny. I was this close to getting into a fist fight with a teenager."

"You just have to know how to deal with kids." Spinerella said. "Its not a skill everyone has."

"Not in my repertoire." Netossa sighed, double checking her notes. "Looks like things are going smoothly. We'll have this place back up and running in no time."

"Have time for a break then?" Spinerella asked, nudging her.

"For you? Always."

Spinerella took Netossa's arm and the pair walked over to one of the benches in the courtyard. One of the mage's walked by the pair, offering them a snack and drinks as thanks for their work. They offered their gratitude and the mage took his leave with a bow. The two sat in comfortable silence for a time, simply enjoying each others company. Netossa's eyes fell over her wife, admiring how her hair fell over her features. That was when she noticed the scar on the back of her neck, making her frown. Spinerella followed her gaze and took her hand.

"Its fine. It doesn't hurt anymore."

"That's not what I was thinking about." Netossa sighed. "I just...can't help but feel this pit in my stomach every time I think about when you were controlled. I was so scared I would lose you."

Spinerella's grip tightened. "But you didn't. I'm here for you, always."

Netossa leaned forward, touching her forehead to her wife's. "I know."

After a few more moments of silence Spinerella weaved her fingers with her wife. "Sooo, I've been thinking."

"Those are dangerous words."

Spinerella slapped her playfully. "I was thinking that now with the war being over we could maybe settle down. Get that shared house between our two kingdoms we always talked about."

Netossa smiled softly. "Yeah that does sound good. Castles are nice but having a house with just us sounds perfect."

Spinerella pursed her lips. "Well...I was also...maybe thinking that it wouldn't be just us?"

The gears slowly began to turn in Netossa's head as realization struck. "Oh. You mean?"

Spinerella nodded.

"Kids? Us?" Netossa's mind was going a mile a minute. "I don't know. Getting a house is one thing but a kid?"

"You don't have to answer right away." Spinerella assured. "Its not something you should decide without giving it some thought. I just wanted to put the idea out there. Let you think on it."

That seemed to calm Netossa a little and she looked toward Frosta. "I'll think about it. For sure. No promises."

"That's all I ask."

Mermista was fuming, her eye twitching with barely contained contempt. The workers and Salineans who were helping the relief efforts were moving much smoother now. Catra had gotten things more efficient, organized and overall more productive. Adora's help also made things go much faster. She-ra's magic and super strength allowed her to do the work of over a dozen people. With Catra directing that power it was even more so. Mermista too had been given orders by Catra, splitting parts of the sea, to allow materials to be retrieved from beneath the waves. It was all together going smoothly, and Mermista hated it.

Seahawk was passing by as Mermista grumbled in a huff. "Is...something wrong my sea angel?"

"Uuugh. Yes, obviously." she growled. "Can you believe Catra just waltzing in here, giving me orders? I can point out every building that was destroyed by one of the horde tanks she ordered to invade."

"Mermista dear." Seahawk began, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Isn't it more important that Salineas is being rebuilt? Its people returning to their homes? As the saying goes, don't look a gift seahorse in the mouth. Or, something like that."

"Uuuugh, I know you're right and I hate it. Like yes, I know that this is for the best. I'm not stupid. I'm just I don't know, still mad okay? Just Catra is helping doesn't mean I have to like it or forgive her. Besides. its not like she's doing this out of like kindness or whatever."

Seahawk blinked, humming in thought. "What makes you say that?"

"She doesn't really have a choice in the matter. Its help rebuild Etheria or you'll be tried as a war criminal by the council. This is basically her doing community service."

"I can see your point. But, I don't think its that simple. Adora and Glimmer seem to legitimately trust her. So, I'm willing to give her benefit of the doubt."

"Well good for you." Mermista huffed.

Seahawk sighed. "Try not to keep making that face. It'll get stuck that way."

With that, the sailor took his leave, giving her a little wave. Mermista simply grumbled in response. A hundred or so feet away, Catra was looking over her datapad, occasionally glancing up at the work being done around her. She wore a serious, almost sour expression as she worked. Adora transformed back into her usual self after setting down some more building supplies and sidled up beside her.

"You look a little tense. You okay?" Adora asked.

Catra exhaled through her nose. "Well, I'm surrounded by people who I basically made homeless and there's water all around-Which I hate-everywhere I look. And I can feel Bubbles try to bore a hole into my back with her eyes. So yeah, understandably, little tense."

"Well excuse me for checking in with you." Adora said with a hint of humor.

"You don't have babysit me Adora. I can handle myself." She paused and sighed. "Sorry."

