A man was heard screaming in pain was heard as he was electrocuted by a device of sorts. He sat there once more, limp and twitching as he glared at the interrogators before him. "Talk old man! Where is Casshern?!" The young man spoke grabbing Casshern's father by the scruff of his rags.
"I told you, well beyond your reach, Dio." The man said and in turn Dio growled and pushed the man down.
"I said talk!" Dio yelled and continued to torture the man to tell him what he wanted to know.
(In an Observation Room)
Up above the woman and the large figure watched the interrogation play out. He growled as no one has seen any sign of Casshern or Luna. Not even the damn dog had been sighted and his forces were getting desperate as one by one they were succumbing to the Ruin. The woman bowed to the larger figure with her report. "Braikingboss." She began before lifting her head to him. "The old man won't tell us what we want to know and I'm starting to suspect he may have been tampering with chrono energies." The woman said as Braikingboss glared down upon the woman.
"Leda how do you know this?" Braikingboss asked and thus Leda snapped her fingers and a robot's severed head was brought it. The head then displayed the image of Casshern, Luna, and Friender vanishing into the chrono field.
"The White Devil Casshern and the Sun named Moon Luna may have escaped through time and we can't know where until we force the information out of the old man." Leda said before stepping back up. "It's my highest recommendation that we utilize a direct mind meld to acquire the information we need." Leda said making it clear where she stood on this.
"Such an action would destroy his mind with the state of our equipment." Braikingboss said as their equipment had suffered from the Ruin.
"Sir with the Ruin as it is we don't have a choice." She said and in turn Braikingboss knew that she was right.
"Very well you may proceed with the Mind Meld we need to know to when Casshern and Luna had landed.
(Scene Break Springfield 2012)
It was nighttime as the group had gathered around the stolen truck. Ever since they were framed, they were trying to figure out what to do. But first was to acknowledge the Elephant in the room in the form of Casshern and Luna. There was no point avoiding it at this point as Casshern had already showed off his super-human abilities and with Luna being accused of being the head of Cobra's daughter they needed the truth now.
"Alright Casshern start talking we've avoided this long enough." Duke said as he looked to the Neo Human.
"What do you want to know?" Casshern asked as he looked to Duke.
"Everything." Duke responded and thus Casshern sighed to this.
"We aren't from this time." Luna said as she looked to the Joes who of course found it hard to believe. "We come from the Year 2590 there the world had been ravaged by a techno-organic plague called the Ruin." Luna said as Tunnel Rat was the first to speak.
"You expect us to believe your time travelers?" Tunnel Rat asked as he found that to be total bullshit.
"It's the truth we developed a vaccine, but the plague has pushed humanity to the stage where extinction is the only end result for us not enough humans left to avoid possible inbreeding." Luna spoke but that was not all. "And with us being hunted down by machines also effected by the Ruin and those who were driven insane by it, our era was in a dire situation." Luna said as Scarlet had to ask.
"Ok assuming we believe you why backtrack to this era?" Scarlet asked as she looked to the group.
"The vaccine was useless to humanity in our era so we backtracked to a time in which the Plague had not formed completely an era in which the vaccine would be useful." Luna said looking to the group while also tinkering with a device in her hands.
"That's why we went to Cobra a Pharmaceutical Company would be the ideal place to develop and distribute the cure until all of that happened." Casshern said referring to being shot at and learning as to what Cobra was really about. "In my era to help combat the machines and ensure humanities survival I was augmented with cybernetics turning me into something beyond your average cyborg, a Neo Human a machine capable of sexual reproduction." Casshern said revealing that while he may be a cyborg, he wasn't shooting blanks like a Cyborg. "And the source of the vaccine... is her." Casshern said as he pointed to Luna. "Luna was the last human child born before the Ruin became too much yet she never succumbed to the effects or even showed any of the symptoms." Casshern said as he pointed his thumb to Luna.
"You're joking." Duke said as he found it hard to believe.
"It's true Luna was the result of a dramatic evolutionary adaptation to survive in the world filled with Ruin now if only she appeared centuries prior, we would have had no reason to backtrack." Casshern said to which Luna nodded.
"Ok then prove it, where's your time machine?" Tunnel Rat said as they then showed the Chrono Bracers.
"My father... gave us these Chrono Bracers with enough power stored for one round trip is we used it to prove ourselves we'd be stranded in your time." Casshern said and thus Tunnel Rat found it skeptical.
"IF you want more proof look." Luna said as she then showed to them a holo screen with the data from the Cobra Servers. "I was only able to get the data on me and Casshern when I tried to hack into the console this should have the proof to what we're telling you." Luna said as Shana took the device and looked at the data.
"You're not actually buying this are you?" Tunnel Rat asked but Shanna found it hard to dispute.
"Either their time travelers or their aliens." Shana said as she showed the same data to the others. "Casshern his cybernetics is far to advance for anything we have today at most we can do prosthetics for lost limbs not this." Shana said as she showed the group Casshern's data. "And here is Mindbender's study into Luna." The spy said switching data. "Her blood cells are being exposed to just about every disease in our world and their eliminating them and assimilating those left behind." Shana said showing that Luna was in fact an evolutionary miracle.
"I was trying to keep Cobra from getting this information and by the looks of it we failed." Luna said referring to the news of her being Adam's adopted daughter.
"I can understand why Cobra would want the two of you then, even something meant to heal can be turned into a weapon." Scarlet said fearing of what Cobra would do if they ever got their hands on Luna's biology and Casshern's schematics.
"I don't buy it." Tunnel Rat said but Duke cut in.
