A/N: Don't hate me. I had every intention of getting this up earlier. I have two weeks off for the holidays, so I hope to bring you some extra cheer.

Without thinking, Callie walked Arizona to the passenger side and held the door open waiting for her to slide in before closing it and going to her own side. Getting into the driver's side, she didn't miss the sigh of relief coming from the other woman. She wanted to ask if she was okay, if she was in pain, if she needed anything, but she remained silent. Even though Arizona was just laughing about her leg, she wasn't sure where her own boundaries were when it came to the leg. She never knew from one day to the next and it was extremely difficult to gauge that now after all this time. Arizona looked over to Callie wondering what was taking her so long to start the car. She wasn't expecting to see the concern written so clearly across her beautiful face. What made her stomach clench though was the look in those expressive eyes. Those eyes shone with fear and worry. At that moment, Arizona was cursing her former self for ever making this sweet woman fear asking after her well-being. It was obvious she wanted to ask, almost needed to ask, but just as clear was her hesitance to do so. Reaching out her hand to rest on a muscular thigh she whispered softly, "It's okay Callie, you can ask." The deep exhale and relaxation of the other woman's shoulders immediately dispelled the tension that was beginning to build, but that breathtaking smile erased any remnants of fear from days of old.

Sighing in relief, Callie patted the hand on her leg and smiled at her ex-wife. Starting the engine she looked over and said, "Ibuprofen is still in the glove box. You can have some of my water to wash it down. I have something a little stronger at home if you need it." Nodding her understanding, Arizona wasted no time digging in the small compartment for some much needed relief. She then offered, "It's not as bad as I expected. I owe that to you, thank you for sending the plane for us." Maneuvering her SUV out of the parking lot and heading toward the interstate, Callie asked, "Was the flight okay? It wasn't too bad for you?" Shaking her head, Arizona responded, "No, it was good. I took half of one of the pills you sent and between that and the long day, I barely remember stepping onto the plane." She smiled then added, "It helped that it felt more like I was in one of the Torres Hotels than a flying tin can." Callie laughed at that, "Yeah, I think if anything, daddy has gotten more extravagant in his old age. Right after he first bought it, he came to the city on business and had me meet him for lunch. Imagine my surprise when he didn't even get off the plane and made me join him to eat there." Shaking her head and laughing quietly, Arizona responded, "That actually sounds exactly like something Carlos would do." Thinking for a moment, Callie nodded her head in agreement, "Yeah, I guess it does."

Enjoying the easy banter and remembering why her family had come in so late, she asked, "So tell me about the wedding." Arizona threw her head back and laughed out loud making Callie's stomach clench at the inviting sound. Chancing a glance to her right, she savored the carefree happy look on the other woman's face. It had been so long since Arizona was so happy and open. Calming down, Arizona said, "All I can say is…it was a Kepner planned wedding." Shocked to hear that April Kepner actually planned Alex Karev's wedding, she then remembered the last wedding April planned and asked, "Oh God! Was there actually a wedding this time?" Arizona snorted a laugh and said, "Three actually, but none of them went as planned." Glancing to her right again, Callie raised her eyebrow in question. Arizona then spent the majority of the ride home regaling her ex-wife with the goings on of the day as she experienced them and later learned through text messages. As the conversation died down, Arizona's head slumped against her chest and she was asleep almost instantly. It was then that Callie noticed Arizona's hand never left her leg when she placed it there earlier. Smiling to herself, she reflected on the events of the last couple hours as she drove them home.

Feeling the car slow to a stop, Arizona's eyes blinked open as she realized she must have fallen asleep at some point. Her jaw dropped when she saw the beautiful stone ranch-style home before her. She watched as Callie turned into the small circular drive and parked directly in front of the door. Her heart sped up a bit as her ex-wife turned and smiled brightly when she saw she was awake. She could feel the goosebumps when she heard the husky, "Hey sleepyhead, we're home." She wasn't sure what exactly caused the reaction, whether it was the deep sexy voice or what she said…home. That word just kept popping up today. Looking up at the expansive house, Arizona realized it was almost exactly as Callie had described when they shared their idea of their dream house with each other. Before she could stop herself, she gasped out, "Callie you found it! Your dream home. You found it. It's gorgeous." At the same time, she felt a wave of sadness that her ex-wife found her dream home in another state without her. Without their family. The brunette smiled again when she heard her ex-wife's words. She was nervous as hell about how she would react once she got inside. But she didn't miss the slight mood shift, Arizona almost sounded sad as she said it. Callie took a small pale hand in her own and gave what she hoped to be a reassuring squeeze. "Thank you, I only lived here for about a month when you first called to say you were bringing Sofia home. I had a lot of renovations made. I'm hoping to…well, there are a couple of additions I'd like to make, but for the most part, it's done." She hoped this would help the blonde understand she was thinking of her and once she saw everything, that Arizona would see she wanted her and Sofia to be those additions she just referred to. She also hoped it would be received well. Feeling the hand she was holding relax, she was hit with another bout of nerves. It had been nearly four years since they spent any time together and they were about to share a house once again, at least for the time being.

