Title: Rewrite the Stars
Chapter 18
(After sleeping for the morning and part of the afternoon, Elizabeth took a shower and then felt refreshed. She was glad that she didn't have work until the next day. While the boys were either in school or had sports, she decided to get supper ready. Moments later, Franco comes through the front doors. Elizabeth takes a brief break from supper prep and asks her hubby how his day went. Franco turns towards his wife and speaks in a sarcastic tone)
Franco: "You mean aside from not having many patients all afternoon to not getting much of a paycheck?" (scoffs) "I have to admit, babe, that I'm almost thinking of quitting my job and going to work somewhere else."
(Elizabeth momentarily finishes what she's doing in the kitchen and then faces Franco with curiosity)
Liz: "Where would you go?"
(Franco points at his wife and nods as he spoke)
Franco: "I spoke to Ava and she offered me a job at her gallery painting and working for her." (rolls his eyes) "I know you don't want that."
(Elizabeth sighs deeply as she rests her arms over her chest and tilts her head. She needed to think about how Franco felt on the subject and not just her feelings. Yes, she couldn't stand Ava, but she needed to respect the fact that Franco considered her a friend)
Liz: "Would working for Ava make you truly happy, Franco? I would never tell you what to do, babe. That's why I want your honest answer."
Franco: (polite smile) "I appreciate you saying that. I enjoy painting, however, I'm honestly not sure I'd want to do it permanently."
Liz: "I admit I feel Ava would use you, but I would put my personal feelings aside."
(Elizabeth tilts her head and puts her hands up to her sides in an attempt to understand what's going to be talked about next)
Liz: "Why can't you do the same thing for Jason? I'm trying to put my personal feelings aside regarding Ava. Why can't you do it for Jason?"
Franco: (scoffs loudly) "Because there's no comparison! Elizabeth, Jason is trying to come between us and you're oblivious to it!"
(Elizabeth puts her hair behind her ears as she raises her voice and takes a few steps forward)
Liz: "Franco, Jason and I are only friends regardless of how he feels about me! I only consider him a friend!"
(Franco narrows his eyes as he spoke)
Franco: "I wonder if you know that Jason is in love with you."
(Elizabeth was getting royally pissed off! How many goddamned times did she have to reassure Franco that she loved HIM? That even if Jason felt more than a friendship for her, it was only one sided? Ugh! This fight seemed pointless and never-ending)
Liz: (shouts) "I will NOT go down that route because I'm married to you and I love you, Franco Baldwin! See the ring!"
(Elizabeth shows Franco her wedding ring before continuing)
Liz: (shouts) "Besides, the ONLY person putting Jason in the middle is YOU!"
(Elizabeth ends the fight by walking fast into the kitchen and completing supper. She was privately glad the boys weren't home as they didn't need to hear what was being said)
(Jason goes to Sam's penthouse. Sam was less than thrilled to see him. She would never prevent him from coming, though, as they shared Danny and Jason was a father figure to Scout since Drew was dead. Sam yelled for Danny to come out of the kitchen as he was having a snack. Danny sees Jason and gives his dad a big hug)
Danny: "Hi, dad!"
Jason: (smiles) "Hey, buddy. Say, I have a question for you. Would you like to see grandma Monica this weekend, along with Cameron, Jake, and Aiden?"
Danny: (happily) "I'd love to! I miss hanging out with them!"
(Sam narrows her eyes and asks Danny to go upstairs so her and daddy can talk. After Danny leaves, Sam speaks in a huff)
Sam: "There's NO way in hell that Danny and Scout are going to Monica's with LIZZIE'S kids!"
Jason: (warning tone) "Sam, you need to grow the hell up and quit putting your needs in front of the kids' needs."
(Sam laughs incredulously and points at him)
Sam: "For the record, I love my kids! You need to mind your damn business! You kicked me out of your life, so you have no right to tell me what to do!"
(Without taking his deadly eyes off his ex, he walks slowly to Sam and speaks in a warning tone)
Jason: "If you don't do what is best for the kids, I will get Alexis involved."
Sam: (weird look) "What does Alexis have to do with anything?"
(Jason shrugs without taking his eyes off Sam)
Jason: "Alexis is a lawyer and I'll tell her how you've been acting. You can draw your own conclusions on what might happen."
(Sam looks wide-eyed at her ex in shock! What the fuck?! Sam stutters before raising her voice)
Sam: "Are you threatening to take away my kids?!"
(Jason just stares at her before speaking)
Jason: "Act like a mother, Sam. Just because we're not together anymore, doesn't give you the right to act like a five-year-old."
(Sam sighs deeply in defeat and waves her hand at Jason)
Sam: "Fine. You can take the kids to Monica's this weekend."
Jason: (nods) "Thank you."
Sam: (spits) "You're not even supposed to be here. If Delores catches you, I'll lose the kids. I bet you'd like that, wouldn't you?"
Jason: "It's for the kids, so Delores will understand. I'll take care of the arrangements regarding the kids and Monica's this weekend."
(Jason then makes his exit. Sam scoffs under her breath and shakes her head)
Sam: "You will NEVER know the truth about Aiden, you bastard. I'm taking that secret to my grave."
