Tango More Like Fake-o

Chapter 14

~Last Time on Total Drama World Tour~

There's nothing like a refreshing dip in the cool salty sea water(s). At least until the unexpected happens. Something like a monstrous piece of seafood that rises from the deep and wreaks havoc on everything in its path! The Platypus' were right smacked in the middle of becoming dinner for this hungry fend had it not been for the heroic antics of a small platypus, a rabbit, and four helpful guys, but mostly the platypus. What awaits the teens now? What will be the latest challenge Chris has in store? Will anyone be safe? Tune in to the next exciting episode of Total. Drama. World Tour!

~Somewhere in a Spanish Village~

After the unexpected kraken incident Chris had to come up with a whole new challenge for the teens. As soon as everyone was dry, mostly the Platypus' and Chef, and dressed everyone was taken to a local village. It would be here where the teens would endure new forms of torture. Really it all depends on what Chris has in store but who's to say they won't be running with the bulls? One way to find out. Upon arrival the teens stood together in the town square. Awaiting Chris to explain what they would be doing today.

"Welcome everyone to The Plaza Mayor (English: Town square) a major public space in the heart of Madrid, the capital of Spain. It was once the centre of Old Madrid. It was first built (1580–1619) during the reign of Philip III. Only a few blocks away is another famous plaza, the Puerta del Sol." Chris was reading the information off of a flashcard he held in his hand. "A beautiful place isn't it? If your thinking of going shopping that'll have to wait." "Now then, since our last challenge was interrupted by a giant squid we're going to have a new challenge."

"Oh great just what we need another challenge after that fiasco." Said Heather crossing her arms looking pissed.

"Now, now this one will be easy and nowhere near any water." Chris half heartedly joked. "But seriously we're going to have a whole new challenge that involves...wait for it...(dramatic pause) Dancing~!" Chris got into a dance pose after saying that last word.

~Alejandro's Confession~

"Dancing is right in my element. I happen to have taken dance lessons for the past six years. There's no kind of dance I don't know how to do."

~Confession Over~

~Heather's Confession~

"Dancing? A if singing wasn't bad enough now I have to dance? Unless its ballet I am not dancing with any of these losers."

~Confession Over~

"Okay now in order to win this challenge you all are going to have to know how to dance." Chris began. "So I've taken the liberty of getting you all a dance instructor. Introducing Mr. Fernando Martinez, your dance instructor~!"

Low and behold a tall, dark, and handsome Spanish man stepped forth wearing a fancy looking outfit one would see dancers wear on television during those dance competitions. The man had bright green eyes, a slick beard with matching hair. He spoke in a deep Spanish accent. Greeting, telling everyone how he would be teaching them how to dance like professionals. With the help of his assistant they would be working the teens to the bone learning these dance moves. Not sure if anyone was looking forward to that kind of work.

Mr. Martinez was going to bring everyone to his dance studio but the plaza had plenty of space for dancing. The fresh air, the wide space, the music playing all around it was perfect. That said Chris stepped up to tell the teens about how the challenge was going to work. The teens would practice dancing for a couple hours then perform what they have learned to everyone in the plaza square. There would be a table of judges who would watch then vote on the best dancers. The two best dancers from each team would compete with one another till one pair was still standing. Winning the challenge and reward for their team. There was a twist to this challenge. Due to the events from earlier changing plans for the challenge not one but two people would be going home.

Nobody was happy to hear that news. Two people going home tonight could put tension on anyone. To avoid the chance of elimination everyone was going to have to bring their A game. Everyone would have to learn the dance moves from Mr. Martinez and his assistant, whoever that was. Answer, a young woman wearing a flowing dress walked up to Mr. Martinez. If this wasn't his assistant who else could she be? Relative? Never mind that, but it was his assistant Marie. Now it was time to begin the lessons. Each team would pair up with another to practice their dancing. Anyone without a partner would be paired with Fernando and/or his assistant.

"Hey Smiley over here!" Duncan cried out waving his hand to get Becky's attention. Which it did as she came running up to him, giving him a bear hug.

