A/N - Here's the second half of the previous chapter! I felt it was different enough to be its own thing, sooo here ya go! (Although, I ended up cutting a good chunk of this chapter out so in the future, so this will probably merge back with the previous chapter later xd)

The Prophecy
…
The sky had begun to turn a pale orange by the time Yellowfang and Cinderpaw arrived on the outskirts of ThunderClan's borders.
Just as with every half-moon meeting before, the two medicine cats were expected to meet with their peers at Fourtrees, where they would then ultimately depart for Moonstone.
And the both of them knew, as they walked in silence, that there was no way they weren't going to be the last ones to arrive.
Yellowfang grumbled at that fact.
She hated being late, and not just because she scolded everyone else when they did it. It meant something else had likely taken up more than its fair share of her precious time, and in this case, it was Tigerstar.
As if she didn't have enough things to worry about, the ending to the conversation they had just before she left still didn't sit right with her.
"Dustpelt told me he had gotten into a small entanglement with the traitor just before the… incident," Tigerstar said, furrowing his brow. "Would StarClan break their silence over such a trivial matter?"
Yellowfang just shook her head. "Look, I have as many questions as you, but tonight I am meeting with the other medicine cats, so I'm sure I'll have answers by then. They might know something that can help us."
"Ah… right. That meeting was tonight," Tigerstar said, grimacing. "Well, if it was a sign, you must tell me everything you learn. Especially if it concerns the traitor."
Yellowfang grew more irritated the more she thought about it.
He's concerned more about Fireheart than his own cats. She thought. If Fireheart wasn't involved in that incident, would he have even cared to listen to me? Or even StarClan, for that matter?
In the midst of her pondering, she heard the sounds of her apprentice beside her, unceremoniously licking her fur as they walked.
Yellowfang looked at her strangely, realizing her apprentice was actually falling behind because of it.
"What's wrong?" she asked, putting aside her thoughts. Cinderpaw snapped her mouth shut, appearing startled that her mentor had been paying attention.
"O-oh!... Well, all that ruckus left me with no time to fix my fur," she said with a pout, going back to fix another minute flaw in her pelt.
Yellowfang had to roll her eyes at that. Young cats and their obsession with fur was something she'd never understand.
"If I can go before StarClan looking like this, then you'll be fine," she told her. "There's something else, I can tell."
Cinderpaw didn't reply for a moment, a concerned look in her face.
"I'm nervous to go back here. Isn't it obvious?" She lamented, sighing. "The last few times haven't gone so well, after all."
Yellowfang looked at her half-lidded, but still, she could understand her apprehension.
"Cinderpaw, being anxious is natural. Just do not think about it too much, and you will be fine," the older molly advised.
Cinderpaw looked hardly reassured by her words. Yellowfang grumbled. "Look, every medicine cat must prove themselves, but it is never stated how much we'll be tested. It's up to you to make sense of every challenge that comes your way. A bigger challenge means an even greater reward once you overcome it, so don't let anything keep you from them," she said. "And believe me, StarClan would let you know if you weren't in their favor."
Cinderpaw nodded along, snickering.
"Alright, alright, I get it," she said. Her face suddenly soured. "But then, there's also everything happening with Fireheart."
Yellowfang curled her lip slightly, being reminded of the tom's recent incident. "Fireheart showed no significant cognitive or breathing impairments after the incident. He never actually got struck by that lightning or hit by that falling branch, remember? He's fine, just shaken up."
"Oh, I know. That's not what I meant," Cinderpaw quickly interjected. "I'm just concerned... You don't think he's actually cursed, do you?"
Yellowfang narrowed her eyes. Curses like that were the highest form of superstition - often simply an excuse for bad cats to be bad. She would know; they called Brokenstar a curse, yet his life could've been completely different if he wasn't labeled as such.
"I doubt StarClan would put any kind of curse on any cat, much less Fireheart, but they've been full of surprises lately, so who knows?" Yellowfang answered honestly. "Nevertheless, I advise you to trust their judgment. Remember, a medicine cat has no time for doubt. Put your energy into today and stop worrying about the past."
"You make it sound easy," Cinderpaw groaned before giving her head a shake. "Stop worrying about the past… Put your energy into today… Yeah, I can do that."
Yellowfang watched her apprentice take a few deep breaths, her gait growing more calm and fluid. After a moment, Cinderpaw let out a hum of relief.