"Doesn't matter we're all targets now." Duke said and thus they knew they needed to stick together. "For now, though we need to rest and plan our next move." Duke added and thus they were all in agreement on this.
(Scene Break the Next Day Baroness)
In the remains of the Cobra facility Baroness was seen walking about with several hazmat teams walking around performing clean up and cover up. "Mindbender report." Baroness said in a hushed tone to the mad scientist. "I need you to make absolutely certain that every thread leading Cobra to your experiments has been destroyed." Baroness said as she did not sound happy. First the destruction of this facility, then the Commander hearing about Mindbender's discovery to the new orders to acquire the girl unharmed. The fact she had to do a double cover up did not leave Baroness in a good mood.
(Meanwhile with Mindbender)
Mindbender was walking through the forest tracking down a trail of slime as he had a scanner in hand. "Yeah, about that I think one of my chicks may have wandered from the nest." Mindbender said as the trail lead into a river.
(Baroness)
"Are you saying a Bio Viper survived the explosion?" Baroness asked as she was NOT happy about this news.
(Mindbender)
"I know is that fan-flipping-tastic or what?" Mindbender asked happy to see his prototype was everything he hoped for. "These things are even more badass than I realized." Mindbender said geeking out over the fact one survived that explosion. But then again, that the other guy also survived so that was a bonus.
"I just put all my resources into not only covering up their very existence and getting that girl under our watch and now you tell me one is running loose?!" Baroness demanded over the communicator as she was clearly upset about this revelation.
"Hello, I may have created an unstoppable killing machine here and that was only a beta test. I think some props are in order." Mindbender said wanting his credit for his creation.
"Perhaps I should alert the Commander that your killing machine is going public well ahead of his schedule." Baroness threatened and that got Mindbender to pull back.
"Shutting up." Mindbender said and in turn got back to work. "Tracing Bio Viper." Mindbender said tracing the trail the runaway had left for him. Nearby Snake Eyes had arrived and with his swords scooped up some of the Bio Viper slime before placing it into a vial.
(Scene Break the Joes)
Roadblock was holding Weens dog tags as he, Duke, and Tunnel Rat were gathered to morn a fallen soldier. Casshern was leaning against the truck his helmet removed revealing the brown hair underneath it as Luna was kneeling to Friender rubbing his head as the robot dog enjoyed the attention. "Would anyone like to say anything about our fallen comrade? A private 1st Class Wallace Weens?" Roadblock asked as he held the dog tags.
"I ah," Tunnel Rat began as he removed his hat and trying to figure out, and it seem difficult to say anything but said it anyways as he went, "I didn't really know Weems, uh none of us did, I guess. Actually uh, I actually found him kind of annoying I mean, I men specifically the whole nicknaming thing."
Roadblock patted Tunnel Rat's shoulder as he said to the small guy, "It's good man." with Luna seeing how this mourning is going, she came up as she give her peace, "I only know Weems for a couple of hours at best, but he was a kind man, and a brave one to save all of us in our time of need, if he was still here, I would like to say to him, thank you."
Roadblock smile to Luna seeing her heart of gold to care for person she only just met yesterday. Duke for his part gave a nod to her as her words were kind, then She soon turns to Casshern as he was still leaning up against the truck and said, "Casshern, would you say a few words as well?"
"There nothing much I could say, and it not my place to do so, because I have done enough mourning for a life time," Casshern said as heartless as it sound, Luna knew better, Casshern lost a lot of good friends back in their time either by the ruins or the war itself against the machines and bottle up his emotions to protect himself, which she wish he doesn't do.
Duke sighed as he knew he'll has to say his peace as he soon said, "Wallace Weens gave his life to save ours, we will make sure his sacrifice was not in vain."
"Done? Good, I found Santa's sack in the spare tire well, and by Santa, I mean M.A.R.S industries. We need to find out why Cobra is in bed with the world's largest arms manufacturer," Shana said as she interrupted the mourning as Duke cut in and said, "Scarlett, show some respect."
"It's Lieutenant O'Hara, and we'll have time to mourn Weems after we expose cobra, and clear our names," Shana said as she really want to nail Cobra badly as she soon push in a button on the truck, as out from below as the group look including Casshern as a weapon create came forth and open up showing all the guns in there as she said, "So pick a side arm and move."
AS Roadblock and Tunnel rat grab their chosen guns, Duke, Luna, and Casshern didn't as Shana look at Luna as the girl patted her weapon as she said, "I've already had one that I am comfortable with."
Shana nodded to that as she then turned to Casshern and she said to him, "Pick a gun." Casshern turn around not wanting to as Shana was getting annoyed by this as she said to him, "That's an order Soldier!"
"I am no soldier, let alone one of yours to order around," Casshern said as he glared at her, with Duke soon said to Shana, "You don't get it, there's no rank here anymore we're equal opportunity fugitive, and technically Civilians you pulled into this mess."
Friender bark at Duke as he seemed upset for some reason as Duke somehow got the message as he said, "Civilians and dog." Friender wag his tail to that begin included now, as Shana picks up her own weapon and everyone else too as she said, "Even Fugitives need a leader."
"How many tours have you done, how many combat mission have you lead?" Duke said to her as Casshern understand what he is meaning, as those who has seen combat are more acceptable as a leader with Shana said to him, "Don't want to take orders from me, fine but our priority is still the Mission."
"There is no mission, our priority is the men, which means food, water, and Medical treatment for your leg," Duke said as he pointed at to Shana's leg as Tunnel Rat came in as he interrupted them and said, "Whoa, ah, yeah not to break up the lover spat, but I do have field medic training."