"Hey Duncan I'm glad we get to be dance partners for this challenge." Said Becky snuggling in her boyfriends arms. "You up for this dance competition? It would be cool if you and your team won this challenge."

"Yeah well I don't mind dancing but I don't know about this tango junk."

"I get it but its just for this challenge; and even if we don't do well our other teammates should do just as well. Let's just do our best."

While the pair was chatting Alejandro watched from a far. Deep in thought about the duo and the challenge.

~Alejandro's Confession~

"Duncan and Becky have a strong bond. As do many others in this competition. If I could break apart these couples I'd stand a better chance at winning. Hmm Duncan's already suspicious of me. Better start with an easy couple to tear apart."

~Confession Over~

Looking around Alejandro looked at the other teens who he were dating. He spotted Trent and Gwen talking to one another. The two were close and had already gone through a breakup. Probably wouldn't be easy to trick into breaking up, again. He spotted Geoff and Bridgette who were making out. They might be just the pair to crush out of the competition. Before he could make a move Fernando called everyone's attention. It was time to begin practicing the tango; unfortunately, Alejandro had no partner to dance with since he was busy plotting. Lucky for him Heather didn't have a partner either. Seeing the pair Fernando decided to partner them with one another, much to their pleasure.

They didn't have a choice in the manner. Neither was excited to be with the other. Heather was going on about how she'd rather face a charging bull then be partnered with Alejandro. Careful Heather, you might just get your wish. The pair though disappointed with their current situation had to get practicing if they wished to stay in the competition.

Fernando walked around to see that everyone had a partner. Once everyone had gotten the all clear it was time to begin dance practice. Since writing about the steps everyone had to learn could take a while and actually writing the description is a tad difficult, I thought a couple video links would be helpful.

/C7xH-RgeV3Q.

(apologies if these links don't work)

Hopefully you guys can get onto the links here to witness some tango lessons. If they don't workout I apologize. I can try giving a small description of what everyone had to do. As demonstrated by Fernando and his lovely assistant. Another assistant, a young man walked out from somewhere (not important) carrying a radio in his hands. Think of one of those classic radios with an antenna on it but it works. Music can play through it which was good because that radio would be playing the music the teens would be dancing to. With just the push of a button the music began to play. Sure there was music playing through the air but Fernando had moved everyone so the music wasn't distracting and overpowering his own music.

The sound of classic tango music began to play. The volume turned all the way up. Fernando and his assistant began to guide the teens with their dance. It was a step, step, one two three and step, step one two three. Repeat this followed by turn and turn and glide along the floor. Return to the stepping. Front and back, step-by-step. It wasn't an easy task. Not everyone could dance without tripping over their own feet or stepping on their partners. Those who could dance through the whole routine were praised by Fernando. Saying with a little more practice they would be ready for the judging. Everyone else, they would need loads of help before the competition.

~Two Hours Later~

After a whole two hours of non-stop dancing everyone was exhausted. Some fell on their bottoms cause their feet hurt. Others took off their shoes to rub their sore feet. A few did both. They were long overdo for a break. The competition was still a ways away.

"I never thought I could despise dancing so much." Said Noah to himself as he rubbed his sore feet.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ouch." Lindsey kept saying as she took her boots off. Indicating just how much pain her own feet were in.

"This girl is going to go get a pedicure after all that tango." Said Leshawna to herself.

"Man that was rough." Said Becky. "Tango dancing is no joke."

"You said it Smiley." Replied Duncan. "After this challenge I don't ever want to dance the tango again."

While everyone else was recovering and trying to regain feeling in their feet, Alejandro decided that now was the time to make his move. If he was going to sabotage the competition now was a good time. He couldn't wait any longer or he would miss his chance. Eyeing Bridgette and Geoff; he started making his way over to them when suddenly, his eyes were drawn to something, or someone I should say. Yes, Alejandro's eyes caught Lindsey's attention.