Taking in the exhaustion weighing heavily on the petite blonde, she said quietly, "I'll carry the bags in then we will get you two settled. Wait right here." After getting out of the car and quietly closing the door so as not to disturb their daughter, she unlocked and opened the front door then returned to the car to get the luggage and bring it in. Returning to the car, she smiled as she noticed the sleepy blue eyes were following her every move. Carefully opening the passenger door, she held out her hand to help the other woman to her feet. Relief washed over her when the other woman thankfully accepted her help and stood from the car. Taking her wife's hand, opening doors, carrying bags were little things she enjoyed doing, they enjoyed doing for each other, but were the first to go after the crash. Any attempt she made after Arizona lost her leg was declined and often rebuked. While she knew it was the blonde's attempt at regaining her independence, it still hurt that her wife wouldn't let her help, wouldn't let her express her love in even the smallest of ways. Guiding her to the front door, she led her into the entry way and returned to claim their sleeping child.

Deciding she was too tired to go back out and move the car to the garage, she engaged the alarm, shut the door and tossed her keys in the princess bowl on the small table in the entryway. The clink of keys brought Arizona out of her sleep induced stupor and she giggled as she saw where the keys landed. Looking up to see the brunette's look of confusion, she pointed at their daughter's artwork and said, "I have something very similar and it serves the same purpose." The soft loving smile that crossed those plump red lips caused her heart to pick up just slightly. She returned the smile when she heard, "Oh thank god! I was worried I was the only one graced with that…um…" She couldn't say it, no matter how much she loved her daughter, she couldn't complement the pink glittery mess. She didn't have to though when she heard the barely spoken, "Monstrosity," come from the other woman. "Yeah, that." Callie returned with a smile. Feeling her daughter shift slightly, she realized they had been standing in the foyer just smiling at each other for a few minutes. "Let's get her tucked in, then we can get you squared away, you must be exhausted." Callie whispered over their little girl's shoulder. Arizona nodded and followed Callie down the hall to their daughter's bedroom.

While Callie waited in the hall, Arizona went through the extra-wide door and turned on the bedside light. She then went to the dresser and grabbed a pair of pajamas while Callie began undressing the sleeping child. They made swift work of getting their daughter settled, both kissed her goodnight, then headed out the door before taking one last glance, quietly closing the door behind them. "We were always so good at that. No matter what else we got wrong, she's the one thing we did right." Callie said as she led Arizona back down the hallway. Hearing the same sentiment she had spoken in the cemetery reiterated by her ex-wife gave her pause. It was just coincidence right? Of course she would think the same thing. This was their daughter. Shaking off the odd feeling in her stomach, Arizona looked up to see that Callie was looking at her curiously. Shaking her head, she explained, "I had said nearly the same thing to Ma…uh someone earlier. I just, I'm glad you feel that way too." Arizona blew out a shaky breath. She knew Callie wouldn't think anything odd of her talking to Mark, but, well, it was just something she wanted to keep to herself. At least for now. Nodding her head, Callie agreed, "Of course I do Arizona." Callie wanted to say more. She wanted to thank her again for making such a selfless move, she wanted to apologize for having moved here in the first place, she wanted to clear the air about the custody hearing, but she knew there would be plenty of time for all that. The middle of the night while they were both exhausted was not the most opportune moment. So she let it go, for now.

As they neared the wide door to Arizona's room, Callie bit her bottom lip suddenly feeling nervous about her ex-wife's reaction. They stopped just outside the door and she turned to look at Arizona. She was still biting her lip and her eyes were darting around trying not to make eye-contact. Noticing the nervous look on her ex's face, the same look she had imagined earlier in the airport, she realized her ex-wife had done something big and was afraid of her reaction. Feeling that warmth rush through her once again, the blonde raised her pale hand and placed it on a tan cheek. She placed her thumb on the plump bottom lip and freed it from perfect white teeth. "What is it Callie?" Looking down at the floor now, Callie said, "Ummm…it's just that…I uh…I wanted you to be comfortable and have everything you needed, so I uhhh, well…just…if you don't like anything, we can get what you want." She had no idea what was behind this door, but Callie was clearly nervous. It was sweet and endearing that she cared so much about her feelings and her comfort. Not able to help the dimpled smile that spread across her face, she soothed, "I am sure I'll love it Callie."

Letting out a sigh of relief, Callie twisted the doorknob and stepped aside to allow Arizona to pass through. Arizona gasped as she entered the room. Raising her right hand to rest on her chest as if to still her racing heart, she looked around the huge room that was clearly decorated with her in mind. The walls were a pale blue with white and navy accents, the entire room was decorated in country chic style with hardwood furniture painted with a whitewash. On one wall was a small vanity table with a cushioned stool. Atop the vanity sat a basket full of her favorite perfumes, lotions, and make-up along with other items for hair care. Next to the vanity was a set of double doors which she assumed to be a walk-in closet; the other wall housed a large chest of drawers with a mirror. Sitting along the top of the dresser was an ornate jewelry box, and several small picture frames displaying what she assumed to be their daughter. A third wall was nearly all glass with double doors leading out onto a small patio. Pale pink curtains with embroidered flowers hung from a silver curtain rod above the doors. The final wall held a king-sized bed with a headboard to match the other furniture covered with a comforter a shade darker than the curtains with similar embroidery. Several throw pillows were neatly arranged along the top of the bed. At the end of the bed was a long settee bench matching the stool of the vanity. The bed was framed by two matching night tables with small lamps. An iPhone charger and docking station sat on one of the tables closest to what was always her side of the bed. Propped on the wall next to the table was a set of crutches. Finally, she saw another door which clearly led to the en-suite bathroom.