"I have as well, and Casshern is decent with first-aid," Luna said as she meaning to the patch work, he does for her as Casshern didn't say a word to that as he's not one to boast and such. Casshern will admit he only knew basic of first aid at best which was good enough, before Roadblock came up and said, "And I could wrestle up some chow."
Duke nodded to him as giving him the Okay to scavenge for food, with Tunnel rat look at Shana's leg to see the damage as did Luna as she said, "It's not too bad, I think I know some herb or maybe a paste could treat this."
"Eh, I got something better in mind," Tunnel rat said as he soon wondered off to find something as well, with Shana had a look on her face as it seemed Duke words had reach her as she said, "He... like ripcord as a nickname, weens it was the last thing he said to me before..." She bowed her head giving the respect needed to the fallen Soldier.
(Baroness)
"Have you found the hatchling yet?" Baroness said as she wanted this whole mess to be done with already unaware of the jeep pulling up behind her.
(Mindbender)
"Well, let's just say I narrowed down its flight path to a Five-mile radius," Mindbender said as he scanned around all the forest with ever scar and cut it left on tree, and slime that his "little bird" left behind as he went on saying, "And that's the good news."
He soon kneeled down getting a stronger signal as he went on saying, "The bad news is that radius is a backwoods burb called Springfield."
(Baroness)
"Put the bird in a cage now!" baroness said as she wanted thing done now before it's too late as a familiar voice spoken up being General Abernathy as he said, "So what kind of threat are we trying to contain here Baroness? These old analog receivers still pick up stray signals. I know when someone's speaking in code."
meaning to his ears as being an old doesn't mean he deaf as Baroness soon came up with a cover story as she said, "Congratulations General Abernathy, your rogue soldiers are also Bio-terrorists, when they destroyed our facility, they released a lethal virus into the water supply. Now we need to seal off Springfield."
"My best intel specialist is leading the manhunt for these fugitives. We will bring them to justice." Abernathy said as he took out a communicator. "Meantime I'll mobilize a unit to assist you with the evacuation." The General said only to be stopped by Baroness.
"The Military has done enough damage General; Cobra will handle this ourselves." Baroness said and in turn she went to get to work.
(Later in Springfield)
"Attention this area has been exposed to a contagion and will be sealed off in one hour." A Cobra Truck was heard blaring as the drivers were wearing gas masks. The trucks were setting up a laser fence to better quarantine the area. "For your safety, all residence must evacuate outside the quarantine zone where you will be directed to a Cobra decontamination unit." The announcement called out as the people of Springfield were making a break for it to get out of the town. Drones were seen flying around as the people continued to evacuate from the town.
(With Baroness)
"That should scare off curious." Baroness said as she glared at the scene before her on a video feed from the drone. "Now retrieve your Bio Viper." Baroness ordered into her communicator.
(With Mindbender)
Mindbender was in a grocery store as he continued his search for the missing Bio Viper. "It's a mindless collection of bioengineered aggression and survival instinct you can't just whistle for it like a puppy." Mindbender said as he looked for the missing Bio Viper. "But I'm sure it will come running when it gets hungry." Mindbender said as he smirked at the crate of maze.
(Back with the Joes)
Roadblock had gotten a pot of broth going as he was cutting up some mushrooms while listening to heavy metal. Nearby Casshern was training with Friender as it was almost like the Neo Human was in a K9 unit at one point. Leaning against the truck Luna was smashing the herbs she had gathered into paste for Scarlets wound. She had plans to modify her gun as she suspected that they will be facing humans more often, so she needed her weapon to be ready for it. Thankfully she always carries spare parts for such thing as nearby her PDA like device was getting data off the truck in case, she needed to find any tricks it might possess.
Just then Tunnel Rat walked in as he carried a can in his hand before gagging. "Did something crawl in there and drown?" Tunnel Rat gagged as he approached the pot.
"Man, you ain't lived until you seen my granny's wild mushroom cap stew." Roadblock said as he had the mushrooms in his hand ready to cook.
But then Tunnel Rat saw them, and his eyes widened in panic upon them. "Don't!" Tunnel Rat cried out as he dropped the can he had before he smacked the mushrooms out of Roadblocks hands. "Those are Amanitas their poisonous." Tunnel Rat said as he looked to Roadblock after saving the team from being accidentally poisoned before sighing. "Trust me I spend a lot of time in the dirt." Tunnel Rat said to which Casshern heard.
"That would explain the smell." Casshern said as he walked on over to the scene which got a glare.
Tunnel Rat looked to the can on the ground and saw leaches crawling about. The soldier in turn began to scoop them up into the can again for their injured patient. "Oh, I hope those ain't for dessert." Roadblock said as he did not want to eat those.
"You would not survive in the future Roadblock." Luna said as she approached the scene after finishing up the paste. "With food so sparce we had to rely on Cockroaches for proteins." Luna said as she looked to the now sick looking Roadblock. "It was either that, starve, or cannibalism." Luna listed off and thus Tunnel Rat cut in.
"Don't be disgusting, there for spy ladies leg wound." Tunnel Rat said and thus Shana waved him back.
"Thanks, but no thanks, Tunnel Rat." Scarlet said as Luna then walked in and towards Scarlet.
"Again, with the Tunnel Rat." Tunnel Rat said as Luna then kneeled towards Scarlet's leg wound.
"Here this will work better." Luna said as she began to apply the paste to Scarlet's leg wound. "It might sting a bit." Luna added and when she applied it the sting did come in, but Scarlet handled it well, enough.