"Ah, I feel a little better now. Thanks, Yellowfang." She gave her a smile, chuckling. "You know, I remember when you were just some snarky old cat."
"I've been a medicine cat longer than I've been old, kit," Yellowfang replied, lashing her ear with her tail. "Now keep up. Your next challenge is explaining to these snarky old cats why we're late."
The trees began to thin as they reached the end of ThunderClan territory. Just a little further, the Great Oaks of Fourtrees could be seen. As they came up to the clearing, they noticed the other forest medicine cats gathered around the Great Rock. Each of their colleagues raised their tails in greeting when they saw them approach.
"Yellowfang. Cinderpaw," Barkface acknowledged them with a nod. "We were worried you wouldn't show."
Cinderpaw shared a glance with her mentor before dipping her head.
"We apologize. Something held us back," she said.
"Ah, no matter. We understand," Runningnose smiled at her. "It's good to see you again. Both of you!"
Cinderpaw grinned, bumping her head against the cat who'd practically been her third mentor. "How's ShadowClan been, Runningnose?"
"Oh! We've been doing even better than before," he replied enthusiastically. "In fact, Littlecloud has been helping with what I need ever since you left. I think you really inspired him, Cinderpaw. I was talking with these two about how I've been thinking of making him my apprentice." He paused, allowing Cinderpaw to purr in surprise. He continued, "Oh, and those warriors from Brokentail's old circle continue to be more and more helpful, believe it or not. The clan's starting to get along with them again - with Tigerstar's assistance, of course."
Yellowfang couldn't help but snort at that. "It's good to hear he's productive when he disappears from our clan without telling us, at least." Pausing, she turned to look at the horizon, seeing that the sun was about to set. "But nevermind. We all should be at Highstones by now."
"Agreed," Barkface said, nodding as he stood. "Let's depart. We can talk on the way."
With a mewl of agreement, the group of cats were off. Barkface, Yellowfang, and Mudfur led the way, while Runningnose and Cinderpaw held back, notably far enough so that the older cats couldn't hear them chatter.
However, the silence between the three older cats didn't last as Barkface turned to Yellowfang with curiosity.
"If you don't mind me asking, Yellowfang, what kept you for so long? It's not like you to be late," he inquired.
"Yeah, I'm curious, too." Runningnose jabbed at her from behind. "You were the one who drilled it in me that I 'always had to be punctual for StarClan'."
"An old molly can't have aching joints?" Yellowfang snapped. "If you must know, it was StarClan that kept us."
That seemed to make their ears perk up.
"You mean… they sent you a sign?" Barkface looked concerned.
"From what we saw, it couldn't be anything but," Yellowfang confirmed. "There was a flash of lightning in our camp that struck a tree. Happened just as Cinderpaw and I were about to leave." She twitched her whiskers as she recalled the event. "That's all I've made of it so far, but I figured I'd get an answer tonight anyway."
"Let's hope," Barkface agreed. "Although what you've described has me worried. It sounds like they might be angry with your clan."
"What?" Cinderpaw snapped her attention toward him. "Have they told you that themselves, Barkface?" she questioned, sounding offended.
"Actually, they haven't told me or Runningnose anything," he replied, glancing at the ShadowClan medicine cat. "That's why I think they're preoccupied with your two clans fighting."
Runningnose nodded. "StarClan likes to go silent sometimes, but we've never seen this kind of behavior from them," he murmured, sniffling.
Yellowfang leered at them, feeling somewhat betrayed. She hadn't exactly spoken with either of her colleagues much lately, but surely they wouldn't lie straight to her face. The StarClan she knew would never do something like that, no matter how stubborn they got.
"Mudfur?" Yellowfang peered at the tom who had been straying ahead of them. "You haven't said a word this whole time. If this is between our clans, is that supposed to mean you've been given a sign lately?"
To her surprise, the RiverClan medicine cat seemed to snicker before releasing a sigh.
"Oh, Yellowfang. I'm not one for war, but our clans appear to be destined to always be at odds." He looked back at her with his piercing gold gaze. "Yes, that's correct. I've been having dreams as of late. Ones where our river is filled with the blood and bodies of my clanmates," he explained, looking disquieted. "I believe it's StarClan trying to warn me of my clan's future if we continue to stand idle."
Yellowfang furrowed her brow, taking in his words as Barkface spoke.