How to explain? Let's just say Lindsey wasn't in the best of moods, and that wasn't because of her feet. Okay her feet were partially to blame but that's not why Alejandro stopped walking to look at her. There was something about her facial features that drew Alejandro towards her. She looked desperate, disappointed, besides herself. Being a gentleman, Alejandro made his way to her. When he arrived he kneeled down so he could look Lindsey in the eyes before starting a conversation.

"Hola Lindsey, why do you look so gloom?" He asked her. This caught Lindsey's attention. She lifted her head up to see Alejandro's face in front of her.

"Oh hey Alejandro, I don't know about this gloom stuff but I guess I'm still missing Tyler." Answered Lindsey, her head fell down, looking back at the ground. This was the opportunity Alejandro was looking for.

~Alejandro's Confession~

"I still plan on sabotaging Bridgette and Geoff's relationship but seeing Lindsey look desperate gives me an idea. I could use this to my advantage. Lindsey is sure to listen and do whatever I say. Including sabotaging her own team." (evil smirk)

~Confession Over~

"Lindsey, your sadness breaks my heart." Said Alejandro putting a hand on his chest where his heart is. His facial expression showed sympathy. "I understand how you feel. Being away from someone you care deeply for can take a toll on you. That is why I wish to help you."

This caught Lindsey's attention. She lifted her head up, looking at Alejandro with her eyes wide open in shock.

"You mean that? You want to help me?" Lindsey asked.

"Of course I do and I know just what you should do." Said Alejandro. "You miss Tyler right?"

Lindsey nodded her head in response.

"You want to see him again right?"

Lindsey nodded her head again.

"And you would do anything to see him wouldn't you?"

Lindsey nodded her head again.

"Listen carefully, I've got a plan to get you and Tyler back together."

~A Short Time Later~

After spending more time dancing around the open space of the village, Chris came over to talk to the teens.

"Alright listen up everyone! You guys have been working your butts and feet off with all the tango lessons for the past couple hours. Based on what I've seen you guys should not take up professional dancing. (chuckles) But seriously, the judging competition will begin in an hour. You all better get changed."

"Changed? Changed into what?" Asked Heather.

"You can't dance the tango if you don't look the part for tango." Chris replied then with a snap of his fingers two interns came walking up while wheeling up a clothing rack with beautiful clothes hanging. The kind of clothe one would see professional dancers wear on television.

"Pick an outfit, change in the public washrooms over there. (points it out) Once your changed better do a little more practice before the judging. Got to break the clothes a little so you guys can dance properly. See you in an hour." With that said Chris waved goodbye and walked away.

~Heather's Confession~

"Great, its bad enough I have to be partnered with Alejandro and I had to dance tango for hours. Now I have to wear some flashy outfit? If I wasn't concerned about two people leaving tonight I'd give Chris a piece of my mind."

~Confession Over~

Everyone grabbed an outfit then went to change in the public washrooms. Too best describe each outfit I would have to go with this.

'Men dancers usually prefer to wear anice and elegant shirt and pants combination ( straight cut), made from materials that best fit the need of the dancer. Silk shirts are very popular, but other materials are also common.'

'Today, women tango dancers can even pick very short dresses and skirts . One of the primary element of every tango dress is elegance. Women can often pick tango dresses to serve a dual purpose - to be used for dancing, and to be worn when going to parties and social events.'

This best describes the outfits they were wearing. Just imagine a different color theme for each outfit depending on the person. I could list the person and the color they had on their clothes but that would take too long and it doesn't matter. I'll put the color down with said person when I get to them. Just go with the flow. Now on with the dance competition.

The plaza square was decorated with some simple decorations. From hanging paper lanterns and decorated paper Mache to sparklers handed out to the children and banners were hung out. A live band was brought out to play the music. Plus it made the competition more enjoyable for everyone. People were gathering around to watch the teens tango dance. Now who better than to judge the competition then members of the local community.

The first judge would be Mr. Martinez himself, the dance instructor. Who better to judge the teens dancing then the very man who taught them?

The second judge would be the local fisherman from earlier that day. (he had nothing better to do and didn't get the chance to judge earlier.)