Just then movement was heard as from the trees Snake Eyes appeared and this caused everyone to point weapons at him, Luna included. Scarlet saw him and quickly acted to avoid the ninja being shot. "Snake Eyes. Lower your weapons." Scarlet said reminding the soldiers that Snake Eyes was on their side. Once everyone backed off Snake Eyes took out a vial and showed it to the Joes.
"That's Bio Viper material, isn't it?" Scarlet asked as she saw the vial in question. "Where did you find it?" She added worried over what it might imply for them.
Snake Eyes then took out Roadblocks MP3 player that was playing the news. "In nearby Springfield which has been evacuated and sealed off due to the release of a lethal virus." The news anchor said as this got everyone looked at it before Baroness appeared on the screen.
"This is clearly the work of the same criminals who destroyed our pharmaceutical plant in their abduction of the young heiress." Baroness said as she looked to the camera before her. "Rest assured Cobra will assist any and all of the infected." Baroness said and in turn Casshern growled to this while Friender snarled at the image of Baroness.
"There were no contagions in that lab." Scarlet said as she knew they were being set up... again.
"Cobra's going through a lot of trouble to shut down a town." Duke said as he began to piece together why they would do that.
"Don't tell us one of those things we bullseye, blew up, and barbecued is still walking around," Roadblock said as Casshern, "Always expect the unexpected, there always something that could survive an explosion, as either this viper is stronger, or it got lucky."
"we need to warn the authorities," Duke said as he pulled out a sat phone as Shana snack the phone out of Duke's hands as she said to him, "Who would believe us?"
"If that freak show is running loose, it's partly our fault," Duke said as he felt strongly about this as he went on saying, "I won't allow more innocent lives to be lost."
He quickly snatched the phone back as he kept dialing as he said, "And unlike you, Scarlet, I got inside contact we can depend on."
Luna looked towards Casshern as he saw the look on the face, with an unspoken language with them, Casshern knew Luna doesn't want people to get hurt either as he sighed to this and step up and said, "While Duke is calling his friend for help, Friender could track this thing down for us."
"Can it?" Shana said as Snake eyes walk over to Casshern and gave him the sample he collected so far as Casshern open it and kneel down to Friender as he said, "He had found a lot of things in a time of need, If any dog could track it, its Friender."
Casshern put the goo close to Friender nose as he said to it, "Track." After that Friender got a whiff of the goo, and in its view of Friender, he was not only sniffing it, by the machine dog was examining the viper sample, getting an idea of what the creature is made of, and figuring out the best solution to track down the creature.
Soon enough Friender bark out giving the signal of getting a hit as Casshern said, "He got something." Soon enough Friender takes off with Casshern following him, as Luna said, "Follow them quick!"
After that, the team quickly loaded up into the Truck with snake eyes joining them as well.
Down on the road as the Joes were follow Casshern and Friender in the truck and could not believe how fast they were going as the truck was barely able to catch up to them as is as Roadblock soon said, "Man that is one fast dog."
"Yeah, imagine if we stuck him in a Dog track race," Tunnel Rat said as thinking they could hit it big if they did that, meanwhile with Scarlet giving Snake eyes the update on the situation with Casshern and Luna, The Ninja may be silent but he listened to her, and doesn't hurt to see the proof as well with Scarlet still had the data on them too on her new PDA.
After that Snake eyes was meditating in the back of the truck for the time being as Tunnel rat look in the back as he soon asked, "Remind me why are we bringing the ninja along?"
"Because he has a sword and he knows how to use it," Roadblock said as he made some good points while Luna said, "And it's best to have all the help we can get, as no telling what we could be facing."
"I would imagine that your cyber ninja boyfriend would be tough enough to handle it all by himself," Tunnel rat said to Luna as she responded back, "Everyone had a limit, as he is powerful doesn't mean he invincible and... He's not my boyfriend!"
Luna blush to that thought, as handsome Casshern is to her, they couldn't really enjoy a moment together without some battle going on, or the other people being around them, and always busy with other things as well because how important they were to everyone, they really had no time to date if they could, and she didn't know if Casshern ever had thought of Dating at all, being a Neo human it was tough enough on him as it was.
Duke and Scarlet understood what Luna said, as even if Casshern was powerful as they all witness. But they knew that it doesn't mean that they can keep relying on him to solve every problem and no doubt everyone has their limits and didn't want to see how far Casshern could go as Duke step up on to keep up with the neo-human and dog team.
(Springfield)
With a Cobra truck passing by a farm area as it announced for everyone in the town to evacuate the area within 10 minutes, a farmer with a paintball gun came out and shot a few pain pellets at the truck while didn't do much, it's did make a bit of a pain mess as the farmer call out, "Corporate scum!"
The farm's son came up next to him to see the Cobra truck drive off as his father put a hand on his shoulder and said, "Don't you worry about no virus Mitchell, everything those cobra weasels say is a lie."
Suddenly a dog started barking as the farmer and his son turn around and see their dog barking at something in the barn itself as the son said, "What is it buddy?"
The farmer grabbed his son to make sure he doesn't get too close to the barn itself as the father went by himself to check it, and by the look on his face, he was shocked to see the mess inside and the state of his sheep were in.
Opening the door wide open as the son saw the same thing as he came up to his father and ask, "Are you sure there's no virus dad?"
"Looks like something sucked the life right out of them," the farmer said as 3 sheet that seem barely alive as it were just lying on the ground on their backs, then suddenly the ground underneath them started to rise up, and rising from the dirt itself was the Bio Viper itself, and a bit bigger than last time as it roar out seeing its next pray, with the farmer's son took off running with his dog as the farmer himself shut the doors and board it up.