"And I have received no such dreams. Consequently, I can only assume whatever he's talking about doesn't involve WindClan."
Cinderpaw shot him a look of unease. "W-well, we haven't gotten dreams either! We've been in the dark just as much as you two."
"But you've just been given a sign, yes? And an aggressive one, at that," Mudfur was quick to remind them. "Perhaps StarClan is confiding in RiverClan to resolve the issue, especially given that ShadowClan and WindClan aren't at odds with ThunderClan anymore."
"Mmph. I wouldn't word it like that," Barkface gave him a look, "but it's true. Tallstar wants nothing to do with ThunderClan now that Brokentail's gone."
"And we in ShadowClan... Well, we still must decide who our next leader should be, so I'm sure a fight is the last thing any of us are looking for," Runningnose added, looking embarrassed to admit such a thing.
Yellowfang just glared at him for a moment, frowning deeply. Seeing as those two weren't going to be any help, she dismissed them with a scoff, turning back to Mudfur.
"Alright, then," she grumbled. "I have my own quarrels with Tigerstar and my clan, but how can you be so certain that's what StarClan is saying?"
Mudfur simply shrugged. "Can one ever be certain with StarClan? I know I can't speak for them, but I'm merely sharing what I've interpreted," he said plainly. "Crookedstar has been waiting for a direct answer from StarClan themselves, so you'd better hope this meeting goes smoothly. He's been growing more antsy by the day."
"Like our clans haven't been at each other's throats enough," Yellowfang murmured to herself, huffing. "Alright, no more of this. Let's wait to hear what StarClan has to say before you jump to any more conclusions, Mudfur."
The old tom just snorted. "I've been waiting an hour."
"Then it sounds like you'll have plenty to whine about at the Moonstone," Yellowfang shot back. "Just keep walking. We're almost there."
After that, the healers mainly focused on getting to Highstones, now anxious about how they may react to their lateness, much less the recent events in the clans. The occasional chatter from Cinderpaw and Runningnose served as the only thing to break the tension.
It wasn't much longer before they made it to Highstones. Yellowfang was panting by the time she came before Mothermouth. She couldn't remember a time when she got to Highstones quicker, but then again, she couldn't remember a time when she was late either.
Barkface came up to her side, acknowledging her strife with a sympathetic look, knowing that her walk to Highstones was the farthest out of all of theirs.
"Let's hope that after all you've been through, this visit will make it worth it," he told her. Despite the look of mixed emotions Yellowfang gave him in response, he smiled kindly before looking away, his face suddenly darkening. "Runningnose said your last visit here was quite eventful. If StarClan truly is angry, it could be related."
Yellowfang released a drawn-out sigh, her fatigue making her more irritable. "Yeah, I'm sure. We can talk about it when I get more answers myself," she said roughly.
Barkface just nodded, watching as the rest of the medicine cats made their way inside the cave before nudging her with his tail.
"Then, let's find our answers, shall we?"
Yellowfang hummed in response, following him as he went ahead inside the cave.
The trek through Mothermouth seemed a lot more eerie than Yellowfang remembered. StarClan could hardly be felt, and the feeling sent shivers down her spine.
Something really is wrong.
Before long, she could see the brilliant glow of the Moonstone. Walking inside the large cavern, she noticed the stone's luster was the same as it always was, only adding to her confusion.
Actually, I swear it looks even brighter than before. She thought. What's their problem, then?
Looking around, she noticed the rest of the medicine cats had wasted no time dipping their noses into the water around the Moonstone, eager to speak with their ancestors. Yellowfang couldn't blame them either - she was probably the most eager of them all.
She padded over to the pool, silently dipping her nose underwater as she let her consciousness fade into her dreams.
Within the muffled white noise, Yellowfang could sense the world shifting around her. A certain feeling of weightlessness befell her, confirming that she was now in her mind.
She opened her eyes, only for her jaw to drop slightly as she was suddenly face to face with the lush fields of StarClan
She blinked. That wasn't what she was expecting.
"Sagewhisker?"
She called out the name of her former mentor, her paws rooted in place. She'd already vowed beforehand not to move unless someone came for her.
An uncomfortable amount of time passed with no response.
"…Bluestar?"
The vibrant grass and lush trees rustled in the breeze as if nothing was amiss. It was then that she felt a chill run down her spine. The breeze suddenly began to grow stronger, and the clouds shifted overhead. But Yellowfang still refused to move.