The final judge would be Ms. Edna E. Mode. Yes, she was in Spain for a fashion show, and Chris managed to convince her to judge the competition. Don't ask me how he did it but he did it.

And now...let the tango dancing begin!

Chris stepped into the center of the plaza where the competition would take place. A spotlight was shun on him thanks to the help of the light crew, a spotlight and a ladder.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen!" Began Chris talking through a microphone. "I am Chris McClain and tonight you are a lucky audience because you get to watch in person the contestants of Total Drama World Tour dance for your entertainment! Introducing in person, the Total Drama cast!"

The spotlight moved to a group of people who stepped aside to allow the teen cast to walk on by. The audience clapped and cheered as the teens stepped out into the center of the plaza.

"Now let's get this party started!" Chris cried out. "Teams, assuming the dance positions! Chef will be monitoring your dancing. Anyone who can't dance will be taken out. The remaining four teams will be judged by our panel of judges. Whoever gets the highest score will be victorious. The team with the lowest score will be sent home. So who's ready to watch some tango dancing?!"

The audience cheered and applaud in response.

"Well alright then, let's tango!" Chris cried out walking away to the judging table. Cuing the band to start playing.

The band began to play upbeat music that spread throughout the air. Sending a musical vibration all over. The air, the ground, the music spread like the common cold. A cold that was contagious and spreading. Soon as the music began people on the sidelines were dancing and laughing. As for the teens, remembering their lessons they gave it their all and started to dance. Keeping in mind they had just learned to tango several hours earlier. If they sucked they sucked and if by some miracle they could pull off tango dancing then this competition was in the bag.

Now I can't say everyone had become a professional in a short amount of time. I can't say several mistakes were made. Nor could I say feet were stepped on several times. It happened, minus becoming a professional tango dancer. The best the teens could do was remember the lessons and try to make the most of it. However, there was one person who wasn't feeling the beat of the rhythm. Lindsey, she was focused on following through with Alejandro's instructions.

Their conversation from earlier, Alejandro said he could help Lindsey see Tyler again but only if she did something for him. It would just take a little sabotaging the competition. All Lindsey had to do was remember what Alejandro instructed. She was currently dancing with DJ at the moment but she was pulling him along while being careful not to draw attention from Chef. She kicked her feet out in both directions. Knocking people off their feet causing them to fall to the ground. The point of doing this was getting to the final round then purposely dancing in a horrible way which would get her voted off. Course that would mean DJ would be voted off to but it was a small price to pay.

Dancing duos were falling on top of one another. Landing hard on the ground as the music continued to play. People in the crowd could see the teens fall but assumed it was because they were having a hard time or doing it to amuse everyone. The crowd laughed out of humor. The teens who fell groaned in pain. Chef came over to help them up then escort them to the side. Soon there were only a few pairs left dancing.

Alejandro and Heather.

Bridgette and Geoff.

Trent and Gwen.

Duncan and Becky.

Lindsey and DJ.

Sierra and Cody.

Everyone else was out. It was down to the final six pairs. This meant it was time for the final dance off. Chris had the band play a different tune. One that was a little more slow and smooth. Sort of similar to the waltz but with more of an upbeat spring to everyone's steps if you will. Chris said everyone had to get serious because this is where the real judging would begin.

"Make no mistakes. The pair with the low ranking score will be leaving tonight." Chris told the remaining dancing teens.

Alejandro and Lindsey exchanged a look with each other. He gave Lindsey a nod. Letting her know she had to continue doing what she was doing but she was going to have to step it up. Becky noticed this eye exchange. It looked a tad suspicious to her.

~Becky's Confession~

"Call me paranoid but something is going on with Alejandro and Lindsey. For one thing most of the guys 'fell' when dancing. Something's going on and I'm going to need some help with this situation."

~Confession Over~

Becky whispered what she saw to Duncan. Telling him to whisper to the others so they'd be aware of what was going on. Unfortunately, the music began playing just as Duncan was whispering to Trent and everyone had to start dancing. Everyone was a tad off at first but they got on track in seconds. Soon the teens were dancing, swaying to the music. The soft melody of Latin music. How it was a wonderous thing to listen to and everyone around the teens were enjoying it. As were the teens who were no longer dancing.