"Start the truck!" the farmer said as he took off running his truck as the son was already in it, as he soon got in himself, turning back to the barn and saw the doors burst open with the Bio Viper ready for more, as the farmer got his truck started and took off like the devil was on his heels.
The truck gotten a few yards out, but it suddenly stops as it seemed the Bio viper stretch its arms out to grab the truck by its back bumper, with the farmer giving it some gas, the Bio Viper's arm snake off with the truck took off once again.
(the Joes)
Without rest as Casshern and Friender keep on running as lucky no had seen them running as they were, as the two soon reach Springfield, they quickly stopped as they got to a fence area as the truck soon slow down as Duke saw them stop all of the suddenly as Duke said, "What's the hold up?"
"The area is fence off," Casshern said as he grabbed a rock and throw it at the fence, as invisible lasers soon appear, and let out an electrical shock as duke said, "I guess we're not getting in through here."
"So how do we get in?" Roadblock ask with Shana spotted something as she calls out, "3 O'clock!" as they all look and to see a cobra truck were setting up these laser fences as it put them in one at a time as Duke Step on it and drive up to it.
With the truck soon it put down another fence the Joes drives on through behind it before the laser grid could turn on, with Casshern and Friender just leaps over it like nothing, knowing they are going in stealthy, as if Casshern break one of these things could alert the entire Cobra squad that was out there, and last thing he needed was a terrorist group trying to kidnap Luna while he dealing with a monster that could heal up.
"Okay, now how do we get out?" Tunnel Rat ask but no one answered as the truck keep following Casshern and Friender.
(Mindbender)
With Mindbender getting a lock onto the bio viper, as he used his scanner to look for it, but soon hear many engines roaring out as he turned while pocketing his device and saw many farmers that stayed were trying to leave, with one old guy on a dirt bike riding ahead of the many pickup trucks and RVs, soon hits a bump and went flying.
The old guy hit ground without harm at least, but his bike kept flying towards the laser grid fencing and got caught up in as it got blown up leaving nothing behind but scrap.
The pickup trucks and RVs soon came to a stop when they all saw this, while the old guy on the ground took off his helmet and look completely in shock to see his bike was destroyed and everyone else is now trap like rats.
The Farmer from before saw Mindbender and ran towards him as he said to him, "Turn off that fence, I'm telling ya, there's a thing."
"Hallucinations, first symptom of the virus, should have moose while the moosing was good," Mindbender said as he keep up the cover story, until the ground started to shake, as it seem the Bio viper was digging underground before it stop just before the group of people and came above ground, making everyone run as the farmer said, "IS that a Hallucinations?"
"That's a trick daddy didn't know you could do," Mindbender said as he push in his com to cobra forces as he said, "Bring in the Tube."
A helicopter came in overhead, as it lower down a containment tube of sort right behind the creature, but it wasn't open and the tube itself seem smaller than the creature, but it seemed Mindbender didn't seem to notice or care as he took out his prod and said, "Be a good Synthetic soldier."
He turn it on, threatening the Bio Viper with it as it roar out and back away from Mindbender before bumping into the tube, as it notice it before turning around to grab it and started to pull the helicopter down with it as the pilot in it try to fight against it as he pull up, accidently breaking the rope with the Bio viper throwing the tube down as Mindbender quickly called out on his com, "Taxi!"
Another helicopter lower down as Mindbender quickly rush out to it with the other farmers following after thinking they were being rescued, but instead it took off without them as Mindbender got on as he said to them like he gave it his best as he said, "Well I tried, you're on your own townies!"
The farmers were left for dead it seem as the creature turn towards them, but before it could move, Friender quickly rush in and leap up at the creature, taking off one of its arms, with Casshern rush in and cutting it down with his hands in pieces with the Joes driving by as they soon stop, and came out with gun in hands as well as Luna herself.
"Hey, what kind of monster did you Cobra scum unleash on our town?" The same farmer from before said to the Joes not understanding who they are as Shana said to them, "Let get one thing straight, we are definitely not Cobra."
"Who are you then, and what up with that weirdo in white, and his dog," the farmer pointed out to Casshern and Friender as Duke Answer him, "We're just ordinary Joe sir, and that guy who just save you is a friend."
"Heads up!" Casshern called out as the Bio viper started to regenerate now. Soon it fully formed and quickly swing its arm at Casshern and Friender as it sent them away as they skid across the ground a bit with Duke yell out, "Run!"
The joes and Luna took aim and fire at the creature, as it was hardly affecting it, but was still getting hurt by the shots as it quickly run over to a tractor and throw it at them with the Joes scatter and Snake eyes leap over it and came face to face with the Bio viper.
Quickly pulling out his swords as he leaped over to avoid the slime monster attack and quickly counterattack against it as he cut it down with his sword while it falls apart, but then regenerate soon after as Duke had a spare firearm on hand as he throw it to Snake eyes and said, "It's gonna take a lot more than a sword to stop that thing."
Snake eyes grab the gun and fire at the creature, making it break down in pieces before it heals once again.
"Yo, Townies. let's try going underground," Tunnel rat said pointing to a storm cellar as everyone quickly rushes to it as Tunnel rat and Luna lead everyone down as Luna said, "Stay calm, and don't worry my friends and these men are here to help."
(Baroness)
"Mindbender, what's going on out there? I didn't order an assault," Baroness said as she hears gun fire from outside the area as Mindbender reported, "It's those soldier boys, and that guy in white again. The ones that torched my lab, they're alive and kicking, including that blonde chick."