Darkness began to envelop the world around her, and a dark orange hue glistened from behind her. Yellowfang felt her paws tingle as flurries of embers drifted past her. She swore she could hear the sound of burning wood as well.
She could feel her chest tighten, as she couldn't bear it any longer. She whipped her head around, widening her eyes at the sight of StarClan's forest lit ablaze behind her.
The old she-cat took a few steps back, still in awe. Branches and trees began falling nearby before her instincts finally kicked in. Turning, she bolted away faster than she thought her legs could possibly take her.
But it was too late.
The fire quickly spread around her like a plume of ash and tephra. She gritted her teeth as she felt the heat singe her whiskers.
"There's no escaping fate."
A grisly, booming voice, one that rose above the cacophony of disaster, echoed throughout her mind. Their words were clear and unmistakable. Yellowfang had never heard anything like it.
Within the roars of burning flora, the voice spoke again as her consciousness began to fade.
"Beware the one who stalks the shadows."
A huge wave of force seemed to hit Yellowfang, making her awake with a violent jolt. She yanked her head up from Moonstone's pool, coughing furiously as if she'd inhaled some of it.
"Yellowfang!?"
Barkface was quickly on his paws, as were the rest of the medicine cats he'd been sitting with.
Yellowfang breathed heavily, finally gaining her bearings as she looked around. Barkface let out a sigh of relief.
"We were starting to get worried! You were away much longer than the rest of us," he said.
Mudfur came to his side, looking frazzled as he gave the tom a glare. "Starting? She was gone for ages! We've been sitting and pacing around this whole time like worried queens!"
"Slow down, minkbrains!" Yellowfang snarled, glancing between them. "What do you mean I've been gone? What have you all been doing?"
"We all woke up around the same time quite a while ago," Barface explained, pausing. "StarClan… never came to us."
Yellowfang dropped her glare, suddenly confused. Barkface continued.
"Apparently, we all saw the same thing. We've been trying to make sense of it this whole time," he said, sounding troubled. "We were alone in this cold, dark plane, with no cats to be seen."
Runningnose nodded from beside him. "I-I remember it clear as day. That dark void hadn't so much as a trace of my ancestors, but I swore I could feel their presence. It was like they wanted me to know they were ignoring me."
Yellowfang scrunched her nose, ignoring her own experience for the moment, as she glanced at her apprentice.
"Cinderpaw?"
Her voice made the she-cat's ears perk.
Cinderpaw frowned, kneading the ground before she spoke. "It's true, and it was pretty unsettling, too. I called to StarClan, but no one answered… just like last time." She looked solemn for a moment before giving her mentor a hopeful look. "Did they say anything to you?"
Yellowfang wore a flat expression.
"They did," she said finally. "At least, I think it was them."
The rest of the cats appeared surprised by that. Mudfur quickly stepped forward, a determined look in his eyes.
"You must tell us what they said!" he demanded, prompting Yellowfang to growl.
"Keep your fur on, halfwit! Of course I will!"
She peered at him annoyed a little longer before explaining what she could recall from the dream, noting the sense of discomfort she had when she saw the quiet, serene landscape at first. Of all the words she could use to describe StarClan, lonely was not one of them, but alas, it seemed like their fields were all but abandoned.
"And it was then, a voice spoke to me," Yellowfang said as everyone listened closely. "Beware the one who stalks the shadows."
Barkface furrowed his brow. "A prophecy?" He concluded, looking at the others.
"Sounds more like a warning, though I suppose they're one in the same," Cinderpaw commented, appearing deep in thought. "But what could it mean?"
Runningnose made a small whimpering noise. "I-it couldn't be referring to us in ShadowClan, right?" His tail twitched uncontrollably.
Cinderpaw gave him a look of reassurance. "It's incredibly vague, Runningnose, as per the usual. It could mean anything."
"I know what it means."
Mudfur's voice suddenly drew everyone's attention. He looked at them all with a frown, almost baring a fang.
"Tigerstar."
Yellowfang could almost feel the air grow tense the moment that name was uttered. She narrowed her eyes.
"Go on," she murmured. Mudfur blinked.
"Is he not the one pestering ShadowClan? That sounds a whole lot like stalking to me - even you can agree with that, Yellowfang," he reasoned. "Don't you see? StarClan's given both a message to your clan and now to you personally. On top of my dreams, it sounds like they are now trying to warn us both."
