Spider-man races through the city to reach the Brooklyn precinct. He vaults over an apartment rooftop before casting another web to continue swinging. Just as he gets close, the robotic voice wired into his mask alerts him.

"Incoming friendly communications." ISAC announces.

"Welcome aboard, Spider-man."

"Who is this?" Spidey asks.

"I'm Louis Chang, Northeast Senior commander of the division." He replies. "Agent Lau said you are back and kicking."

"Well, more like swinging. You caught me at a bad time, so can this wait a bit? There's trouble at the Brooklyn Precinct."

"No need to worry. Two agents are on their way to take care of it."

"Borovic and Springfield?"

"No, just some more recently activated agents."

"Ok, time out." Spider-man lands on top of a chimney and sits down at the edge. "I don't understand how I find a reporter and a medical doctor suddenly running around like trained well soldiers. How did you do this?"

"It's ok. You've got a lot of questions and I'll be happy to give you answers." The commander breathes in to give himself time to think. "We've recruited not the strongest people, but the right people, and train them to handle a catastrophe when it arrives. Until the moment came, they're normal people living their daily lives."

"I kind of figured out that part. The dramatic information dump from that woman didn't help."

"Yeah. I wished agent Lau gave all of this to you slowly. We even tried to reach out and recruit you months back."

"Are you guys that eager to have me as an agent? Because I don't think having agent and spider-man together works. Maybe it can with some clever word play."

"Maybe." The Division commander chuckles a little. "Let's get back on topic. I've spoke to the feds and have given you permission to work alongside our agents in our effort to take back New York. Look after our agents and they'll give you the help you need to take back Manhattan."

"Yeah, you and your agent keep saying Manhattan is bad. Mind telling me how bad is it?"

"It's-" The commander suddenly stopped talking. "I'll get back to you later on that. The JTF lost the precinct and are fighting against heavily armed rioters to take it back. Get to it, Spidey."

Spider-man doesn't say another word as ISAC ends the call with the Division commander. He leaps forward and swings his way to the precinct. The gunfire grows louder as he gets close.

-Brooklyn Police Precinct-

At the back-parking lot of the Brooklyn police station, soldiers of JTF engage in a grueling battle with Rioters who have taken control of the building. The JTF duck underneath police cars and armored vans as a squad of rioters shoot any JTF trying to move closer. A JTF officer passes his semi-automaic rifle to a private.

"Move up and suppress fire, Jonas."

Jonas rushes over behind a police SUV. He takes a couple of breaths as bullets slam through the windows. He then leans out and fire a couple of rounds. However, the rioters shoot back and hit him in the shoulder and leg. Jonas cries out and spins to the ground. He lays flat and still on the ground, but is only wounded, not dead.

"Jonas!" The JTF officer curses under his breath. "We're seriously outgunned and pinned. Where's the back up?"

"I don't know, sir." A JTF soldier responds. "Hold it, someone is coming in from behind."

Two men rush past the gates. One of them, young with pale skin in a black beanie and brown leather coat stays back behind a dumpster and pulls out a rifle. The other had armored padding with the words NYPD written on the left of his armored vest slides behind a brick wall next to the two JTF officers.

"Oliver Borovic from the Division." Oliver says quickly. "What's the situation?"

"Glad you're here, agent. Jonas is over there wounded. We got to take out these hoodlums."

"Alright, I'll move up and get to him." Oliver says. "Shane, get ready to cover me."

Oliver stands up and deploys a tall ballistic shield in front of him. He moves forward slowly as rioters start bouncing bullets off his shield. He pulls out a semi-automatic pistol and fires. As Oliver draws the gunfire to him, Shane breathes in and fires. One rioter falls back before he switches his sights and presses the trigger, taking out another gunner.

"Move up!" The JTF officer yells.

JTF soldiers advance closer to the building. Oliver folds his shield up and ducks behind the car where Jonas was. He grabs the JTF soldier and sits him up. He signals Shane with his hands.

Shane drops the rifle and pulls out a small device loaded with a healing stimulus. He fires it at the wounded JTF soldier and the healing stimulus heals him up. The JTF soldier finally stands up and fires a couple of shots to take out more rioters from the balcony.

"There we go!" The JTF officer yells. "Pour it on!"

Oliver deploys the shield again and steps out to press forward. A rioter runs out onto the balcony with a loaded Molotov cocktail. He tosses it at Oliver before the former NYPD officer freezes in place. Before it could land, something snags the firebomb out from midair. A second later, the rioter on the roof is yanked off and webbed onto a wall. Oliver, Shane, and the JTF look up to Spiderman hanging upside down from a lamp post.

"Hey Ollie." Spider-man greets. "I like the shield."

"Oh my god." Oliver mutters. "I…"

"Speechless? Understandable." Spider-man replies. "Good work by the way."

"Right. Let's not celebrate just yet."

"Alert! Hostiles incoming!" ISAC announces.

More rioters step into the balcony and fire with handguns. Shane starts picking them off with his rifle. The coms pick up chatter.