"Not for long," Baroness said as she stepped out from her mobile command post as it was a large transport that's part to another truck that held something within it as she asked the man in the driver seat, "What did Mr. McCullen send us?"
The man opened the truck and out came a missile that look like it could blow up half the town if possible as Baroness smile to this as she said, "Ah, dual air explosive. Mars industries manufacture the best toys."
(Mindbender)
The guy saw what Baroness had before, he quickly called out to her and said, "No-no-no Whoa-whoa! A-aren't we missing a primo opportunity here. I mean heavily armed enlistees and some superhero wannabe with his mangy mutt trapped inside an electronic battlefield with an unstoppable force of nature?"
Mindbender watch as the Joes and Casshern fight against the creature, but it seems it won't go down as easily as the others before for some reason as Casshern was even having a bit of a hard time fighting it with Friender as well as mindbender went on saying, "This is gonna be entertainment at its finest."
"I have no time for foolishness. Prepare to launch," Baroness order as they were about to fire the missile until Mindbender soon said to her, "That's too bad, because I know the Commander has a lot riding on the success of his Bio viper program, and did I forget to mention or not that the Blonde girl is there, the one call Luna, the one with the crazy miracle genes that is a find of a life time!? I would hate to have to tell him that you not only put the kibosh on the ultimate field test, but you blow up the one the girl that we were supposed to bring to him intact which I don't think blowing her up mean keeping her intact now does it?"
Baroness eyes widen to that as she cursed herself as she forgot about girl. More so if Luna were ever to die before they could get her, Baroness knew it would be her head on the chopping block. She quickly called off the missile when she said, "Abort!"
(with the joes)
The Joes minus Casshern continued gunning down the Bio-Viper but their attacks were proving useless. Just then Shana looked upward to the Electrical Wires and recalled how these things originally reacted to life wires. "Change of plans." Scarlet said to which Duke looked to her.
"There was a plan?" He asked and thus Duke smirked when he saw what Scarlet was looking at.
Duke then signaled and in turn Snake Eyes and Casshern charged in with fast slices of sword and chops of arms. The result was the Bio-Viper being torn apart by their combined efforts. But after Snake Eyes sheathed his sword the Bio-Viper reformed and thus it was clear that what they did was not enough. But Casshern knew they were acting as distraction for the real plan to take place. For her part Scarlet with expert aiming fired at the electrical wires above freeing it for Duke to use.
The Bio-Viper meanwhile was attacking Casshern and Snake Eyes who drew it towards Duke's position. Duke then began to approach the Bio-Viper with the live wire causing it to ease back in fear. Getting closer their plan was simple if the wire Duke has doesn't do it in the laser grid behind it will. But then the wire was snagged leaving Duke unable to move any closer on the creature.
The Bio-Viper was about to take advantage of it when all of a sudden Roadblock rolled in with farm equipment active. The Bio-Viper backed off to avoid it only to hit the laser grid instead. The result was almost instant as the creature screeched out in pain from the surge it felt before it finally exploded. Its remains began to rain down from above landing on the crops around them.
(Underground)
They people hiding in the basement all went wide eyed to this. "What was that?" Luna asked shocked over that sudden shaking.
"Joes you alright?" Tunnel Rat asked as he spoke into his communicator.
The group began to climb out hoping the chaos was over. Tunnel Rat opened the basement and from there the dog ran out. "Buddy!" The boy cried out and chased after his dog.
"Kid wait/no stop!" Tunnel Rat and Luna cried out and in turn gave chase to the boy.
"Mitchel no!" The boy's father cried out as he also chased after his son fearing the danger was not over yet.
(Later over with the Joes)
Scarlet was gathering bits of the Bio-Viper into a plastic bag not happy about it but glad to walk away with something. "It's not much of evidence but it's a start." Scarlet said while holding the bag in her hands.
Just then Mitchel's father ran in with Luna and Tunnel Rat. "Have you seen my son?" He asked with fear and concern for his boy.
Just then the dog buddy ran over to the group causing Mitchell's father to hug the frightened dog. Meanwhile Friender was snarling as he could sense danger while Casshern felt it to. From the line of corn, the Bio-Viper appeared and much to everyone's shock it was still alive and well. As it approached their position the Joes with Luna all aimed their guns at the Bio-Viper. But it was Luna who noticed a problem.
"Wait stop the Bio-Viper has a hostage!" Luna cried out and thus everyone was forced to lower their weapons when they saw the Bio-Viper had Mitchel inside its form. The good news was that the boy was still alive, but the bad news is that they don't know for how long he'll stay alive.
The Bio-Viper was seen moving towards the greenhouse nearby as the soldiers all moved to avoid being noticed by the creature. The creature tore the doors off while the group hid behind a set of doors. "We can't shoot at it. We have to find another weakness." O'Hara said as she held the bag with the Bio-Viper material on it.
"Haven't you been paying attention? That grizzly don't do weakness." Roadblock said but Luna stepped in.
"Maybe not." Luna said as she took the bag, opened it, and stuck a item into the substance within. She then took the scanner she had and put it inside for a proper analysis. "Well, this would have been useful to know." Luna said as everyone looked to her. "The material is all plant-based watch." Luna said and poured some of the material onto a stray bit of corn. "It's sucking out all of the nutrients." Luna said and thus the farmer had to ask the big question.
"So why hasn't it done that to my son?" He asked concern clear in his voice.