Yellowfang couldn't find a response to that as she came to the irritating realization that what he was saying actually made sense.
"But, like I said-" Cinderpaw muttered, peering toward her mentor worriedly. "It could mean anything... Right?"
"What else could they mean, Cinderpaw?! For star's sake, even one of your own clanmates showed up on our territory trying to convince us that Tigerstar's the problem!" Mudfur suddenly snapped. "Face it, our clans were meant to go to war. I'll have no choice but to bring this up with Crookedstar."
Yellowfang's eyes widened. If she turned her head, Cinderpaw looked as if she was about to lose her lunch.
"...What was that you just said?" Yellowfang murmured slowly.
Mudfur rolled his eyes. "Oh, can you really be surprised? This was bound to happen eventually."
"Not that," Yellowfang rasped. "What do you mean by one of our own clanmates? … And did they happen to be a particular shade of orange?"
Mudfur seemed to hold back a scoff. "Oh, so you know them, do you?"
Yellowfang's glare didn't waver. "Fireheart… What did he tell you?"
"Hmph," Mudfur grunted. "Enough to convince me and Crookedstar that your leader isn't the cat he says he is."
Yellowfang was about to respond when Barkface shoved his head between them. "Can you two stop acting like we aren't here?" He chastised them both. "Slow down. What's this about Fireheart? Isn't that the cat who helped my clan after we were driven out?"
"Indeed it is." Yellowfang flicked an ear in irritation. "And it seems he's helping more than just WindClan now."
Mudfur released a small sneer. "If he's told you the same things he told us, Yellowfang, then by the stars you should be ashamed of yourself."
"If he told you the same things he has told me," Yellowfang quickly interjected, "then you should know how difficult it would be to prove any of them. It would be his word against Tigerstar's, and Tigerstar has the whole of ThunderClan behind him."
"Apparently not, given that you don't seem to trust him," Mudfur retorted. "Tigerstar is a traitor with blood all over his paws. Killing his own comrades just to rise the ranks, disposing of anyone who might become a threat to his power. Three cats have come crawling to us, spewing the same thing, and now StarClan is trying to warn us both. Dare I say it's high time we do something about it?"
Yellowfang appeared to ignore the small gasps from the other cats around her as her yellow orbs lit up upon hearing Mudfur's words.
"I thought you said you wouldn't instigate war?" She quickly reminded him. Mudfur just shook his head.
"A war's already begun, Yellowfang," he said. "Crookedstar already knows about Tigerstar - he only needs to hear StarClan's message from today. Whether he decides this war is worth progressing or not is his decision."
Yellowfang couldn't get another word in as the RiverClan medicine cat shoved past them, making for the exit. Lashing his tail, he turned back to her and Cinderpaw.
"I suggest you have your poultices stocked before you see RiverClan next, no matter what he decides."
The heaviness in the air lingered as the remaining group of healers made their way out of the Moonstone's cave. Yellowfang had yet to even look at her apprentice, the younger she-cat having hung back closer to Runningnose.
Barkface and Yellowfang were the first to arrive outside, where the former finally broke the silence.
"Well, I had no idea things were this serious," he said with a sigh, turning to Yellowfang. "So, is everything he says true? Fireheart never seemed like the type to turn his back on ThunderClan like that."
"Barkface, I don't think I have the patience nor the energy to spare an explanation at this moment," Yellowfang told him flatly. "But if we're going to talk about it, then tell me something… Have you ever seen a small, black cat at that barn who goes by the name Ravenpaw?"
Barkface raised a brow at her question. "I haven't been near that barn in seasons. The Twolegs always kill the herbs," he replied, tilting his head. "I assume this Ravenpaw is somehow relevant?"
"Yes," Yellowfang responded tiredly. "Everyone presumes he is dead, but I have reason to believe he isn't. If you can confirm that he's alive, that alone would be a miracle. But if you could actually speak with him and hear about how he came to live there, it would help us tremendously."
Barkface hummed. "It sounds to me like this Ravenpaw wants nothing to do with the clans," he pointed out as Runningnose and Cinderpaw made their way over to them, "but regardless, I should look into whether or not an apprentice from a rival clan has been living on our territory for a few moons now... Very well, Yellowfang."
Nodding, the old she-cat then turned towards the newcomers.
"And you, Runningnose," she called to him. "Just how friendly is Tigerstar with Brokentail's old rogues?"