While dancing Becky tried to watch what Lindsey was doing. So far, nothing suspicious. Apart from Lindsey trying not to step on DJ's feet things looked fine. Perhaps Becky had been seeing things? Then again...Lindsey looked left to right then kicked her foot out at Geoff's leg. He went ouch, bounced in pain for a few seconds, then went back to dancing. She kicked out her foot again but at Cody's leg. He did the same thing as Geoff. Hopping in place which caught Sierra's attention. Lindsey pulled DJ closer to the pair to side sweep Cody off his feet.

Gasp! Lindsey was trying to sabotage the competition, but why? What exactly did Alejandro tell her to make her stoop so low as to sabotage? What was his game plan and how to expose it? I whispered to Duncan what Lindsey was doing. He stole a sneak peek and saw Lindsey step on Sierra's foot. He whispered back that we were going to dance close to Lindsey and DJ and prey them apart. Duncan said he would grab DJ by the shirt and pull him while I pulled Lindsey away. Basically, the pair would be pulling another pair apart. It would cause a disruption in the competition but something had to be done about Lindsey.

The pair twirled their way towards DJ and Lindsey. They spun, reached their arms out, grabbed the pair and pulled them apart. Taking on a new set of dance roles. Duncan was dancing with DJ and Becky was dancing with Lindsey. It was questioning to everyone but they shrugged it off. They were dancing so it wasn't causing any problems. Chris and Chef saw nothing wrong with it. The important thing was the four of us were tangoing but with different partners. Happens plenty of times on television. Least now I've got a chance to talk to Lindsey. Assuming she doesn't pull me along for anymore sabotaging.

"Psst Lindsey, what's with the tripping and kicking? Why are you trying to sabotage the others?" I asked her in a loud enough whisper for her ears only.

"Uh...uh wh-what's sabotaging? Who's sabotaging what now? I-I don't know what your talking about." She replied playing dumb. Looking nervous and guilty, avoiding eye contact. Obviously she knew what I was talking about but refused to speak.

"Come on Lindsey, your going to have to tell me the truth sooner or later. Might as well tell me now." I told her. Hoping she would open up to me. "Lindsey...Come on buddy talk to me. I'm just trying to help."

It took a few moments before Lindsey finally spoke. With tears building up in her eyes she confessed her sins.

"I just...I just wanted to see Tyler again." She told Becky, releasing small waterfalls of tears from her eyes. "A-Alejandro said...he said if I really wanted to see Tyler again I...I...I" The tears built up and Lindsey could hardly talk.

Even if Lindsey couldn't finish talking it was obvious what was going on. Alejandro knew that if Lindsey lost for her team they would vote her out of the game. Clearly Alejandro took advantage of Lindsey's vulnerability. Take out the weakest link to get to the big cheese. If you want to call Lindsey's team that.

Before Lindsey or Becky could say anything, Alejandro came dancing into the picture. He decided to cut in between the girls. Pulling Becky away from Lindsey and into his arms. While Heather ended up dancing with Lindsey. Much to her enjoyment. Becky tried to pull away but Alejandro had a strong hold on her. Luckily, Duncan came dancing up to the pair. Pulling Becky away from Alejandro. Dipping her in the process then pulling her back up into his arms.

The crowd clapped and cheered when they saw that move. Every little dance move works to please these people. Which was good for Chris and the ratings. Now Duncan was dancing with Becky and Alejandro was dancing with DJ. If this wasn't turning into an odd dance off I don't know what was. Perhaps the best way to describe this situation would be to think of a square dance. All that spinning and swinging people around and around. Tango ha become square dancing at this current moment.

The judges watched as the teens began to spin around and tango back and forth while switching back and forth with their dance partners. What started off as a simple switch turning into this whole domino affect. Seeing how everyone was getting mixed up, Chris decided to up the antics by having the musicians speed up the music. By doing so, the teens were trying to keep with the beat all while switching partners time and time again. The crowd and the teens not dancing were wondering if this was part of the challenge.