"For lack of better terms, it's not hungry, yet." Luna responded and thus this meant it was only a matter of time before it was hungry. "But this means we have a weakness to exploit." Luna said and thus Casshern saw where this was going.
"So, all we need is a boatload of weed killer." Roadblock said and in turn Casshern smirked to this.
"Then it's a real good thing we're on a farm." Casshern said meaning they now had a way to take this creature down. With this in mind they now had a plan to take down the Bio-Viper and save the kid before it was too late.
(Later)
Shana came to a windmill as she shot up her grappler and rode up it with a grappling reel as she soon reached the top, jump up onto the platform as she clicked her coms and said, "O'Hara in position."
Looking down to see the Bio Viper with Mitchel inside of it, as she hopes this plan works for everyone sake.
In the cornfield Duke crawl up and saw the Bio viper himself as he clicked on coms too as he said, "Duke in position."
"Roadblock in position," Roadblock said as he crawled through the corn field as well with a tank of weed killer on his back while Tunnel rat was climbing a hill as he hit his coms and said, "Tunnel rat in Position… that's right I said Tunnel Rat."
"At least your being more open about it, Luna and Friender in place," Luna said as she had her finger on her head gear, as she somehow got the com signal from the joes, while she was behind a tractor with Friender as the dog stood ready to fight while Luna had the weed sprayer in her hand.
Casshern stood at a distant from it as he tapped to the side of his head, no doubt he had a build in com in his head and pick up the joes' com signal as he said, "Casshern here, in position."
"Let's go!" Shana said as Duke suddenly ran up behind the creature and fire a couple of shots at it to get its attention, and it worked as the Bio Viper turn to him and follow afterword.
Coming up to Tunnel rat and Luna positions, the two came out of their spots to spray the creature at its leg, as it started to work when steam came forth and the bio material it's made of started to break down as it turn around to chase them, but Friender came up and pretty much bite at the Bio viper legs and torn them apart, helping further before Casshern and Roadblock came in and as Casshern held the creature down while Roadblock spray the weed killer on the creature back, creating an opening to allow Duke to grab Mitchel and pull him out before the Bio Viper could have a chance to recover.
With that Mitchel went to his father as the boy and father hug each other before Luna came up with Friender and said, "Come on, over here!"
While she leaded them away, Casshern took the opportunity to throw the Bio viper in an open area, where it cannot feed on anything to recover, and charge at it to keep fighting against it.
(baroness)
Baroness saw how the Bio Viper was losing as it face against Casshern with the joes backing him up, she called out saying, "Mindbender, report back to me immediately."
"Ah yeah, no can do. Um, wanted criminal, tell Uncle Sam I said howdy do," Mindbender said as it seemed the military was coming with a combat unit, as she quickly got outside of her mobile command and shout out to the driver in the missile truck as she said, "Pack it up now!"
With that, the missile was lower down in the truck before the military could see it, as a jeep drive up to Baroness as the officer who was driving the jeep with a military lady next to him as the officer said to Baroness, "Lieutenant Fairborn, army Intel. I am here at the behest of General Abernathy, and I require access."
Turning off the engine and got out to speak with Baroness more closely as she said to him, "Your general assured me there would be no military interference."
"Yes, Ma'am but seeing as how you aren't wearing a gas mask, I Assume that the virus is all cleaned up and you can shut down the fence," Lieutenant Fairborn said to her as Baroness stood her ground and hope to stall for more time if she can.
(the joes)
Tunnel rat was spraying the Bio viper as much as he can, but it seem the creature has adopted a bit to withstand the weed killer, that doesn't mean it was slowed down as from behind, Casshern punch throw it making a hole before Friender came running up front as he charge at the bio viper with Casshern pull out avoiding Friender as the robot dog make the hole bigger.
Before it can recover, Shana fire a grappler line through the hole of the creature, before using her laser crossbow as a hook to zip line down the rope through the creature while leaving behind a full tank of weed killer while the Viper soon regenerate itself with the tank inside of it, as Duke took aim and said before he fired at it, "This is for Ripcord!"
He soon fired and causing the tank to glow brightly before its exploded massively, with the weed killer destroy a large part of the Viper with it.
(baroness and the Lieutenant)
Everyone heard the explosion from outside the fence as the woman in the jeep had a shock look on her face as she lightly gasped and said silently, "Duke."
"Time's up. Shut that fence down now, or I will tear it to shreds!" Lieutenant Fairborn said as he was serious about it with Baroness having no other choice but to obey the order.
(the joes)
Everyone was spraying all the week killer they had at the piles of Goo the Bio Viper left behind, so it would no regenerate from its remains while Casshern double check the area to make sure none of it landed in the corn field or any other area with plant life with Friender's help.
"Not bad for a bunch of Ordinary joes and that fella in white," The farmer from before came up to the joes and Luna who were taking care of the Bio viper last remains, as he and the other farmers came up to them and said, "We owe you, our lives."
"We owe you a mess of weed killer," Roadblock said as he held up empty tanks of the week killer as the farmer smile and said while giggling a bit, "Let's call it even."
"You got guts Lieutenant, for a spy," Duke said as Shana smile at this as she walk pass him as she said to him, "Call me Scarlet...grunt." she smirk at that last part as she walk away, with Duke give a smile himself before he notice many military vehicles coming up to them quickly surrounding the Joes and Luna, with Casshern nowhere in sight as the joes had their guns in hand not knowing who the people are coming up to them are.
The military came up with firearms and shield in hand as someone calls out, "Freeze!"
"Drop your weapon soldiers, hands where we can see them," a soldier on a microphone said as the guys with the shield came up and push the farmers away from the joes as the soldier said to them, "The rest of you stand back."