"U-uhm-" He stuttered, not expecting such a question. "Well, they sometimes get into a pointless spit, but they get along pretty well all things considered." He shuffled on his paws nervously. "By the way, isn't this Fireheart the cat that was working with them before?"
"No, Runningnose. I told you he never did that," Cinderpaw said, jabbing him with a paw. Yellowfang just flicked an ear at her.
"It's true you've been told that, but Fireheart claims that Tigerstar was the one who's been working with Brokentail's old circle, ever since the beginning, and that they were the ones responsible for Bluestar's death," she explained. "From what I could tell, Fireheart discovered this, so Tigerstar's kept him in camp as a prisoner, just like Brokentail. Probably in an attempt to keep his big mouth shut."
Cinderpaw looked fervent, as if she wanted to add something else, but her mentor's glare silenced her. Runningnose glanced between the two, his eyes widening.
"Why, that's preposterous!" He exclaimed. "S-so it might've been him all along? I-I knew I wasn't crazy… thinking he was being too friendly with those rogues."
"And I assume Mudfur knows all of this, more or less," Barkface finished. After recovering from his own initial surprise, he dipped his head. "Thank you for sharing this with us, Yellowfang."
Yellowfang just gave him a grunt. "Then I believe we're done here," she concluded, slumping her shoulders tiredly. "Look, believe what you want; I'm just as skeptical as you all, but know that if you can help us prove these claims, then you would be doing so much more than just doing me a favor."
Barkface stood up, preparing to leave. "No promises, old friend, but I'll see if I can find the time," he said. "For now, I must process everything that's happened tonight. I won't tell Tallstar what you've told me, but if he asks, I will not lie."
Runningnose stood as well. "Yeah, same here, though I'd rather not start any problems with those rogues again. I really do believe they are trying to change for the better," he said, dipping his head at the pair of ThunderClan cats. "Good luck, you two, and stay safe."
Yellowfang nodded to them both as they departed, and before she knew it, she was alone with her apprentice.
The silence was torture. Yellowfang had no idea what to do with her. Should she start by yelling at the top of her lungs or just release one big, drawn-out sigh?
"Yellowfang-" Cinderpaw began, but Yellowfang cut her off with a pained growl.
"I knew you were lying straight to my face back then," she said, turning her head to glare at her apprentice. "Tell me, should I break his hocks now or later to ensure he does not run away again?"
"I… I didn't know that's what he was doing!" Cinderpaw's ears went back as she desperately tried to explain. "He just disappeared that night and came back with herbs in his mouth! I could tell he was up to something, but he told me it was for a good cause! I didn't-... I thought-"
Yellowfang just exhaled, holding a paw up in the air.
Cinderpaw silenced herself immediately.
"No more of this. Not tonight. After today, I'm too exhausted."
Cinderpaw slumped over even further. "...Yellowfang-"
"Quiet, brat!"
She flinched hard at Yellowfang's rough voice.
The old medicine cat gave her a sharp look, only calming slightly when she saw her apprentice's look of guilt. Yellowfang huffed, turning away as she began to pick up and gather small leaves and branches under a small tree nearby.
A moment of awkward silence passed as Cinderpaw watched her mentor build a tiny makeshift nest, just barely large enough to accommodate her and her alone. Yellowfang plopped right onto it the moment she finished, hardly bothering to polish her handiwork.
"Sit. Rest." She finally spoke to her apprentice, struggling not to growl.
Cinderpaw looked disappointed, but she did not try to speak again. The dark gray she-cat just laid down without even bothering to go through the process of making a nest of her own. She only thought to do as her mentor advised, knowing she owed her that much after today.
Yellowfang kept her back to her, grunting when she heard her apprentice get settled.
"We shall deal with this when I am in the right mind," she murmured. "I need all the energy I can get before I rip into you two again."
…
A/N - Oh noooo drama at the Moonstone who woulda guessed ;(
Yeah, this update wasn't too thrilling, but at least we've given some much-needed development to our medicine cat buddies!
As I said, I cut a decent bit of stuff out (specifically, the full scene of Tigerstar returning from patrol after that "supernatural incident" and his conversation about it with Yellowfang. I included the most relevant portion of the conversation in a flashback, as you saw) so all that made for a quick, easy chapter, which I imagine some people will appreciate!
As for the next one... Well, I guarantee it will be huge no matter how much I cut from it, so look forward to that, I guess!