The old fisherman asked Chris if this is how these challenges usually go but Chris said he wasn't sure what was going on himself. Still he was going with it. Total Drama was about more then just humiliation and winning challenges for ones team. It was about getting a few laughs for international television. Then within moments and without warning, everybody dancing fell to the ground. Landing on top of one another in a messed up dog pile one would see in a cartoon. The music immediately stopped after that. The crowd mumbled and talked amongst themselves while the dancers groaned in pain. Trying to wiggle their way out of the pile.

"I have to say despite that unexpected fall, everyone was doing a splendid job tangoing." Said Mr. Martinez complimenting the fallen teens.

"Arrrg, there were many fumbles and turns and spins in the dancing. Not exactly how tango goes, arrrg." Said the Old Fisherman. "Still, it was an amusing show. You young land lovers know how to entertain an old sea dog, arrrg."

"While most of you knew what you were doing some of you seem to be struggling." Began Edna. "I can't help feeling like one of you was sabotaging the others."

Lindsey looked away, hiding the guilt on her face. She knew she would be found out and though she wanted to go home, she just wanted to avoid being found out.

"Well the challenge may have been a flop but it was entertaining." Said Chris. "Now our fine judges will take a vote and decide who the winners are and who will be going home."

~Becky's Confession~

"Okay so this challenge didn't exactly go as planned. Between all that dance practice and Lindsey sabotaging the competition things could have gone better. She did look guilty for what she did. Guess its all in the judges hands now. Hopefully they make the right call."

~Confession Over~

~Lindsey's Confession~

"I think I'm in trouble. I did a bad thing and I feel guilty but I wanted to see Tyler again. (heavy sigh) Tyler...I-I...I'm...Sorry."

~Confession Over~

~Alejandro's Confession~

"Lindsey did well though she could have been a tad neater. Things got out of hand. That whole tumble accident couldn't have been more random. No matter, Lindsey's bound to leave the competition once she's found out."

~Confession Over~

After some time the judges had made their decision.

"We have decided the winning due of the dance competition." Said Mr. Martinez. "The winners are...Trent and Gwen!"

The pair was shocked for a moment but then joy appeared on their faces. They couldn't believe they had won but they did.

~Gwen's Confession~

"Honestly, I didn't think we'd win and yet Mr. Martinez called our names. I guess Trent and I did better than I thought we did."

~Confession Over~

~Trent's Confession~

"How about that, Gwen and I won the challenge. Guess it just goes to show you practicing can go a long way."

~Confession Over~

With the winners announced there was one thing left to do. Deciding on which pair had lost the challenge and would be immediately sent home. Before the judges could speak, Lindsey cut them off. It surprised everyone but she had to get something off her chest.

"Um...I-I-I was sabotaging everyone's dancing." She said with her head hung low. "I wanted to leave so I'd see Tyler again...but...I realized it was wrong and I-I'm sorry."

Everyone besides Becky and Duncan were shocked hearing Lindsey's confession.

"Well Lindsey this is unlike you to do something like this; but since you told the truth I think we can make an exception this once." Said Chris. "Two people were suppose to go home but since Lindsey confessed to sabotaging and causing everyone to tumble and fall like dominos there will be a slight change in plans." "For her attempted sabotage, Lindsey will be leaving the competition and only Lindsey."

Everyone was shocked upon hearing this. Even Lindsey was shocked but at the same time she was relieved. Before she walked away to be escorted to the limo, Becky stopped her.

"Lindsey, I'm sorry things turned out this way. Wish you could stay." Becky told her.

"Its alright Betty, maybe its for the best. I haven't been feeling up to doing things like usual. At least DJ gets to stay and I'll get to see Tyler again. Thanks for being a good friend." Said Lindsey giving Becky a hug before parting ways.

Well Lindsey's now out of the picture

Wondering what'll happen next for the rest of the teens?

Stay tune for another chapter, another challenge, and more drama