"Brooklyn Dispatch, this is Senior commander Louis Chang. We've got agents assisting at the 84th, but all entrances are blockaded."

"Division agents?" Brooklyn Dispatch responds. "That's the best news I've heard. Try the back-parking garage provided we get that gate open."

"Division agents and Spidey, you heard that? That's the way in. Go get them."

Shane gets up and switches out to an assault rifle before joining up with Oliver and Spider-man. Spidey uses his webs to pull the gate back and clear the path. Oliver takes point with the ballistic shield with Shane moving close behind. Spider-man leaps up to a light pole and watches the two in action as rioters storm out and open fire with pistols.

Oliver slows down his advance as Shane leans out and fires in semi-automatic shots at Rioters slowly backing away as they fire blind. Spider-man leaps forward to a group of daredevils preparing to toss smoke grenades at the agents. He knocks one down with a landing kick as another tosses his grenade out.

Spider-man intercept it and throws them back at the group. The rioters wobble around dazed as smoke irritates their eyes. Spider-man waste no time to kick one back onto a pile of crates. He switches over to the last and kicks him gently up to the wall and shoots several fluids of webs to tie him onto the wall.

Spider-man turns around to see Oliver knock a rioter out with his shield. Shane fired a shot and hits a daredevil's backpack, setting off the grenades inside to explode. The explosion tosses him to the side as Shane loads another clip to his rifle.

"That never gets old." Shane laughs to himself.

"Nice shooting there, soldier." Spider-man says. "But a little warning could be helpful."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I got caught up." The sharpshooter replies. "It won't happen again."

"Gents, lets get into the parking garage and clear it out." Oliver cuts in.

Oliver runs forward with Shane. Spider-man tags along with them inside. Shane and Oliver duck behind cover and wait for a second. The three can hear the rioters chat.

"I say we kill them before they could ID us." One rioter says.

"No! Those hostages can't do anything in their cells with Gary keeping watch. We'll know when the JTF get inside and when that happens, Gary will do the honors."

"Christ!" Oliver curses to himself. "We can't go in without alerting the rioters."

Spider-man rubs his chin and looks around until he spots an air conditioning duct on a wall.

"Ollie, you know where these airducts go?"

Oliver looks up and sees what he's seeing before a grin grew on his face.

"Yeah, they'll work." Oliver says. "You do your thing and we'll be taking out the rioters once that jail cell is secure."

Spider-man leaps quietly to the air duct and crawls his way inside. He moves through the ducts as Oliver speaks to him through the coms.

"I forgot to tell you how to get to the cells through the ducts. Just climb up and take a left. There should be a hatch that's above the jail cells. Let us know and we'll start the party."

"Ollie, you got the inner works of this building narrowed it down."

"Not really, ISAC got blueprints on the building. Force of habit of scoping the building inside and out. Anyways, ISAC is going to mark your objective on through your lens."

"Wow, that's a quite a handy piece of software."

"You don't know the half of it." Shane is now speaking. "Now hurry up. I want to drop them before they realize we're in the garage."

"Steady there, boy." Spidey says. "I'll be quick."

"Your objective has been updated." ISAC announces.

ISAC projects a line for the hero to follow. Spider-man climbs up the tight airduct and moves to the left. He slows down as he hears someone whistling. He climbs up to a hatch and spots a rioter holding a shotgun as he paces back and forth in front of the jail cell with several JTF officers.

"Five weak JTF soldiers in the cell, five ol weak JTF officers." The rioter sang out of boredom. He points his shotgun at a JTF soldier. He pretends to pull the trigger, making his victim flinch. The thug laughs and continues to sing. "Take one out, toss him out the back, four-"

The Rioter is suddenly yanked up and webbed to the ceiling. Then, Spider-man drops down and waves the hostages from the other side of the bars. He looks up to the rioter stuck to the ceiling and shoots a web to his mouth to shut him up.

"Oh, thank god you're here Spider-man." A JTF exclaims quietly. "That guy had an itchy trigger finger."

"And his horrid singing." Spider-man quipped. "He should keep his day job."

"Yeah." The JTF sits up and points. "Get to the computer to free us."

"Sure, in a minute."

Spider-man goes onto his coms to report his progress to Oliver and Shane. Spider-man then gets onto the computer to unlock the cells. Gunfire begins to erupt from downstairs as Spider-man enters the command to unlock the cells. The JTF step out and stretch their arms out.

Spider-man breathes a sigh of relief. Then, he hears a rioter screaming from an intercom next to the computer on the desk.

"Gary! We got JTF inside! Kill them!"

"I'm sorry. Gary can't make it to the phone. I'll be happy to give him the message."

"Who is th-" The rioter stops talking for a moment. "Oh, come on! We're screwed boys!"

"Alright. I'll pass that over to Gary."

The intercom ends. Suddenly, a rioter enter the room running. Before Spider-man could do a thing, two shots ring out and drop the rioter onto the ground. A second later, Shane and Oliver appear.

"He was going for the hostages." Oliver wheezes out of breath.