Callie watched nervously as Arizona walked around the room taking everything in. Arizona finally turned to see the brunette standing in the doorway shifting from foot to foot nervously twisting her hands together. She looked absolutely adorable. Unable to hold back the emotion, she blinked back the tears that had welled up in her eyes. She was overwhelmed. Her ex-wife had created her dream room right down to the last throw pillow. Without hesitation, she walked over and enveloped the taller woman in a tight hug burying her face in her neck nuzzling her warm caramel skin with her nose. When she felt she could talk again, she whispered, "It's beautiful Calliope! I can't believe you remembered this." Callie's heart lurched the moment she heard her full name crossing those beautiful lips for the first time in four long years. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she turned her own head to nuzzle a soft pale neck inhaling Arizona's unique scent. "I remember everything you said Arizona, every hope, every dream, all of it. I wanted you to have your dream room." she said softly. Arizona pulled back with tears in her cerulean blue eyes, "Thank you. I love it. It's so much better than I even pictured." She leaned up and placed a soft kiss on those gorgeous red lips. Callie held tight for just a moment longer before she stepped back. Reluctant to let the other woman go, they both slid their hands down the arms of the other and linked their fingers just staring into one another's eyes relishing the moment. Callie finally broke the silence, "I'll go get your things, your bathroom is right there and I'm just down the hall, first door on your right." Arizona squeezed the hands still linked with hers then let go. She watched as Callie slipped out the door and down the hall.

Arizona turned and looked at her room once again. Walking around the room, she took in every tiny detail. There wasn't a single thing Callie had missed. Standing at the dresser, she picked up one of the small frames and smiled at the memory the picture evoked. They were standing in the living room at Meredith and Derek's house on Zola's first birthday. She was holding Sofia's back to her front, neck bent smiling down at her and Callie stood behind her, arms wrapped around her waist with her head in similar fashion smiling at her. There was so much love radiating from that picture it nearly brought a fresh wave of tears to her eyes. Placing it back on the dresser, she tried not to think about why her ex-wife had chosen to include that picture in the small display. Looking closely at all the photos, she realized they weren't all just Sofia. There were a few of them housing pictures of the three of them together and one held a picture of just she and Callie. The fact they were there didn't puzzle her as much as the fact that they didn't appear to be new. It was obvious the furniture and everything else was new, but these pictures looked like they had been in the frames and just maybe moved from someplace else recently. She couldn't wrap her head around it all and was honestly too tired to try to decipher what, if anything, all this meant.

Heading into the bathroom, Arizona decided to take a quick shower before she went to bed. She stopped in her tracks the second she opened the door and gasped audibly. The bathroom was bigger than any she had ever seen and contained both a shower and a tub. Not just any shower or tub. The shower had frosted glass sliding doors, a built-in bench, three detachable shower heads at various heights, and rather than handrails for her safety, there were built-in ledges with grips that were barely visible unless you were clearly looking for them. The tub was actually a deep Jacuzzi tub which was big enough for two, with cushions on the seats and upon closer inspection, she realized this was a walk-in tub obviously chosen specifically for her. As she turned toward the sink, she saw it was actually a double sink and one was situated lower than the other as if it were meant for a small child or…or a person in a wheelchair. Next to the taller sink sat a small basket with her preferred hair care and other hygiene products. As she looked in the mirror, she realized she was crying. This woman never ceased to amaze her. Locating the towels, she quickly changed her mind about the shower and prepared for a nice hot bath.

After nearly an hour of soaking in the hot water letting the jets hit her sore muscles, and the heat sooth her tired soul, Arizona had come to some heavy realizations. First and foremost, this house, with the ground level entry way, widened doorways, open floor plan, hardwood floors, and most especially this bathroom were all renovated long before she accepted Callie's invitation to stay here just a week ago. Secondly, her ex-wife had changed and grown immensely. She was no longer the self-absorbed woman who left Seattle two years ago. Long gone were any traces of the hot-tempered, stubborn woman she had become so accustomed to toward the end of their marriage. Finally, and most frighteningly, she was quickly losing her heart to Calliope Torres once again. She knew life with her and now she knew life without her and she knew which one was better hands down. It wasn't the giving of her heart that frightened her so badly, but rather the potential breaking of her heart that caused her to hesitate. She knew she would love the other woman unconditionally until the end of time, so sharing that love with her wouldn't be difficult in the least. It was always the fear that she would get hurt again, or worse yet, she would hurt Callie again. She couldn't bear the thought of that. The question now was what does she do with these insights?