The joes didn't know what to do at this point, with Luna held up her hands showing she didn't want any trouble, with some military grunts saw her and quickly grab her arm, dragging her away from the joes as she said, "Hey!"
"I'm sorry miss! This is for your own protection," the soldiers said as they move her away from the scene, with the joes didn't know what to do, as if should they start blasting their way out or give up, with the answer came quickly as Duke power down his weapon and drop it to the ground, with the others following soon afterward.
The military jeep pulled up and park as Fairborn and the lady with him got out of the jeep as the Lieutenant started to say something out of the blue as he said, "State Championships, ten seconds on the clock, Inches from the end zone and trailing by six. Center snaps the ball and what happens Duke?"
"You sack me, Flint," Duke said like his prime got hurt with that one as both ladies around came up and said the same thing at the same time, "You know him?"
"So, I'm guessing this situation feels a little familiar. Why'd you do it Duke? Somebody pay you to blow up that plant" Flint said as he looked around and saw someone missing as he went on saying, "And where that white Vigilante friend of yours as well?"
"It's a long story flint, as for the guy in white, wow would I know?" Duke said playing stupid of where Casshern is at, as he hoped he can take Luna while all attention were on them, as Flint said to Duke, "Well I for one can't wait to hear the whole thing... at your court martial."
At that point a truck was driving up fast, as in it was Snake eyes as he throw some smoke grenades at the group, filling the whole area with Smoke as Duke push Flint back before grabbing his gun from the ground as he came in front of the lady who was with Flint, as Duke seem a bit worry for a moment, before the lady throw him a set of keys to the jeep without saying a word.
During this, as the soldiers who were protecting Luna back away from the smoke, as they didn't get caught in it, but before they could do anything, the sound of Friender coming at one of them as he bark and tackle one of the soldiers down, with the other pointed a gun a at the dog, something drop down behind him and the soldier suddenly got hit from behind, knocking him out as it show Casshern was there to save Luna as she call out, "Casshern."
"We need to get out of here now!" Casshern said as he picked up Luna like a princess and took off with her with Friender following behind as they jump up onto the truck, while the joes took the Jeep and drive off fast.
With the smoke clear up, Flint saw the joes were leaving with one of Cobra's stolen trucks followed after behind them with Flint was surprised to see the white Vigilante on top of the truck with Luna in his arms, as he wondered how the hell did, he get there, as he soon order out to everyone, "Follow them, and rescue the girl! Go-Go-Go!"
After that everyone got in their vehicle and drive off after the joes, with Flint soon realize his jeep is missing as he said, "Where's my jeep?"
The lady who came with him walk up to him and said, "Next time sir, I suggest you not leave your keys in the ignition." With that she walks away soon after.
(With Casshern and Luna)
After passing by another Cobra truck the pair had entered the van to find Snake Eyes driving it. Casshern put Luna down as they took a seat inside the stolen Cobra truck. "So now what?" Luna asked as Casshern held her bridal style. "If we can't get the cure made now then are coming back to this era would be for nothing." Luna said knowing they had to find a way to get the cure made so they can stop all the chaos from their era from ever coming about.
Casshern had his faceplate open back up once the danger had passed before he began to speak. "I'm guessing we fight, stay ahead of the law, expose this... Cobra, and clear our names first." Casshern said as this meant they were fighting an underground war against what is basically a criminal organization bend on world domination.
"So basically, our era minus a plague." Luna quipped to which Casshern nodded in response to this. "Looks like we're soldiers again." Luna said and thus they agreed on this turn of events.
(Scene Break with Baroness)
Baroness was reporting to someone on a video screen over the recent incident in Springfield. "Unfortunately, we lost the Bio-Viper Prototype, but the Virus cover will hold." Baroness reported to her boss.
"Good then Cobra Industries will be spared further scrutiny in the wake of this... incident." The man said on the screen looking to Baroness through the camera on his end.
"There is the small matter of the renegade soldiers and the two civilians." Baroness said and thus the man one, Adam DeCobray stood up.
"Small matters have a way of unravelling into loose ends and you know how I feel about loose ends." Adam said as he looked to the woman on his screen.
(With Adam DeCobray)
Though as the CEO of Cobra spoke his real face a dark brooding man in a mask glared at the screen of a large monitor that showed his motion capture that Adam DeCobray was an alias. "I trust you will handle these renegade soldiers with your usual efficiency and the girl if Mindbender is to be trusted may be the key if not the final ingredient to attaining true Immortality, she will be brought to us, and her secrets unlocked in fact... I Command it." The man spoke making it clear that victory will belong to Cobra.
(Scene Break 2590 Braikingboss)
Braikingboss sat in his throne as he could all but feel the ruin inching ever closer to him. Leda walked in as she looked to her leader. "Braikingboss, we managed to retrieve what we needed from the man and have our engineers recreating his machine." Leda said as Braikingboss glared at the woman with him. "But we may need to accelerate plans for our journey... we're losing more of our forces to the Ruin." Leda said and thus Braikingboss growled and stood up.
"Then get me a working prototype and send Dio in first." Braikingboss said as he glared at Leda. According to historical text that he found and put back together he knew of one group who would be of aid to them, a group that carried the crest of a Cobra. "If the present is lost to us then we shall instead claim the past and a new future with it." Braikingboss growled and thus they had a plan of attack.
"As you wish, Braikingboss." Leda said and thus with her new orders went to inform Dio and the engineers of it and left Braikingboss to his own devices and ambitions.