"Good thing I dropped him." Shane replies back to the SWAT officer.

"Yep." Oliver nods to Spider-man. "Good job on getting the hostages secured."

"Well, it's nothing. But it seems a man named Ripper is making a run for it."

"He's the gang leader in charge of the siege. Probably heading to the roof." Oliver cuts in. "He's going down alive or dead."

"Let's hope we get to alive." Spider-man turns his head to the hostages. "You guys good."

"Yeah, you guys can go ahead." The JTF officer replies. "I heard the rioters and their leader talking about an escape through the roof."

"Alright. We got to make it fast." Oliver folds his riot shield and talks to Shane. "Remember that maneuver I taught you."

"Keep them down while you get in with the shotgun. Sure." Shane says before talking to Spidey. "We got this bit. It'll take a moment."

Shane and Oliver run up to the offices. A couple of rioters enter to take on the agents. Oliver pulls out a shotgun and moves from one cubicle to another as Shane draws the rioters attention by firing over their heads. Rioters turn to shoot at Shane as Oliver moves up from the side and takes one rioter out at a time. Shane quickly gets up and runs with Oliver to the doors leading to the roof access.

Spider-man steps out onto the roof with them. He spots a JTF helicopter circling around shining a light at the targets. Shane and Oliver rush in to fight the remaining rioters as Spider-man leaps up and latches onto the side. The pilot jumps in his seat as Spider-man holds on.

"Don't worry about me," He says. "Just be careful and get me close."

"Alright."

The helicopter strafes to the left as Oliver deploys his shield to block the gunfire. As Oliver draws the attention, Shane fires semi-automatic shots at the rioters backing away while firing blindly. Then, the leader of the pack steps out with a rifle in hand.

"You are going to get it now." Ripper tosses a grenade at Oliver, forcing him to drop the shield and dive for cover. Then Ripper glances at the rioters who stand there frozen. "What are you useless dumbasses doing? Kill them!"

At that moment, Spider-man uses his webs to reel himself in and punches Ripper to the wall. The wall crawler then webs him to the floor before glaring at the remaining rioters.

"You really want to throw down?"

The rioters didn't say a word but drop their weapons and toss their grenades away before getting onto their knees as Oliver and Shane train their guns. Shane notices a SCAR-H resting next to Ripper and picks it up.

"I'll take this, thank you very much." Shane says.

Oliver tosses his semi-automatic pistol away and picks up a revolver and better kneepads from a corpse before joining with Spider-man. He claps slowly but laughs out loud.

"We did it!" Oliver cheered. "And it's all thanks to you, Spidey."

"Hey, don't give me all the credit. You two did pretty well."

"Excellent work, Agents." Louis Chang announces on the coms. "Brooklyn is stable again. Manhattan is a different story. Let's go over there and see for ourselves. I've got a few more agents with me. We'll rendezvous with Faye Lau. Spider-man make sure Oxton and Springfield get there on time.

"Sure thing." Spider-man replies.

"We'll meet you at the pier." Oliver says while rolling his hand forward. "We can't keep the commander waiting."

"Alright, boss." Shane says teasingly.

Spider-man hops off the roof and swings away as the two division agents fast rope down and hurry over to a docking area further down from the precinct.

-John Oxton and Freya Springfield-

The other two Division agents hurry down the street for the docks, marked on their hud thanks to ISAC. They spot Spider-man perched on top of a lamp post and stop in their tracks for a moment. Spider-man waves to the two.

"Back already?" John says.

"Well, I got orders from the senior commander." Spider-man replies. "He says he's flying in."

Freya looks up and points to the sky before giving a smirk. "I take it that will be our flight to catch."

Spider-man looks up to see an Osprey V-TOL aircraft flying past the Brooklyn Bridge. It circles around the docks before it goes to hover mode to land.

"Yep, that's definitely a plane for the division." Spider-man mutters.

"Then we mind as well hurry." Freya replies. "They can't wait for us for too long."

The two agents start to run for the landing zone as Spider-man follows behind. As they get to the location, the ground shakes a little followed by an explosion in the distance. Spider-man and the two agents look ahead as smoke begins to rise.

"Tell me that wasn't us." Freya muttered.

"This can't be right." John muttered.

John quickly gets on the coms and first calls Faye Lau, then Oliver, then Shane, and finally the Division senior commander. He cuts the coms and looks at Spidey and Freya with a doomed look.

"They aren't responding. Something isn't right. We gotta hurry."

The three hurry off for the landing zone quicker than before. The smoke and cracking of flames grow more audible as they get close.

A/N: Well, talk about some sort of cliffhanger. Not the positive ending to the chapter, but it's something I have been looking forward to. Here we are with the fight for Manhattan. Please bear with any of the awkward moments, I'm doing the best I can with the story.

Anyways, I've got some weird updates on life. Not sure what's going to happen this year… Hell, I haven't been honest on what's going on. Truth be told, I am lacking confidence in many things, especially with writing and this story. I'll do my best to keep this going.