"Its okay. I'm used to you being a grouch." Adora snickered.

"Yeah, well I'm trying to work on being less aggro. Anyway, I'm fine. I just want to get this stuff done and go home."

"Well if you wanna take a break, I know a nice spot."

Catra hummed in thought, feeling her eyes hurt from staring at a screen. "Yeah, a break might be nice."

As the two began to walk away together there was a sudden deep rumble along the ground. A tremor rocked the whole area, not enough to cause damage but strong enough to knock people off their feet. Everyone looked around in some combination of alertness, confusion and panic. As everyone looked about several people spotted a large dark shape moving through the water. It created a massive wake as it moved closer and closer then it dove deeper into the waves, the rumbling suddenly coming to a stop. A long tense silence hung in the air and then like a roll of a thunder breaking a quiet rainy night a massive form erupted from the water.

It was a huge hulking creature, serpentine in shape. It's head was something between a snake and a moray eel, with a large beaked mouth. Shark-like dorsal fins ran along its spine and its smooth skin was colored a deep blueish grey. Yellow stripes broke up the blue along its form. Sprouting from its sides were long tentacles, that crackled with electric energy. The creature blinked with its nictating membrane and let out a bellowing hiss.

Everyone went running and screaming in all directions. Catra was quick to take charge, directing them all to one of the larger buildings at the edge of the city. Where they could all take cover. Adora followed suit, summoning her sword and transforming into She-ra. Using her blade she sent out a wave of magical energy, that went hurtling toward the creature. It lashed out with its tendrils, creating bolts of electricity that met the wave. The two energies collided, creating a massive explosion of sparks, and magical particles. The blast made one of the nearby buildings shudder and begin to topple toward some of the retreating Salineans. Adora's eyes widened and she dashed toward the falling building. The Salineans below tensed, eyes closing as they waited for the impact but it never came. Instead they found themselves staring up at the form of She-ra groaning with effort as she held up the building.

"Go now!" she cried, the ground starting to crack beneath her feet.

The Salinean's nodded and rushed off, following the others. As they ran Adora huffed and strained trying to toss the building aside. The giant sea beast bellowed and raised his tentacle to bring it down on Adora. Catra called out to her and she ordered Seahawk to help the escaping Salineans. He saluted smartly and Catra rushed off to Adora's side. As she ran, she grabbed a harpoon from the dock and hurled it. The momentum from her built up speed sent it flying through the air and piercing into the creature's tentacle. It hiss loudly, tendril flailing. It gave Adora just enough time to finally push the building off of her shoulders and dodge a swing from one of the beast's other tendrils.

From the creature's left, Mermista came gliding in on a wave of water, making it rise higher and higher. Soon a small tidal wave crashed into the beasts side, sending it toppling over. It's head slammed into the ground as the rest of it sank back into the sea. It quickly recovered, however, rising up and unleashing another bolt of electricity in Mermista's direction. She tried to defend herself with a wall of water but the blast pierced through and sent a shock through Mermista's body. She shuddered, body convulsing before she fell onto the ground face first. As it reached out toward her with a tentacle, Adora came barreling in, grabbing the tendril, and wrestling it like a snake. She then hammered a heavy punch into it sending the appendage reeling back in pain.

"What the hell is that thing?!" Catra hissed, looking around.

"Sea monster. We ran into one before. But that one didn't have electric tentacles."

Mermista groaned slowly rising to her feet. "Normally sea monsters avoid Salineas cause of the sea gate. But someone, destroyed it."

"I'm working in fixing it, okay?" Catra hissed. "Can't you like talk to the sea monster or something, Bubbles?"

"Oh yeah, it seemed like a chatterbox. Also, just cause I'm a sea princess doesn't mean I can talk to sea creatures."

"How was I supposed to know that? I don't anything about your weird princess magic!"

Adora spun around on them. "Can both of you please stop bickering and focus!"

Before either of them could reply, the beast emerged from the sea once more. Adora turned just as one of its electrified tendrils swing toward them. It just barley missed Catra and Mermista but struck Adora dead on. A powerful shock rocked through her body and like a ball being swung by a bat, she went flying through the air and into the sea several hundred feet away. A second tentacle came swinging toward Catra and Mermista, before either could call out to Adora. On instinct Catra tackled Mermista out of the way and the two rushed toward a rocky outcropping for temporary cover. Catra peaked out from behind the rock as the beast seemed to be searching for them.

"Okay, you go and help Adora, I'll distract it."

"Why should I listen to your plan?" Mermista growled.

"Cause I can't swim." Catra pointed out. "So, you're the only one who can go. If it makes you feel any better, I might end up a sea monster snack while you're gone."

"That kinda does make me feel a little better." she smiled.

The two shared a nod and Catra rushed out seconds later, getting the creature's attention. It bellowed and lashed out with its tendril, Catra doing a spinning leap to dodge and continue her forward momentum. Mermsta came sprinting out moments later and rushed toward the water where Adora had fallen. She went headlong into the water, diving straight down. As she swam downward, Catra dashed toward her destination, a salvaged horde tank. She quickly clambered up inside the turret, clicking away at the controls. It would not respond no matter what she tried.

"Piece of junk!" she hissed, slamming her fist down.

The machine suddenly whirred to life, bringing a toothy smile to the cat's face. With a loud clank she turned the turret to face the creature and opened fire. A beam of green plasma streaked through the air blasting into the monster's side and sending it howling in pain. Down below the waves, Mermista scanned her surroundings soon finding a dazed Adora perched on a seacliff. With a burst of speed she swam closer, and reached down to jostle her. When she did not stir, Mermista pulled a bubble of air from the surface, and used it to cover Adora's head. She gasped, spitting up seawater into the makeshift helmet. Her magical aura then returned and she took Mermista's hand before leaping off the sea cliff flying out of the water like a missile and landing back on the surface.

As they emerged Catra fired another shot from the turret, and the sea beast roared lashing out with its tentacle toward the tank. Catra quickly bailed, leaping out of the cockpit and tumbling onto the ground. Behind her the tank was crushed like tin foil, and exploded in a large burst of flame and smoke. Inside the shelter, Seahawk watched the battle from a window. He had to help. He couldn't just sit here and watch. That was an idea struck him from the blue. He had heard tails of such a beast like this one. A creature from deep below the waves and a group of sailors who pacified it.

With a rougeish smile Seahawk leapt from the window, grabbing a pulley rope as he fell. Slowly he drifted down and grabbed a fallen lute lodged in the sand. With instrument in hand he rushed toward the battle. Catra, Adora and Mermista dodged a swipe from the creature's tendril. Adora was reluctant to use her full strength again, lest she cause more unnecessary damage to the city. As the three tried to think of a plan, the strumming of a lute broke the chaotic noise of the fight. The trio turned to see Seahawk instrument in hand, playing soft dulcet tones.

"What are you doing?!" Mermista roared. "Get out of here."

"Wait. Look." Adora said, pointed to the creature.

As the music rang in the air, the beast seemed to stop. Its tendrils slithered back into the water, and its eyes were captivated by Seahawk. The man smiled and continued to pluck the strings, slowly adding somber, and calming singing to the soft tones. He approached, as the creature's head drifted down, its massive snout now level with him as it watched him. Seahawk started to dance a little, put a bit of flare into his performance. When the last note was plucked, he bowed and then gently touched the beast's snout. It almost purred at him, eyes blinking.

"If you stop destroying everything I'll play for you more. Alright?"

The creature let out a long whale-like bellow seeming to understand. Seahawk then stepped back as the creature rose once more. With one last wail, it slowly started to sink back into the water. Its dark looming shadow then disappeared beneath the waves, a few bubbles and a small wave in its wake. Mermista, Catra, and Adora all stared, jaw's agape in stunned silence.

"Are you kidding me?!" Catra hissed, breaking the quiet. "That actually worked?!"

"Music can soothe even the most savage of beasts." Seahawk said, flipping his hair.

"You know what, I'll take it." Catra relented with a sigh, before approaching Adora. "You okay?"

"Oh yeah I'm good." she answered, reverting back from She-ra. "I gotta be more careful though around water. I guess I can't breathe down there unless I have my magical aura up. Mermista really made a good save."

Catra turned toward the princess. "Yeah thanks for that Bubbles."

"You're welcome, I guess." she scoffed, crossing her arms. "Now that the sea monster is gone we should get back to cleaning up your mess, Kittycat."

As Mermista walked away, Catra stuck her tongue out at her. Adora then offered a thank you to Seahawk which Catra joined in on begrudgingly. He was swelled with pride for the rest of the day as repair efforts continued. As the sun began to set across the sea, the final repairs were made on the seawall. With a touch from Adora's power, the shimmering wall of force slowly spread out like a curtain, protecting the people of Salineas once more. Mermista allowed herself a small smile, which did not go unnoticed by Catra. Who watched the shimmering wall with a mixture of both pride, and shame. But she decided to focus on the former feeling as Adora took her hand.
